Import Real Audio files?

I've got several hundred Real Audio files (*.ra and *.rm) that I'd like to convert/import into my iTunes library. Is there a freeware/cheapware program to do that?

Just do a search on yahoo or google. I just did and it pulled up abunch of converters. Just overlook them and pick the best one for your needs and taste

Can I import .cda audio file in iTunes on my Macbook Pro with OS X Yosemite

    iNads,
.CDA files are simple index files, less than 1 kB in size, that do not contain any audio.  There is no reason to import them.
If you have the physical CD and wish to rip it into iTunes, you can import it per this guide:  iTunes 12 for Mac: Import songs from CDs

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Assuming it's in the correct format, select your phone from the device list in iTunes on your computer, select the music tab and check the music you wish to sync.

the other option would be to use an App like Audiobook Builder to stitch the tracks together in upto 12 hour long sections and sends to itunes automatically. It is available in the App Store. There are others available, Audiobook binder is free

  • Import an audio file in diadem

    Hi there,
I have to open/import an audio file (WAV or MP3) in DIAdem (Ver 10.2.0f3031) to make some analysis. For this I installed the Audio dataplugin (Ver. 1.0.0.247). Butr if I open the WAv-file in the Navigator I get an error message, saying that the opeing failed. The WAV file seems not to be corrupted, cause it can be played on a media player.
    What am I doing wrong?
Is there another way to transform an audio file into a TDM-file?

    Hi Adrià,
Thanks for the data set, I now know what was going wrong.  It was actually quite easy to debug the problems in my DIAdem 2010 Alpha version, which sports a new feature to play back any channel in the Data Portal as audio.
There were 2 issues.  The first is that you have to add a time base to the data channel before you export it, the second is that you have to rescale the amplitude of the signal to the bit range (+/- 2^31) of a WAV file.  Here's a quick VBScript that does that, which I did test in DIAdem 10.2:
    Channel = 1WavFilePath = ChnPropValGet(Channel, "sourcedatafilepath") & ChnPropValGet(Channel, "sourceparentname") & ".wav"Call ChnWfPropSet(Channel, "Time", "s", 0, 1/41000) Amplitude = MaxV(Abs(CMin(Channel)), CMax(Channel))Call ChnLinScale(Channel, Channel, 2^31/Amplitude, 0)Call ChnCharacter(Channel)IF FilEx(WavFilePath) THEN Call FileDelete(WavFilePath)Call DataFileSave(WavFilePath, "Audio")

  • Something to play Real Audio files? (.ra)

I sometimes see Real Audio files on websites, on Windows, they have RealPlayer that will play them.  Is there a similar app on linux/Arch.  I'm mostly interested in Audio (*.ra), though I am also curious about the video files (*.ram).
I'm hoping to find a plug-in for mozilla-firefox, or link in an outside app.
I've been searching through the package database, but didnt see anything.
    thx

Hrmmm ... perhaps the problem is with 'mplayer-plugin', 'cause when I do an 'about:plugins' in FireFox I don't see any entries for '.rm', '.rpm', etc.:

  • Importing Quicktime Audio File into itunes

I have a couple quicktime audio files that I'm trying to import into my itunes library. When I try to simply drag them into my itunes library it will not accept them.
Also I tried using the import control from the itunes window, but when I choose the the quicktime file to import it also will not go into my library. These files where orginally windows media files inwhich I converted over using the "flip4mac" program to convert the windows media files to quicktime files, but neither file type will import into itunes.
These files were simply voice recordings from a digital recorder, how do I get these audio files into my itunes library?? ... Thanks

Ya, looks like the file is still a real WMA file and all that application did was give your QT the ability to play WMA files perhaps? I am not familiar with that one. You need to locate a WMA to MP3 file converter. Some that come to mind are MediaMonkey, EasyWMA, and there are many others. Those first two might both be shareware programs and I don't have any first hand experience with them. I really haven't had the need to do this type of conversion (yet) so haven't looked into the various applications. Perhaps someone reading this can chime in if they know any free ones that work.
In the meantime, hit up versiontracker.com or download.com and do a search and see what you find. But the root cause of your problem is that the file is still in the wrong format for iTunes and iPod use.

  • Is there a way to import an audio file (WAV) with markers?

I used a TASCAM DR-100-MK2 audio recorder to record conference presentations. The TASCAM has a function button which can be used to create markers in the audio file. I used this "marker" button to create a marker every time the presenter changed the PowerPoint/Keynote slides. I was hoping I could import the WAV file into FCPX and see the markers, and then drop each slide at the markers (after converting the slides into JPG files). However, I am not able to see the markers on the audio file. Is this something I can do in FCPX? If so, what do I need to do in order to see the markers?
A quick response is greatly apprecaited because I´m on a deadline. Thanks.

    Tom,
Thanks for quick response. When I play the WAV file in QT player, I don´t see anything but the "start/stop" button, the "fast forward", "fast backward" and volume control. Shoule I see anything else?

  • Premiere Pro CC won't import ANY audio file, be it an mp3 or part of an mp4 video (or other formats)

Any audio or video file I drop in to premiere will almost immediately pop up with the window
    Audio Conforming Error
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.
When I check the error/event log (little red X in the bottom corner) that window says:
"11/21/14 09:47:28  A disk error occurred while attempting to access the following files:
    \\ipsse01\home$\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files\filename.mp3 44100.cfa"
(The actual file is on my desktop)
This happens with everything, even the stock audio files Windows comes with in the "Sample Music" folder, I tried those too to no avail.
I'm at a complete loss. I'm new to premiere pro but these are generic file formats so I don't think the issue is with the file. I haven't tried to reinstall because I'd have to go to our one network administrator/IT person (who also is the accountant for the company) so she can enter the admin user name/password in the pop up box, and she's often so busy. I'm trying to avoid bugging her if I don't need to (which unfortunately I tend to still have to do a lot)
    For reference I'm running Win7 Professional 64-bit, 8GB RAM, and an i7-4610M CPU @ 3.00 GHz.

    Neila@IPSUMM wrote:
Thanks for responding, but I work for a very small company and since I'm the only one who needs CC, I have the personal version installed.
Also this appears to be a blanket issue with all audio and video file formats, thus not likely a codec issue since the files I've tried so far should be covered by premiere's compatibility, the even play in windows media player with no issue.
Video itself plays fine, but any audio attached to a video, or just plain audio files will not import no matter what I try.
    Sorry my info didn't help.
    Two things to try.
Create a brand new project and test if you can import the problematic files.
If that does not work, change the name of the folder that contains your media files. Then try to import.
    Let us know what happens.
    Thanks,

  • Assistance needed in trying to import MP3 audio file into Slide Show

I get the following message when trying to import an MP3 audio file into a slideshow in Organizer 9 "The selected file can not be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor(codec) installed. I am pulling the file from my Itunes folder and I have not had problems with any other file I have downloaded from itunes and changed to an MP3 format.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I really want to use this song in a slideshow for my parents 50th Anniversary.

Best GUESS is that DRM is getting in the way of the file being used outside of iTunes (DRM = Digital Rights Mgmt = Copy Protection)

  • Trying to import .mov audio file and burn as MP3

Can someone point me to a thread, or be kind enough to post answer, about how I might successfully import a .mov audio file and wind up burning it as an MP3. I've been dinking around with this for too long. I can import it and end up with it in the format: MPEG-1, Layer 3. But when I burn it to CD and play it on a Sony boom box, I hear nothing. I tried playing it in another iMac and hear nothing.
    Thanks.

I was hoping someone in this forum could point me in the right direction to a web site that is designed specifically for Garage Band users that need sound effects.

  • How to best import existing audio files into iTunes?

    Hello,
In sum, my question is:  What is the difference between adding music to iTunes Library by the following methods:
    Placing the audio files in the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' Folder;
Dragging the files from my hard drive to the Source Pane in iTunes; or
Using the File > Add Folder to Library dialogue?
Here are the particulars of my situation:
I have over 3,000 music files, and I would like to know the best way to get them into iTunes. From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the *best* way to do this. For example, can I just *move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?
Will iTunes *move* the files that it is able to manage OUT of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes? Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes?
Thanks for your advice and opinions!
    ~Antonio

    Hello tt2,
I have given this a lot of thought and attention over the last few days.  As well, I appreciate very much your input and offers of help.
The major 'problem' that I have is that the files are most definitely not consistently named.  For example, they include the likes of the following:
    07 - Song Name - Song Artist.mp3
    01 - Song Artist_Song Name.wma
    Song Name [Song Artist].aac
And these are only examples, based on my trying to get across how variant the names are.  The actual file names are far more wildly various than even these, seemingly consistent file names.
So, this is what I was thinking of doing, per your suggestion:
An alternative aproach would be to use something like MediaMonkey (has advanced filename/path to tag tools) or MusicBrainz Picard (attempts to match audio fingerprints) to update the tags before the files get introduced to iTunes.
    Then...
    1. Move the files into the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder, then let iTunes have a go at getting them in to iTunes.
    2. Using either Tuneup or MusicBrainz Picard (Any comment on which is better?) to cleanup the file names (again) properly; and
    3. Then using your script to force iTunes to update itself, based on any new id3 data.
Does this sound like madness?  Or is it a good solution for this application?  I am very grateful for your, or any other, input.
    Take good care,
    ~Antonio
