Import SWF created in Catalyst

The Catalyst program I created photo gallery and exporting him into swf. Then I put it into a new project (web pages) in the Catalyst Import function. In the program I see him as a SWF Asset, but the test (Run) even when exporting to the SWF, the original interface does not appear. SWF files created in another program (Sothink) appear normal.
Thanks

Unfortunately you can't import an SWF from Flash Catalyst into Flash CS5.  Flash Catalyst uses the Flex Framework for building the its SWF.  Flash CS5 does not use the Flex Framework and doesn't know what to do with that kind of file.  You can load an SWF from Flash CS5 into your Flash Catalyst project, though.

  • How to resize a swf created in Catalyst?

    Hello,
I have created a beautiful site in Catalyst. My problem is: I don't know a code to edit the size of the swf created in Catalyst.
The swf is now 800 x 600, but I want it to automatically fit the browser.
I already made an swf in Flash Professional CS5, and then import it in Dreamweaver, and edit 800 x 600 to 100% x 100%.
This works really well, but when I do the same with my swf created in Catalyst, it doesn't.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    Matiege

    Hi Matiege,
What version of Fc are you using? The latest version of FC, called "Panini", supports constraints, so you can run the project, resize the browser and all objects that are using constraints will be aligned properly. The object layout constraints are specified with so called "suction cup" displayed when the object is selected. There is also a few options if you right click on the suction cup. The "Panini" is available for download at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcatalyst_panini/.
The older version of FC supports absolute coordinates only.
    Does it answer your question?

  • Why an imported SWF created in Flash CS5 doesn't works fine?

perhaps I am not lucky. I find no answer.. perhaps im a noob (daaaah)  please if you can help it would be appreciated!
I'm new in flash and flash catalyst.. but i'm not bad at all hehe. After publishing a swf from flash CS5 (that works perfect when i preview it) i want to import it in flash catalyst...
... i click on import swf and i select my swf. When i execute the project (CTRL+ENTER) in flash catalyst the motion tweens created in Adobe Flash doesn't start
Even if it works well when i run the SWF from desktop or in Adobe Flash directly

A detail that could help you guys..
I used FlashEFF2 in Adobe Flash CS5 (as a Text Effect (it's awesome)) and this effect only starts and works fine in Flash Catalyst. The motions tweens created in Adobe Flash CS5 doesn't starts in Flash Catalyst
    Thanks to read it!

  • Importing SWF creates bitmap and graphic

I've created my user interface in Photoshop >
opened file in ImageReady and exported document as SWF for my Flash
8 pro. When the SWF is imported to Library in Flash, the library
gets a bitmap AND a graphic of each image.
    Can someone explain why?
Which should I use on the stage?
Do I need to keep both library items?
    *Confused*

    B_Milou,
    > I've created my user interface in Photoshop > opened
    file in
    > ImageReady and exported document as SWF for my Flash
    > 8 pro.
    Okay.
    > When the SWF is imported to Library in Flash, the
    library gets
    > a bitmap AND a graphic of each image.
Photoshop is a raster image editor. It has some vector
    capability, but
generally speaking, it creates bitmaps. It, coupled with
    ImageReady, may
have the capability of exporting those bitmaps as SWF files,
    but those SWFs
are merely "wrappers" for a bunch of bimap files.
    > Which should I use on the stage?
If you want to tween these assets, you'll likely want the
    symbols (not
the image files) on the Stage.
    > Do I need to keep both library items?
Yes. The symbols merely hold the image files. If you delete
    the image
files, the symbols will be empty.

  • Import SWF created in FC to FC

I created a sequence of images as a slideshow using the FC, exported and everything works normally, but now when I import this swf to another project it displays the imagesthat were out, that would be part of the transition, as if the SWF was opened for editingagain.
btw this does not happen if I use a swf that was not generated by the FC.
    A problem when exporting?
    Can anyone help me?
    thx

If you export to a tab delimited format and the first row contains the exact field names of the fields in the form (order doesn't matter), then you can import a row of data into the form using Acrobat. You can also automate the process using JavaScript in Acrobat.

  • Mi swf (created on Catalyst) is cropped when I resize it on Modzilla and Explorer

I made a Flash Catalyst file, and then exported it into an SWF File. When I open the HTML file with the swf, I try resizing or scaling the file and its gets cropped and is not in proportion with the window. Here you can see my file: www.estaydesigned.cl. Please!!! I need help

In Flash Catalyst 1.0, the swf will not resize. To add this functionality you will have to manually add it within Flash Builder. This can be a complex process. In Flash Catalyst 5.5, resizable applications are now supported. FC 5.5 is slated to ship in May 2011. Don't know if that helps are not.

  • Actions not working to imported swf files in Flash Catalyst

    Hi,
I have a problem with manipulating my imported swf files (created in Flash professional) in Flash Catalyst CS5. Whenever I add any of the swf control actions to a swf file in the timeline such as 'stop', the animation ignores it and keeps replaying. I tried to add action sequence when a certain button is pressed, and also tried to create 'On application Start' and added 'stop' so that the animation stops immediately when the application opens. No matter what I do, the animation refuses to perform the actions and simply replays. The animation is a simple shape tween between 2 states with no action script attached to it. I published the animation as an swf and exported it to Flash Catalyst. Is there any suggestions whatsoever on why this is happening? Is it something to do with setting up my flash file prior to import? The only way I figured out to stop the animation from playing is adding action script to the flash file in Flash Professional however this is not what I want because I would like the animation to be controlled by components in my flash Catalyst document.
    Thanks

You can make you swf a custom component with 2 states.
The first state will be empty and rename it "OFF" the second state will have your swf file and name it ON.
Then go back to your artboard/project, add your 2 buttons ON & OFF.
For the ON button add interaction "play transition to custom component ON"
For the OFF button add interaction "play transition to custom component OFF"
    Here is an example swf_control

  • Cannot import swf/air file from flash catalyst

Cannot import swf/air file from flash catalyst, states error in code, there is nothing in the properties panel.

    Hi Kristen
Have you tried using ActionScript 2? You might give that a go
    and see if things improve.

  • Imported swfs display different every time

    Hello -
I have tried importing swfs, and each time it displays different when published. The first time, it resized and could be seen completely within the window. The second time, it did not resize so only the top left of the image could be seen. The third, time it sort of resized, but is still cut off on the bottom. I inserted the same swf file the same way each time, so I'm not sure what affects the way it displays when published. I'm using the trial version of Presenter version 7.0.7 Build 7746. The swfs were created in Captivate 5.0, and I'm using Office/PowerPoint 2010. Below are examples of what each looks like after the publish. Does anyone know how I can control how the swf will display once published?
    Thanks!
    Katherine

    Hello -
I think it has to do with resizing the swf once it is imported. I resized it first by widening it so it went the entire width of the page - the second time I believe I did the same thing and got the larger image. Then I tried various ways of resizing and also not moving or resizing at all, and got these different results. It is not consistent, the same way of resizing did not result in the same output. Is it not possible to resize the imported swf - for example, resize so it takes up the entire slide? Below is a link to download the swf I'm using.

  • Importing Swf

    Hi there,
I have created a flash file using codebaby and it is transparent; however, when I bring it into adobe presenter, it has a black background.  How do I get rid of the black background of the imported swf file?  It looks great in other tools; however, I need it to be transparent in adobe presenter.  I have 7.0.
    Adobe presenter 7.0.6 build 7604

    Hi there,
I am using AS2; however I still get the black background, so then I tried capturing the background and using that in my background and I get a border.

  • HELP my imported SWF

I have created an animation of a superman like character flying with the animation being his cape flapping, his eye moving occasionally, and he moves up and down slightly to imitate the movement of flight.
I exported that animation as a SWF movie.
I then opened a new document and then imported that SWF file into the library to use, but when I place it on the stage, the functionality doesn't work. The only animation that has carried over from the original file is the cape flapping. The moving eye doesn't work, and he doesn't move up and down anymore.
I'm quite new to animation in flash, so maybe I'm exporting and importing too many times or something, or I'm just not going about it the right way.
Should multiple animations be done in the same document? or should they be done individually and then all imported into a new document where they all come together?
All help and advice most welcome.
    Thank you.

First of all I done all the artwork in Illustrator, then I imported the pieces into Flash and set them in position, putting on seperate layers the parts that were to to move, eg. the pupil in the eye moving within the eyeball.
For the cape, I had done what you said not to do, but it's the only thing that's working, ironically. I made the flapping cape animation in a separate flash document using 5 different images and changing to each along the timeline every 1 second. I then exported the flapping cape as a SWF movie and then imported it into the flash file where the body of the character was and positioned it where it should be.
The eyeball moving occasionally was done using a motion tween, as was the gentle moving up and down of the man flying.
Then I exported ALL that as another SWF movie so that it was one animation (which actually included 3 different animations. 2 done in the document, and one imported SWF), but it's only the flapping cape that continues to work even if I copy all the layers across instead of importing the SWF.
I know that all sounds a bit of a mess to people who know how it should be done, but I'm a bit lost at the moment as I'm not sure which steps I should be taking and in which order.
Thanks for your help with this.

  • Resizing imported swf files...

I have a movie clip that I want to import a swf file into,
but the swf is larger than the movie clip's area. I tried using a
resizing code for importing images that I found, but it makes the
swf very small. Is there a way to control the size of the imported
    swf?

I did this recently where I had a backdrop clip that I wanted
to serve as a 'screen' for jpgs I loaded in. I wanted them to
resize to the full extent of the background clip and maintain their
aspect ratio. The backdrop clip could have different dimensions at
different points in time as well... anyhow this should work with
    swfs same as jpegs.
So I'll explain it in my context as I don't know exactly
yours (sorry this might sound a bit complicated because of that).
#1 If your holderclip is called
imageHolder and it contains a single clip inside at location
    0,0 called
    imageBackdrop
#2 You create an emptyMovieClip inside imageHolder and use it
to load your swf into using a Loader with a listener
#3 you have some code similar to this in your onLoadInit
event for the Loader (onLoadInit lets you initialise things like
size location etc before it displays)
If you can do something like that then I think you should be
on the right track for what I think you want to do.

  • Import SWF or FLV Jobs

Hi, I search a way to import FLV-jobs, created with Flash
    CS3.
Problem: I don't find any way to export a Flash as a FLV-file
    - it takes lot of options, but nut a FLV-suffix.
Secend Question: Who can I import SWF-files into Captivate?
The only option I find is "Insert/Animation", which is used for
    animated buttons.
Thanks a lot for any advice, Wolvo

    Hi Wolvo
Insert > Animation is what you are looking for. It should
allow you to insert the following file types:
    * SWF
    * GIF
    * AVI
    * FLA (.FLA is the Flash source file format)
Seems odd that Flash doesn't have the capability to create
.FLV format. I'm wondering if you maybe just need some sort of an
additional file you can install to make it do this.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Embedding a .swf published in Catalyst in another Catalyst project

    Ok,
i've been trying different things but now i can't figure it out.
It's actually a school assignement where we have to create an interface similar to a smartphone.
Me and my partner decided to create a Catalyst project for each page and publish each of them in swf. Then, we wanted to create a main Catalyst project that was embedding each swf in different states.
    BUT
It just doesn't work! The embedding doesn't work.
Is the swf published in Catalyst actually  compatible to embed in Catalyst?
    Thanks!

A custom component is like other components like buttons, scrollbars, etc.  except you get to define all the behaviors and states.
    Try this
    1. draw a sqaure
    2. right click and choose Convert Artwork to Component > Custom Component
    3. Now double-click the custom component to edit it
    4. Create a few states and modify the square in each state
    5. to exit editing the custom component double-click the white area of the artboard
    6. Now add a button to the app
    7. With the button selected go to the Interactions panel and choose "On Click, Play Transition to State" and pick a state of your custom component.
Notice that in this example the application only has one state, but a custom component with multiple states was able to capture different appearances of the app.
You can think of designing your app by breaking down the functional parts into custom components. For example: navigation bar, content area, ad area, etc.
    Regarding "export library":
After creating a custom component or customizing a built-in component like button you will notice that the library will contain an item representing the definition of that component. When you export as an fxpl file, all components in your library are exported.

  • Imported swf

    Hi,
I am hoping someone will be able to help here. I have a
10-slide presentation in Captivate 3 and the first slide is a flash
animation I created in Flash CS3. When I test the project using the
preview option - In Web Browser everything works fine and as
    expected.
My problems start when I publish my project. I have tried
swf, exe, with and without preloaders; I add a blank slide in right
at the start to see if that was the problem again with and without
a preloader. The imported swf does not play no matter what I do.
After a while though the click button become active and when I
click it moves on to the next slide. I just need to work out why my
first slide does not play correct, as this is a key slide.
I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
    Kind regards

    Hi Dave
I know you have already found your answer, but I have a
    question and/or comment.
When you published, were you certain to include the
additional .SWF among the files on the server? If not, that
probably explains why it failed. By changing to Flash 6, you caused
the .SWF to be embedded inside the main Captivate movie, hence no
additional file to ensure you distribute.
    Cheers... Rick
