Import portal theme error
Hi all,
when I import a portal theme in the portal system administrator,a error happened,"An exception occurred while processing the request; see log for details",and where I can find the error log file,thanks!
Hi Louis
You had two systems, example DEV and QAS.
Try do that
1- Go to QAS -> System Administration -> Portal Display -> Desktops & Display Rules -> Portal Content -> themes
2- Delete the new theme
3- Go to DEV -> System Administration -> Portal Display -> Theme Transport
4- Export the theme
5- Go to QAS -> System Administration -> Portal Display -> Theme Transport -> import the theme
Good Luck

The format is Binary. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi,
I've copied the standart "sap tradeshow" theme to TEST and set is as default for everyone by changing the default main rule settings. But someting looks wrong and when i call portal URL, it appears but when i logged in it displays an empty page.
How can I change this setting to "sap tradeshow" again?
thanxIf you want to make sap tradeshow as the default theme these are the following steps
1.go to system administration>>Portal display>>choose desktop and display rules.
2.browse portal contents>>Portal users>>Standard Portal Users>> Default Portal Desktop.
3.open it, you can see radio buttons for themes.
4. select the theme you need and set it as default(using the button at the bottom of the table).
5. Save it and close
6. refresh the page
This is how you set themes as default for every one
Hope this helps

Error while importing the theme in the portal
Hi All,
When iam trying to import one existing portal theme, iam getting the following error.
Exception caught during theme import: java.lang.IllegalStateException: "portal.zip" does not exist !
Portal.Zip file exists in the theme zip file.
Please advice.
Thanks
SekharSekhar,
1.Please check for the portal.zip file in the theme.zip and ensure the size of this file to be around 100KB or more.
2.Also, try deleting your cookies and temp files before doing this process again.
3. Download these themes and see if it works.

Importing the Theme Showing error message
Hello All,
I have created one theme(My Theme), there in Detail Navigation the Theme is not reflecting, so Exported the Theme outside and made changes on that (My Theme -> Portal.zip -> default.properties), and Imported to my Server. while importing it is showing the Error as,
An exception occurred while processing the request; see log for details
Helpful answers will be rewarded.
Regards,
Aksiti.Namaste Aksiti,
The theme which you have created will be listed in
System Administration->Portal Display->Desktop and Display rules->Portal content(folder)->Themes(folder)
The error is coming because it is trying to overwrite the existing file. Tick the check box 'Overwrite existing file' while you import the theme or change the theme name in metaData.Properties

I guess, you need to increase heap size in JVM of J2EE. I should be at least 1GB.
Please have a look at SAP Note : 710146 for how to change heap size in JVM of J2EE.
Hope this will surely help.

PradnyaAnother thought about this :
It's the deserialization that fails saying that the <DisplayName> child of <response> is not defined in the schema. Shouldn't we read that as follows : the response received indeed does include a tag named <DisplayName>, but there is no way of mapping this to the class structure of the generated proxy so that this value can be used to rehydrate an instance of that class with it.
Now, if we look at the WSDL file for the UME Web Service we find this for the GetUser0 method's response message :
- <wsdl:message name="getUserResponse">
<wsdl:part name="response" type="tns0:IUserInfo" />
</wsdl:message>
The response is of type IUserInfo. This type is defined in the WSDL file as outlined below :
- <complexType name="IUserInfo">
- <sequence>
<b> <element name="DisplayName" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" /></b> <element name="Locale" nillable="true" type="tns1:Locale" />
<element name="Title" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
<element name="Groups" nillable="true" type="intf:ArrayOf_xsd_string" />
<element name="UniqueName" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
<element name="Roles" nillable="true" type="intf:ArrayOf_xsd_string" />
<element name="Email" nillable="true" type="intf:ArrayOf_xsd_string" />
<element name="UniqueId" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
<element name="FirstName" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
<element name="LastName" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
<element name="Company" nillable="true" type="xsd:string" />
</sequence>
</complexType>
The WSDL definition for IUserInfo clearly does have this elment.
Another thing : I'm using the exact same web service from a .Net web service client. The proxies generated with the Visual Studio .Net tools do not throw this error. Which raises the question : is it indeed a WSDL problem or is there a bug in the proxy generation in NW DS ? -
Portal theme switcher generates scroll error in RTL
Portal theme switcher using standard objects generates scroll error in RTL
Following the Blog for Switching Themes by Topic - A Color Code System for the Portal [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?
blog=/pub/wlg/2053]
I developed a portal application and placed it in the page framework.
It works fine using Left To Right (LTR) languages but when using a Right To Left (RTL) languages like Hebrew and Arabic a long scroll appears in the lower part of the portal window and the masthead is moved a bit with no relation to the position of the other sections (iViews) of the screen.
I know its a custom development but it uses a standard SAP API.
The system version of the portal is NW 7 SP 14Hi Yolanda,
it´s as you already figured out - 0FISCPER is the problem.
When you want to create new lines, there can not be a dynamic characteristic in the columns. Each column has to be defined with single values.
Try to create restricted key figures for the periods you need to show.

Portal runtime error, custom logon page HElpp
Hi,
I'm new to EP, please kindly help me to solve my problem
I've read so many topic about this, but I still can't understand what I'm supposed to do.
I want to change umHelpPage, so I download by using system administration -> support -> support desk -> portal runtime -> browse deployment -> root -> web-inf -> portal ->portalapps -> com.sap.runtime.logon
Then, download and I make certain changes in UmHelpPage, directly in winzip,without extract it. Save, and then change .zip to .par, by using system administration -> support -> support desk -> portal runtime -> administratioin console -> upload -> com.sap.runtime.logon.par
At first, after I upload the com.sap.runtime.logon, all of my jsp files are missing. And then I'm facing the following error :
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
The exception was logged. Inform your system administrator..
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Previously, I have backed up my com.sap.runtime.login.par in my local. After several times trying to upload , my jsp files still missing. Then, I tried to copied them manually one by one, from my original backup to folder /irj/root/web-inf/portal/portalapps using unix. But, the error still exists.
I also download .bak one in the pcd directory and renamed in .par and upload it again, but it doesn't make any changes.
I've also checked the .jar files. In my lib folder I have 2 files :
- com.sap.runtime.logon.logon_api.jar
- umelogonbase.jar
but i don't have the com.sap.runtime.logon.logon_core.jar one. Is the file also important ? if so, in which directory I can have it?
Please tell me, what I have to do ?
I have original back up in my local, and seems like I accidentaly erase the original one in the portal.Hi Desiana,
I think you are missing something in your portalapp.xml
See the sample..

Hello,
We need some help because we get 'Portal Runtime error: iView: N/A Component Name:N/A' error when trying to access portal logon screen.
This is what we've done:
We've modified com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file and we've uploaded it but it doesn't work. Because of the error, we've overwritten this file with the original one but now it's imposible to access portal.
The situation it seems to be like before the modification of the .par file but we get the same error and can't access portal.
Please, do you know what could be the problem?
Thanks in advanceHi Belen,
Here are the steps you would need to take
1. import the original par file into the NWDS and name the project as
com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
2. Make sure the project name is com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
3. use winzip/winrar to extract the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file in
a local directory
4.Under the lib you would find two jar files copy them and paste them in your project
under dist>PORTAL-INF>lib directory
5.move the files cert....till umResetPass....jsp into the PORTAL-INF directory
6. export the par to the server in question
7. restart your server
This should solve your problem..
Thanks,

Portal Runtime Error while accessing BW reports through portal
Hi,
We are facing portal runtime error(An exception occurred while processing your request. Please send the exception id to your portal administrator) while accessing BI reports through portal frequently.

Portal Runtime Error in ESS iview
Hi All,
I have implemented ESS 50.4 on EP 6.0 SP9. For SAP IAC iviws i am getting following error.
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : pcd:portal_content/AFDB/Role/ESSRole/Office/SAPInbox/SAPInbox
Component Name : com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.IAC
Error in executing a process for compilation.
Exception id: 03:10_06/05/06_0031_4156850
See the details for the exception ID in the log file.
In the log file i am getting following error message.
com.sap.engine.services.connector.exceptions.BaseResourceException: "ConnectionManager" is closed. Possible reasons: 1) connector "SAPEPPDB" is stopped or not started, 2) Connector service is stopped or has not been started.
Please help me to resolve the problem its very urgent.

VaishaliHi Vaishali,
Nice to hear from you again.
Hope you are doing good.
I am not sure whether the error that you mentioned is the right one for this issue, but if this is the case, just to inform you that a new note has been released in this regard. Please check sap note: 1600085 as well and set the parameters accordingly.
Usually we need to see what kind of code is using the concerned connection.
Incase the issue persists, proceed as follows (it wil be better to do this when the value of the number of connections is really high, so that identifying the root cause can be easy.
1)
Set the severity of "com.sap.engine.services.connector.jca.ConnectionHashSet" to DEBUG.
You can change the severity of a location using the guide in the link below:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/47/af551efa711503e10000000a42189c/frameset.htm
2)
- connect to the AS-JAVA via telnet
- then execute these commands:
> add connector
> switch_debug_mode SAPEPPDB (or the datasource name)
> jump (to go to the next servernode if you have multiple ones)
> add connector
> switch_debug_mode SAPEPPDB
... and so on on all the servernodes
- then wait for a few hours in order to see the connections not being
released
- go back to the telnet console and call:
> list_conn SAPEPPDB -showTrace > server0.txt
> jump
> list_conn SAPEPPDB -showTrace > server1.txt
... and so on on all the servernodes
The serverX.txt files will be generated in the ../j2ee/cluster/server directories. Just check them to get more info.
Thank you!
Kind Regards,
Hemanth
