Import songs onto CD

I updated my itunes last night, and tried to burn a playlist to a cd today. The burn to CD button isn't there, nor is there any option in the file menu even though itunes recognizes there is a cd in the drive and prompts me to click on the burn button. Right clicking on the playlist also does not give me any results. Help!

When you rightclick a song and hit "Convert to MP3" it made copys in MP3 but kept the original AAC files on the PC and in iTUnes.
All you have to do is go thru and find all the AAC files and delete them by highlighting them and hitting the "DEL" key on the keyboard so it removes them from itunes AND puts them in the recycle bin

Did you purchase them on your iPad with the same Apple ID that you are using for iTunes on your iPhone and that iTunes on your Mac is sign into?

  • Troubles Importing Songs Onto Zen Mi

When I go into my MediaOrganizer, it recognizes that my Zen Micro 5GB is connected. OK so now I click that and it is in folders now, and it never was before. Before being that I had to uninstall all my Creative stuff and all the drivers and re-install as the computer didn't recognize my Zen. So that is fixed but now it's in folders so OK whatever. The folders are Music, My Playlists, and My Recordings. Then I click into my 'Music' folder in my Zen. Ok, it is empty as it should be. I click to import files, and click a few songs. Import them and instead of it going to my?Zen it goes into the PC Music Library. At first I thought it had to be in there to be imported to my Zen. So if I try to re-import the same song the same way I just described, it says the file is already there. It's really frustrating me. Any ideas?Shaker876

    No ideas from anybody?!?

  • Trying to import songs onto CD but says not in MP3 format

So, I was trying to burn some CDs yesterday off of my iTunes and the blank CD was detected by iTunes - but once I created the playlist and clicked on Burn, it said that all the songs had problems with them because they weren't in MP3 format.
I went into the Preferences and realized that the setting that I had had it on when importing new songs into iTunes was not for MP3 so I quickly changed it. I reimported one of my CDs that I had bought a while back and replaced the files with the MP3 files and then tried to burn the CD and it worked.
I really don't want to have to do that with all my CDs that I had already put into iTunes by importing the songs. I noticed that there was a "Convert selection into MP3 format" option when you right click in the playlist but once I did that and tried to burn it- the blank CD wouldn't recognize it as MP3 format.
Please someone tell me that I don't have to reimport all my CDs again!!!!!

  • How to import songs onto iPod from two computers?

this probably was posted before, but is there anyway to upload songs from two different computers?
i have songs on my mom's computer that i dont have on my dads.

Try turning off auto-update. Right click your iPod, and go to iPod Options. Under music, click 'manually manage songs and playlist.' It should work after that. You will probabl have to do it on both computers.

Hello, I'm new to Apple support. Anyways, I have the new iPad with GarageBand. I have music on dropbox but not iTunes and the music library on the iPad. Is there a way to upload music from dropbox directly to GarageBand? Thanks!

    Why is nobody responding?!?

When you set up a Smart Playlist, it automatically populates the list with songs. You don't have to do anything. Now, you may not have set it up properly, meaning your set up fails to recognize any songs.
If you just want to put music in a Playlist, just create one, give it a name. Then drag the music from the "music" list to the playlist. It copies the information there. And when you sync the Playlist to your iPhone, all the music goes.
It's truly easy, but there is a bit of a learning curve until you're good at it. Keep asking questions here, everyone will help you. But do read the Apple documents, they lay out pretty straightforward.

  • On my mac I have my downloads from i tunes. I have previously transferred thousands of songs onto an external hard drive. How do I show these songs and albums in my i tunes on my mac without adding them to the computer as there is insufficient space ?

PLEASE HELP ME. I transferred my music library onto an external hard drive as it contains about 30 000 songs. I got a second hard drive as extra security and loaded the songs onto that as well. Both hard drives now contain my music library however when I click onto my i tunes on my mac I am only seeing the music that I have downloaded from the i tunes store that has been kept in the cloud. How do I get my music from the hard drive to be recognized on my mac? Please, please, please help!!!

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

  • Can't import songs from music library to itunes!

I have no problems importing songs from audio cds into itunes, but it won't recognize any of the files that i have in other folders of my computers (in mp3 format). and when i select 'import' and these songs, it just doesn't do anything. any suggestions to help??? thanks!
    dell inspiron 4100   Windows XP

Most of them are files burned from an audio CD onto another computer, and then saved onto a USB device and then transferred onto my computer (I no longer have the original CDs, hence the roundabout procedure). some of the files however, are simply from 'my music' folder that i had previously burned onto my computer before installing itunes. i've checked the status of all the files--and none are protected. any suggestions? thanks!
Reknath, where did these files come from? If there
were downloads from other websites, they are probably
protected & that's why you can't get them into iTunes.

  • Importing songs from a protected CD

Is there any way to import songs from copyright protected physical CDs into my itunes library? The songs will upload to Windows Media Player, but will not convert to AAC in itunes. Sometimes, when I insert a copyright protected CD into my drive, nothing happens at all.
I have heard of a way to do it that involves ripping the songs to WMP, burning them onto a new CD, and then uploading them to itunes, but I have not tried it yet, and this seems like a lot of extra work. Is there an easier way to do it?
Thanks so much for the advice.

You can take an output directly from your hi-fi's tape out socket to your computer. You can then save and edit this output using audio editing software like the open source program Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
In addition to the software you'll need an RCA to 3.5 mm audio plug cable to connect the Tape Out sockets of your amplifier to the audio input of your computer.
You can use this method on LP, Cassette and also on Copy Protected CDs that won't play on your computer.

So how do I create a separate I tunes on a PC which already has itunes... Or if not can I plug my iPad to the PC and use itunes on my iPad, and drag mp3s from a computer.
I'm not sure what the equivalent of a desktop is on the iPad.. And I don't actually know how to use the icloud either...
Can anyone start me off, given it have a iPad and use of a PC - not mine with existing iplayer
I do have spotify soundcloud so I could potentially use these.. If there is a route of getting either mp3's etc to end up on my iPad or iPod.
    Kind Regards

*not all my songs are from itunes store or off cds =S*
    *I hope you can help...*
    *thankyou =)*

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another. If the songs aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back from your old iPod and update the new one from there.
The transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • I can't import songs

    Hi,
Wow - So many disgruntled iTunes users. I am feeling the same way today.
Admit I've used an iphone for nearly a year now (4S and now the 5).
It took me a while to figure out the latest iTunes when I scored the i5, but so far I've managed to get a lot of songs onto it.
feels a little more cumbersome perhaps.
    anyway, trouble here...
I was *TRYING to add a new song to my phone yesterday.
It's an updated/newer recording of a song my band recorded.
I got the new song I wanted ready to import (it's an mp3), then directly from my phone, I swiped and deleted the old one.
These songs had the same name, but no matter what I do I can't right click the track from my itunes library and send it to my playlist (the actual phone).
I see the track, but there's an exclamation mark. I did some googling and it seems maybe I moved some folders of songs around, so iTunes doesn't remember where to find it.
Previous version of iTunes was so simple. Just drag a song from a Windows window, into iTunes (pointing at my phone) and it would be on the phone!
This latest iTunes seems so horrible and difficult. I spent a good half hour trying all sorts of hacks and reading help pages, still can't put this newest version of the same song on there.
I'm not a MAC user. I know little about Apple apart from using the phone itself (rarely use iTunes unless I HAVE TO).
I'm also too scared to 'sync' my phone with itunes in case i lose stuff I've put on the phone that has since been removed from my computer (mostly songs).
I imported a ton of folders of albums and many have already been moved back to their original folders or now been deleted to save hard drive space.
I'm an apple n00b so I figure I need links to info on basics of adding and removing songs from itunes, and importing/deleting songs from the phone itself.
I have looked at help from inside itunes but there are just pages and pages of info and it's hard to know just what to look up when a lot of these leads from a search don't even answer my question.
Feel like giving up and getting a completely different phone :/

    Hi Battelalon,
Is it possible you are manually managing the content for your iPhone and those albums are not selected in the content to be synced? See this article about the subject -
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
Of course another possibility is that you have not more space available on your iPhone. You may have to decide what you want on it and use the above feature to select what you want.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L
