  • Import in iPhoto from iPhone 3G S

Import of pictures in iPhoto does not work on my MacMini, but it works fine on other Mac's. In the iPhoto screen the locations where they are supposed to be placed are seen as empty frameworks. After "importing" (which not happens), the files are indicated with "unknown format".
Hopefully anybody can help me. Thanks in advance!
    Willem.

I found in a different thread a solution for my problem: resetting the iPhone by holding down the power key (upperside) and the main key (down on the front) simultaneously until the Apple logo is shown.

  • How to import photo library from iPhone?

    Hello everyone,
I would like to import my photos from iPhone - but those not taken WITH iPhone.
I'll explain: I have photos on my PC. I can sync them to the iPhone. I now would like to import these into iPhoto. Under Windows, I can import as soon as I plug in the phone or access its disk. How can I do the same in my Mac?
    Thanks,
    Beto.

iPhone is not designed for this. No support for importing from the Photo Library, only designed to import pix you took on the camera.
You can look at PhoneView, which will pull photos from the Photo Library. HOWEVER, these will be down-sized low-res photos, not high-quality originals. You'd be MUCH better off using a USB drive to copy the photos from the PC and transfer them to the Mac.

  • Can not import large videos from iphone to MAC or PC.

When I try to import photos from my iPhone 4s to my MAC (with iPhoto) or PC(with explorer) I got no problem at all but with videos larger than 2-3 gb, I receive the message:iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image. Anyone has an idea how to overcome this?

Use Image Capture to upload the video files to a folder on the Desktop and import into iPhoto from there.

After import video,s from iphone 5 to a HP computer (Windows 7 ) all the video,s are sideways ! No problem with ipad4 Newest)
    How to fix this!

Check to see if the phone has enough free space on it.  Go to Settings->About on you iPhone and see how much free space there is.  It's likely that your phone is out of free space.  You could also try using a free peice of software called Pic Share It, to drag and drop the video directly to your iPhone wirelessly.  Here's a video showing how it works.

    Hi SyahirahS,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
If the video was synced from iTunes when you connected your iPhone to the PC, you would have to remove it the same way.

  • How to import edited photos from iphone to Windows-based laptop without losing XMP edits

When I import photos from iphone into Lightshop all edits are lost. how do I prevent that?
    thanks
    Robert

You fail to understand the question. "How can I import edited photos from iPhone 5S to PC (Windows 7)?" The key is that the photos taken on my iPhone have been edited on the iPhone. The original photo exists in "Photo Stream," and the edited photo exists in "Camera Roll."
When I import (synch, transfer, any synonym you prefer is fine with me) photos, they are written to two areas available on my PC:
    Photostream images are at
       Computer\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream\
and Camera Roll (edited phots) are at
       C:\Users\[my name]\Pictures\[synch-date]\
The images shown in "C:\Users\[my name]\Pictures\[synch-date]\" (the Camera Roll photos) are not as they were edited, however. I suspect that the iPhone "edits" images by applying a layer that manipulates the image without actually editing the file.
I have found so far that my best recourse is to import photos to my PC, edit them there in Photoshop (or other software), and then upload the images as I want them edited back to the iPhone. I would prefer to simply edit the pictures once on the iPhone and be able to import the edited files to my PC.

  • Receive an error message when trying to import any videos from iphone to iphoto on my desktop.  Help?

I have 6 videos on my iphone, varying in length from 24 seconds to 11 minutes, that will not import to iphoto.  I have tried to import them as a group and individually but get a message that 'there was a problem accessing the file.'  I had no difficulty importing over 300 photos from the phone to the desktop.  Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Anne

See if you can use Image Capture to upload the video files to a folder on the Desktop and then import from there into iPhoto.

  • IPhoto won't import .mov files from iPhone

I'm trying to import the photos and videos from my iPhone and the following screen shows up:
I've only had this trouble since updating to Yosemite. Any help is appreciated.
    MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010)
    8GB Memory
    2.53 GHz Intel Core i5

There are many, many posts of this nature in these forums.  See, for example:
    iphoto won’t import mov video
For many, rebuilding the XPC helper cache solves the problem off the bat. In terminal try this, and reboot:
    sudo /usr/libexec/xpchelper --rebuild-cache
The above posted by Andy Ball on a thread related to a similar problem with Aperture:
Re: Import video to Aperture library on Mountain Lion
    Other things to try:
    1. create a fresh iPhoto library and try that.  (hold down opt while launching iPhoto)
    2. create a new OS X user (in system preferences) and try there.
In my case – and many cases – neither of those things work either, which means the problem is system wide.  Again suggesting that the xpc helper solution might work. But for me it did not either.
There are other suggestions that there are conflicts with Perian (on Yosemite) and flip4mac.  In my case uninstalling both of those didn't solve it either.
So maybe one of those solutions will work for you, results apparently vary.  But this is a huge unresolved issue many others are having as well.  I have a case with a senior apple advisor open, still unresolved. His suggestion of course, at this point, is an archive and re-install. I'm not ready to go there yet.
BTW, another thing he had me try was to import the file with Image Capture (which works).  Then open it in QuickTime Player X.  Then try exporting to 480p.  Does QuickTime crash?  It does for me.
    My summary:
    1. Files successfully import with Image Player.
    2. Files play with QuickTime Player X.
    3. QuickTime Player X crashes when exporting to 480p.
    4. Files import with iMove.
    5. Files fail to import with iPhoto (unrecognized format as with OP)
    6. iPhoto import failure/errors are system wide and not specific to a library or a user.
    7. rebuilding xpchelper cache and rebooting in my case does not resolve issue.
    8. same videos import fine in iPhoto on a totally different system (laptop running same versions of OS X 10.10 and iPhoto 9.5.1)

  • IPhoto 6.06 won't import recent photos from iphone

I've been importing photos from my iPhone for over a year, and suddenly now iPhoto 6.06 doesn't seem to see the most recent pictures on the iPhone, and won't import them. iPhoto simply seems to ignore the last 18 photos on the iPhone. If I repeat the process, it imports the same 44 photos again.
Does anybody know what's going on, and how to fix it? I think something like this happened several months ago, and just when I was about to bring it to the Genius Bar, it started working correctly again. I'm not confident that it will fix itself this time, and even if it does, I want to know what's happening.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • IPhoto won't import .mov video from iPhone

I just got my wife a new Mac mini.  It is running the latest versions of Mountain Lion and iPhoto.
She's recorded some short videos of the kids with her iPhone (4s), and wants to organize these in iPhoto alongside pictures of the kids (she's done this before).
However, since getting her new computer, when she tried to import the videos, she got an error message that said the files were an unrecognized format.
We were able to retrieve the videos and copy them to her hard drive using Image Capture; however, she would still like to import them to iPhoto.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Lost photos from SD cards in Mac while importing new pictures from iPhone 5

I imported photos to my MBP iPhoto from my camera, I subsequently selected those photos from my SD cards. After that I tried to import photos from my iPhone 5S to the same MBP. At the end there was an error message saying importing could not be done. Then I found out that the imported photos from my SD cards were gone. Is it because I used both my camera and iPhone the same day? How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Elements User
The issue is not with how I view them in Elements but how Elements decides to re-name the pictures while importing them from my SD card to my hard drive.  I would expect that it'll re-name the photos while uploading by using the custom name I gave it(ex Europe Vacation) and start the numbers (ex Europe Vacation 0001.jpg) with the oldest picture and work its way up.  However is doing it folder by folder (folders in SD card) and using the chronological order inside each folder. This means that the photos in the most recent folder created by the camera will be re-named 0001-000x and the second most recent folder will be renamed 000x-000y and so on until the last folder.  When I import photos using the Windows Importer it'll custom name each photo using the date/time taken in ascending order regardless of what folder they are in.
Any additional help will be appreciated as I'd like to use Elements to do the import, if not I'll have to go back and use the Windows Importer.
