well, with such an old release as 8.0.5, there is no way to create a database link to implement replication (well, maybe thru a third 8.1.7 stage database)
so by using exp/imp, you must drop the table before, or eventually implement unicity

                         Can anyone help me with the commands to import and restore  backup from  another administrative server

    I tried, even with code tags it looks the same since the 2500 character limit is exceeded.
    Please post just the relevant parts inside tags as mentioned, and choose a descriptive subject line.

  • I want to import and restore photos that I previously had in an older version of Photoshop Elements.

    Is it easy to import and restore from an older version? '
    Any pitfalls?

    If you're installing the new version of PSE on the same computer, and the actual photos have not been moved, the new version of PSE will find your old catalog and offer to upgrade the catalog to the new version.  Your old catalog will remain untouched -- the new version of the catalog will be a separate catalog.

  • Tape becomes recognized as imported after restore job to tape

    Hello everyone,
    Just an issue i've came across very recently. Whenever DPM performs a restore job to a tape, not only that tape becames flagged as forein but it's also mandatory that an detailed inventory is carried out before any operations can
    be performed on the tape.
    Why does this happen? and if this isn't normal, how can i fix it?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Yes, that is considered normal because DPM does not consider that tape as having a regular recovery point on it like a tape used for normal backup.  That is why it's considered imported and why you need to perform detailed inventory on it.
    Usually customer will restore to tape to make it available to a 3rd party or to take it offsite - very rarely would they turn around and try to restore from it - why would you, you can simply restore the original recovery point used to make
    the tape.

  • Important Backup/Restore Question

    I lost my iPhone and bought a new one. I backed it up on iTunes however after I started using my new one I forgot to restore the backup onto my new phone.
    If I restore the old backup on my iPhone will it overwrite the data that's currently on my new device?
    I'm mainly concerned with SMS and contact as my old backup has SMS's I'd like to have on my device however I have some currently on the device I don't want to loose. Same goes with the contacts.
    Thank you.

    If you restore an iTunes backup, it will completely overwrite everything on your device right now with everything that was on your other device when you backed it up.

  • I just reinstalled windows and when I restore Firefox bookmarks it says "Unsupported file type". My bookmark is in JSON file type. I restored it via Bookmarks Organize Bookmark Import and Restore Restore Choose File. What's going on?

    Please help me.

    Make sure that the backup file with the bookmarks has the correct file extension: .html for a HTML backup and .json for a JSON backup.<br />
    You can check that via the right-click context menu of that file and open the Properties.<br />
    If you are not sure about the file type then you can open the file in Firefox via "File > Open File"<br />
    A JSON backup will show as one long text line without line breaks and a HTML backup as a web page with clickable links.<br />
    A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded":
    An HTML backup starts with: <nowiki><!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1></nowiki>

  • How can I import bookmarks saved in format .json? Saved by Firefox in that format before computer restore.

    I have reinstalled F-ox after complete system restore. When I try to import bookmarks the only choice is from IE 6 which was installed by default at restore.

    You need to '''restore''' json backups through Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import&Backup > Restore - from file

  • HT201077 how do i find my old icloud account.  my documents restored under wrong file

    I hit restor by accident and lost all of my current information.  How do I find my icloud with recent info and not that with other users in my household?

    hello demismom, you can go to ''firefox > bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import & backup > restore'' and select a backup from before the merge. this will replace all the current bookmarks with the ones from the backup.

  • I can only import bookmarks one at a time?

    When I navigate to my favorites folder it only lets me select one at a time? I have hundreds to import. How can I do the whole folder??? Control/select & shift/select won't work to select the list.
    My old computer was backed up online including favorites. I downloaded them onto the new computer but firefox won't let me select more than one at a time with either the import or restore functions.

    Export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • How to restore iPhoto pictures from time machine

    Knowing this:  " When using iPhoto ’11 (version 9.2 or later) and Time Machine with OS X Lion 10.7.2 (or later), iPhoto no longer has the Browse Backups option. This means that instead of restoring specific photos within your iPhoto Library, you must restore your entire iPhoto Library."
    I need to restore from the July 2012 backup iPhoto library a few photos, no more than 50, I guess I need some guidance on how to prevent my current iPhoto library to be overwritten with the contents of an old library, thus erasing all of the pictures I have taken since, that's 2 years ago.
    Should I create a *new* iPhoto library, and restore it with the contents from the time machine? I suppose that once the *new*  has been restored then I can pick up the pictures and export these to my current library.
    I need to be cautious as to how I can do this, I do not want to loose the thousands of pictures I have in my current library and would appreciate if what I intend to do will bring the results I want to have.
    Thanks

    When you restore the library, use the "Restore to" function and not the "Restore". This will let you select a different folder, or if you do not have enough disk space, restore to a different disk. Then open the restored library by double clicking it and export the photos you need to restore.
    Double click your current library to switch back to your current library and import the restored photos.

  • Restoring deleted photos from lightroom hard drive

    If my photos were deleted from my lightroom hard drive, what is the best method to re-import or restore my "back up photos" back into my drive and original catalog?

    I think it would depend on your catalog back ups and how the photos were deleted and how many.
    If you have a back-up of the catalog before the files were deleted and it was your entire photographic catalog which was large is size , then you can do as DJ suggested.  It would probably be the fastest way.  After the photos are restored to their original location, you may have to go to File>Import from another catalog,  and then choose the folder location of your backups and select the most recent.
    If you are speaking of just a few photos, or maybe just one folder, you can simply restore the files on your PC or MAC, and re-import using Add.
    Hope that helps.

  • Restore RMAN from different Database Rman backup

    Hi Everybody
    I am practicing Rman so I have one query that how to restore rman backup from another database.
    For Example :
    1. I have Rman backup of DB1 with level 0 and level 1 cumulative database plus archievelog
    2. I need to import or restore Rman backup of DB1 to another database DB2.
    What is the procedure for doing the above queries. Please anyone one help me out.
    I have using oracle 10g r2 running in windows server 2003.
    Thanks in advance.

    These are the steps ; you need to write the appropiate commands for each step: Hope it helps!
    1) Take appropriate RMAN backup of the database db1. Note that you should turn on the CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP configuration so that we have the controlfile backed up after the database backup. When we restore the controlfile on new host from this autobackup piece, it will have the information of the latest backup.
    2) Create a PFILE for the destination database db2 using the database db1
    3) Move the backup pieces and the modified INIT.ORA file to the new host. Starting from 10g it is NO longer compulsory to copy the RMAN backup pieces to exactly the same location on the new host as the production location.
    4) Use the pfile created above to STARTUP NOMOUNT the database on the new host
    5) Now invoke RMAN and restore the controlfile specifying the location where the controlfile autobackup piece is restored on this new server. You can mount the database once the controlfile is restored successfully.
    6) You can skip this step if you have restored the RMAN backup pieces to exactly the same location they were backed up on database db1. If this is not the case then you need to catalog the RMAN backup pieces to make RMAN aware of thier new location on the new host. Note that CATALOG BACKUPPIECE command is available only starting from 10g.
    7) Having determined the point up to which media recovery should run, start the restore/recovery using for example:
    RMAN> run {
    2> set until sequence 59 thread 1;
    3> set newname for datafile 1 to '/new_location/system01.dbf';
    4> set newname for datafile 2 to '/new_location/undotbs01.dbf';
    5> set newname for datafile 3 to '/new_location/sysaux01.dbf';
    6> set newname for datafile 4 to '/new_location/users01.dbf';
    7> restore database;
    8> switch datafile all;
    9> recover database;
    10> }

  • Since the FF8 update, all bookmarks were lost and none of the recommended methods for restoring lost bookmarks work; I always get "Unable to process to backup file" even though the backup .json files still exist

    Since a FF8 update, all bookmarks were lost and none of the recommended restore methods work, even though I have been able to find the backup ".json" files; I continually get "Unable to process the backup file" for all methods of importing or restoring the bookmarks from the .json files. As others note, I can also no longer add any new bookmarks to my now empty bookmarks tab. My profile has not changed, so that's not the problem. This is really a pain.

    Did you try to delete the file places.sqlite to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from a JSON backup?

    A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • The "Import Bookmarks" won't work if there's no backup dates... What to do?

    I just swapped-out my desktop PC's, and I have lost ALL of my Firefox Bookmarks :( I have been thru all of the "Import and restore" help guides, but unfortunately any earlier restore dates are just not offered to me... only the 1 date after I did the computer swap. How can I get my old bookmarks back and onto my new PC? I'm using Windows 8.1 Thanks!

    Do you still have your old computer running, or do you have the hard drive from your old PC, or do you have a copy of the hard drive, or did you use a data transfer tool to copy old data onto your new computer?

  • Books are Stored in File JSON file type in FireFox 4 But when I go to Import them back. I'm asked for HTML only and the JSON Files do not show. What do I do?

    I pushed the "backup" feature in my bookmarks and it stored them in file format JSON. Yet When I asked to Import them back. I only see that bookmarks of HTML are accessible.
    What am I to do?

    You need to restore a JSON backup:
    * Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore > Choose File
