Import video to iPad 2

I am using canon cameraroder and import video to iPad 2 and I cannot get video import . Need a help

Are you trying to do it with the Camera Connection Kit? It is likely your Canon video format is not a compatible format.
This is from the iPad 2 Video Spec section:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

  • TZ20 (ZS10) import videos on iPad 2 via camera connection kit?

I have a Panasonic TZ20 (ZZ10) which takes HD movies in AVC format (.mts files).
I have an iPad 2 and am thinking of getting the camera connection kit and iMovie for iOS. My question is I know the. CCK will import full resolution the still photos, but will it also import the videos, and can I then import them to iMovie for editing? I want to use this direct method, ie TZ20>CCK>iPad 2>iMovie.
Has anyone had success in importing videos via CCK from a compact camera? Do they play fine on iPad 2? Can you see them in photo/video roll? Do they have to be converted via iPad 2 import 1st?
    Cheers

    No.
iMovie for iOS ONLY work for video shot on an ipod, iPhone or iPad.
Or video converted to a format that is the same as that shot by iOS devices.
Has anyone had success in importing videos via CCK from a compact camera?
I have tried, but it just does not accept video that is not mp4, 720P.
You will have to convert on a computer.
And while you are there you might as well edit it on the computer as it has more space, more speed, and can edit better.

  • How do I import video from iPad and edit it on a PC?

I recorded a long video on iPad that needs trimming, and it has to be uploaded onto my PC. How can I do this?

Try hooking your iPad up to your computer, then use windows explorer to navigate to your iPad. Your computer should see the iPad's camera roll as just another camera. You may need to poke around in folders but see if you can find the one that has your video in it. Then simply drag and drop from your iPad to your computer.
Then use the editing program of your choice to work with it.

  • Can't import videos on iPad into Aperture

Using the camera connection kit, I've transferred photos and video from my SD card to my iPad. Both videos and photos show up fine there.
When I try to use Aperture to import the photos from the iPad, the videos don't show up in the import screen, only the photos. They do show up when I try to import into iPhoto, however. I've looked in all the usual places for the import setting that might do the trick but I'm not finding anything.
So, is this possible or is there a limitation in Apeture?

    OK, solved. From http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1017&message=35747987&chang emode=1
"The problem was the "RAW+JPEG Pairs" setting in the import panel. Which for me, was not that obvious that it is related to videos files. But if you have your settings as RAW-only the video do not show up in the import view and cannot be imported. But if you choose IMPORT: Both (Separate Masters) you can import movies."

  • Importing videos into iPad

I'm trying to import a wmv file into the iTunes library - as I drag the file across iTunes, a red circle with a line through it appears - it won't let me import the video. What do I need to do to import? Thanks -

According to our good friend Dave, can't add WMV.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11201407&#11201407
But there is a converter listed here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2369325
And that was just a quick search for "wmv itunes". Search for that as well and it can provide maybe with more answers that will work for you. I was curious but didn't immediately come up with an iTunes only solution.

  • I want to use a retro TV screen as a mask for an imported video. It works and previews correctly in iBooks Author but not when previewed on my iPad. Any workarounds or suggestions welcome.

    Hi there
I've been trying to give my imported videos a new spin by using the screen on a retro TV image to play the video on. I've masked the screen in Photoshop, saved it as a transparent .png and placed it onto the page. I then place the video, size it to fit the screen, send it to the back and, as if by magic, the video appears to play on the TV. However, as soon as I preview the book and go to view it on my ipad, the video is back in front of the TV and the illusion is lost.
Is there any way around this or am I going to have to make all my TV screens the same rectangular shape as the video? Also, is there any way I can stop the video being played full screen? Some of my videos are over 50 years old and the quality is pretty poor at full screen.
    Many thanks.

    Don't rely on 'Preview'.
Share/Export as .ibooks file and then drag that to iTunes and sync to your iPad.
Still no joy, find a pre-processing recipe ( that includes export for iPad) that doesn't spoil the quality in the process.
Just keep in mind that low quality in means low or lower quality out, in this example.

  • I have lost my photos/videos when i imported from my ipad 2 to my new imac latest version and it's not reading the files.  I have downloaded iMac library manager and can see them. can someone shed some light please ?

i have lost my photos/videos when i imported from my ipad 2 to my new imac latest version OS X 10.8.4
and it's not reading the files.  I have downloaded iMac library manager and can see them.  when i go back into iphoto i'm getting the following message :
Do you want to switch the current iPhoto Library from “iPhoto Library.photolibrary” to “iPhoto Library.photolibrary” and relaunch iPhoto?
I don't know what to do - please help !!!!
can someone shed some light please ?

So it appears you have only one library on the hard drive. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed to that library:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Import iphone 4 video to ipad (the "new" one)

    Hey there,
I shot a video with my iphone 4 and want to import it to the ipad  to work on it with iMovie.
Is it still the same as I need to convert the video or is there an easy way?
Currently I can see the video on the ipad under videos, but I can not add it to iMovie, I only see the videos I shot with the ipad
    Appreciate any help...
    Michael

    Have a read of this:
File Transfer between iPad2 and iPad(3) via iTunes
It explains how to transfer videos or projects.
We talk about iPad to iPad but imagine the one iPad is your iPhone.
What you did wrong was copy the video to the movies tab, you should be importing video via the photos tab.
Then the photos app can see it, and so also iMovie.
iMovie cannot edit from the movies app (this is for copyright movies).

Experimental advice (in this particular context) coming up.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect.

  • IPad Air won't import video from Sony Cyber-shot W830 camera

We are able to import pictures from a Sony Cyber-shot W830 camera to an iPad Air using the lightning to USB adapter and a powered USB hub. However, if there is video on the camera along with the pictures, or only video on the camera, no option to import to the iPad will show up. I can get video onto the iPad by syncing with iTunes but I'd like to be able to accomplish it using the adapter when we are away from home and without internet access. Any suggestions?

I have got some photos on card, so can't format before importing.
Anyway, after I imported the photos on my old Macbook pro, I format the card in camera, no selection for FAT32, FAT or ... After formatting, I took some new photos for a test. On the new Macbook, the same problem occurred again.
