Import SAP BW roles to SAP BO withour prefix

Hello,
we are re-using our SAP BW authorizations roles for folder authorizations in SAP BO.
Therefore we import roles from SAP BW source system and add these roles to different BO-Groups. Folder authorizations are maintained for these BO Groups.
Import of roles works - but all imported roles / Groups start with a prefix "<SYS-ID>~<CLNT>@"
So if we promote groups/authorizations to qa and prod system we have to add BW roles in each system.
E.g.
     DEV-System:
DEV~001@BW_ROLE --> added to BO Group "BW"
     Promotion to QA-System:
BO Group contains Role DEV~001@BW_ROLE and QA~002@BW_ROLE has to be added.
How to avoid this?
There is a similar issue with user which has been resolved by maintaing registry setting.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Enterprise\Auth Plugins\secSAPR3\SimpleUsernameFormat
Thanks and best regards,
Christian
P.S. we are using BI 4.1

Hello Ingo,
A small clarification w.r.to security maintenance in BO w.r.to SAP report execution...
If I have roles created/maintained in SAP to restrict the access in terms of what data is available for an end user, and if these roles have been imported into BO and have been assigned to different groups as per the user grouping roles in SAP.
And later, if additional access in terms of data has been assigned to the SAP role....does the group on BO has to be changed as the data access provided is only on SAP side.
As my understanding is the groups on the BO side are only to dictate what level of access does the user have for BO tools in terms of changing/creating/deleting BO reports and not what kind of data is accessed in SAP.
Can you please confirm the same.
Thanks
Dharma.

Install the 32bit version of the Java connector. BOBJ is 32bit so even on 64bit Windows you need the 32bit version of the Java Connector.

  • Import SAP IDOC in B1

Is it possible to import SAP IDOCS (e.g. ORDERS05) in B1?  Is extra software needed?

    Hi Johan,
Electronic File Format: the Tools is provided, and used to do most of the file transformations and imports.
It is used for all bank statements (import and export), is used to generate specific reports (Intrastat) and by SAP for specific legal requirements (i.e.the one asked by the French Legals to provide an electronic export on a specific format during controls).
Not the easiest thing to master, but a standard tool for file transformation from Inside the client (B1if will run on the server only, as you know).
sthat you are not restricted regarding the source format (you can even use a .rpt file as a source ).
If you search Inside the SCN, you'll find posts explaining how to use it.

    Eric

  • Error when importing SAP Provisioning Framework

    Hi,
Has anyone here successfully imported the SAP Provisioning Framework that is provided together with SP1?
I noticed that the there are 2 different files of this SAP Provisioning Framework: one is provided automatically when installing the IDM 7.0 SP1, and the other is provided as an attachment to sap note 1106354.
But I could not import either of them. For the previous one, I got error: <i>Could not update identity center with job '1582/DummyLinkScriptJob'.</i>
And for the latter one, the error is: <i>Could not update identity center with job '1619/UnAssignUserFromSunOneGroup'.</i>
Can anyboby give me some hint, where the problem could be?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Frank,
thanks a lot for your help. Actually I did exactly the same what you mentioned in your reply. And the steps I followed could be summerised as :
    1.     Install Windows 2003
    2.     Update Windows 2003 to SP2 , as required by SQL Server 2005
    3.     Install IIS component , as required by SQL server 2005
    4.     Install SQL Server 2005
             .Mixed-mode security
             .Not case-sensitive (default)
    5.     Install Management Console
    6.     Copy License file
    7.     Configure JVM in IC
             .Use sapjvm_5
    8.     Install JDBC driver
             .Configure JDBC driver in IC
    9.     Create IC Database:
             .mxmc-test  localhost  sa
             .mxmc-install
    10.     Create a new IC configuration
    11.     Create a new Dispatcher
                         .set as default dispatcher
    12.     Create a new Identity Store
    13.     SAP note 1106354
              .Copy files
              .Update stored procedures

we have also checked the current cbs request, in fact it the activation process which always failed and the total DC for this component is still to 0.
What can we do to import the SAP-WEC sca sources ?
    thank you.

    Hi Jean-Yves,
    Hope you are doing good.
You are right, the error is not too clear:

  • Connection problem when importing SAP NW BW models into HANA developer ed

I have successfully installed "AS ABAP 7.4 SP5 incl. BW on SAP HANA SP7 [Developer Edition]" and connected with the SAP GUI and added the system into HANA Studio and Eclipse.
Being connected as SYSTEM in the modeleler (Eclipse & HS) I choose: File->Import->SAP HANA Content->SAP NetWeaver BW Model
After selecting 'Next' I enter the following:
    Server name: A4H
    Host name: abapci
    Instance number: 00
    Client number: 001
    SAProuter string: <nil>
    User name: <BW user-id>
    Password: <BW pwd>
When testing the connection or pressing 'Next' in order to connect the following happens:
    HS: nothing
In Eclipse I get the followin message:

It seems to me as if the message is indicating that the 'hostname' is not abapci' which surprises me since on page 13 in the guide (
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/601fec98-f975-3110-a397-a322039ecc1a?QuickLink=index&… ) it explicitly is stated that the hostname is "abapci" (which also can be seen in the SAP GUI).
Anybody got any ideas what is going on???

Instead of 'abaci' you enter the IP-address.

  • Mass Role Import  -- 9000 derived roles with 9 org Levels, how to get TXT

    Hello,
    I hava a problem.
I want to use the (Mass Role Import) Bulk Role Import element in the ERM  (SAP GRC AC 5.3 )for importing SAP roles (I only found that way to import roles from SAP).
I have 100 primary roles and more or less 9000 derived roles with 9 org Levels.
Is there a way to get this 9000 derived roles with their 9 org Levels in a TXT file?. Or do I have to do it manually this part to insert it in the "Bulk Role Import ".
    Can someone help me?
    Thank you in advance.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hi Mike,
what kind of TA´s are in your role. Is it possible to integrate a "dummy" TA (without conflicting
    your SOD)?
In my example I have CO TA´s bundled in a role:
Role:   ZXXXX_O:CO_ORDERMANAGER_CRE - CO Order Manager Pflege
    with
    KO01 Create Internal Order ...
    KO02 Change Order ...
    KO04 Order Manager ...
KOK2 Collective Proc. Internal Orders ...
KOK4 Aut. Collect. Proc. Internal Orders
update this role with TA KO01 and KOKRS will be available for derivation.
Done this manually without import in ERM.

    Ulrich

  • GRC 10 Role Import error(Master role does not exist) in SP12

    Hi,
We have completed connectors part and ran sync jobs successfully.
We have given required inputs in Define Criteria,Select Role Data in Role Import. When we submit this, only few roles are successfully imported.
It is giving error like Master role does not exist(some roles) but it is successful for few other roles.
We have tried with SKIP option in role authorization source as per a note but it is not successful for all the role import and getting above mentioned error.
    Please check and advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Koteswara Rao.

    Hi Koteswara
Have you confirmed in SAP that your ZM* roles are definitely imparting roles only? When you tried to upload them on second attempt, did you relaunch the the role import screen to ensure any buffering completely cleared?
Another thing to try - import the master role and then exit NWBC and run the repository synch job. Go back to NWBC and attempt to import the derived roles to see if error is gone?
If these don't work for you it may be time to contact SAP. I assume it was the following note you referred to: 1576321 - Import derived role without master role
Also, this topic was raised in SCN last year (unfortunately the thread was not updated with the solution). Possibly reach to the thread owner and see if they will login to SCN and update it Role import failed with Master role  does not exist in SP13

  • ERM mass role import - not importing all the roles

    Dear All,
We are configuring GRC AC 5.3 SP11and are currently trying to import roles into the ERM. The system reads the three files (roles, information, and organization" and the job is run in a "successfull" way. However, not all the jobs are being uploaded. For example, out of a total of 300 roles, only 24 roles were uploaded. Afterwards, I tried again to import the roles using the exact same files I initially used, but this time, 35 roles were imported. Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve it? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello Arias,  There could be a couple of reasons:
    1. If you have derived roles, possibly the child role was attempted to be imported before the parent role. During the first import, the child role failed but the parent role imported. Then, on the second run the parent role was already there and the child role could be imported successfully. The way I get around this is to first create a parent role extract/import, then do a child extract/import.
    2. Potentially the same problem as above but for composite and single role imports. You could load the single roles first, then the composite.
    Best Regards, Dylan

  • Erro when importing SAP roles into BO Edge XI 3.1

    Hello,
I'm currently setting up the SAP Best Practices on a BO Edge XI 3.1 system (32 bit) and trying to link up with an SAP ECC 6 EHP 4 system (64-bit).
When getting to the authorisation step I go to the CMC > Authentication > SAP > Role IMport.
    There I receive following error:
JCO.classInitialize(): Could not load middleware layer 'com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC' JCO.nativeInit(): Could not initialize dynamic link library sapjcorfc. Found version "2.1.9 (2010-01-28)" but required version "2.1.8 (2006-12-11)".
After closing and re-entering the same tab I receive following message: org.apache.jasper.JasperException
I have not even the possibility to enter the roles manually. The system doesn't allow me.
There is no specific SNC security set up for my SAP system.
I have been able to connect to the logical system of SAP because when I updated on the tab: "Entitlement Systems" it proposed my logical system name that I created in SAP.
As I found on another SAP forum the version 2.1.9 should also be the good version.
Can someone help me out with this one (does anyone has still the older SAP Java connector version 2.1.8)?
    thanks in advance
    Thierry

    Hello,
    That's what i did but didn't help.
I finally managed to find the problem. I had also to install a file named librfc32.dll in the same directory. When installing the necessary files apparently the version of this file librfc32.dll was not the correct one because it didn't match with the version that is installed together with the Sap gui (I presume). So by re-installing the former version of this file librfc32.dll it finally worked.
    thanks anyway
