Import Settings - photos are always imported at reduced size

somehow I've changed my settings to import my photos to a reduced 1280 x 853 size.
I cannot figure out how to change this back to the standard import at full size.
help

Here is the exact same image imported into the Lightroom on my desk top....
and now on my laptop...same image....
My desktop computer used to behave exactly as my laptop....on the FIT veiw setting the entire image would fill the screen and i could edit my image. Someway, somehow...I have changed my settings and the images appears minimized as the top image on my desk top and for the life of me, I can't figure what i did or how to change. Stumped.

  • Same photos are always included in group of new photos to import from my iPhone to Photos.

Every time I plug my iPhone into my MacBook a group of photos are always included in the group of new photos in the group of new photos Photos selects to import.
How can I convince Photos it has already imported these photos many times before?

What photos are you expecting to stream that are not streaming?
Only the photos in Photo Stream stream to other devices over iCloud. Preexisting photos and albums that are synced to the iPhone do not stream over iCloud to other devices.

  • Photos are being imported to the photo library... nothing being importe

I am trying to to upload my photos from iPhone4 (6.1.3) to iMac with Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6, but it's always the message "photos are being imported to the photo library" pop out without any photo being uploaded. (That forced me to force-quit iPhoto even when the phone is detached from iMac.)

Try the Image Capture application that comes with every Mac. It gives you a little more control over the import process.

Open Activity monitor in Utilities, go to the CPU tab>All Processes, and note any process that would appear to be related to importing photos, such as iPhoto, and use Force Quit. This may only be a temporary fix, as it may start all over again when you reboot. If that happens, we need to do some more investigating.
Also, close all open Applications, then open Terminal in Utilities and copy/paste and hit return, then post the output of this command.

  • There is a constant pop up message of "Photos are being imported to the photo library."

I cannot close my iPhoto or import any new photos. There is a constant pop up message of "Photos are being imported to the photo library." However, I am NOT importing anything to the library. This is very frustrating.
I cannot force quit. I even tried shutting down the computer manually. When my BRAND NEW IMAC starts back up, the same problem persists.
I also tried re-importing photos from my camera and flip camera. My iPhoto will not allow an import because these non existent photos are being imported. HELP PLEASE!

Force Quit iPhoto. It's under the Apple Menu.

  • I can't shut down iphoto, it continues to say "photos are being imported to the library"

I tried to download about 70 photos from my camera and it kept saying 1 photo remaining for over 30 minutes so I removed my camera and just figured there was something wrong with the download.  Now, when I try to shut down iphoto it continues to say "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  This has been going on now for 2 hours.

Type Command+Option+Esc and in the Force Quite Applications window select iPhoto and force quit it.

  • Why does my iphoto continue to say " photos are being imported to the photo library" every time I try to close? I have not been imported and this has been keeping me from closing for weeks.

What Operating System are you running?
Mountain Lion there seem to be a glitch that continually ask this on quit.
You have  Apple Menu ()>force quit>iPhoto

  • I cannot close or import or any function to iphoto.  I have been getting the same message for many days "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  I do not know where the photos would be importing from.

I cannot close or import or any function to iphoto.  I have been getting the same message for many days "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  I do not know where the photos would be importing from.  How do I get it to proceed?

After Force Quitting, as LarryHN recommended,
Select the iPhoto Library in the Finder. By default it is in your Pictures folder.
Ctrl-click or right-click the iPhoto lIbrary. Select "Show package contents" from the panel, that will pop up.
Look for a folder named "Importing" or "Import". Remove this folder, but don't touch anything else.
    Then launch iPhoto again.
If iPhoto now is working again, check the folder you removed, if there are any photos that you want to keep and save them.

  • I can't shut down or restart, it keeps saying Photos are being imported to the photo library"

    Hello
I have a Imac. I can't shut down or restart. It keeps giving me a pop up "Photos are being imported to the photo library". I can't even quit iPhoto.

If you open iPhoto again and it won't shut down normally force quit again and do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • Actual Size (Full Quality) photos being e-mailed at reduced sizes! Why?

Yesterday I e-mailed six photos to a party in Nova Scotia. Because of the large file size of the photos--ranging from 6.7 MB to 9.2 MB--I opted to e-mail each photo individually. In iPhoto I chose the Actual Size (Full Quality) size setting for each photo.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that every photo was e-mailed at a reduced size. For example, the indicated attachment size for the 6.7 MB photo was only 4.6 MB, and for the 9.2 MB photo only 6.1 MB. This is the first time I have noticed photos being e-mailed at reduced sizes even when the Actual Size (Full Quality) size setting has been chosen.
I would appreciate knowing what is going on here and what I need to do to remedy this situation.
    Bob

    Terence,
The problem remains unresolved. I followed your recommended procedure and got the same bizarre result!
I selected in iPhoto the same 9.2 MB photo I e-mailed to Nova Scotia yesterday, clicked on the Email icon, and selected Actual Size (Full Quality). The Mail 1 Photo window correctly showed the estimated size as 9.2 MB. I clicked on the Compose Message button which took me to the E-mail message window. I verified that the Image Size indicated at the lower right hand corner of the window was Actual Size. Interestingly enough, the Message Size indicated in the lower left hand corner of the window was 8.2 MB. Somehow my photo size was reduced 1 MB in the process of it being prepared for E-mail delivery! I then e-mailed the photo to myself. When I opened it up it showed 1 Attachment, 6.1 MB. This is the exact same result I got when I originally e-mailed this photo to Nova Scotia.
My primary concern here is that the quality of these photos is likely being compromised by this size reduction phenomenon which I have not previously noticed. I'm wondering whether this is a problem with iPhoto '09, Version 8.1 (415) to which I just recently upgraded from iPhoto '06. For your information I have also long employed iPhoto Library Manager (Currently version 3.5.5).
Perhaps you can try this same procedure and see if you get the same goofy result. I'll be eagerly awaiting your reply and advice on how to resolve this issue.
