Import video error

Import video error: When importing a FLV video file created in Adobe Connect I get the following error: "Video encountered an internal error". I am using Captivate version 6.0.1.240 and the FLV was made in Adobe Connect Enrterprise version 8.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I encoded a different video file as a flv in Adobe Media Encoder and it worked. Video and audio playback was perfect in both the original project and a new "Blank" project.
I then recorded a new flv in Adobe Connect and got the same  "Video encountered an internal error" when trying to insert it as a Event Video. Then I encoded it using the Adobe Media Encoder. With this new flv I got no error when I loaded it but there was no audio during playback.
Now I have to figure out why there is no audio from the flv created in Adobe Connect.
You would think it would be seamless.
Could it be a metadata issue with the video created in Adobe Connect?

  • Importing video error: Adobe doesn't import video

I would like to import video into Premiere from my Flash Memory camcorder's hard drive to my computer's hard drive. My camcorder records .mpg files, and when I try to import mpg files into Premiere, the program says the file is not supported. I also tried importing wmv files and still image files from my computer's hard disk into Premiere, and the program does not recognize these (the source window in Premiere is empty). Is there a mistake I am making? Does the program recognize mpg files? If so, how do I import video files and use them in the program?

  • CS3 Flash Import Video Error

I am finally back to working in Web Design and was simply trying to import a video clip to my stage.
All works until the final... load onto the Stage and I get this message.
    Adobe CS3
Error initializing Java Runtime Environment. You may need to reinstall Flash.
Any advice... I will go and find my original discs to reload but me thinks it is not going to solve the problem.

Are you trying to import an actual video file into the main timeline? can you describe in detail your steps...
You do know that that method is highly discouraged, right? It works much better to have an external video file and use the FLVPlayback component or NetStream to play the video.

  • Importing Video Error

I'm currently using the 32-bit trial version of Photoshop CC, previously used to GIMP to create gifs and am looking for something a little better for what I need. But I can't even import the video. When I try I get the error "could not complete the video from frames to layers command because the file could not be opened". I've tried several different files, all under 15 seconds in length and from MP4 and AVI files. How do I fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

Ok rules that out. Try resetting the preferences next. Hold down the the modifier keys when starting Photoshop.

I've tried to import video content from my 5d mark II and it will not import video.

If it works in a different user acoutn, and you don't want to change accounts, the question really becomes, what is different between the two accounts. The only two differences, as far as Adobe and Lightroom are concerned, are the application preferences and the catalog.
The preference files store the settings for the program. These files are created on first launch and are updated each  time you close the application with the current state of the settings. Each user account has their own copy of these files. If you delete these files, then on next launch a new default set of files are created. When you create a new user account and lauch Lightroom, a new default set of these files is created for this account. If you delete these files on your main account, then on the next launch of Lightroom, a new set will be created. So as far as these files are concerned, Lightroom will be the same on both user accounts.
The catalog stores information of the images you work with in Lightroom. Each user account also gets it's own catalog, which is created on first launch as well. If you create a new catalog on your main account, then this is another way you can force Lightroom to be the same on both accounts.
If making the preferences and the catalog the same on both accounts does not fix the behavior, this mean that the cause of the problem is coming from outside of Lightroom itself. The two main categories of where things could be going wrong from this point is third-party applications and permissions.
Third-party applications, just like Lightroom itself, can have settings that are unique, causing them to behave differently between different user accounts. These different behaviors can mean that on one account they behave in such a way as to interfere with another application like Lightroom. We don't know of any program in particular that could be causing this behavior, nor what setting within such an application would be the root cause. In cases like these it is simply best to shut everything off and test Lightroom in a clean enviorment (similar to testing Lightroom in a new user account).
Every file and folder on your computer has a set of permissions for what individual users and groups of users (and the applications being run by those users) are allowed to do, such as reading, writting, or deleting. It is possible that there is a difference between the permissions for your regular user account and the new user account (which gets default settings for all files and folders) that restricts Lightroom's ability to use/read files.

iphoto 9.5.1 will not import videos with .mpg extension from my pictures folder and keep getting a OSStatus error-54. Is there a way I can import such videos to the iphone library? Pls help.

This is what that error means:
    -54
    permErr
Software lock on file; Not a subscriber [permissions error on file open]
Download and launch  BatChmod.  Put the videos into a subfolder and drag that folder containing the video files into the Batchmod window.  Make sure you are the owner and have R,W, X access as well as the group.  Everyone will have R only.
Check the Change ownership and privileges, Unlock and Apply to enclosed boxes and then click on the Apply button.  When done try importing the files again.

  • "Red Error" when importing video files

Hello, I tried importing video files (.MOV) into Final Cut Pro X but this "red file error" just comes out and I don't know what to do.  I even tried importing my video clip from my iSight camera but it just shows that red error. I feel like every video file imported gets "redded". I don't know how to solve this problem. Thank you all!
    - MT
    P.S. Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3

You have "Proxy media" selected under Preferences->Playback, but you are not creating proxy media for your clips on import. That's why you get the red clips.
This is easy to solve. Either:
    1) Create the proxy media for your clips, by control-clicking, and choosing "Transcode Media..." and checking the box for proxy media;
    or
    2) Choose "Original/Optimized media" in Preferences->Playback.
Proxy media uses less disk space and is easier to handle than either the original or optimized media, but is of lower quality; but you can do all the editing in proxy, and then just before you are done, switch again to original/optimized. This way you get lower overhead when editing, and still get the better quality result.
This may be even more relevant for older, less powerful macs, or when you need to use an internal drive, or a slow usb drive with FCP X. If you have a fast mac and a fast drive, you can work away without transcoding, for the most part (multicam clips and other heavier edits may still warrant a transcode).

When trying to import videos off of a CD I continually get error code -36 on one of the videos. How can I fix this?

Contact Apple and request a 10.4 or possibly a 10.5 distribution disk for this system, if you've not obtained that DVD disk from the seller.
Boot and use that distribution disk to wipe the hard disk via Disk Utility, and to then reinstall OS X.
Best to start with a fresh installation of OS X, as that'll provide the default environment and not something that's been customized and extended by the previous owner.
The last OS X version that was supported for most PowerMac G5 systems was 10.5.8, and that would be preferable — if your Mac supports that.
If you're not sure which Mac you have, then use the  > About This Mac from the menu and request more information on the system.  You're looking for a model number listed there, and that'd be something like PowerMac7,3 or PowerMac11,2 for a ~2005-vintage PowerMac system.  Whatever model number you have can then be used to determine the general specs for the configuration, and what the last version of OS X that was supported for the system.

  • Error Importing Video

I am encountering an error message "Could not create the video file. Please check for sufficient disk space/privileges" when attempting to import video under the Presenter tab. When I try to use the Insert tab to insert movie, it appears to insert but cannot be previewed or viewed when published. I am using a Canon FS200 which has only 16:9 format.

It appears that Presenter cannot use MPG files - converting to AVI worked.

  • Upgrade to Lion broke iMovie 08 - iSight Camera - No camera connected - To import video, please connect a camera - error message

I recently upgraded to OSX Lion.  My MackBoo Pro is fully patched and updated.  I can launch iMovie 08 but when i try to record or import video from camera it get the error message. No Camera Connected - To import video, please connect a camera.
All my other applications work fine with iSight including iChat, Skype, PhotoBooth.  So why would a specific upgrade to Lion break iMovie 08?
I looked at the other posts on this topic and no one has a really solid explination or fix.

That is odd.  When logged into Discussions, the Profile tab on my personal Apple Support Communities > People page includes the following screen-shot from immediately below the big avatar picture:
Clicking on the "Edit" link opens the dialog window shown in this screen-shot:

lonestarry wrote: ...  Looks like I will have to dig out my ... iLife 08 ...  I dont remember ever having an iLife disc, just the OSX disc.
If you want to fix your problem, it is time to reinstall and updated to the most current iMovie '08 version.
If you did not buy iLife '08 separately, perhaps it was included in the Software Applications disk(s) that came with your Mac.
lonestarry wrote: ... a colleague ... has the exact same issue...
Has your colleague reinstalled and updated iLife after upgrading to Lion?
I am using iMovie '11 (version 9.0.4), so I cannot test your specific version.  iMovie 9.0.4 is properly working for me after I restarted it one time.
However, depending on individual system configurations, Lion compatibility may be version dependent.  For example, this forum post contains reports of iLife '08 (and even older) working with Lion.  Moreover, as shown in this screen-shot from the roaringapps listing, it is the newer versions that may have problems:
Your version 7.1.4 should work with no trouble if all your Apple software is up to date.

  • Error Importing Video Frames to Layers in Photoshop CC

I'm trying to import video frames to layers in Photoshop CC, the most recent edition. I'm using a Mac OS X Maverick version 10.9.2.
The video I'm working with is a .mov file with the following codecs: Timecode, Linear PCM, CEA 708, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ).
When I import frames to layers, the window is black. *Note: The audio works here, picture does not appear.
When I select OK, the layers are transparent.
This issue is specific to Photoshop CC. I tested the same .mov file with the same codecs in the most recent edition of Photoshop CS6, and import video frames to layers worked successfully.
I also tested the same .mov file using another user's computer and their edition of Photoshop CC, and experienced the same issue - black screen, transparent frames.
This leads me to believe it is an issue specific to the Photoshop CC software.
Is there a fix for this, or do you have recommendations on ways to convert the .mov file so it's viewable in Photoshop CC?
    Thank you for your help.

  • Odd problems while trying to Import video to layers and "a program error"

    Hi there,
I'm having problems importing video (tried .avi and .mp4) to layers on my Photoshop CS5, using laptop with Windows 8.
First of all, I cannot see the buttons "pause/play" and so I also cannot choose the part I'd like to import to layers. It shows as a black row as seen below:
And this is the only video (.mp4) I can see the "review" video, also can blindly press the buttons where the black row is, which is basically impossible to get anything done.
With my .avi videos (which work perfectly with my friend) it shows absolutely nothing:
I tried to go with pressing OK anyway, and this is what I saw next:
I had installed http://support.apple.com/kb/DL762 QuickTime 7.6 for Windows, so it shouldn't be the issue?
I restarted my computer and my Photoshop and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Sorry, must double post now! I really need the help. I've tried to find it myself around here, found a thread with someone having the exact same problem, but so far no good
