Import Powerpoint to Keynote '09 causes this "import error" "out of memory"

Import Powerpoint file (1.6MB - Powerpoint 97-2004) to Keynote '09 causes this message "import error" "out of memory". Import process fails. What is going on??

Hi katie, and welcome to the forums.
How large is the document meant to be and how much free space do you have on your hard drive (look at the bottom of any finder window for the amount of space available) ?
Does the file start to download, but then stop with this message, or does it appear as soon as the download begins, or, alternatively, after it has downloaded when you try to open it?
The most likely explanation is that the file itself is corrupt.
Another possibility, though, is that you have some directory corruption.
Answers to the above questions will help us work out the most likely scenario.
Cheers
Rod

This is for Microsoft SQL Server, not for Oracle.
If you get "out of memory" it's not a database logfile problem but a memory problem.

My final cut studio keeps giving me this error out of memory message when ever i try to render a piece of footage and its closing unexpected. Does anybody know the reason?

I had this problem about 2 months ago and, as others have suggested in this thread, eventually traed it backed to some stills I had scanned and brought into the project.  Accidentally I had changed the scanner settings, with the result that a couple of skills were well beyond 1980 x 1020 pixels.  I resampled the stills and everything was fine again.  Hope this might help.

  • Import package Out of Memory.

    HI,all
I'm having a problem importing a package from one enviroment to another, it gives me Out Of Memory.
It's a package the hasn't been update in more then a year of executions.
I've already tried to increase the Max heap size in the odiparam.
The ODI logs have never been purge can it be the reason for this?
Is there a way do purge the log of a specific package or scenario?
    Thanks,
    André

Yes excessive logs could cause this issue. You should always, in my opinion, have a log management process in place otherwise you could be storing up much worse issues further down the line. You can manage session logs from within the Operator console or you can create a utility package which automates the log management using calls to the ODI Log management Tools

  • Import Manager Out of Memory error

I am running MDM 5.5.24.06 server on Windows XP Professional. The server has 4.0 GB RAM with 1.5 GB Virtual memory.
I am trying to load 129 material master records from R/3 4.6 ( XML file size 8 MB), into MDM using Import Manager.
When I click on import icon (Import Status tab selected), MDM Import Manager rightway returns 'Out of Memory' error.
Tried to import the file again after rebooting the machine, restarting MDM Server, but still it returned the same error.
Has anybody tried loading the R/3 material data into MDM? What's the experience? What was the load (# of records)?
What was MDM IM performance? What's your hardware/software config?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Abhay

    Hi Abhay,
My workstation has Windows 2000, Pentium 4 CPU 3.2 Ghz, 515,555 KB RAM.  The recommended specifications can be found on service market place of SAP, and we used those to procure our workstations.
MDM server must be more pwerful than a workstation.  Try running the import manager from the server machine itself.  If it works there but not on your machine, it is memory of your workstation.
Sometimes, I think this error comes when import map some issues- fields not mapped accurately or remote key mapped wrong etc.
It is probably judicious to rpove the system memory as first step.
    Good luck!

  • "Spreadsheet couldn't be imported. Out of memory."

I can't open a 3MB excel file that has several sheets, including one with a few thousand rows.  It says I run out of memory.  Is filesize my problem?  If so, what is max size?  I also heard rumors that multiple sheets and lots of rows could cause problems.  Using iOS 4.2.8 (8E401).  Lots of memory available on my phone.

I wouldn't be surprised if a "few thousand rows" had the effect of causing a complaint from an iPhone. In Numbers terms, a few thousand rows is large even on a Mac, but not large enough to choke it.
There's an iOS community that might be better able to answer your question:

  • Is this really an out of memory error?

I get the following output from running the pl/sql script below. I can't believe this is an actual out of memory error because the query involved returns only 51 rows. If I run the cursor query from the command line it takes about 5sec and returns 51 rows. The server this is running on is doing nothing else. We successfully run pl/sql scripts that use huge amounts of memory on this server and have never seen this error.
Any idea what could be going on here?

       END loop;
        CLOSE date_components ;
    END find_invalid_dates ;\

As it turns out this probably was a genuine out of memory error. While I was trying to figure out what was going on, I accidently ran the exact query from the pl/sql procedure.
         CURSOR date_components IS SELECT
         a.id,
         a.res_name ,
         a.yearcollected,
         a.monthcollected,

         a.startyearcollected,
         a.startmonthcollected,
         a.startdaycollected,
         a.endyearcollected,
         a.endmonthcollected,
         a.enddaycollected
FROM expandeddigircache a WHERE a.res_name=res_name           I was expecting 51 records, I got considerable more before the out of memory error occurred.
I believe the query as written returns everything in the table. In this case 20mil+ records.
The fundamental problem was that the parameter to the procedure was called res_name and the where clause tested a column called res_name. pl/sql did not consider them two different names. So I think the net result was a where clause of the form WHERE 'a'='a'
When I changed the parameter name to p_res_name and the where clause to WHERE res_name=p_res_name the procedure worked as expected.

  • What is causing this JDeveloper error DCA-40002 in the WSDL document

    I'm attempting to import a WSDL document in Jdev (11.1.1) and I'm getting the following error;
DCA-40002: The WSDL document is invalid due to the following reason: oracle.j2ee.ws.mdds.AtomicPrototypeImpl cannot be cast to oracle.websevices.mdds.ComplexPrototype.
This WSDL is being used by other applications without any problems. Also, I recall importing this same WSDL into JDev 10g without any errors.
    Thanks.

Last night I revisited the problem and discovered that I had not emptied the Print Shop Importer from the trash. I emptied the trash, restarted the computer, and the error messages stopped. Also before I restarted the computer I noted that Time Machine had stopped backing up and that Spotlight was indexing the hard drive. I blocked the indexing before I restarted the computer. In any event the original problem seems to be fixed.

  • What is causing this Runtime Error!

I have been using Adobe Reader for years and had 9.0 loaded on this laptop.  I do lots of .pdf files and spreadsheets. Two weeks ago I allowed an update for Adobe and ever since then I get a Runtime Error! every time I try to open one of my saved .pdf files or even the one that I just formated and saved, it won't reopen.  I have VISTA and prior to this update, I had no problems with Reader at all. Shortly after clicking on the .pdf file I get this window -
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program:C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Reader9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have tried to research the Adobe site for help and even contacted Adobe by phone with no success.  I've called twice and been put on hold and tonight after 28 minutes I finally hung up. I went into my Control Panel and uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.0 and downloaded & installed Reader 9.3 and still have the same problem.  I can save my files on a thumb drive and open any .pdf file on any other computer that has Reader.  What is the problem with this laptop since that update two weeks ago?  This is causing me lots of lost work and duplication.
Thanks for any input on how to correct this problem. I currently have Reader 9.3 loaded.

There's something similar in OSS note 1002788. Is it relevant to your system?

  • Does anyone understand what may cause this cryptic error ?

I am using PP CS6, on a fully updated Windows 8 Enterprise machine located in a Windows 2012 network environment, 2 Xeon E5-2650,64 Gb RAM, 2 4Gb GTX 680 cards and Samsung 512 SSD. PP CS6 has been running fine for a long time with no issues until now. Project media files on an USB3 seagate external drive and scratch disks located on a eSata GDATA external drive. Borix BCC 9, FCC 7, Reg Giant Shooter suite, Tiffen DFX suite installed. A few months back, I prepared all the media creating several sequences, one for each main subject, to be assembled later. Then, when I got back to it and started working on them, if I did the slightest modification and tried to save and reopen the file, I would get the following error :
Note that this path does not even exist on my system !!!
When clicking on continue it gives:
Which means : "Impossible to open, It sounds like it is dammaged or contains stale elements"
I tried Googling this error and could not find anything regarding that specifically. I saw some similar error, which some people tried to fix using XML Wrench tool, OMG !! I tried to do that, I also tried using some sofisticated XML tools to find differences, I tried to see that was different between the original "openable" file and the problem one. I did see, like some people mentioned the presences of DOTS instead of COMMAS, and tried to change that, of course this did not do anything.
I also tried using Pro tools installed on my wife's Mac machine and tried to repair the file, the best I came to was to delete all transitions and media connexions, but then, it was more time consuming to reconnect all media than restarting the whole thing.
I actually was able to recover one of the sequence only, which still was a relief, but that was it.
I tried opening the file directly on the Mac (with a trial PP CS6 version installed) but it gave the same error as above.
I also tried it on my Windows laptop which has everything installed, but would get the same error. So it sounds like PP is corrupting the projects as it is creating them. I survived that edit by exporting everthing as I went along to not loose time.
Today I removed CS6, and used the Adobe CC cleaning tool. I tried to open the problem project file but same error. But this is no surprise since it did the same elsewhere.
One other odd thing, everytime I open an older project, the time line is streched to the max, as if an older config is stuck.
I did a test with the newly installed PPCS6 and I am still experiencing the same error !
Anyone having any clue to the meaning of that error ? !!

I was able to reproduce the error. I worked on one of the project that was recovered but stripped and replaced all the key-frames. No problem opening and saving, UNTIL I started to add effects, only added LOOKS from DFX and the Fast color corrector, then the error showed up. I tested it with only these two errors on only one tiny sequence section.
