Import unacceptable

I recorded an event on a Canon GL-1. I attempted to import it into iM6 on a Panasonic PV-GS150. The import stuttered, both audio and video. I attempted to import it on my trusty old Sony TRV-8. The audio and video were perfect, but iM treated each second of video as a separate clip. After 10 minutes, I had about 150 clips, and then iMovie stopped importing. I have not yet tried to import it with the Canon - I imagine that will work, but it isn't my camcorder.
Since upgrading from iM4 to iM6, I have been using the program mostly to work on movies already on the hard drive. This is the first time I've tried to import a new movie onto iM 6.
Oh, my preferences are set to 10 minutes per clip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Irene - I would guess that your problem is indeed caused by trying to import from a camera other than the one that recorded the tape in the first place. Most camera manuals contain warnings about the problem that is likely to produce.

  • I imported a COMPLETED book project into Aperture 3, only to discover that  the resolution of all the photos has been reduced to totally unacceptable levels

I imported a COMPLETED book project into Aperture 3, only to discover that  the resolution of all the photos has been reduced to totally unacceptable levels.  Any easy solution?
    Steps:
    1. I finished an Aperture 2 (Two) book project and tried to submit it to Apple for printing. At that point I learned (belatedly, obviously) that Apple no longer accepts books from Aperture 2. I don't know how I would have known to even ask if Aperture 2 had been sunsetted as far as book projects go.
    2. So I tried to download Aperture 3 ($79.99), only to be told that I couldn't download Aperture 3.5.1 because I was still running OSX 10.8.x. So I read current reviews for OSX 10.9.x, and ...
    3. Downloaded and installed the current operating system (about a 3-hours process for me).  OSX 10.9.2, here we are!
    4. Then I returned to the Apple Store, found, and purchased Aperture 3.  [For safety's sake, it would sure be nice to have a .dmg file I could copy and file away.  I lost a perfectly legal and good copy of Adobe's Photoshop Elements 3 years ago because I wasn't smart enough to make a safety copy, and when my iMac crashed (fried electronic components), I was left with a copy of the software that wouldn't run, and couldn't be verified as legit.]
    5. When Aperture 3 finished installing, I found and imported my COMPLETED Aperture 2 book project, which import seemed to proceed nominally -- the right number of pages, the right content on those pages, that sort of thing -- until I started looking more carefully at the pictures themselves.  All of them, about 300 of them, have been imported into an Aperture 3 book project in such a reduced resolution that they are fuzzy at the size the book will be printed.  Screen-capture of just one example (at 100% viewer setting):
I don't know what to do at this point to correct the problem, short of going through the entire book project, copy the custom captions (since those go away when you "delete" photo content), delete the photo, re-insert the photo, and paste back the custom caption.  Lather, rinse, repeat - ~300 times!  An estimated 2-3 hours of additional work.
Or does anyone in this community know either (1) that I did something wrong in the Aperture 2-to-Aperture 3 import (I don't recall being offered any options or choices in the process); or (2) that there is a wholesale one-step solution to my problem?
BTW, I tried to edit my "Product" info, but OSX 10.9.x is not in the pick list.  I am running OSX 10.9.2
    <Re-Titled By Host>

Frank, thanks for your note.  I wrote "COMPLETED" because I had gone to a lot of effort to get the content of the book precisely as I wanted it. I would fully expect to see my level of effort and care matched by functional competence in Aperture 3 to render the book the way I created it.  Too much to ask?
And yes, I upgraded the Aperture 2 Library first.  [Not ALL my tens of 000s of pix, because I use Lightroom selectively for photo editing. But Yes to the Aperture 2 Library.]  That step took a number of minutes, but seemed to work fine (no error messages of any kind).
Then I opened the existing book project in Aperture 3, which followed some "magic-box" process that took a minute or so.  As I said, when that step was done, by all appearances the book was ready to submit for printing - until I examined the photos a little more closely.  You did see the blurry example I included, didn't you? That is what each and every photo looks like.
Text-box content appears to have been rendered pertectly, for the record (including captions).
So, ... is this result something you have heard of before?  Do you know of a one-step solution?  Or am I looking at an extended picture-by-picture fix?

I know I am responding to my own thread, but I an SOOOO disgusted with Apple right now.
The new iOS 7 was the lead story on CNN today... and it wasn't positive. Easy to see why, it's a graphics disaster. It is ugly, difficult to read, doesn't interface aesthetically with the iPhone 4S, and gives everyone in America vertigo. Either fix the appearance, or find some way to allow us to roll back to our previous iOS. Do so quickly, or this life-long Apple customer [circa 1978] will be moving on. If this represents shades of what is coming with OS Maverick, I am petrified. Further, I am a GM of a chain of newspapers and websites in the Austin, Texas area. I will be ripping out a scathing editorial. The notion that we can't roll back from something millions of us hate is despicable. I'm giving you one week. Be sure I am not alone.

  • Unacceptably slow import?

    Hello -
I am a Linux sys admin. I know next to nothing about Oracle components or utilities. I am being
asked to help troubleshoot a problem.
Our Oracle consultants are running a process called 'imp', which is an old-style import process
taking a file on disk and importing it into Oracle. They have told me that they can not use
    Data Pump - I can't remember why.
The database is approximately 70 GB and the import has been running for over a day and a half on
very modern hardware. They believe there is some problem with the I/O because not a lot of disk
activity is happening. However, the disk subsystem looks fine - especially the device they are trying to
    write to.
What concerns me is that the 'imp' process itself is pegging one core of one CPU at 100%. I run the
Linux utility called 'ltrace', which shows all library calls the process is making. When running 'ltrace' on
the 'imp' process, I see a continuous stream of these calls:
    OCIDescriptorAlloc(0xe3b1890, 0x2ae2f11e3e18, 68, 0, 0) = 0
It appears this is some sort of Oracle library call. About 30-40 of these run per second. It's been doing
this for at least several hours, if not the whole time. The only argument that keeps getting incremented
is the second one. It doesn't appear that the 'imp' process is making any other calls.
Here is how the process was invoked by our consultants:
    oracle 15666 1 99 Feb09 pts/5 2-00:15:07 imp full=y buffer=152488800 ignore=y commit=y file=/stage/export/autht/autht_daily.exp log=/stage/export/autht/autht_imp_1.log resumable=y resumable_timeout=28800 STATISTICS=none
Can someone please tell me some steps I can take as a Linux admin, or steps our Oracle consultants
should take, to troubleshoot the problem? The root problem is, according to them, "A 70 GB database
should not take 1.5 days (and counting) to import."
If this is not the correct forum, please let me know what is. Thanks!

Sorry - I forgot to mention the log file.
It has not been written to in several hours, but when it was being updated, it showed mostly these types of entries:
    . . importing table "ICMUT01088001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01089001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01090001" 0 rows imported

    . . importing table "ICMUT01098001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01099001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01100001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01101001" 0 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01102001" 0 rows imported

    . . importing table "ICMUT01107001" 12 rows imported
    . . importing table "ICMUT01108001" 0 rows imported
There were a few tables imported with 2-3 million rows, but other than that, this is a majority of output in the log file.

  • Auto Import bug still there

The Import pane in Aperture 3 will open automatically every time the system sees a volume that could have pictures on it. This should only be a controlled option as I do not want this pane open every time I connect an iPhone, jiggle the cable on my scanner, use my multifunction printer or mount any other cards or devices. The pane also scans the new device to try to make previews of its content and it takes a while to get rid of it. I was expecting version 3.1 to address this very Microsoftish behaviour ("the assistant WILL do it for you!") but was disappointed again. I prefer to import my images on my own terms and this window popping up when I am working on an image and trying to concentrate is really annoying. Is there a way to hack Aperture to actually get rid of the whole functionality since Apple will not provide me with a simple "off" checkbox?

    CorkyO2 wrote:
I would check Image Capture settings as well.
With your iPhone connected, launch Image Capture and select the iPhone in the left pane and then set the preferences to 'No application' (or similar).
I had the same issue some time ago and found that even though Aperture was set to 'No Application' under 'When a camera is connected' settings, it would still launch when connecting my iPhone if images were on it.
    Hope this helps.
I'll try that, but as robogobo said, aren't the connection settings in Image Capture, iPhoto, and Aperture supposed to mirror each other? i.e., change the setting in one and it changes in all of them?
Thinking about this further, I've remembered what the really serious issue with this is. I have iTunes set to automatically start and synch whenever I connect my iPhone or iPad, but if Aperture is already running then the Import pane opens resulting in Aperture and iTunes fighting over the device. The result is that iTunes starts syncing, then Aperture tries to grab the device, iTunes loses control and throws up an error, the iPhone/iPad beeps repeatedly, and the whole proces continues, seemingly +ad infinitum+ until I quit one of the apps.
While a clash such as this may be understandable when one or both apps are 3rd party, i.e. EOS Utility, it is totally unacceptable for two Apple apps to misbehave like this.

  • Error while Importing Webservice Model in NWDS 7.0.13

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to Create Webservice Model (deprecated) in my Webdynpro Application using NWDS 7.0.13, using a WSDL which is hosted on PI 7.1.
However while resolving this WSDL, I am getting error "Unacceptable Choise Element Found. Choise can contain only model group with min/maxOccurs = 1".
Then I downloaded the WSDL, and changed the MaxOccurs = "1". After Importing this WSDL in my Webdynpro project, another exception got raised "Trying to Resolve qualified base " , here AcordMsgSvc is targetnamespace in  XSD which is ported in PI for this Service Interface
Please help me resolving these 2 errors -
    1) min/maxOccurs > 1 not allowed in NWDS 7.0.13 webservice model?? Do I need to install any plugins?

  • Import Manager and Display Fields

I've been using SRM-MDM 3.0 for a couple of months and 1 fundamental MDM design has always bothered me and I was hoping to get some resolve on this.
The purpose of Display Field is 2 folds:
    1. Display the field in the Catalog Search UI for a lookup table: i.e. if both Supplier Name and ID are Display Fields, then in the Search UI, both fields are displayed to the end-user. If only Supplier ID was the display field, then in the UI only the ID is displayed.
    - From a usability pov, tables such as Supplier and Product Group should have the name or description fields displayed in the Search UI as the numeric values are meaningless to the end-users.
    2. Display field ALSO affect what is the key used to import data into a table.  So if Supplier ID is the display field for Supplier table, then in Import Manager, the Supplier ID values are displayed and must be mapped to the source values.
    - From an importing pov, mapping values should always be an index-like field, such as Supplier ID or Product Group ID, or ISO, and usually never the actual name or description field.
But SAP has tied the two together. So in order to display the name/description to the end-user, we must enable the name/description field as a Display Field.  But we also want to map based on the index/ID field, so we also enable the index/ID field as a Display Field.  Now in Import Manager, we have two Display Fields for a table (i.e. Supplier ID and Supplier Name for Supplier table) and I've noticed some issues with this:
    1. You import file must have BOTH values (index/ID and the name/description fields) in the source, in order to Automap.  If your source file only has 1 field, like in MECCM when extracting  ECC contract, ONLY the Supplier ID, or Category ID is extracted, Automap is not possible.  What is funny is that standard SAP extract program only extracts the ID fields, BUT the standard SAP repository has the name/description fields as the Display Field.  Automap is a must for tables like Product Group where hundreds of lines can make manual mapping a pain.
    2. I also noticed you cannot Add values to a table that has 2 Display Fields, you can only map to existing values.  The Add button is grayed out.
With all that said, when you're replication ECC Contract Data using MECCM, for tables like Supplier and Product Group, what fields should be set as Display Fields, and if there are multiple Display Fields, what special setting needs to be done in Import Manager to enable automapping?  Even standard SAP Import Map (_MDMContractDataTransmission_ProductID) throws errors when multiple fields are set as Display Fields.
I'm not familiar with the partitioning function, and I've seen PDF's about it, but don't really see how it could be helpful. I've also read someone suggesting changing the DF's before import, which I think is unacceptable, as this requires unloading/loading repositories everytime an import happens.
Thanks for reading my paragraph and any input is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Derek,
Thanks for writing your thoughts. I would like to provide some information on one of your points where in you have mentioned that :
You import file must have BOTH values (index/ID and the name/description fields) in the source, in order to Automap. If your source file only has 1 field, like in MECCM when extracting ECC contract, ONLY the Supplier ID, or Category ID is extracted, Automap is not possible.
I completely agree that if you have 2 fields in MDM repository and you are only importing only one of them, then you cannot use the Automap feature of Import Manager. So in your case, the description is not getting importing, so you cannot use Automap in that case.
I had a very similar requirement in one of my project and we went with creation of a Import Value template. We created a template with all the possible values for all the look up tables in that and mapped it once in the Map. Hence, next time, the Map was used to automatically Map the source and Destination values for all the look up tables.
SAP-MDM Automatic Import Requirement u2013 Creation of a Value Mapping Template:

  • Web Dynpro Import Web Service Model - not a valid NCName

    Hi people,
We are having a problem while importing a WSDL as an Adaptive Web Service Model in Web Dynpro (CE 7.2 SP03).
    The error is the following:
"Definition of qualified base /schema/element[5]/complexType/sequence/element[4] is not correct. The value of property is not a valid NCName."
We tried importing the same WSDL in other tools (XML Spy and SOAP UI). With these tools it could be read without errors and were able to successfully call the service.
The point is, why the import fails in Web Dynpro if the WSDL can be read in other tools ? Can we do something in WD to import the WSDL that is supposed to be "not correct" ?
Thanks in advance for your comments,
    Daniel

    Hi Pranav,
I was facing this issue sometime back and i figured out that the ABAP proxy namespace in my case had a '/' in it, because of which the internal name of the service had a '/' character too.
And this was unacceptable for the endpoint binding name in my case.
Since it is occuring for you in case of the service name (i figured it out from attribute definations/services@name), check if the proxy name have a special character like '/'.

    Vivek

  • Error when importing EPS files in Publisher 2010

Whenever I attempt to insert an EPS file (possibly other image types as well) into a Publisher document I get a prompt asking for what type of file the source is and then this error:
    "An
error occurred while importing this file."
This is running as a Citrix Published Application running on Server 2008 R2 and I've found that this does not happen outside of Citrix.  If i login directly to the server via RDP or right from the console I do not get this issue.  I've posted in
the Citrix Forums and it looks like this is something to do with MS Publisher and not being able to use the Explorer shell.
    http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=307437
Researched this error and found this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224744 (This is unacceptable since the file needs to be in EPS format to keep functionality)
There was another article but I cannot find it for the life of me at this time but it suggested that you uninstall and reinstall Office or repair Office.
I did both with no luck.
I am able to get Citrix to open up publisher with the shell by initiating this command:
    explorer.exe /root,D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSPUB.exe
With this command firing up Publisher I'm able to import EPS files with no problem.  However I cannot pass an argument to this command so double clicking documents in our Citrix portal do not open up the document but rather just opens up a blank Publisher
file.  So this isn't a good "solution."
I should not have to make this command to just be able to import images as a workaround.  Anyone run into this in their Citrix environments?  Microsoft, do you have anything that can be tweaked with Publisher to allow this to work as normal in
    a Citrix environment?

I was able to get a workaround for this. I made a .cmd and put this into it:
    if [%1]==[] explorer2.exe /root,D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSPUB.exe %1
    if [%1] NEQ [] "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSPUB.exe" %1
You will need to change your paths to your MSPub.exe and if you are using explorer.exe change that as well.  We use explorer2.exe since we've found issues with using the original explorer.exe.
Once you have that CMD file made.  Save it to your Xenapp boxes in the same location and then point your published app to that file to launch Publisher.
This worked for us but I'm not sure  if it will work for anyone else but give it a go and let me know.

  • Imported old computer via time machine into new 2012 macbook pro, but its still running ilife 09 instead of 11?

imported old computer via time machine into new 2012 macbook pro, but its still running ilife 09 instead of 11?

I am assuming you had iLife 09 on the old computer - when you moved everything over, that came along with it.
I also have older versions of iLife (on install disks) and just recently got a new 2012 Macbook Pro. I noticed that iMovie 11, iPhoto and Garageband (I think) are listed in my Mac App Store Purchases with a notation to "accept". So you might want to check MAS to see if the apps are sitting there.
Now, I have chosen not to accept them for now for two reasons: I have iLife 11 on a disk and prefer that rather than having it tied to MAS/Apple ID and as long as I have my disk version installed, I also still have iDVD which I use a lot. I'm not sure if "accepting" those three from MAS would wipe out my iLife 11 installs including iDVD (which would be unacceptable for me). So, since I already have the latest version, I've opted to ignore the "accept" and, in fact, will leave it like that - if I ever sell this machine, the buyer can then accept them if they want with their own Apple ID. So before accepting the apps (if they are listed in MAS), you might want to check to make sure that your iLife install isn't wiped out - that is, if you have iDVD and want to keep it.

  • How can I automatically re-size an imported PDF when I re-size the window?

I and using RoboHelp HTML 8 and Acrobat Pro 9.  Once I "reduce file size," I can import PDFs with no problem and they look fine when I view them.  But if I re-size the browser window, the images of the PDFs stay the same size, getting more or less blank space around them.  I really need the images to grow and shrink with the window.  Is there any way to accomplish this?
    Mary Lee

I think the keyword here is "images," and you have answered that.  In fact, that's exactly what I expected.  My problem is that I actually have what I believe are conflicting needs/wants from higher up the chain here.  I have been asked to produce a document that looks exactly like the original paper version but will work like clicking the "one page at a time" tool in Acrobat when you change the size of the window.
As you can see (and no doubt, expect) in my images, importing a PDF results in a page image which has a constant size in a browser.  Unfortunately, importing or linking a Word document results in changed appearance, which is unacceptable to others here.  If you have any suggestions for resolving my dilemma, I would be delighted.

  • Import of songs results in skipping, file corruption

Apologies in advance for the length of this post, but I want to provide very specific details...
One month ago I upgraded a WIndows XP machine to Windows 7 64-bit. All of the iTunes MP3 files were backed up on a second hard drive in the machine. After the upgrade, I reinstalled the latest version of iTunes, then attempted to import the music files into the library.
This took place without a hitch, but within days I had found that greater than 75% of the files were now corrupt. When listening to music, songs would skip, cut out for 10 seconds, or just quit playing. This would happen on iPods I had set up with these files, my iPhone, and even when playing the files on iTunes on the Win7 64b computer.
Fortunately, my entire library is also backed up on another Win XP machine in the same room, on a network. So I deleted all of the files from the Win7 computer, then imported from the WinXP machine. Mind you, all of the songs play just fine on the XP machine. When I finished importing the 4000 tracks... same problem on the Win7 machine. Corrupt tracks, skipping, cutting out, scratching, etc. It sounded like a bad LP.
Over the past month, I have found that if I delete a corrupt song file, then import that song from the XP machine, it fixes the song. So I can actually put use-able tracks on the Win7 machine. But frankly, I do not have time to import 4000 songs one song at a time.
This past weekend I stripped the library again, then tried importing around 30-40 songs at a time from the XP computer. Same problem. I don't know what the cutoff is, but it's somewhere between 1 and about 30 songs at a time.
I am terribly frustrated by this issue. I have scoured the message boards looking for any ideas as to how to have a non-corrupt library on the Win7 machine. I would like to upgrade the XP machine to Win7, but frankly, I'm scared I'm going to lose my library. Until I know I have a safely backed up set of files that will play without skips, that isn't happening.
    Any ideas? Anybody?!?!

I found a workaround for this problem...
I ended up backing up the entire iTunes folder plus all of my tracks to an external hard drive, then moving them over to the new Win 7 computer. I then had to tell the iTunes Library to find the files again, but it incorporated them without using the import process.
This worked well, no more skipping. But, an album I had recently purchased from iTunes and downloaded onto the Win 7 computer lost half the tracks. At first I was really ticked off, because in spite of backing it up EXACTLY LIKE APPLE SAYS TO, the mp3 files were corrupted. Then I realized I still had the entire album intact on my iPhone, so I was able to sync the phone with the computer and move the valid files back on to the computer. Problem solved... though only due to luck.
Apple really needs to fix this issue. I don't what the problem is with Win 7 64-bit, but it's ridiculous that importing files using Home Share corrupts them on Win7 64-bit computers. All that is happening is a file is moving from one machine to another. If iTunes has to shuffle them around and in the process destroys them, that's just ridiculously sad. Amidst all of the horror stories out there regarding iTunes, this is my first negative experience with it personally, but it is a crippling feature that the software engineers should find completely unacceptable.

  • Low Quality on Imported AVI

This is not a premiere elements issue, but I am using the software to create a project.  My problem deals with the quality of the video I took on vacation.  I inadvertently place the camera in a low resolution mode.  Although the video can be seen using Realplayer or Windows media player, the quality is only accepatble for a very small screen.  When I transport the video to my project, the quality is unacceptable.  Is there anyway I can improved the quality of the original video?
The AVI was transfered from a file on my PC, which was downloaded from a SD flash card on a Canon A650 camera in the compact mode (this was the mistake).  I was hoping to make a DVD of our trip combining video, JPEGs, and music.  Out of the twenty some video clips I took on the Canon, only the first two are usable.  Somehow I change the quality of video clip and the lower qulality was not noted until I returned home and started looking at the video on my PC.

Hunt, I really am having a hard time trying to understand your
instructions.  I downloaded the premiere editor to see if that would help  with the
terminology, but it didn't, at least not to the extend I need.  I  guess I just
will not use the video.  I still have 300 JPEGs to use so that  should give
me enough to work with for my project.  Thanks for your  help.  You need to
spend your time and expertise on people that have a  better understanding
than me.  Thanks again and have a Merry  Christmas.

    Russ,
Sorry for getting ahead of you.
What I  am suggesting is that you set up your PrE editing screen (the GUI -
Graphic  User Interface) with one of these "bad" Clips on the Timeline.
Place the CTI  (Current Time Indicator w/ the Edit Line) over that Clip, so
that it will show  in the Program Monitor. You might want to click-drag on the
various Panels,  and also zoom in on your Timeline a bit, so that the
important parts are large  enough to see. Once you have this set up, then do a
    screen-cap of that  GUI.
This can differ a bit, depending on one's computer, their  image editing
programs, and even their keyboard, but here are the general  instructions:
1.) when all is set up in PrE, showing things  clearly, one would Copy that
image from the computer's monitor to the  Clipboard. On my laptop, this is
done by pressing Ctrl+PrtSC (Print Screen)  key. On other keyboards, the
CTRL modifier key is not necessary. Also, the  exact name of the key for "Print
Screen" might be slightly different. Mine is  "PrtSc," but yours could be
something like "PrntScr." This takes a snapshot of  what is displayed on your
    computer's monitor.
2.) I use Photoshop  (PS) as my image editing software, but PSElements is
about the same. If one  has another image editing program, they might need to
read up on how to do  this next step. MS Paint, plus others, should be able
to do similar, though  more steps, or fewer steps, might be required.
In PS, I do  File>New Image (Ctrl+N) and PS will offer to create this New
Image sized to  the image in the system's Clipboard, which I accept. This New
Image opens, and  all I have to do is hit Ctrl+V (Paste) to get my
screen-cap from the Clipboard  and into my New Image as a New Layer. Then, I will
Crop, if necessary,  annotate the image to point out aspects that I want
people to look at, then  will do a Save, choosing .PSD to maintain any Layers.
Then, I choose Flatten  to collapse the Layers, and do a Save_As, choosing
    JPEG @ a quality setting of  8-9.
3.) back in the forum editing screen, I look to the Toolbar  at the top of
the page. In the lower-middle, there is a little "camera" icon.  That allows
me to attach the JPEG image into the body of my  Reply.
Here's an example of my NLE setup, pretty much as I am  suggesting:

  • Controlling the changing of fonts during iPad import

Keynote for Mac has a font called Chaulkboard which is the default font in the Blackboard template.  Unfortunately in converts to a font called Chaulkduster on the iPad which is wholly unacceptable.  However, the iPad version of Keynote does offer a very acceptable font called Chaulkboard SE.  How do I get it to select Chaulkboard SE instead of Chaulkduster during import or at least change all the fonts in a presentation at once without having to do it one slide at a time?

Believe it or not, looks similar to the problem in the post http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=580113&tstart=0
    More unbelievable is the huge security hole in your network !String adminPassword = "";
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,"[email protected]");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,adminPassword);An administrator with a blank password !
The ldap standard (rfc 2251) defines an anonymous user as a user with a null passsword. By default, Active Directory does not allow anonymous users to perform searches against the directory, let alone reset a user's password.

  • Import to iPhoto from external hard drive 'importing photos' remains on

    Hi,
When I import to library (from the file list) from my external hard drive the photos are added to my library. However the 'importing photos' from the source pane remains on with the dial rotating! This stays on unless I 'force quit' iPhoto.
After using force quit the images are successfully shown in the library.
When I attach a camera and import this problem doesn't happen.
    Thanks.

Before we define this as an unacceptable bug, how come everyone else doesn't have the issue?
One key difference between png and jpeg is metadata - jpeg's have it and png's don't. What's the source of these jpegs? What colour profile have they? What Exif data is travelling with them? Have they been processed in Adobe's Lightroom, for instance? Finally, have you tried opening one of them in Preview, saving it and then trying to import it?
