Import video larger than project

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a good way to import a 2880x1920 mov in a 1920x1080 project.
When i import the .mov in the project, the file become 1920x1080 ( 100% scale) and i don't i want that because i want to be abble to zoom inside the 2880x1920 file.
Thanks

Set the spatial conform in the video inspector to none.

  • Compressor setting so it won't output a video larger than source?

    Hello.
    I am sending a whole library of videos (most Apple ProRes, but varrying video dimensions based on the project) through Compressor 4 and I'm having an issue where, for some of the videos (with smaller video dimensions), the settings I'm choosing result in the transcoded videos being larger (in terms of dimensions) than the source (ie. if the source is 720p, the resulting video is 1080p).
    I am using the following two settings:
    - HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)
    - HD 1080p for Video Sharing
    Example 1 - I fed a 640 x 360 (Apple ProRes) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)" preset. The resulting transcoded video was larger than 640 x 360 (I can't remember the actual size anymore, sorry). There is no option available, that I can see, to modify the preset to NOT create a file larger than the source?
    Example 2 - I fed a 720p (Apple Animation) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD 1080p for Video Sharing" preset. The resulting transcoded video was 1080p. I though because the preset is marked "Up to 1920 x 1080" it wouldn't go beyond 1080p (ie. scale down anything larger to 1080p), but also thought that it would maintain the source dimensions and not enlarge a 720p source to 1080p?
    Maybe this is how Compressor is supposed to work (ie. making resulting videos larger than source), but I'm hoping there's a way to modify the presets to not do this "ie. an option to not create a video with dimensions larger than the source)? Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

    Apple devices have a standard frame size they encode to, so yes, this is how it works.

  • PS Touch needs a warning message when importing files larger than 2048x2048 max resolution

    I opened 6500x5000 px files into PS Touch in iPad for some minor retouching. PS Touch - without notification - reduced the images to fit within 2048 x 2048 px. It happily let me open these files, work on them and save and never let me know it was reducing the file size, rendering all the work I did utterly useless since 2048x2048 is far too small for print res for these files.
    PS Touch needs a notification or warning when importing files larger than the app's max resolution. Resizing files without notification is just asinine.

  • Having problems veiwing h264 videos larger than 2 gb, they refuse to play, in either windows or mac verison of FF. less than 2 gb they play fine.

    I work for a video company encoding videos, The only problem we have is Firefox not playing videos encoded as H 264 (1080) larger than 2 gb, as they won't play. I Tried both current version 9.0.1 in mac and windows and no change. In IE, Chrome, the video plays fine. Is there a file limitation in Firefox? as I read someplace else that FF also has problems uploading 2 gb files, don't know of that's related. Any help would be appreciated.

    ok, I'm corrected that HTML 5 support for h264 is not present in FF at the moment. SO if the Video hand-off to flash to play the video in Firefox would be the cause of the File size limitations, then it's Adobe's issue then, correct?

  • Importing Video into Flash Project ?

    Hi, I want to ask you about how can I import video into my Flash Project and make it possible to view ?
    I tried to choose embed FLV but the sound quality is quite shity and the video quality too. Furthermore, It expands the timeline which is too long because my video is quite long too. It said that it can be at least 16000 Frames to run.
    Now I choose Import -> Import Video -> Load External ..... and then I put it on one scene. The thing is that when I test it, it looks like I have to expands the timeline too so that I can play the videos fully. And It will slow down the computer so much when I want to export. Is there any way I can play the video only by just creating one keyframe ?
    Please help me.

    i choose Load -> External and it gives me some FLVPlayback in the library too ... But how I can make it relate to the previous scene and it can play the whole video and then back to the first scene...
    First scene is where people can choose some option that I made of ...
    A is where I link to the scene 3 of my project
    B comes to Scene 4
    C comes to Scene 5
    What I'm stucking right now is how can I made the C choice for people to choose and they can see the videos. I tried to drag the FLVPlayback to the scene 6 and it shows some result. But I think if I want to watch the whole video I need to expand the timeline as much as possible and I really don't want that. Is there any actionscript code or some tips that I can make it possible? Sorry because I'm a newbie so I don't understand your words. Can you explain it more ?

  • Why does dragging an imported video into a project reduce the file size by half?

    I used a Canon Vixia HV40 to import 1 hour of HD video filmed using 24F and cina mode.  My import and project properties were as follows:widescreen (16x9, 24F, cinema, import size = full, original size.
    The specifications for the imported file are as follows/:
    Size: 22.12GB
    Dimensons: 1920 x 1080
    Codec: Apple Intermediate Codec, Linear PCM
    Color Profile: HD(1-1-1)
    Audio Channels: 2
    Total Bit Rate: 47,113
    When I drag the imported file into a new project, the resulting .mov file has the following specifications:
    Size: 9.67GB (approx half the size)
    Dimensions 1920 x 1080 (same)
    Codec: H.264, AAC (different)
    Color Profile: HS(1-1-1) (same)
    Audio Channels: 2 (same)
    Total Bit Rate: 20,607 (approx half)
    What causes the file size reduction and bit rate reduction?  Is it a result of the different codec?  Is there any corresponding loss of video quality that results from the conversion?
    Thanks for your answers in advance.

    Thanks a lot for your quick and detailed response!
    Maximum image quality and file size are not the same thing, for a start.
    Yes, but with JPG's they tend to be correlated, aren't they?
    When you view a photo in iPhoto it's a composite of the original and the decisions recorded, and applied live as you view.
    Oh, I always thought iPhoto makes a copy of the orginial and modfies that ...
    If you want to use that photo for something then you have to export it. This make a new file with your photo in it. When you export you have a lot of options - including ones that will make the filesize bigger than the original.  This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
    has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
    Ah, that is cool. That solves my problem.
    If you use drag and drop from the iPhoto Window that's a form of exporting too -but you have no options there. You get the iPhoto Preview. That's a 'handy-good-enough-for-most-things version of the shot. If you want  more options use the export command.
    That's what I tripped over. (I used the email feature from within iPhoto for a quick sharing ...)
    Thanks, G.

  • Image button imports much larger than actual size

    I have a lot of custom image buttons in my Captivate project. I am now trying to scale them down in size, to reduce overall file size of my project. Some of my custom png images show up as 100 px in Photoshop, then when I import them into Captivate, they stay the same. However others, that show as 100px in photoshop, are importing in at 400px! Any ideas why this would happen. The original set was 400px. But I have overwritten the files with smaller ones in the gallery and re-inserted them - but still no luck.  Thanks.

    Hi
    i am posting this again due to lack of response. Its urgent. so i will really be thankful to anyone who can help.
    My application prints out cd labels. As i checked the width of a cd label is 12.5 cm which is 472 pixels. Now when i set component size to 472 pixel and print just that component, the out put seems to be much larger. like it covers almost 90% width of a A4 page. My code is like this:
    I want to print LabelContainer
    private function print():void
         printjob = null;
         printjob = new FlexPrintJob();
         LabelContainer.printDataGrid.selectedIndex = -1;
         try{
              if(printjob.start()){
                   datamodel.showTitles = false;
                   printjob.addObject(LabelContainer,FlexPrintJobScaleType.NONE);
                   printjob.send();
                   datamodel.showTitles = true;
         }catch(e:Error){
              Alert.show(e.message);
    can some one please help me. I really dont understand this.

  • Trying to import video to iDVD project......help

    I was given a disk to add the videos on it into my idvd project. Below are a copy of the file types. I am not able to copy it or get it to the idvd project. Are these files compatible, readable or possible to incorporate? This is for a team presentation on Saturday and the videos are really needed. help.... thank you, donna
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS010.BUP
    VTS010.IFO
    VTS011.VOB
    VIDEO_TS.BUP

    Those are the files of a completed DVD.
    You need to convert the VOB files back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
    which is free, but you must also have the Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    which is a mere $20.
    Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
    Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

  • Why is the length of my FCP imported video shorter than the original QuickTime version?

    When I open my .mov file in QuickTime, it is 15:33. However, when I import it into FinalCut, it is only 14:09. Is this a frame rate issue? How do I fix it? Thanks for any help...sorry if this is a silly question.

    What is the format of this Quicktime file? FCP doesn't just work with any old QT file. It must be in an FCP editing codec, like ProRes or DV/NTSC. Dropping in H.264 or other highly compressed codec can lead to all sorts of issues.  If it isn't ProRes, convert to ProRes first.

  • Is it possible to import images larger than 32,768 pixels in a 64-bit version of Photoshop (CS4 or later)?

    I deal with grayscale images that are 33,000x33,000 pixels. Right now I am limited by the amount of RAM I can allocate in CS3 which is 32bit. I would like to upgrade to a 64bit version of Photoshop but still be able to import my images.

  • I cannot log and transfer videos larger than 4 gb

    I have final cut express 4.0.1, Macbook pro intel core duo 2 ghz, 2 gb ram, Canon HF100.
    I saved my raw video onto a external drive, which is also my scratch disk. I have been able to log and transfer short videos fine. When I try to do this for longer videos, I get an exclamation point on my long and transfer window and my clip transfer is in idle.
    I have noticed that when the long videos (over 5 min) are transferring, their sizes get bigger but then max out at 4 GB.
    My audio is set to plain and I have the latest OS. I also changed my recording settings to match my playback settings = RT safe, video quality dynamic, frame rate dynamic.
    Please help.

    How is the external formatted?
    It should be Mac OS Extended.
    Most drives are pre-formatted to suit Windows FAT32, file sizes are restricted if so.

  • Can you import Video Frames to Layers if your video is larger than 1280x720?

    I can import a video that is 1280x720 or smaller to layers, but can't import one larger than that or Photoshop freezes up. and then has to be force quit.  when i reopen it after force quiting, it immediately crashes and then when i reopen it and try to import any video in any way it gives me the error message "Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available."

  • Easiest way to transfer files larger than 4gb between mac and windows?

    I just borrowed a windows laptop and formatted an external USB drive FAT32 and am able to transfer files from my Tiger OS Mac and the Windows 7 computer..but now I discover the maximum file size is 4GB. How could I transfer files (usually video) larger than that? Thanks for any help.

    Set up a network and file sharing, or format the drive to Mac OS Extended and install the MacDrive trial on the PC, or format the drive to NTFS and install the NTFS-3G drivers on the Mac.
