"Import Session Data"?

Hola,
Just curious to know if there's an option in Logic similar to Pro Tools' "Import Session Data" where you can import entire tracks (audio, plug ins, etc) from one session into another. For example, I have created two sessions, one for the music, and another for the vocals, just to save on some screen real estate and CPU power. Now they are both where I'd like them and I want to import them for fine touches and to make sure they work together.
Thanks!
Brian

Wouldn't that just import the file? My vocal session has snippets of files all over the tracks with automation, plug ins, and different routing. I want to import the entire track with all of its information (autoamtion, plug ins, plug in settings, regions, files, etc). I want to essentially combine the tracks. Thank you for the freeze info. I often use freeze, but I kinda lied in my first post... I didn't actually track the sessions. A friend of mine did in Garageband and I'm mixing them in Logic.
Does this make more sense? I don't want to just import the audio. I want to import the entire track and all its associated info. Is this a Pro feature, or a Logic feature at all?
Thanks,
Brian

  • Waveburner;  a few Questions regarding track files and Session Data

    After a bit of negotiating, I'm almost ready to burn. Was having problems with file locations and discovered that i had multiple files in different locations. Those have been eliminated and all relative track files are in one place now with the Song Data File as well.
    I then re-imported the individual aif tracks only to find that all of my fades and edits are GONE. It appears that I may have to DO THEM ALL OVER AGAIN! Please tell me that there is a work around.
    Is it possible to import only the Session Data related to the fades and edits(everything but the actual audio files), so as to avoid all this "do-again" work?
    I was also wonder if it is necessary, or perhaps a good idea, to change the File INFO for each of the individual audio track files from "OpenWith" iTunes (default setting) to "Open With": WAVEBURNER ?. (selectable on the aiff files, "Show More Info" window
    Currently the aif files are set to "OpenWith" iTunes (default)
    One last question please.
    Is Waveburner really up to snuff? How many people are using this for Mastering and Burning CD's? I'm about to start inserting some AU Mastering Plug Ins and I'm hoping for the best. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    You're grammer isn't bad jord, it was I who asked a plethora of questions under one Subject heading.
    When i open the project file(.wb3),
    The prompt says;
    "Please choose a replacement from the list below:"
    /Volumes/320GB HD/Users/ahuihou/.Trash/1 Track 01.aiff
    /Volumes/320GB HD/Users/ahuihou/.Trash/2 Track 02.aiff
    /Volumes/320GB HD/Users/ahuihou/.Trash/3 Track 03.aiff
    /Volumes/320GB HD/Users/ahuihou/.Trash/4 Track 04.aiff
    /Volumes/320GB HD/Users/ahuihou/.Trash/6 Track 06.aiff
    As you can see the files are in the trash.
    The first problem is that there are no actual files in the trash. Just an icon of a CD Disc which was dragged there to eject it, It is no longer in the disc drive/tray. Perhaps i should put the disc back in the drive and then update/replace the files afterwords. (The CD is scratched.)
    The strange thing is that i can still preview the track that's in the trash by selecting More Info and playing it on the little Quicktime player bar. I guess the file is in a cache somewhere?
    I've looked everywhere on all drives for the specific files but can not find them anywhere.
    In the Replacement prompt there is a place that I can check to "Search in the same folder for subsequent files" button on the "Replacement" prompt.
    which "same folder" is it refering to?
    The Trash folder where the old files are or the Folder where the actual .wb3 project file is? I do have all of the correctly named song files/regions in the same folder with the project file.
    maybe i should just start again. i'm not one to give up easy though and would much prefer to "beat" the computer at the game.

  • Wait for Session Data status does not change in EWA

    The hour glass next to the early watch alert in the solution manager system has the status "wait for session data". The SDCCN in the satellite system has the RFC configured correctly and the RFC is working fine when tested. I have installed the latest ST-PI and ST-A/PI for my basis release 640 on the satellite system. The basis release of the solution manager is 701. The self diagnosis button in solution manager does not list any errors or warnings for that satellite system.
    There are no errors in the task Refresh Session task in the satellite system's SDCCN:
    Refresh of session overview started from destination SM_R3SCLNT001_BACK
    > Sessions are up to date
    Refresh of session overview completed from destination SM_R3SCLNT001_BACK
    Any ideas why I can't generate the EWA in the solution manager system?

    Hello, I've got the same problem, went through the note, but it didn't solve my problem.
    Here I can say, that several points from the note are NOT clear (typically SAP...):
    I am falling in the category with ST-PI ... or newer.
    - SDCCN:
    Delete any task 'Maintenance Package' in the 'To do' tab.
    Ensure that no connection to SAP is maintained in:
    SDCCN-> Goto -> Settings -> Task specific -> RFC destinations.
    <so I deleted all the RFCs in that location>
    Ensure that connection 'NONE' is maintained, and that the 'master' flag is set.
    <surprisingly, now there is a connection that has to be maintained!! Also the 'master' flag is always grayed out for me and never clickable!!>
    Create a new periodic task 'Maintenance Package'.
    <Not working, until I added back my SM_<SID>CLNT<No>_BACK connection>
    - Step 2:
    Re-import the service definitions, c)
    They are saying how to setup the destinations, but NOT how to import the service definitions!
    So, not really sure how to interpret and apply the note... Please help! The satellite system is NetWeaver 7.3 EHP1, Solution Manager 7.1 SPS10.
    It goes on... I found this link:
    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDMQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwiki.scn.sa…
    With it, I could transfer the data to the solution manager, but I can only see 'Data is available', when I click it and tell it to start the job, SM:EXEC SERVICES 000000000400100 runs for 6-7 seconds and completes successfully, though the EWA report still says 'Data is available', but no report is being generated. I also re-executed the job SM:EXEC SERVICES and still nothing.

  • Save Session Data

    Hi to all,
    is there a way to save Session Data in  a Bsp application (similar to Php $_SESSION array)?
    or i have to use shared object/export-import memory id  to save temp data in a session (example: Shopping Cart)?
    thanks
    Alessandro

    Hello,
    you can use a statefull bsp with an application class...
    The objects in the class have a lifetime over the whole session.

  • Retrieving session data in JSP  which is forwarded from a servlet

    I'm trying to retrieve session data which is set in a servlet and pass to a jsp. But its returning NULL . The session IDs are equal.
    Scenario:
    JSP display the checkbox, user selects it and submits to a servlet. the servlet display the selected items and stores the data in session.
    when the user press back button in servlet all i want to do is display those checked box which were selected before as checked in the JSP so that user can edit.
    Following is a small test code
    JSP
    <html>
         <head>
              <title>Item List</title>
         </head>
         <body bgcolor="#fedeab"><br><br><br>
         <p align=center>
              <font size=4>
              Choose the item you want!!!
         </p>
         <form action="/demo/showitem" method="post">
              <%=session.getId()%>
              <div align=center>
              <fieldset style="width:250px">
              <legend style="text-align:center">List of item</legend> <br>

                   <input type="checkbox" name="book1" value="book1" checked > Book 1 <br>
              <% } else {%>
                   <input type="checkbox" name="book1" value="book1" > Book 1 <br>
              <% }%>
              <input type="submit" value="Enter">
              </fieldset>
              </div>
         </form>
         </body>
    </html>
    Servlet
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class ShowItem extends HttpServlet
         public void doPost (HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)throws ServletException, IOException
              HttpSession session = req.getSession(true);
              res.setContentType("text/html");
              PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
              out.println(session.getId());
              out.println("<br>");
              out.println("<form>");
              String book1 = req.getParameter("book1");
              session.setAttribute("book1",book1);
              if (book1 != null)
                   out.println ("1." + book1 +"<br>");
                   out.println("<br><br><input type=\"submit\" name=\"buy\" value=\"Buy\">");
              else
                   out.println("No item to display<br>");
              out.println("&nbsp&nbsp<input type=\"submit\" name=\"back\" value=\"Back\">");
              out.println("</form>");
              RequestDispatcher page = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/jsp/litemlist.jsp");
              if ((req.getParameter("buy"))!= null)
                        page.forward(req, res);
              if ((req.getParameter("back"))!= null)
                        page.forward(req, res);
         public void doGet (HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)throws ServletException, IOException
              doPost(req,res);
    }

    req.getParameter("book1") is not NULL and returning the value of the checkbox "book1". The problem occurs when the back button is press and try to retrieve the session value in the JSP. At that time, session.getAttribute("book1") returns NULL.
    But if i convert the servlet to JSP then everything is working fine.
    So i wanted to know if there is anything wrong in the way i store the session value in the servlet and forwarding to the JSP.
    Thanks

  • Servlet Session data being shared

    I have a bunch of servlets tha basically generate reports. The problem I'm having is that when two users run the same servlet at about the same time, one of the reports will be over written by the data of the other report. It almost seems that the users are sharing the same context.
    Is there any way to fix this or do you have ny suggestions, tips as to how to prevent this.
    Thnaks in advance for any help you may provide.

    I ran into a similar problem not to long ago with sessions. I had an instance or global reference to the session object in my servlet. When two or more people used the servlet at just the right time I would get problems where data was getting used across sessions. For example:
    public class FooServlet extends HttpServlet
         HttpSession session;
         doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
              session = req.getSession(false);
              doStuffWithSessionData();
         doStuffWithSessionData()
              String temp = session.getValue("temp");
              //do some stuff
    }So, person A would connect to the servlet, and their session would be retreived, and the instance reference would get set to their session. Person B would connect at about the same time, their session would get retreived and the instance reference would get set to theirs... right before the getValue("temp") on person A's session is called. So, whatever I was doing for person A would end up using the data out of person B's session. I like to call this a race condition.
    It is important to keep in mind that servlets are accessed by multiple threads concurrently, so you need to make sure your servlets are thread safe. Instance variables that get modified with each request are a very bad, non-thread safe thing and will cause odd behaviour like what you are describing. I speak from experience.
    I fixed the above by removing the instance reference and doing the following:
    public class FooServlet extends HttpServlet
         doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
                   doStuffWithSessionData(req);
         doStuffWithSessionData(HttpServletRequest req)
              HttpSession session = req.getSession(false);
              String temp = session.getValue("temp");
              //do some stuff
              //NOTE: this works most of the time. However, if the client
              //connects with more than one browser window using the same
              //session, I could run into some trouble here too.
    }That was a quick fix. However, what I really need to do is create a separate class to encapsulate all user session data and access the session and all data through public static synchronized methods on that class, passing it the request object when I do it. That way all data is stored in one object, and that object is used to do all session access in a thread-safe, synchronized manner.
    I hope this information helps you and is understandable. If you have any questions I will try to clarify. Making things thread-safe can be a daunting task.

  • Not enough space on my new SSD drive to import my data from time machine backup, how can I import my latest backup minus some big files?

    I just got a new 256GB SSD drive for my mac, I want to import my data from time machine backup, but its larger than 256GB since it used to be on my old optical drive. How can I import my latest backup keeping out some big files on the external drive?

    Hello Salemr,
    When you restore from a Time Machine back up, you can tell it to not transfer folders like Desktop, Documents. Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public. Take a look at the article below for the steps to restore from your back up.

  • Comments not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server. SDDM 3.3.0.747

    Hi,
    SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit.
    Comments are not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server 2008. Connection through Microsoft JDBC Driver 4.0 for SQL Server or jTDS 1.2.7
    What I have tried? In SDDM DDL generation, Comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with "EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description' , 'Test Comment' ..." so I added extended property named "MS_Description" into SQL Server database, both on table and column. None of them were imported from Data Dictionary into SSDM. I have tried both drivers stated above. Is it a bug or am I missing something?
    I've found similar question thread Re: Data dictionary import doesn't import column comments for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it is a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

    Extended properties were not imported correctly from SQLServer databases at DM 3.3.0.747.
    Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have been modified.
    I don't think it is a problem with JDBC drivers.
    A bug fix should be available in the next release of DM.

  • SQL modeler can not import from data dictionary

    It was very frustruted to see that the SQL Modeler hang in import from data dictionary of a database as part of revise engineering. I have to question myself if sql modeler is a serious tool and should I give up.

    I am not sure if Data Modeller is still in Beta./Production. First couple off initial versions of a new product are normally buggy.

    Alternatively, If this product is still in Beta, then you can contact the development team or report the issue so that they can take care of this issue in next beta release.

  • How do I access session data through an EJB?

    Hi
    How do I access session data through an EJB?
    I am currantly developing a Web service (using ejb's, JBoss.net and Apache Axis). A client making a call to this Web service, is expecting a bussiness-object in return. My problem is that this bussiness-object i stored in a users session data. How do I retrieve this bussiness-object from the users session.
    I have read that this does not work with httpsessions, is this true? If this is true, is it possible to store the bussiness object in a JavaBean e.g:
    <jsp:useBean id="userContextWebImpl" scope="session" class="com.ac.march.client.UserContextWebImpl">
    <%
    String key = "test";
    String value = "This is the value";
    userContextWebImpl.setValue( key, value1 );
    %>
    </jsp:useBean>
    and then retrieve this information through the EJB? Or is it possible to do this by using Statfull JavaBeans? Or can this be done through a nother solution?
    Please help!

    I have created a JavaBean with scope="application" to store some data. The data is stored when a user prefomes a spesific task.
    A different person then makes a call to a Web-Service on the server. The Web-Service then asks an EJB to retrieve the data stored in the JavaBean (servlet cotext). In other words: How do I retrieve this data from the EJB?
    I have tried with this code, but with no luck.

  • Import XML data to textfields in a PDF file

    Can I use LiveCycle Designer 8.2 to auto populate textfields in a PDF-file with data from a XML-file when the user opens the PDF-file? If so, how will I do it? Is there any guide?
    It works fine in the Livecycle Designer preview but when I open the PDF-file all textfields are empty. It also works fine if I import data from a OLEDB-connection.

    I'm looking for a solution for the same thing. I have a pdf form with fields bound to an xml file, but Acrobat will only import the data manually (Forms / Manage Form Data / Import Data) and Reader doesn't work at all.
    Tech Support says that when in Livecycle, you're working in an xml environment, so the 'Preview PDF' works. Acrobat and Reader aren't xml environments, so they won't display the data.
    What we need is a javascript programmer who can figure this out. Possibly using the remerge function. Anyone???
    Don.

  • How can we reset the session data in SAP ISA B2B application.

    com.sap.isa.isacore.action.IsaCoreInitAction$StartupParameter this action class providing the special feature to store all data passed to it in the request as parameters into the session context and make them available for all other actions.
    1. But in the inner class they had defined private parametrized constructor.
    2. Action class is defined as final.(there is no chance to override the method)
    3. There is no setter method (only getter() is available).
    4. Creating a new Z_ class that is reflecting in entire application.
    5.They had hard coded the Session attribute name in Action class.
    6. Application is expecting a session object with the same attributes.
    Is there any chance to create a new object for this class or any where any chance to reset the session data. Am using the Multiple_SoldTO concept in my application. My back end ECC .Please help me.
    Advanced Thanks

    I am not sure about your requirement, but yet.. Did you check UserSessionData object? It encompasses all the session variables.

  • How to import the data in a .xls or .xlsx file into a oracle database table

    Hi,
    Please tell me how to import the data in a .xls or .xlsx file into a oracle database table in Oracle 10gR2 using Oracle Warehouse Builder 10gR2.

    ....can we do something through Non-Oracle->ODBC?Yes, it is possible, look at this thread
    [SQLServer access from AIX Warehouse builder|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2502982]
    If your server (with target DB and OWB runtime) is on Windows OS this configuration will be simpler - you can use single server.
    And additional link on OWB blog (with 11g transparent gateway)
    [http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/2008/01/11g_heterogeneous_agent.html]
    (configuring nonoracle connection with 10g generic connectivity very similar to 11g gateway)
