Import video from youtube into Itunes

Hi there,
is there a way to import videos from youtube and have them on itunes so I can play them via ATV2 or on my Iphone4?
I'm trying with xvideosevicethief, i can get the videos on the itunes but then I can't get them visible in the ATV2 or the iphone when going to the music videos area. I can just see the ones I have purchased.
can any one help?
thanks in advance

What kind of file type did you get (what extension) - I guess those resulting files need further conversion to a file format that can be handled by iTunes.

  • I imported videos from photo into iMovie when I set up iMovie (obvious mistake) and now iMovie doesn't work properly, nor can I move specific videos into a folder where I want them. How do I fix this?

I imported videos from photo into iMovie when I set up iMovie (obvious mistake) and now iMovie doesn't work properly, nor can I move specific videos into a folder where I want them. How do I fix this? I even tried deleting iMovie, bought a new copy and installed it, but the folder "iPhoto Videos" is still there and I can't get new clips loaded to iMovie, especially where I want them. Please help.

The iPhoto Videos do occasionally have problems. I've seen a lot of people write messages to this Discussion group describing similar problems. The only thing that seems to get around this problem is to pull the video clips out of iPhoto then import them directly into iMovie. Once the troubles with iPhoto Videos starts, I haven't yet seen anyone write back with something that they did to fix it.
The most difficult part of doing this is the movies in iPhoto might be a little difficult to track down. But you can create a smart alum that does that for you. Go to iPhoto > File Menu > New Smart Album:
Set the first pulldown menu to keyword, second to contains, then in the last box type Movie with a capital 'M'. Then click OK. This smart album more or less does as search of the whole iPhoto Library and only displays items that match your search tearm of "Movie" exactly. In that smart album then you can find the original Movies you want to move out of iPhoto and into iMovie, <CTRL> click on the Movie clip, then choose Reveal in Finder. That will jump you out of iPhoto temporarily and into the iPhoto Library folder. From there you can move that movie file to the desktop. Move all the clips you want, once they're all collected up go to iMovie and go to the File Menu > Import Files. Then point it to the desktop where you moved your video clips.
This will put all those videos into an Event folder in iMovie and bypass iPhoto Videos altogether.

Well, Keynote Compatible Video Formats are:

  • Import Video From Camtasia into Captivate5

I have some Camtasia 7.1 video (which includes audio) that I'd like to import into Captivate 5, so that I can create an intro slide with jump points into various places in that existing video. I tried to import the FLV as an Animation onto a slide, and while that seems to work, and allows me to add overlays such as a highlight box, it doesn't get me the jump/entry points from the intro slide, as the animation is all on one slide.
I created some blank slides in a Captivate5 project and imported the Camtasia 7.1 FLV as a Slide Video onto the first blank slide. Then I used the Edit Video Timing interface to try to distribute that video across a couple of other slides. I thought this would get me the jump/entry points I need into the video from the intro slide. When I click the insert button above the timeline in the Edit Video Timing interface, I see a little dialog message that says "Cannot insert slide.Assign some empty space in the end for new slide". That appears to be an error message as I don't get the expected behaviour when I select OK. Is it an error?
Does it sound like I'm approaching this the right way in terms of getting the existing Camtasian 7.1 FLV video into Captivate5 and creating some extra slides to allow jump/entry points into the video material?
Is the message I'm seeing a known issue with Slide Video import?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello and welcome to the Captivate forum,
I do see that your question is not answered yet, which could be due to the fact that other Captivate-users do not understand well what you want, which is the case for me. This could be simply a question of terminology, I'm perfectly aware of that since English is not my native tongue.
You do have a long FLV, created in Camtasia, and you want to jump to different points in that video? I do not know if that is possible, but since you are using slide video and spreading the video over different slides you can jump to the slides on which the video clips sit. Another workflow would be that you created the clips in Camtasia and inserted each of them on a different slide.
Your workflow seems to be OK: insert the video on the first slide, use the Edit Video timing to split it over different slides. But the 'entry point' that you inserted in another app will not be visible, so you will have to do the timing in Captivate. I would have it distributed immedately over the available slides, and adjust the timing afterwards, but your workflow was perhaps to insert it with extending the duration of the first slide to the duration of the video? To redestribute in the Edit Video dialog box:
play the video until the playhead gets to the point where you want to start the second clip on a second slide
decrement the duration of the first slide by dragging the slide marker (is at the end) to the position of the playhead (highlighted in green)
use the small icon (yellow highlightà to insert the next slide into the video; you can ignore the message you mentioned
restart the process by playing until the next point to insert the third slide into the video.
if there is no new slide left, you will get an error message "Cannot insert slide" that you cannot ignore
When you close the dialog box you will see in the Filmstrip that the video is distributed. If you want to adjust the dimensions of the video frame this is possible with the Position&Size accordion in the Properties panel of the video, but do not forget to apply this change with the small curved arrow in the top (Apply to all) of that accordion.
The last slide will always be extended so that the total video can be viewed.
If this is not the answer you are looking for, pleas try to explain more in detail.

  • Unable to import video from camcorder into iMovie HD

I am using a Mac mini PowerPC G4 (1.5). I recently bought a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD 106E camcorder that uses DVD discs. The camcorder has no Firewire (iLink) output so I have inserted the DVD into my external DVD writer/player. I can play the footage via the Mac Mini's DVD player software but I cannot import the video clips into iMovie HD.
The icons on the DVD appear to be PC files and are not compatible. Does anyone know how I can take off the footage I have shot and get it into iMovie HD, please?
My secondary thought is that maybe I need to be able to convert the footage clips into Quicktime files, maybe, but I don't know how to go about this, if, indeed, that is the solution.
    Please, please help
    regards, Huguenot

Your camcorder is incompatible with iMovie 5, which is designed to use DV streams from tape, imported via firewire.
If your camcorder uses DVD disks it likely produces files in mpeg2 format, which is the standard, compressed, final delivery format of a DVD and is not intended for further editing, and cannot be imported into iMovie 5.
I am a bit puzzled as to why you chose that camcorder!
Ideally you should take it back and exchange it for a camcorder that records onto mini DV tape and which has a firewire output.
As it is, firstly you cannot import the footage due to lack of firewire. Secondly, in order to use iMovie at all you will have to convert the mpeg2 files into a DV files which is what iMovie uses.
    For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
which is free, but you must also have the Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
But any way you do it, there will be penalty in terms of quality.

  • Importing photos from iPhoto into iTunes

    Hey all,
Here is what I did step by step:
    1) Opened iTunes
    2) Selected an album & clicked command + i
    3) Clicked the blank artwork box to import some album artwork
    4) A box opened up, showing the iChat Icons folder and the Photo Booth folder
At this point, I don't quite know what I did, but I quit the application, re-opened it, and tried it again. But when I did it the second time, a third folder appeared--the iPhoto Library folder. However, it is grayed out and I can't access it to import any album artwork.
Does anybody know why this happened? Why did that folder appear the second time I opened it, and why is it grayed out? Is this normal?
I'm new to macs, so any and all help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks for your responses. Just wanted to post an update in case anybody else has this "problem." For starters, it's not really a problem. Chris, you are right--it is supposed to be that way. I called up Apple tech support and the technician explained that if it were not grayed out, iTunes would import the entire library, although fwiw, he didn't sound too sure. At any rate, bottom line is that that is perfectly normal.

  • IMovie not importing videos from iPhoto

I am trying to import videos from iPhoto into iMovie. It is not bringing in ( i.e. creating thumbnails for) anything after Dec 2010. The videos all show up in iPhoto and they were shot with an iPhone. Is there a date range set somewhere that I need to change. I can not even get them if I specifically try and import them one at a time through File-Import-Movies. When I try this method it lets me select the videos, but they still don't show up in my video thumbnails. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Other info:
    OSX 10.8.3 on a 2012 iMac
    iMovie 11 9.0.8

I open up iMovie and it then imports movies from iPhoto. The problem is it is missing several videos. When I select import video it imports those missing files, so I know it's not a file format issue... Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on how to get ALL my videos into iMovie?
iPhoto will import any file that can be played in the QT Player (i.e., that is "playback" compatible). On the other hand, iMovie '08 will only import files that it can edit -- i.e. that are "edit" compatible. (Would you really want to waste your time importing files only to find that you can't do anything with them once they are "in" the application?) Your solution is to convert non-edit compatible files to compression formats that are editable -- primarily DV, AIC, M-JPEG, Photo-JPEG, MPEG-4, or H.264. You should also note that both audio and video content must be edit compatible. For instance, many AVI files contain M-JPEG video which can be edited along with ADPCM audio which cannot be edited and so such files will not import.

I have also tried from the iphoto side, to export the videos or share them to final cut.  I have had no luck.
I have tried to drag and drop indidual video clips from iphoto to fcp, and the programs simply do not respond to each other
I can see in the OLDER version of final cut pro x, where it has IMPORT FILES as an option, it was possible.  I see this on forums and youtube videos of the older versions.
However, the newer version that i have, does not have IMPORT 'FILES' as an option, it is simply all lumped together as IMPORT 'MEDIA'
    Thank You for the Help

at the end, you say "import preferences", which program are you describing?
So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...
    vs
using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?

    Hi Brady,
I have a new Everio HD that I have been fooling with all day. Finally got a clip into iMovie 6 ....but only once and I'm still figuring this out too.....if you are not using a HD camera this may or may not work for you.
The Everio Quicktime extension must be installed. (Download and install the patch if you upgrade to Leopard).
Is your camera an HD? If so you need to capture the clip in 1440 CDR not FHD (FullHighDef).
Launch iMovie 6. Create a new movie in Video format HDV 1080i . then plug in your camera via firewire.
Put the camera in playback mode (Play/REC), press the Function, select Dubbing Playback (bottom of the menu). You should get a menu with a start button now. Switch to iMovie 6 and select "Import". This should start the clip playing from the camera....you may have to hit the Start on the camera.
This should get your clips into i Movie.
We may be ably to create playlists and get them in that way too but I have not had any luck with the JVC instructions to do this. There are video tutorials on the JVC website too but again they have not worked for me.
There is also a way to get and work the FHD files but that is a USB file transfer followed by a file conversion. I'll tackle that a little later...
    Good luck,
    Roger

  • Importing Video From a Sony HVR-Z5E into Adobe Premiere CS5

    Hi,
I am importing video from the Sony HVR-Z5E straight into Premiere using the capture option off the file menu but the colour looks completely different to what it looks like on the camera. Why should this be? When I preview the video in the capture window the video looks fine. its just after I have captured it.
    OS: Windows 7 x64
    RAM: 3 GB
    Please HELP??!!??
    Many Thanks

Either your camera or your monitor is not properly calibrated. Lucky for you, capturing is just a transfer of digital data without any modification at all, just like copying files from A to B. They do not change in the copy process. So either it is in the eye of the beholder or you monitor is not properly calibrated or you are just imagining things.
Wish you luck with editing HDV on such a system.
