Import photos into photo booth

Hello,
I just upgraded to Leopard by doing an erase and install (wanted a fresh start). I manually backed up all the photos in my Photo Booth folder and the recents.plist file also.
Now I was to add those photos back into Photo Booth in Leopard. I know you used to be able to edit the Recents.plist file, but the new Photo Booth does not seem to make this file. Anyone have an idea of how I can import my backed up photos into Photo Booth?

Ah, just figured it out. The Recents.plist file is now located in /Users/~/Library/Application Support/Photo Booth/
For some reason when I did a spotlight search for Recents.plist, that folder didn't come up so I assumed Photo Booth was no longer using Recents.plist to hold the list of photos.
Thanks!

From a PC, how do I store a photo into Photo Stream so that I can access it on iPad? Like, a Word document can be dropped into iCloud from my PC and it will appear when I open iCloud from my iPad.

    From your Windows desktop
From your Windows desktop, drag any photo to the Photo Stream Uploads folder you chose in the iCloud Control Panel.
Note:   Photos in Photo Stream appear in the order they were originally taken, not in the order they were added to Photo Stream. If you manually add photos, they appear throughout Photo Stream in the appropriate date order.
For a list of file types that can be added to Photo Stream, go to the Apple Support article Photo Stream FAQ and see “What photo formats does Photo Stream support.”

  • Importing raw into photos for mac

trying to get to grips with photos now aperture scrapped

<<There doesn't seem to be any facility for this>>
This is basically correct.  You can import RAW files to photos, but the standard RAW filter will be applied and you can only edit the image with the included, simple-minded Photos editor.  You can chose in the editor whether to use the JPG or RAW file as the master, but it's unclear which file is exported or shared when you try to send it somewhere else.  Sometimes it works but other times the exported image looks like the original unedited JPG.  I've sort of abandoned shooting in RAW for the moment unless I'm in a situation where I know I will need to do RAW editing in Photoshop.  At minimum there seems to point in importing the RAW file into Photos as it just makes the library bigger without any appreciable benefit, so if I do shoot in JPG/RAW, I just import the JPG files to Photos and edit the RAW files with Photoshop from the Finder folders.
You can make suggestions to Apple for product enhancements at the Photos for Mac suspport site.  We'll see if Apple listens to the users or continues to try to support only the lowest common denominator casual photographers.

  • How to get a photo into photo browser

how do you get a photo into the photo browser box

I have same problem. I could only see a fraction of my project photos if I browse the Aperture lbrary. It is the same problem when I sync the aperture photos to my iPhone or iPad. I still cannot solve it but I know a way to go around it for your iMovie to see the pictures so that you can work on your iMovie.
    Here is the work around:
Export the photos from your album to your hard disk and re-import into your iPhoto. Now you should be able to see those photos that you want to work on in iMovie when you browse your iPhot library.

  • HT204655 How do I get my albums from i photo into photo

Converted my i photo pics to photo but albums didn't convert over.  How do I get my I photo albums into photo? Also what happened to events?

Problem solved thanks to visit to Apple store.  By the time I went into the Apple Store I thought I knew what happened, but couldn't re import. When I imported my photos to photos I had two files to choose from and evidently picked the wrong one.  Going into finder I could see both files, but they were'nt highlighted so I couldn't import the other file.  The guy at the Apple Store suggested to hit the option and photo on the dock at the same time to see if I could not bring up the other file.  If that didn't work he said to go to finder and hold control while clicking on picture.  The last method is what ended up working and then I was able to import the other file. Bingo, the side bar now shows events from I Photo and the Albums.

  • How to get photos into photo stream?

How do you get photos from your iPhone camera roll into photo stream?

OK, after a bit of Googling I managed to get my photos from the iPhone to my PC without iTunes or a desktop app. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/i-cannot -download-pictures-from-my-iphone-to-my-pc/94f5c656-c1d9-48e6-9b6f-796ae048b75e
When I plug my iPhone into the PC as well as iTunes coming up the Windows AutoPlay popup appears. If I choose Open device to view files in Windows Explorer, I can then see the folder containing the photos and copy them to my PC. This worked fine for me, although from Google others have had problems.
I suppose I could now put these back into the Photo Stream on my iPhone via iCloud by putting them into the Photo Stream/Uploads folder on the PC.

On the photo app intro video they said can import photos and videos from my digital camera to the iPad.
I work using video feedback a lot and this is one of the main reasons I decided to get the iPad because then I will not have to take my MBP everywhere.
I just tried importing standard mp4 video into the iPad from both my camera and iPhoto but I got the message notifying me that the Ipad does not support the file format..

  • Problem importing photos into photos.app from camera and iPhone

Connect Nikon D300 or iPhone 5S to Mac.
    Photos.app comes on.
    Select: import photos.
-73 photos coming from Nikon in Nikon's RAW format, NEF. 3 would not import because of "error in file format or other problem...."
    -Disconnect the camera.
    -Reconnect the camera.
    -Attempt to import remaining images.
-Last three images import but are now out of order relative to when they were shot.
About 20 photos and videos coming from iPhone. Similar problem but one that required repeating the above process several times to get them all imported.
Anyone else seeing this or have any idea why it would be a problem?
    Thanks

I believe I *should* have an option to add to the library (I've seen screenshots of it).
I'm not sure I understand your question, since I don't recall the screenshot you mention. However, I like to add photos to my library w/o creating a new folder, too.
Here's an example of how I do this with my Nikon photos:
    1. I already have some photos in my library. One folder is labeled Nikon, where I put my D80 photos (all of them, so far).
    2. When I hook my camera/memory card to the computer, I manually drag the images to that folder on my drive called "Nikon". This is the same folder I have imported into LR previously.
    3. Start LR, Select "Import", and migrate to and select that same folder ("Nikon", in my case).
    4. LR will tell you that it is not importing certain files, because they're already in the library. Click OK and LR will import the other, new files into the same "Nikon" folder (in my example).
Voila! ..no new folders in LR, just more photos.:)
Obviously, I've set LR's preferences to "Do nothing" when a memory card/camera is detected.
If I missed your point, sorry for the distraction.
    regards,
    jeff

  • HOw do I import .jpg photos into Photo Elements 6?

I've looked at bridge (can't see how there) adn at most of the tutorials and am not able to find out how to do this.

If you have the mac version and therefore bridge, you don't import anything. Bridge is just a browser to show you the current state of any folder you point it at; your photos are not "in" bridge. You can use file>open in the editor or if you've set your file associations right (bridge preferences>file type associations), double click a thumbnail in bridge to open the photo in PSE.
There is no Get Photos in Bridge.

  • Can I trash iPhoto library after "importing" them into Photos ?

    Hi everybody.
I have a 157 GB iPhoto library file, with all my photos and videos.
With the last OS X update, Photos was installed.
I told Photos, that the iPhoto library, should be  "Use as System Photo library".
I now have 2 libraries...one for iPhoto and one for Photos. They seem about the same size.
My question now is: Can I now trash the iPhoto library?
Did it import everything from that library, to the Photos library now?
I need the space...Hope somebody can help with this!
    Thank you!

    HI Bobby.
    Thanks's for the answer
I'm going to wait until I have everything uploaded to iCloud then. Takes a while.
Funny thing is, that before the "big import" to Photos, I had about 70GB left on the HD. And the reason why I get suspicious is, that now I have those 2 libraries, each around 157GB. Doesn't make sense to me. Seems like my HD just magically got an extra 100GB , if they in fact are separate libraries.

  • I cannot get any photos into Photo Stream

I have a MacBook Pro late 2011 updated to Mountain lion, an iPad 2 and the latest Apple TV.  I have followed the instructions on all devices to the letter and followed the help instructions in the Apple Support Section, but I cannot get a single photo to appear in Photo Stream. I managed to get an album name to appear in iPhoto Photo Steam shared with my apple ID, but there are no photos. I have dragged and dropped, selected single photos and chose the Share icon, then Photo Stream in iPhoto and chose both My photo stream and the one I managed to name, but it just keeps showing photo count as 0.
Photo Stream is activated correctly in the Mac iCloud settings and also in the Settings on my iPad, but not one single photo has made it to my Photo Stream fromf iPad or Mac!  I am signed into my ID on Apple TV but Photo Stream has 0 photos.
I have been doing this over and over for a couple of hours.  Everything has been followed correctly, but it just wont add a single photo no matter if I do manul or autmatic.
    Any ideas from the community?
I upgraded to Mountain Lion last night, and everything seemed to go OK.  iPhoto is 9.4.1
    Many thanks

Try this basic troubleshooting fix: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then your current library is the culprit.
Post back with the results and we can go from there.

  • HT4736 Taking too long (2 minutes) to locate and download photos into Photo '11 9.5 (902.7 build running on an older Intel based MacBook Pro with iPhoto libraries on a USB2 External HD).  I checked and repaired HD permissions. Any ideas?

Regarding iPhoto '11 9.5 (902.7 build running on an older Intel based MacBook Pro with iPhoto libraries on a USB2 External HD).  I am dealing with iPhoto taking too long to download photos.  Specifically, I rechecked and repaired HD permissions. I am running the most current software my five year old Intel MacBook Pro can run.   What happens is that when I connect an external SD card, or my iPhone, the new version of iPhoto takes up to two full minutes to fully acknowledge the device. Then locate new photos and be ready to download them to my external HD.  I am kind of concerned about this.  This has never happened before.
I take 20,000 photos a year.  I really don't want to lose any.  Or is there something I am doing wrong?  Or need to be aware of?  Any experienced suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Have a great day.
PS.... The cameras I use are Canon SX-30, Nikon D3100, and my iPhone 4S.  Thanks again for your assistance.

Hello Old Toad.... Those sound like great ideas.
I thought I checked and repaired disk permissions on my main boot HD.  That boot disk is Mac OS Extended (Journaled)  Capacity 749.3 GB.  Available 562.53 GB.   BUT.... now that I think of it.... the Seagate external HD with USB2 interface is: Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Capacity 639.79 GB, Available 36.2 GB with my latest iPhoto Library 517.37 GB that was already scanned & updated to be read by the latest iPhoto version.
I'll try your suggestions tonight as far as double checking 'permissions' and setting up a tiny test library.
Or maybe it's time to fill up another External HD?
I appreciate your and anyone else's suggestions to try.
Have a great day. ~~ David in Rochester NY

"Photos" just got dumped on me with the OSX upgrade. I cannot find out how to move a photo into an existing album after importing it into "Photos" It is NOT intuitive on how to create and manipulate albums.

Duh! I think I was so put off by the forced change I did not think of the obvious.

  • How can you upload folders into Photos?

I am missing a critical feature: being able to upload pictures and corresponding folders into Photos. I have a vast number of pictures organized in folders. when importing these pictures, the folders and folder names disappear and pictures get randomly sorted as many of the older pictures have no geo tagging or time stamp.
in the past this was no problem as iPhoto as well as folder synchronization between OS X and I OS allowed to import folders.
this feature must be reintroduced, if not years of organizing thousands of pictures have been in vain. Or has anybody found a workaround?

You can't import folders into Photos.
Import a folders worth at a time and use Last import to create a new album from them.
