  • Editing MP4 files in CS6 then importing into Premiere Elements 13

I would like to import MP4 files from a Phantom Drone into Photoshop CS6 ---Edit those files--Then rather then making the movie in CS6 --import into Premiere Elements 13 to edit and render ..Is it possible to use both program's to enhance the final movie?    Thanks Tom

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running?
If your Photoshop CS6 comes with Bridge, I am wondering if there is a way to go from
CS6 Bridge to Elements Organizer 13. From Elements Organizer 13, you could import from there
into the Premiere Elements 13 Editor.
    Quick results...
Photoshop CS5.1 Extended, File Menu/Export/Render Video
    File Menu/Browse in Bridge
Right click .mp4 export in Bridge, select Open With, select Adobe Premiere Elements 13 which needs to be set as default.
Seems 13 is opening but without the .mp4.
    More later.

  • How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

I never did it from Windows to Mac.
I assume you need to move everything to Mac PSE12 (or PSE 13) by downloading the 30 day free trial of PSE 12 or 13, and then once everything is working, use File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog in Lightroom. Your tags and albums will remain intact. I believe the face recognition transfers as well to keywords, but the location in the photo of the face will be gone as Lightroom has no such feature.

Launch Elements 11 Organizer. On the top left, you will find a big Import button. Click on it, and choose last option (From iPhoto).

What is this HDR-HS7E - a miniDV camcorder that lets you do DV and HDV capture firewire?
True, the DV and HDV capture firewire into the Premiere Elements 13 Capture window is gone. But, have you
looked at the workaround suggested by PRE_help in this forum. The workaround is found in the following

  • Import multiple Photoshop Elements catalogs

    Hello folks,
I just imported one Photoshop Elements catalog from PSE6.0 into LR4 using "File:Update PSE catalog ...". That worked well.
As I'm using multiple PSE catalogs I then wanted to import the next one into LR4.
So I switched to the 2nd catalog in PSE to make it the current catalog in PSE and tried to follow the same procedure in LR4.
Alas, the menu entry "File:Update PSE catalog ..." in LR4 is now grayed out, so that I can't import the 2nd PSE catalog.
That would make it pointless to move from PSE to LR4.
Can it be that LR4 assumes, having imported one PSE catalog is enough? If yes, is there any way to overcome that?
My platform: W'7 64bit, PSE6.0, LR4.0, installs in German language, PSE catalogs located in a user selected folder
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    OMB
EDIT: I finally found out how to overcome that limitation myself:
    1. Close LR4
    2. Open LR preferences file "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 4 Preferences.agprefs" in a text editor
2.a You'd better make a backup copy of that file before playing with it
    3. Locate the "Adobe_successfulUpgrades******" entry - in my case it started in line 5
    4. Delete that entry; important: make sure to delete all lines of this entry: the ones ending on a backslash and the closing ",
    5. Save and reopen LR4 -> the disabled menu entry is now available again

The CSH file simply stores a Custom Shape for Photoshop to re-use.
By its nature you can only have one active at any one time but you can view them all together in the drop-down from the Options Bar or in the Preset Manager.

  • Slideshow in Elements 13 won't import to Premier Elements to burn DVD

I created a slideshow in Elements 13 and tried to create a DVD of it.  When it went to import to Premier Elements, I got an error message that the file couldn't be imported because I lacked the required codec .  I am working on an iMac 14, OS X 10.9.5.  How do I find/download the "missing" codec (I purchased this bundle specifically in order to do this!!)?

OK I think the problem is probably related to the platform swap and you may need your account re-set. Only Adobe staff can do that.  You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
    1. Adobe Photoshop Elements
    2. Adobe ID, and signing-in
    3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the area marked chat 24/7, then click “start chat ”
It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. Have your serial number and previous case number available. The agent can directly troubleshoot your system if you agree to activate the Adobe Connect add-on.

  • Converting 1080/50p video for import into Premiere Elements

    Hi there,
I'm currently looking into buying an HD camcorder, and editing software to go with it.  I'm considering getting a camcorder which can record in 1080/50p for future-proofing, however I see that Premiere Elements doesn't currently support 1080/50p editing.  I was wondering whether I could sensibly shoot video in 1080/50p for archiving, but convert it down to either 1080/50i or 720/50p prior to importing into Premiere?  Is there a suitable intermediate input format which Premiere supports and which wouldn't result in a significant loss of quality due to the extra transcoding step?
Also, what is the recommended system requirement for 1080/50i and 720/50p editing?  I have a 2007 Macbook (2.2 GHz Core2 Duo, 4GB RAM), would that be sufficient?
    Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the very quick response Steve.
I suspect shooting 1080/50i is likely to be the way to go, I'll obviously have a play once I get the camera.  I just wanted to check whether it's feasible to shoot in 1080/50p, but convert to 720/50p prior to importing into Premiere Elements.  That way I can keep a copy of the 1080/50p clip to use in a few years time when the consumer editing software has caught up.
If I were to do that, what's the recommended file format to convert to prior to import?  Is there something similar to AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec) which is fast to convert to and edit from - ideally I'd rather not convert to 720/50p H.264.  Is there a list of Premiere Elements' supproted input formats somewhere?

  • Importing Folders Into Elements 9

I am trying to import a folder of photos from my hard drive into an album In elements 9.  I am able to import the photos, however the file names and keywords are not showing.  Help - this is not good with hundreds of photos. Thanks in advance
. I originally downloaded these from my camera to Lightroom 3, gave them filenames and keywords, then exported to a folder on my hard drive  Thanks
    Message was edited by: bonphotography

Thanks for your quick response.  I agree this is an awkward workflow.  I've only used Lightroom for a short time and just started using elements. I'm under the impression that Lightroom stores originals without taking up hard drive space. If I imported directly to elements, and then made adjustments, I'd have 2 versions of the photo. Also, I'd have to do save as, rather than just save if I wanted an original.  Please let me know if my thinking is all wrong!  I found the show details so now I am able to see the file names.   I did select the keywords to import.  I think my problem is I don't know where I would see the keywords when in elements.  Thanks for your help

  • Sony AVCHD conversion software for import to Premiere Elements

I am testing out a Sony HXR-NX3 camcorder.  Planning to use it for wedding videos so I'm looking at the color and low light capabilities.  When I copied the footage from the SD card to my PC then dragged the files into Adobe Premiere Elements v10 I noticed the sound did not come along.  After some research, I found an article that stated:  "In order to edit Sony HXR-NX3 60p MTS files smoothly, the easy workaround is to use 3rd-party to rewrap and convert 1080 60p footage a more "editable" format."
Here is the link to the article:  http://www.brorsoft.com/how-to/import-sony-hxr-nx3-footage-to-adobe-premiere.html
I filmed in 1080/30p (not 60) but apparently it has the same issue.  I also read that the Sony needs special software to combine files (>2g) that it split during recording and also if you are trying to combine files that crossed SD cards.
I found three possible pieces of software and wonder if anyone has a recommendation.
I am running W8.  Adobe Premiere Elements 10. Footage shot at 1080/30p 17mps.
Sony Content Management Utility (which requires the physical camcorder to activate).  I could only find v1 online.  (Camcorder is a rental.)

Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac (not sure this will work on Windows OS)

    From a Premiere Elements perspective...
Please take a look at the blog post PE12: Seamless File Merging Before Import"
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE12: Seamless File Merging Before Import
It uses Command Prompt to get the job done.
It may be on the primitive side when it comes to the converter mentioned, but it might just take care of the audio issues and the files merging if those are the target concerns?
Please let us know if you decide to try the approach on a mini test run basis.
    Thanks.

The correct way to transfer your image files and your catalog to a new computer is to make a full backup and a restore from the organizer as explained here:

  • Trouble importing photos into Elements 8 under Windows 7

Elements 8 is rejecting jpeg photos I am trying to import from SD card or DVD. The photos were taken with different cameras, and ones I've imported from successfully before. It labels the files as "corrupted", or "organizer doesn't recognize this file format" or other strange messages. I've successfully  imported these files into Picassa, and Windows explorer - they are plain jpegs.

So right after posting the question, I decided to try to first import into the file system and then import from the file system, and that worked. But its a pain because it changes my workflow.
A possible workaround: You could use Windows Live Photo Gallery to download into your folders; the WLPG downloader is pretty good (WLPG is the version you download from Microsoft, not the one built in to Vista).  Then you could use the Organizer's File > Watch Folder feature to automatically import new photos that get added to your folders by the downloader.
Do you use lightroom? Do you recommend it?
I don't use Lightroom, but it has a very good reputation.  I know some other posters here use it.

  • Importing photos in elements 12

I just downloaded photoshop elements 12 and imported photos from my picture library. The photos imported but lacked the image numbers that were set by the camera. Can these #s be imported also? I was using the #s to mark the photos I wanted to put in a special folder so with out them I would have to start over in elements

The numbers are there, assuming you mean the file names assigned by the camera. Just go to View>File Names.

  • Importing folders into Elements

I've had Elements 11 for some time and can't use it as I can't seem to find a way to import an existing folder structure of images. It imports it flat, with every subfolder and parent folder listed on the same level, so my organisation is shot to hell.
I'm sure it's me being dumb, (but in fact it's Elements being incredibly un-intuitive) but can someone point me to how to import an existing folder structure with many images, retaining the structure after import?
Actually thinking about it, I can barely remember how to import at all, I found it quite difficult to achieve and I think I might have drag and dropped some files?

There are two views of folder in PSE11. One is the flat fodler view which you able to see on the UI by default. You may switch to tree view of folders by clicking Cmd+T or Ctrl+T or by clicking the small icon just infront of "My Folders" label in the left panel.
To import media from a folder hierarchy, you may choose too right click on corresponding folder in tree view of folders and choose "Import Meida". Or you may import using File >> get Photos and Videos >> From files and folders.
    Thanks
