Import technical system details into SLD

HI ,
I was looking for the way to import the technical system data for a SAP R/3 system into the SLD .
Is there a automated way of doing this or do we have to key in the details .

Yes. It will import the all the details. The RZ70 has an option to run a batch job for every 720 minutes ( 12 hrs. you can change this). That means for every run, if there it will update all the components it has. No need of manual work.

Error while importing technical systems in SLD

Hi all,
I was importing technical systems from one SLD to another by Export-Import.
While importing the content i got an error 92 out of 93 objects successfully imported.
for one object following error is shown.

TREX as an Technical System in the SLD

Via the sldreg my TREX instance is entering it's information into the SLD. But now I have to add my TREX instance to a technical system in the SLD.
Normally an ABAP or a Java system registers itself into the SLD with a technical system, but TREX doesn't do this
How do I add my TREX instance to a technical system in the SLD?

How PI uses technical system information in SLD

Hi Experts,
I know there are business system and technical system registered and associated in SLD.
Especially for those SAP systems, in our normal PI scenario, how PI uses the technical information which was registered under Technical System in SLD since we need again configure the host/port and credentials details in the sender/receiver channel in ID.
Or SLD is just one central place for collecting all the technical information together only for life cycle management?
There is nothing more to do with the Tech System (SLD), PI only needs the business system in scenario.

Let me provide an example to describe the need fot technical systems.
Think of an outbound scenario : SAP ECC/CRM -> PI -> Third Party (ex: SOAP)
Now just think how PI will identify what the sender is (ECC/CRM or 3rd party) if the TS is not registered in SLD? The Business Systems are logical systems whcih points to Technical Systems (application systems that are installed in system landscape). TS hold the information about the actual systems, its host, IP, clients etc.
Now based on the source BS which points to TS, the target binding is done in Receiver Determination pipeline step. Now if there is no TS attached to the BS how can PI identify whether ECC or CRM is sending the data and hence will not be able to identify the relevant target for the source.
Think of Business Systems as sitting on top of Technical Systems, and when the landsape details are not known for third party systems we use Business Component/Business Service.

Buisness system can not find the relevant technical system in xi sld

I set up r3 business system and technical system landscape in xi SLD, somehow the business system cannot find the relevant system landscape, does anybody have any suggestions what's possiblly goes wrong in my sld setting or how should I debug?

Technical system creation in SLD

Hi,
1. I have installed Netweaver sneak preview-java edition.
2. I am trying to create a new technical system for WebAS ABAP. We are on ECC 5.0 .
3. I have imported Cimsap.zip and content.zip successfully.
4. Now in the screen "Technical system wizard-software products and components" under "Available products" section i am not finding an entry fo ECC5.0. Here what system name should i select to proceed further.
Do i need to make any entry in host and services files, or anything else i have to do?

You will probably achieve the same result if you were to use SAP R/3 4.7 Try using it instead, see if it works. I think that it will.

Is there a way to import the exported products the .zip file, including software components into SLD? Under Software Catalog--> Products, I donu2019t see any import button! I am in XI 7.0.

Technical system in client SLD is not updated in master SLD

Hi,
We are running on PI 7.0. We have 2 SLDs in (system A and system B) and both the SLD's are connected with additional SLD (system C). System C' SLD dont have system B's technical system for Web AS JAVA at all and Web AS ABAP only last updated on 03/05/2009. What and where I should check on the configurations if anything is missing. System A's techincal system are being updated daily to system C's SLD.

Eror Creating New Technical System in portal(SLD)

Hi creating SLD through Techinal system(in portal).When i click to register Message server to enter message server name and port ,it is displaying a below error:-

Import JPG Properties Details into Photoshop

I have thousands of jpg photos that have the photograph's description documented in the jpg properties - details - comments field (right click the jpg file and select properties, then details, then comments). How do now edit / view these jpg properties within Photshop Elements 9?

It should see them on a simple "sync" of the folder in Lightroom. Perhaps you still have "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" unchecked in your preferences (the general tab).
Also, it is far simpler to simply export directly to JPEG from the PSD files in Lightroom. It will do all those things (flattening, shrinking, sharpening, etc.) for you in one step

** Is it possible to change the IP of the existing Technical System in SLD?

I want to do RFC to RFC scenario. When I try to import the RFC from the Business System, RFC is not imported. When I looked the corresponding technical system in the SLD, it is having the old IP address. That's why I am not able to import. So, is it possible to change the IP of the existing technical system in the SLD ?

Reason being : We can associate n business syatems with one tech system with and we configure the scenarios via business systems which itself uses Tech system , if we will make changes in tech system later on it will affect the other scenarios also which are using the same tech system

Hi,
The problem is due to whatever technical system your are trying to create those details are already contain another technical system name in SLD. We can't create more then one technical system with same parameters. Better to use existing technical system or delete existing one create new one.

SLD - Technical System Wizard - Select System: Only None (Standalone J2EE)

Hi, I want to connect to some RFC-Modules on a SAP/R3 System from my NetWeaver Web DynPro Application. Therefore I have to create JCO-Connections for the Models I created (MODELDATA_DEST and RFC_METADATA_DEST). For this I have to define the System I want these JCO-Connections to connect to in my SLD which I'm trying to do using the "Technical System Wizard". (SLD -> Technical Landscape -> New Technical System -> Web AS Java (because I'm developing a Java Application).
In the next screen I have to specifiy the location of my Server. I thought, that here, I have to define my SAP/R3 Server to which the JCO-Connections for my two models shall be connected. But the only option I can choose for "Web AS ABAP" (The ABAP System where my RFC-Modules are stored I guess) is "None (Standalone J2EE)".
Why is that? Or am I missing something? I thought I have to specify the SAP/R3 System containing the RFC-Modules here and not my local NetWeaver Server.

Hi,
there seems to be a misunderstanding here. For JCO to work you need to set up the ABAP-System as a technical system in SLD, otherwise the Java-System is not able to determine information like Hostname and Portnumber for the RFC. Of course it's good to set up your WAS-Java in SLD as a technical system as well, but for the JCO the ABAP side is more important as far as I can see.
To have a clean start I suggest that you set up all involved technical systems in your SLD.

SLD Technical System

When we create a Technical System in the SLD, it will not accept a fully qualified DNS name, the name seems to truncate at the first period. (i.e sdn.sap.com turns into sdn).
Does anyone know how to work around this issue other than adding an entry to the host file?

Hi Andrew,
Please read the "Parameter Help" for host name:
"By default, host names in SLD are written lower case without any network domain."
So I guess you can't give a full DNS name even if this may lead to confilicts:
"This implies to use different System Landscape Directories for network domains having name conflicts at this level"

AS JAVA technical system not updated/registered in SLD

Hi,
We have setup the SLD bridge connection from our SLD with 7.0 SAP J2EE
server which is our local SLD to SLD with 6.40 SAP J2EE server which is the master or central SLD. Actually we have this set up, that we have configured a local SLD for our Netweaver 2004s SR2 or Netweaver 7.0 system and connect it to the central SLD which is also a Netweaver system but of lower release, Netweaver 2004 SR1.
Since Netweaver contains both ABAP and Java, I can see that our WAS ABAP technical system (of the SLD 7.0) was
succesfully registered and updated on the central SLD 6.40 but I cannot
register or update the WAS JAVA technical system (of the SLD 7.0) in the central SLD 6.40, but it can be updated in our local SLD which is then connected to the central SLD as mentioned.
Since my update for the WAS ABAP was already working and its updated
in the central SLD 6.40, what can we do to achieve the same result for the WAS
JAVA? Because if it works with WAS ABAP, what is wrong then with WAS JAVA? What might be the cause or some other configurations to be made?
Also can we synchronize the CIM updated with all the SLD? We want to
see if we can just update the CIM content of SLD 6.40 and pushed this
with the other SLD on the system e.g. SLD of 7.0.

I think you should certain configurations for your system to be listed under SAp Java systems.
1.Go to visual admin,c:\usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin
run go.bat.
Then go to services-----SLD Data supplier.
go to Http settins under that,enter the details of central SLD you want to connect,
hostname,http port,sld admin user and password.save it.
go to CIM client settings,enter the same details there and save.
Then check CIM client generation test.it should be sucessfull.
then trigger SLD data transfer at the top left corner.
it also should be sucessfull.
Then your system will be listed.
2.may be you have to create a role called Lcr administrator with all Lcr* actions assigned to it.
then this Lcr administrator role should be assigned to ur administrator user.
