Import Video - only audio working

Hello,
I have figured out how to get File>Import Video work.
The audio works, but the video does not. I only get a white
screen.
Suggestions or a great tutorial?

Video (Only Audio) Works on Mac-Created QT Web Movie

I'm on a Mac with iMovie 6. When I export a Quicktime movie using the standard Web export setting then post it on the Internet, PC users can only hear the audio but not see the video portion. What am I missing?

Since you are using QT 7 and the standard (preset) settings it is likely using H264 encoding for the movie. That means PC users would also have to have QT 7 for Windows installed to be able to see the video. You wiill have to use a PC-friendly format, like mpeg-1, for them. Since QT doesn't produce that format natively you will have to obtain some other software to do so, like Toast (commercial app) or perhaps ffmpegX (shareware).

I can't see any video website like youtube, vimeo, even facebook. My flash player is installed and it's work because I still can see the video in IE, only on Firefox it only audio work, the video is all blank(black), anyone can help me?

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

CNBC podcast is missing video only audio?

Does anyone experience CNBC Fast Money, Mad Money, and other CNBC shows podcast is missing video only audio? Is this an issue with the podcast?

iPhone, PC, table, etc ... FastMoney & MadMoney are 'audio' only (iTunes even list it as such) ... 'On the Money with Maria Bartiromo' is listed in iTunes as "video', but it does nt work at all ... I have to believe we need to connect CNBC

Import video and audio from a dvd into FCP

Is there an easier way to import video and audio into Final Cut Pro - I am playing it on a DVD player and making a digital tape of it. Then logging and capturing it into FCP.

You could use software, such as "streamclip", or import by plugging your camera into your capture device and hooking your capture device into your computer and capturing by non-controllable device settings.

QuickTime stand alone not playing video, only audio

Am running QuickTime stand alone on my PC with Windows XP Home 2002. For some reason the .mov files that were created with my digital camera will not play video (only audio) on this computer. The files seem to play fine on other computers. Have also found out that I can play downloand or streamed videos (only audio).
Can't figure out why video won't play. Other video formats (.avi for example) play fine through Windows Player.
Any insight? . . . anyone?

Atv2,atv3 iphone5 ipad2 airport extreme base station. NO video only audio.

I have an atv2 and atv3 on an AirPort Extreme base wifi network. All devices with latest software. I can play audio, show pictures, and play videos from iTunes (preview videos) on all devices. When I buy a video from iTunes, play the video and press the airplay button i only have audio and a small badge of the video in the bottom left corner but no video. Also no YouTube videos only audio. I have reset all devices and same results. Been battling this a while and would appreciate any help.

AVCHD m2ts - no video, only audio imported

Hi, I'm using Premiere Pro CS5.
I have a m2ts AVCHD file. Using mediainfo it says that the format is BDAV (though windows propeties says AVCHD...same thing?) and VC-1 (which I believe is the codec). I didn't film it btw so I don't know anything else about it.
When I import it into my premiere project it shows up as an audio file. The file in the imported list doesn't even have that video icon next to it but rather it has that speaker audio icon when clearly this is a video file. It's like the video is being recognised as an audio file. When I drag it onto the timeline there is only audio added!
I've already tried many things using tsmuxer and mkvtoolnix but no matter what I still don't get any video. The last thing I want to do is to have to re-encode the video cause I don't want to lose any quality at all and it's all too time consuming. Could it be some kind of codec problem?

I had the same problem with a new HD camera just purchased, PP CS5 saw my footage as an AVI and would only play the audio portion of the AVI file. The solution for me was to use the provided software which converted the file into a useable AVCHD m2ts file which PP CS5 then recogised and l was then able to edit.

Youtube videos are working on IE but in firefox only audio works. How to resolve this?

I can hear only audio when I try to play youtube videos. I am not aware why all of sudden this started happening. Please guide me on the same.

Starting in Firefox 37, YouTube will default to the built-in HTML5 video player in Firefox. When you visit the following page, normally 5 of the 6 tiles have a checkmark on a blue background, and one exclamation point on red:

It's possible that one of the components used to decode the video is not working properly. When you right-click the video, a custom menu should appear with a selection called Stats for nerds. Do you notice any kinds of errors mentioned there? I have attached an example for reference.

I can't Import Video, Transitions & Audio From One Project To Another

I've been working on this video all day and I’m finally in the home stretch but I've encountered my biggest problem yet. This is what I want to do. I have a series of clips, transitions, and separate music track in 1 open project and I want to transfer the whole kit and caboodle to another open project. For some reason when I do it only imports the video and some audio that's in track 1. I have tried locking audio clips to the video but it doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone help me!? I'm bleary eyed already I've been at this so long. Thanks!

catspaw: Thanks for replying!!! I think I was unclear as to what my problem was. The way I work is to have one Master project open and I then import various clips from other secondary projects as I build my movie. I know . . . this might seem nutty it’s just how I work. The clips, sound and transition were from a separate project but they were only part of the main movie I was building in my Master Project. Am I making any since? Anyway, I couldn’t take it any more so I rolled up my sleeves and went 1 by 1 through the audio clips and lined them up by hand with the imported video. I know this must be almost INPOSSIBLE to understand the way I’m explaining it, sorry! Basically, though, for now, I’ve solved the problem. Thanks so much! I’ll post again when I have my next iMovie anxiety attack.

Best way to import videos only for nested folders?

I have a bunch of nested folders like this
TOP LEVEL
-> Day 1
->->Videos
->->Photos
-> Day 2
->->Videos
->->Photos
Day 69...
Now I can't just choose import on the top level, because I don't want to import any of the photos.
I don't want to click on each individual videos folder because I'm afraid that I will miss one along the way.
What is the most organized way to import this?
Also, would you recommend having all the Days as one big event, or each separate event?

Russ's suggestion is probably the easiest to implement - and if you use external media you won't incur in much hard drive space penalty for it.
If you really want to import just the video and not the audio, here is a small shell script that you may use to replicate the structure of your folders, using symlinks, and omitting the photos file. It assumes only one level down.
You could copy and paste the text below to a file, replacing the two occurences of <path-of-top-folder> with the actual path of that folder, make the file executable and run it in Terminal.
(a similar thing could probably be achieved with a little applescript or perhaps automator, as well)
Note: I tested this in a small example, and it worked for me, but there is no guarantee, of course; but since the script below only creates some folders and symlinks, it is nondestructive, at least. At the end you should have at the same level as the original a "videos-only" folder replicating the structure of the videos using symlinks (no copied media).

I am having trouble with front row playing my video's shot with my Iphone 3gs.
At first, I only had audio and no video, but since the software update it was working fine.
But I just Imported some new vids from my Iphone to my mini.
The old vids have video and audio, but the newly imported vids I only hear audio and see no video....
Anyone knows how to fix this??

No Video, only Audio when building a DVD in Encore CS6

Hi everyone!
First post here, and I apologize if this has been somewhat covered in other posts, I couldn't seem to find any similar issues in this matter, and I pray someone here can help.
I'm new to DVD authoring, and just started using Adobe Encore CS6 over the summer. I shot a dance recital, and after following some tutorials, made an awesome DVD that was very well received.
However, my last two DVDs have not come out working properly. I imported .m2v files from HC Encoder (DVD Compliant, max 7500kbps for safety) into Adobe Encore CS6, where the .m2v files say "Don't Transcode." They play just fine in the timelines in Encore.
When I build the DVD to either a folder, image, or disc, only audio plays for the video portions of the DVD. The only way to get the video to play is if I run the DVD through VLC. I tested in Windows Media Center (on Windows 8) as well as my PlayStaton 4, and the black picture with audio persists for each video element of the DVD.
Between making the DVD of the dance recital and the DVD today, I have gone through at least two complete system restores, if this is something that could possibly have made things go awry. If it helps to know, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro.

I imported an *.m2v file along with a *.wav file, both the exact same durations and lined up correctly in the timeline. In the project panel, for the *.m2v it says "Don't Transcode" for Status and "Don't Transcode" for Settings; for the *.wav it says, "Untranscoded" for Status and "Automatic" for settings.
That's all that Encore's telling me about the files.
Side note, interestingly enough, I went back and re-exported the DVD of the Dance Recital that I had mentioned earlier, and it plays just fine. (I'm trying to compare the two projects as best I can) It seems as if the *.m2v file that I made in HCEncoder for the recital plays just fine in Windows Media Player, however my most recent ones do not. But they still play in Encore. Needless to say, I'm baffled.
