Import play list from shuffle to itunes

Hi There,
I have an ipod shuffle that I have imported a load of songs onto. My shuffle has nearly died and I would like to import the songs on it into a playlist on itunes to then be able to put it onto my new shuffle without having to start building the list from scratch again.
Any help much appreciated.
Jo

  • Transfering huge play list from windows to Itunes.

it has been a while since i synced music to my ipod, and now i cannot figure out how to transfer songs from windows media player to itunes. The playlist has a lot of songs, and my music files are not organized,so it would take a long time to copy and paste songs to itunes. I do not remember if there is a chance of copying one play list to another. Thank you.

You might find this thread has some useful ideas. You should be able to add all your iTunes compatible media to iTunes without duplicating it.

My play lists and songs on iTunes and on my iPhone won't play.  They are light grey instead of black and nothing happens when I click on the songs.  All of the songs were either from CD's or from iTunes that I purchased. I have home sharing turned on. This is a new issue.  It used to work fine.  I tried restarting my iPhone and syncing with iTunes. Neither worked.  Please help!

Try delete those songs using iTunes by de-selecting and sync. After that mark those songs and sync again.

  • With the new update iTunes lost my important play lists. Anyone else?

With the new update iTunes lost my important play lists. Anyone else?

If you have a backup on iCloud or iTunes you would not have lost all your data, the update went fine on my phone and my wifes and many others. On forums you dont see the millions of users saying it went well, just the few with issues. If you had no backup thats not Apples fault, thats yours. The same will happen whatever platform you go to if you dont back your data up.

  • PLEASE HELP! My Ipod touch will not play anything from or in itunes.

I don't know what to do. For the first 4 months everything was great then all of a sudden my Ipod would no longer play anything from or in itunes. I can not transfer anything from itunes to it either. It looks like it has been transferred on the ipod and in itunes under my device but it will not play anything. I can download directly into the ipod and its fine.  I listen to audio books from library sites as well as buy them but now it does not work unless it can go directly in the ipod which library sites need to come from your computer and them be transferred after its downloaded.  Can anyone help me?  I even have a brand new ipod thinking it was the other one but its not. I have windows 7 64 bit. Also I have uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changes. Thank you.

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next restore from backup
    - Last, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Receive message after importing serveral songs from CD into iTunes (latest ver 11.1.5.5)... "Error occurred while converting the file 'songname'.  The required folder cannot be found."  CD/DVD ROM is no longer recognized until restart.

Consistently receive the following message after importing serveral songs from CD into iTunes (latest ver 11.1.5.5)...
"Error occurred while converting the file 'songname'.  The required folder cannot be found."
CD/DVD ROM is no longer recognized until computer is restarted.

I have the same problem.  I recently moved my music from a Vista PC to a new Laptop with an external CD drive. It will copy one song from the CD and it will show in the Music file and then I get the message ' Error importing a CD - Folder not found'.  I must unplug the CD drive and plug it back in.  I have seen no fix for this problem.

I have been syncing my iphone with my Pc Windows 8 Itunes.  I thought it would automatically take my "top Rated" music from my Computer and add it to my phone.  What can I do to make this happen?  And since there are levels of ratings can I sort the play list by the 5 star one down??  thanks guys

    Hi DebbieLC!
I have an article for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. We have an article that explains what to do if you have no content in your iTunes after updating, and it can be found here:

  • Can't import or play tracks from CD in Itunes

    Hi,
I am unable to import or play any of my songs from my CDs in ITunes 6.0.2. In the past, I had no problem with this.
I tried selecting a song from a CD located on the ddesktop and opening Quicktime instead and I was once again unable to play the song. The songs in my Itunes library work fine and I am able to play these. Then I inserted an old CD again which is part of my Itunes library already and this time it refused to play or import the tracks.
By the way, a little while ago I had a problem with my MAC and lost my whole Itunes library. I downloaded a program called IPodRip in order to restore my Itunes library from my IPod. Since then I have not imported any new songs whatsoever. I am wondering if this has something to do with the problem I am experiencing now???
    Any suggestions anyone?
    Thank you

it's relatively common (at least, common enough to be mentioned in troubleshooting documents and i see it reported in posts a few times each week):

i don't have an especially good feel for how much this would help with this particular issue, but it might be worth following up on checking for upgraded firmware or drivers for the PC. these resources might be of some help with that:

  • ITunes removes podcast playing list from iPhone

This is a truly odd behaviour IMO - adds salt to injury in light of iPhone placing order of podcast oddly (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2552626&tstart=0)
    1. Create a play list consisting of podcasts on the iPhone. Everything works nicely on the iPhone until
    2. Sync with iTunes.
Boom! Your podcast list is now in iTunes but disappears from iPhone!

Kudos to iTunes 10.1 or/and iOS 4.2! The bug is now fixed, with extra bonus - and a new bug.
Before the update, another frustration was that I couldn't add any episode from iTunes U to a playlist. (Not sure if this is possible in iTunes.) Now, not only iTunes is no longer removing playlist with podcasts, but it now allows iTunes U to be included.
In fact, not only it allows both podcast and iTunes U, iTunes 10.1 even recovered all the contents it rejected in the past, and restored my test playlist to include everything I attempted to include that is still on the iPhone.
The only problem is: I could no longer maintain any edit I made on iPhone. As the restored list became so big, I cleared the list, added the few items I wanted. But as soon as I resync, the long, unwieldy list comes back!

  • How do you delete play lists from an iPod that is sharing the same itunes account as your iphone?

Hi, I've just purchased my daughter an iPod Touch, I've registed the iPod on my iTunes account, but now it has all the same play lists that I have on my iPhone - some of the music isn't suitable but I can't delete any of it.  Does anybody know how I could delete the playlists - I don't think songs with the f bomb are suitable for 7 year olds!!! Help PLEASE....

You can eventurally set a different Sync scheme for your daughtere's ipod Touch device when it connects to your itunes.
Make sure you click on "Selected playlists" and then choose which playlists you want synced to your daughter's iPod. The rest will be deleted off her device with the next iTunes sync:

  • I accidentally deleted my whole i tune library. I was able to retrieve the entire library, but all my play lists have dissapeared and iTunes says that my ipod is not synced with this computer. Can i sync my playlists from my ipod to my itunes?

i accadentally deleted my entire library (over 10,000 song) when i was trying to delete an old back up file off an external hard drive. Now when i open I Tunes and connect my ipod, a message says tht my ipod is not synced with this computer. This is the only computer this ipod has ever been synced to, so i don't know how to reconnect the two. I was able to restore all my music to the itunes library, but I lost all my playlists. I spent considerable time creating the playlists and they are stll on my ipod. Can I somehow sync in a way that my ipod can give the computer my play lists?

With your iPod connected to iTunes right->click on it's device name in the left hand pane of iTunes under devices and select Export Playlists.

    Hi macjake2,
The article below may be able to help you with this issue.
Click on the link below to see more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
    Genius for iPod and iPhone
You can create Genius playlists in iTunes with preset limits of 25, 50, 75, or 100 songs. When you save Genius playlists and sync them to your iPod or iPhone, they contain the same songs that were present in the playlist on your computer.
I hope this information helps ....

  • List from Ipod to itunes?

Hello I had to install Itunes new. Now all my lists and albums disappeared. I have them on my Ipod. Can I bring them to Itunes. What can i do for the future, if I have to install again new?
    Thanks alot

Make a backup of the ITL database file. It holds all the play lists, ratings, play counts, etc.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660
Assuming you put all your music back in the same place, you can open itunes using that library and be good to go. I back that file up weekly, more often if I've added lots of music and ALWAYS before an itunes update.
And I don't know how important those playlists are to you - if you feel like shelling out about $20 for a 3rd-party ipod manager, such as CopyTrans, you can get them from the ipod.

  • How do you transfer your play lists from one hard drive to another on the same computer?

I had itunes running on my old computer.
    The mother board gave up.
Got another computer and put the good drive from the old computer into the newer one as a slave.
I have itunes all set up but can't figure out were to get my play lists and cover art to get them to the new drive/program.
    Bob

Hold shift when you launch iTunes. It will let you chose a library. Chose the one one the slave drive from your old computer and it will look just like it did when you last used it on the old one.
It will be located in your User folder under My Music\iTunes
