Import repository from Designer concerning non-versioned applications (EA2)

Hello
I've downloaded last version of Data Modeler -> v3.0 EA2 because correcting bug about import from designer for non-versioned applications.
I tried to import from my Designer connection but I can see only versionned applications ! I would like to see all the applications (like in Data Modeler v2). Version 3 EA2 is supposed to correct the problem ?!
The exact version is V3.0.0.653 ! Is that right ????

On our designer we have ; one workarea and 22 Applications system and several sub-application system. Only a couple on these applications systems are versionned.
I would like to import the 20 applications and sub-applications in Data Modeler but even if I have the Data modeler EA2 I cannot see them ! I was talking about the Data modeler version lattest version (EA2). Is it the V3.0.0.653 ?

because of bug 9231534
I try to import data from a delimited file that contains the number "123,23"
When I use the Import Data Wizard it generates an insert with "12323.0". This import works, but gives me the wrong values, 12323 instead of 123,23.
I have 3.1 with german UI and try the same import.
It generates a correct insert "123.23", but on executing it fails, because it expects the german decimal separator, this is wrong for two reasons:
The generated script has a dot as decimal separator and it would not make sense to use a comma, because this is the value separator in an insert script.
To execute the script it should use the same NLS-Setting as for generating.

Upgrade of Designer repository from 6i to latest version

Is the designer repository supported in a 10gR2 database?
We plan to upgrade to the latest developer suite and i'm working on a POC. I've upgraded the repository database to 10gR2. Now, i plan to install the latest version of developer suite on a client box and then run the RAU to upgrade the repository.
Has anyone done this? And can share his/her experience?

According to the Metalink note about this (Note:60705.1), both 9i and 10g Designer can run on 10gR2 databases. You're right to upgrade though, because the 6i repository is not certified on that database.
By the by, latest full Developer Suite is 10.1.2.0.2. But there is a newer Designer (v 10.1.2.2) available, which that same Metalink note says is certified with the base 10.1.2.0.2 Developer. I'd go with the newest Designer if I were you.

Import model from Designer looses domains

Hello,
I have tried to import a model from Oracle Designer into Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, and found that the domains where not imported. As a consequence all attributes defined by domains (most of ours) are defined by the domain "Unknown" after the import.
How can I import the domains from Oracle Designer?

I'm using OSDM build 570 with Designer version 10.1.2.0.2. The repository is not versioned. All the domains belong to the imported application system.
This is the import log:

Fragments from Designer in previous versions of Forms?

Hi all
Before we get our test environment up with the Livecycle ES version, I've got a question concerning the use of fragments if anybody can answer it.
If I create a form and use fragments to keep scripts etc up to date in multiple forms, how would that work if I render it in Forms 7? I'm well aware of the fact that the "update" functionality wouldn't work, but I would be able to just reopen the xdp and save it with the updates. It would be nice to be able to start using fragments although it would take some time before we get the complete environment up and running. If not, we will have more forms without fragments which will mean more work later...

A little bit of theory on fragments.
When you design a form with fragments, the main XDP contains references to the fragments (which are also XDPs). Those references are resolves by LiveCycle Forms (fragment XDPs are imported into parent XDP) before the PDF is generated. So we really pass an XDP with no fragments to LC Forms, therefore the PDF doesn't have a concept of fragments.
Now back to your question. If you design you XDPs with fragments and do a PDF Preview, before the PDF is rendered, the fragment will be resolved and the resulted PDF will not contain any fragments. You can save that PDF back to the file system and reopen it in Form Designer and save it as an XDP. This way you'll end up with an XDP that looks exactly the same but with no fragments (all the fragments were resolved by the creation of the PDF).
Then save that new XDP and you should be able to pass that XDP to LiveCycle Forms 7.x since it doesn't contain fragments.
On a different topic, if you use the turn key install of LiveCycle ES, you can get it up an running pretty quickly (hours). You can get a trial version and play with it. Maybe you can do that while you get you complete environment up and running.

One cannot import/export reports across different operating concerns (through standard options provided by SAP). The primary reason being each operating concern is supposed to have different structure (characteristics and value fields).
One can however, import reports, forms etc. from one client to another for the same operating concern.

There is a repository from Designer 6.0, DB-Version: Oracle 8i

I have to migrate this repository for Designer 6i, DB-Version:
Oracle 8i Release 8.1.7.0.0.
Chapter "Migrating data from an existing pre-6i repository to a

To use a repository from a release of Oracle Designer earlier
than 6i, you must migrate the data in it from a live release
2.1.2 or release 6.0 repository (this is the "source
repository") into a release 6i repository that you have already
created (this is the "target repository").
But I haven't button "Migrate" in Designer 6.0.
What can I do?

The migrate button is available from the Target Repository

Import from Designer crashes with IMAGE data type

I'd like to report an issue with Data Modeler while importing from Oracle Designer. If you consider this a bug, please let me know if I need to do anything else to request a fix for it.
I've used the import > Oracle Designer Model tool to import an application model. The import runs fine for a while, then crashes with a message "There are errors in import - check log file".
The application to be imported has 509 domains, 963 entities to import.
The summary info displayed after the import (when I close the error message pop up) is:

Failed statements: 0
Not recognized statements: 934

I see the issue with the IMAGE data type in the log. The model to be imported does have domains and entities using this data type. The domain actually did get imported, but it shows as "Unknown" logical type, even though there is an Image type available in the Data Modeler type list. None of the entities using IMAGE got imported.
Please let me know if you can provide a fix or workaround for this (other than changing the format in Designer).

Hello Beatriz,
definitely this is a bug. The problem with entities is not IMAGE data type it's supported there (it's overlooked for domains). The problem is volume information - Initial, Maximum, Average, Growth rate. No workaround for that.
Domain can be changed manually if it's just one affected.

Version application in 2 svn repository

Good Day All,
what is the best practice of Subversion if i want to version my application in 2 or more repository ?
let say in my office i have a svn server and application development will be centralized there.
but when we doing a on site development, all of the development will be centralized to repository inside my notebook.
below is my understanding in using SVN :
- when i import application to SVN for the first time, i will choose version application and select the desired repository location.
- i can only di switch between other repository that in the same svn connection.
- when i want to version the application into other repository (my notebook) the versioning menu from jdev, don't have version application option.

and after I created the Repository
Running the Designer produce this error:

You may want to try enabling version support in the Repository.
From the RAU, choose Options->Enable Version Support...

Import model from OWB repository

We have an OWB repository with several 100 tables, mappings, etc. what we try to import but SQL Modeler seems to import nothing although it gives no errors.
We've found that before importing all the OWB environment variables must be set.
Which we did.
Then it seems to connect to the repository, do some processing and returns but without any changes in the model.
Did anyone import model from OWB successfully?
We are using version 10.2 OWB and database.

Why cant I reorder columns by moving them in the browser? Then I could move them visually. This also applies to property paletes if I have to go to the effort of highlighting a current row then why cant I just grab it and move it?

Sounds like an issue with the iPhoto Library
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

As the photos imported to the test library you know that it works with your version of iPhoto (so, you can skip the paranoia about Apple making you upgrade). The issue then is the Library, so
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Issues in exporting/importing repository fromInformatica version 8.6 to 9.1

I completed Informatica 9.1 hotfix2 server and client installation successfully in a seperate computer(system).
Also configured repository and integration services in version 9.1.
Now I need to export Informatica 8.6 repository and import into Informatica 9.1.
Are there any steps which I need to follow to complete this process?
Can someone pls help me with these steps.
