Import Repository Objects Question

Hello experts,
I am using a XI 3.0 SP13 development system. I export some repository objects under a certain namespace to a local file. Then I delete these objects and import the local file back into XI. Strange is, it shows the import is successful, i can see the object list in the "Display Transport" screen, but none of the objects are existing in the namespace.
Any suggestion to solve it ?
Thanks a lot !

1. Check if the user XIAPPLUSER is locked
2. Test connection for SAPSLDAPI & LCRSAPRFC in sm59
3. Maintain the URL for SLD in transaction SLDAPICUST.
Do SLDCHECK now.
If this doesnt work
1. Check if the user XILDUSER is locked. If not try to reset the password .If it is locked unlock it.
2. Then, in the exchange Profile http://sap02:50000/exchangeProfile, go to Connection tab and enter the password of XILDUSER again.

  • Import Repository Object

Just a brief question about the Import Wizard.  One of the option it presents during the course of the wizard is about importing "Repository Objects".  This may seem a silly question, but what is a "repository object" and how do they differ from other objects such as folder, report and user objects?

Someone on my team said they think they might be things like custom calendars and events.  I can't confirm this though.
Just now I tried an import wizard and let it import just Repository Objects, I placed no limit on them and it seems only one was found.  It imported in and in the Detail Log I could see that it was called "Dynamic Cascading Prompts".  I am not really sure where this came from or where it exists.  Jsut thought I would share all of my knowledge on this.

  • Importing Design Objects!

    Hi All,
I have exported an repository object and am trying to import the same in another system. After doing the import it says the "Successfully Imported" but I dont find that object anywhere.
Kindly let me know the process of importing the objects in XI.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ankur

    Hi Ankur,
when you import repository object you don't have to
activate it. Only if you transport directory objects.
When your import is successfully but you can't see those
objects first check is to look to the cache replication.
Stay im Tool repository and go to menu Environment->Cache
Notification... There you will see the cache activation.
Look if you can see a line with this text "Software
Component Import to Repository" and if this line
correspond to the time you have transported your
repository objects. Check if the status is read or green.
If red you have to further check why. If you can't see
nothing then you will have problem with jms provider which
is responsible for activation the change. If so look to

  • Importing Development Objects in Integration Repository ?

    Hi ,
How do i import development objects that have been exported ? e.g , i export a "message mapping" object using Tools->Export Development Objects, could see it stored in a folder in the XI server m/c , however , when i try import development objcts option from Tools menu, i don't see an option to specify the location of the .tpz file which has to be used for import !!
Also , if i try to import the message mapping object which was created in a different namespace to my new namespace, will there be any issues ?
Are there any changes that have to be done in my new namespace( assuming i will be able to do the import in the first place).
Ne pointers as to how to do it are welcome
    Thanks
    Saravana

    Hi,
When you export 'a message mapping object'/repository objects (all objects in repository is called repository objects), it is stored under
      <install_path>/xi/repository_server/export
To import this object, you must manually copy this into
      <install_path>/xi/repository_server/import
and then choose the Tools -> Import Design Objects..." menu option to import the repository objects (only the files from the import directory can be selected).
If the import is sucessful, the import object will be moved to /importedFiles folder.
While importing, i don't think you can change the namespace of the object. After importing also it will have the same namespace as before importing.
    Hope it helps.

  • Biar file import does not import any repository object

    Hi,
I have extracted a Biar file from Business Objects Enterprise XI 2.0 Server and it has size 20 MB. When I import this file into another Server using Import Wizard which has Business Objects Enterprise XI 2.0, the outcome is unfavorable. Inspite of both the source and target system being on same enterprise version (11.5.8.1111) plus both on Service Pack 2 Fix Pack 2.7, the repository objects log within the Import Wizard shows 0 objects imported.
What is the remedy to this situation ?
    Regards,
    Neonevin

    Hello,
Not really that I know of.
Well this is a big problem since we can not export projects easaly between different computers. Or back to the same computer using this metod insted of the whole project fils and associated files.
Also there might be a problem exporting to different editing programs as Premiere.
And Apple do not seem to bother. We have to try to solve problems like this in forums and searching for answers and plugins for hours.
This i think will make us to leave final cut as editing software.
Also this version of final cut x - apart from final cut 7 does not seem to be able to export audio in a proper way.
Especially the audio that can be a little bit lika a worms nest seems to be impossible to export with all or most of the options left. It wants to put everything together in mixes audio tracks.

  • Best way to import all objects into work repository located on a new master respository

    Hi,
We have two separate master repositories, one for all development work repositories (Development, ST, UAT, IAT), and one for Production.
What would be the best approach to export and import all objects from the Dev Repository into the Prod Work Repository located on the Prod Master Repository.
Internal Ids of all work repositories are different.
We have tried putting everything into a solution and exporting that, but that did not work when we tried to import it.
We successfully exported and imported a single scenario, however this is not very practical as we have over 500 scenarios.
    All suggestions welcome,
    Thanks,
    Nic

    Thanks,
But we want to keep Dev Work Repositories separate to Prod Work Repositories on their respective Master Repositories.
So our end result will have:
    1) All Development Work Repositories located in the Development Master Repository on the Development server.
    2) The Production Work Repository located on the Production Master Repository on the Production Server.
    3) The ability to update a Solution or similar in Development with all changes to any objects.
    4) The ability to import the Solution into the Prod Work Repo on the Prod Master Repo and execute via a load plan.
    Is this possible?

  • BW Publisher + Lifecycle Manager + Import Wizard  Repository Objects

    Hi,
I would like to ask advice about moving reports from a for example a QA to Production enviornment.
    BW 3.5, BOXI 3.1 (SP1 currently / possibly SP2 )
I have reports which have been published using BW Publisher which have Parameters populated by BW.
I have other reports which have parameters which are populated by Business Views.
I have reports which are a combination of BW Queries and a Universe built upon a SQL server 2008 Database.
I have tried publishing the Report using the (NON SAP) Universe via BW Publisher and I get an error.
Also I realise that the BW publisher will not move the Business Views Repository Objects and NON SAP Universe to the Production Enviornment.
What is your suggestion regarding moving these reports?
I can only think that some reports will be moved using BW Publisher and others using the LIfeCycle Manager.
Am I correct in assuming that LCM will not move BW Published reports to the new Business Objects Installation correctly (because they will point to the BW Server which originally published them. Can the Schedule Manager perhaps not take care of this for me?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Nicole

Thank you all for your replies
I have other reports which have parameters which are populated by Business Views.
<h5> I had issues moving these with LCM and even the Import wizard which I eventually only resloved by Moving the Business Views and LOVs using Business View Manager Import and Export wizard - I still had to map LOV to the objects within the existing business views but got them working!
The reports (even the ones using business views) ran correctly (except for Parameters - see below) after transporting using the BW Publisher and Content Administration Workbench</h5>
I have reports which are a combination of BW Queries and a Universe built upon a SQL server 2008 Database.
<h5> Have not tested yet but managed to transport using SAP Transport </h5>
I have reports which have been published using BW Publisher which have Parameters populated by BW.
<h5>Ironically here is where I have an issue
I am having an issue with Report Parameters:
Dev Server: BW publisher / Infoview populates Parameters LOV at run time.
QA Server: only static parameters are shown.
Both servers should have identical software BOE 3.1  and SAP Integration Kit 3.1
Both Servers have BW Publisher configured and I am publishing from the Content Administrator Workbench.
The only difference I can think of in Terms of the servers is that Reports were published to DEV using SAP Menu in Crystal Reports and on QA I transported the Reports from DEV and THEN published them in QA.
Authorizations are also different u2013 in DEV I have Sap_All and in Dev I have a role.</h5>
I was also having issues getting "My Groups" to appear in Infoview but this is resloved and I believe was due to authorisations and roles - not having the correct one.
I am installing SP2 on a 3rd server to test if the issue would be resolved.
Tell me does BW require a different transport to communicate with a BOE server installed with SP2?
    Kind Regards,
    Nicole

  • Integration Repository Objects not visible after Succesfully Import

    Hello everybody,
I'm importing design objects via File System, the system gives a succesful message after import, but the objects are not imported, I've checked Cache and everything is green, anyone have any suggestions on why could this be happening, we have PI 7.0 SP 17, thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    Julio Cesar

Hello guys, thanks for your answers, actually is the correct .tpz file, and we are exporting a hole namespace, the software component version already exists in the target system, the objects are active in the source system, actually there is no change list with inactive objects in any of the systems the source or the target.

  • Import design object into integration repository

    HI.
We are going to import "XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_SP09_01.tpz" into integration reposiotry. So, we move this file into "G:\usr\sap\DEV\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import" and start integration reposiotry.
Then, I clicked tool -> import design object but system can't find any object.
How can I fix this ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    Hi,
Generally, the import of this component is done during installation itself, just check if the installation has been completed. Check out michal's FAQ blog to get simple steps to check if installation has been completed properly. You can probably copy the tpz version of the SAP BASIS component again from the installation DVD and try and import it.
Btw, what kind of a platform is XI running on - Unix platform? Whatever it is, are you able to see the tpz file at its location? Check if the folder that the tpz if existing in has all the permissions to pick up the file.

  • Client export for ABAP programs, repository objects cross client objects

    Hello,
Let me first explain the scenario here. Our Development system crashed we are rebuilding the development system from a client export of the production. Client does not want migration etc so the only way we want to do it is through client export.
Now the question is whether cross client objects can really be imported through client export KT, KO, KX requests?
I thought it was possible but after successfully importinng the client export (which was taken using profile SAP_EXPC) of the Production client all the customizing has been imported but non of the ABAP programs have been imported.
Can anyone explain how this is done and if it is possible?
    Steps I performed:
1] Exported Production client with profile SAP_EXPC
2] Imported the 3 requests KT, KO, KX using command line
    tp import <KT req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
    tp import <KX req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
    tp import <KO req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
3] After successful import ran scc7 which finished successfully
    Thank you

You can transport client independent customizing, read sap note [24853 - CC-INFO: Client copy, functionality|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/24853].
But you cannot transport abap repository objects (abap programs) with a client copy.
Can you explain what you mean by "Our Development system crashed". If you still can happily do client copies to that system, then i really wonder what you mean by crashed...
    Cheers Michael

  • Import Design Objects in Service Builder

I am able to export and import configuration objects in Configuration Integration Builder from the Tool menu.
I am able to export Design Objects in Enterprise Service Builder.
I am also able to import the Design Objects in Enterprise Service Builder, however, I am not able to find the imported objects.
Although system says the import is successful, but I am not seeing the imported objects in left side panel.
There is nothing in Change Lists either.
My question is where is the imported objects and how could I find them?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jimmy,
This is because of the version conflicts in yuour target system. If you try to edit something in Integration Repository in the target system and try to transfer you will get version conflicts.
Please check if this is the error.

  • Error in importing Configuration objects of PI 7.0 to PI 7.1

    Hi All,
My server is upgraded from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1.
I am getting Error while  importing Configuration objects of PI 7.0 to PI 7.1 now.
    Pls see the below error
Attempt to access the 1 requested objects on 1 failed. Detailed information:  com.sap.aii.ib.core.roa.RoaObjectAccessException: Attempt to read object Adapter Metadata Mail | http://sap.com/xi/XI/System, type AdapterMetaData from application REPOSITORY on system REPOSITORY failed. Object does not exist. Detailed informatio n: Software component version with key ID: b38bcd00e47111d7afacde420a1145a5 not found
    Pls suggest

    Hi,
It seems that adapter metadata has not been loaded into integration repository and because of that when you are trying to import configuration objects in ID then you are getting the error.
The SAP adapter metadata objects are located under the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System of software component SAP BASIS.
What you can do is, if you have installation dvd's then you can copy from their or you can simply [_DOWNLOAD_|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=SEARCH&HIDE=&SEARCH_SPAT=X&SEARCH_BPAT=X&SEARCH_CD=X&SEARCH_P=X&SEARCH_PV=X&SEARCH_C=X&SEARCH_CV=X&SEARCH_TA=&SEARCH_V=&HIDE_EXPERT_SEARCH=X&SEARCH_MAX_RESULT=20 ] from sap market place (refer this [thread|how to import Adapter metadata;) (you must have S-user id for this) and then after you need to do as mentioned below...
    1. First unzip the file (if it is zipped) and then put it in the import directory: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
    2. Now login to IR and then from menu TOOLS ---> Import design objects and import it.
    3. After that in ID, Environment ---> Clear SLD Data Cache
    4. Now you can try to import configuration objects...

  • Integration Repository objects

Is it possible to store Integration Repository objects (Data Types,Message Types,Message Interfaces,Message Mappings and Interface Mappings) separately in the repository like (VSS ,CVS etc,.).Some times it will be helpful to merge specific versions of the objects and activate. If i am not wrong i can only see exporting IR objects as a whole and store in the repository.

    Hi Anand,
I dont have a exct answer for it but i can give you a solution.....
the thing is you can export your datatype as XSD and save that XSD at your coninient path.....so once your are in need of datatype you just import that XSD so you can see your datatype there..............so once you have your datatype i dont think it will take much of time to build IR Objects other than Mapping....this too can be solve if you use Java or XSLT Mapping...just have a copy of your pgm in local so that you can make use of it wherever you want ....hope this simplifies your task...f you feel im wrong kindly inform me...

  • Problem in importing scenario objects from Development  to Production in XI

    Dear Gurus,
I have a certain probelm happening as follows:-
We have a 3 Sytem Landscape as follows :-
    Client 400-Development ,
    Client 500- Quality
    Client 700 - Production
When he scenario (.tpz) files of directory and integration server  are transported from 200 - 500 , (ie .tpz files are transferred from the export folder of directory and repository server to import folder of directory and repository server via FTP) the scenario is visible in the namespace in 500 .
The same when followed in 700 , after importing the objects from the import options under tools in repository as well as directory , the objects are not imported under the specified namespace in it's SWCV.
Please suggest what could be done !!!!
PS: We have deployed XI 3.5.

    Hi Ashish,
I hope you have done ftp from 500 to 700 instead of 400 to 700. If yes then I dont think you should run into any of these issues. Also when it is done are the objects available in import and export folders of client 700 which is your production. If yes then try to import them in production. Also make sure you dont have anything in your change list. If you have something under the change list then you may run into some issues. Also look at this blog for the folder loactions:
