der Import von Pfaden in Indesign aus Illustrator (mit Bildnachzeichner in Illustrator erstellt) funtioniert seit heute nicht mehr. Bekomme Fehlermeldung in Indesign: Illustrator-Import ist fehlgeschlagen. ich habe in Illustrator ein Bild mit dem Bildnachzeichner erstellt (Silhouetten). Früher war das Ergebniss in Illustrator ein Pfad mit einer Farbe von 100% Schwarz, die dann einfach per copy + paste von Illustrator in Indesign eingefügt werden konnte.
Jetzt habe ich in Illustrator als Objektart ein nachgezeichnetes Bild und eine zusammengesetzte Form (Pfad). Wenn ich jetzt alles komplett markiere oder nur den Pfad oder den Pfad nochmal kopiere und mit 100% Schwarz fülle und in Indesign einfügen will, kommt diese oben beschriebene Meldung.
Vielleicht hat es mit der Umwandlung in Illustrator zu tun, was wurde dort zur CC 2014 Version geändert??

    Hallo Forum User,
    anbei mal eine Frage zu Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Wenn ich Bilder von meiner Digitalkamera Canon EOS 7D über den
    Organizer nach PSE importiere mit der Option "Originale nach Kopiervorgang löschen" werden diese nach dem Importvorgang von der Kamera
    auch gelöscht. Wenn ich den Import mit der Option "Kopierte Dateien überprüfen und Originale löschen" werden die Bilder zwar importiert
    aber leider nicht von der Kamera gelöscht :-( . Mache ich was falsch ?
    Vielleicht hat ja jemand eine Idee,

    Den Import von ID finde ich allgemein sehr mangel- und fehlerhaft. Neben den Problemen mit RTF kann ich z.B. auch kein einziges DOCX-Dokument importieren. Egal ob ich das DOCX mit OO speichere oder den hauseigenen Microsoft-Konverter nehme, ID zeigt mir immer nur ein paar Sekunden die Eieruhr und danach passiert nichts mehr. Ich komme da nicht mal bis zum Import-Dialog.
    Schon fast frech finde ich da dann auch die InDesign-Hilfe, die in solchen (offenbar bekannten) Fällen rät, die Dateien doch als DOC zu speichern.
    Liebe Leute von Adobe, so geht das nicht! Ich finde die Neuerungen von CS4 gerade bei ID auch sehr nützlich und störe mich nicht so sehr an dem Update-Preis; schon in CS3 und vermutlich auch früher bekannte Fehler zu beheben, sollte aber euer wichtigstes Anliegen sein. So langsam komme ich mir wie früher mit Word vor, wo Microsoft auch manchen Bug Generationen lang durch das Programm geschleppt hat.

    The download application tells me an error and asks me to contact customer service. What I do with this email before calling Monday morning.

    Ich vermute mal, dies hängt mit der automatischen Sommer/Winterzeit-Umstellung unter Windows zusammen. Du kannst ja mal versuchen, diese in der Systemsteuerung probeweise zu deaktivieren (während der Sommerzeit!), um die Wirkung zu sehen. Windoof zeigt dann alle Dateien -1 h an.
    Ganz klar warum PSE4 aber nicht die Exif-Daten als Referenz nimmt, oder man dies auch nicht explizit auswählen kann, finde ich mangelhaft. Eine Funktion "EXIF-Datumsangaben" benutzen, wäre wohl das mindeste..

    Ist es möglich die Creative Suite 6 Master Collection von einer externen Festplatte aus zu installieren und ist dabei etwas besonderes zu beachten? Mögliche Vorgehensweise: Die Installations-DVD in den alten Rechner einlegen, die ext. Festplatte anzustöpseln, alle Ordner rüber kopieren, ext. Festplatte ans Cintiq Companion mit Windows 8.0 bzw. 8.1 anschließen und von der externen Festplatte aus dann die Creative Suite installieren?

    I don't know whether or not copying the contents of installation disks is allowed nor if it would work as you outline.  But you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

  • Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6 - PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator immediately shuts down after startup

    I'm troubleshooting for a customer who have Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6.
    His programs suddenly wont start, they launches and starts to read plug-ins and open up a workspace, but then without warning/error it shuts down. no log, error message or anything...
    It's the same for PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator both in 32 bit and 64.
    He is running the suit on a Hp EliteBook 8560p with Windows 7 Pro x64 sp1.
    He also have had a Wacom Bamboo CTE 650 penpad installed before.
    This is what I've done so far:
    * Uninstall the whole suit and reinstalled it again (Done this 3-4 times, manually deleted regestry-files, used CClean and other cleaning tools)
    * Deleted the wacom-drivers with controlpanel tool, Windows driver Clean tool, CClean and manually deleted registry-keys and files.
    * Uninstall Anti-Virus software and replaced it with another, inactivated AV and Windows Firewall.
    * Deleted register-files for the suits and "reregister" them again.
    * Full patch both for windows and adobe softwares.
    * Reboot between each step
    Any suggestions?
    I have to add that adobe support for this $2000 software really sucks...

    Problem solved!
    I went through all the folders associated with adobe cs6 and renamed them (one by one) so they would be recreated.
    I did this before but seems like I missed this specific one.
    Anyway, when I renamed the folder "SLCache" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ and then ran the applications one by one as administrator I was prompted to enter a serial-key again and log in to my Adobe-ID.

    I need to obtain an image's attributes such as dimensions (height, width in pixels) without placing image in indesign document.
    I have full path of the image (say abc.jpg is stored at c:\my pic\abc.jpg).
    I have obtained the IDFile for this image, tried getting size using GetFileSize() which correctly return size in bytes.
    Is there any way to get the height/width of image without importing it in the indesign document.
    Please, give me some hints. I have spent quite a lot time digging in CHM. I have searched in FileUtils, IDFile API's but found no method which serves this purpose.
    At this point I am clueless where to search next.
    Any help will be appriciated.
    Just a point to mention, I am able to get image height and width for an image in indesign doc though Its not my requirement.

    You might be able to examine the contents of the PlaceGun after calling kImportAndLoadPlaceGunCmdBoss without actually placing the image in a document. Not sure, but would be worth looking at.
    Otherwise you will probably have to write platform specific code, ideally with a generic platform-independant wrapper (see SDKSamples/paneltreeview/PlatformFileSystemIterator).
    For the Mac, look at CGImageGetWidth() etc., not sure what the best option is for windows.
    Perhaps Quicktime could provide you with a platform independant solution.

  • Smart Object as traditional link (as in InDesign or Illustrator)

    Is there a way to link a smart object, so that updates are made to the originally placed object ....as opposed to creating a new vector file save in a temporaray folder.  Is there a way to work with smart object like traditional links in InDesign and Illustrator?

  • Color Separations in InDesign and Illustrator

    I am trying to print spot color separations. In both InDesign and Illustrator the "separations" is gray. I can only print RGB and grayscale.
    My colors are set up as spot. I even tried to print from Acrobat and "separations" is gray there also. Do I need to re-install my drivers or the programs.
    I am trying to print to postscript printers but neither one lets me select separations.
    I am using CS3
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Professional
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2
    Intel(R) Core (TM)2CPU
    6600 @ 2.40 GHz

    I’m not familiar with those models. Are the PostSCript compatible? If so, then you should get the most recent drivers from the manufacturers’ websites. It’s been ages since I needed to worry about printer drivers in Windows, but maybe you need a PostScript printer utility or printer driver from Adobe, too.

  • Can no longer import Word files into InDesign

    Hello,
    For many months I have been importing Word files into InDesign CS3 (Mac OSX 10.4.11) with no trouble, but I started having a problem yesterday.
    When importing a 17-page Word file with 16 footnotes, I got none of the text and only the footnote numbers. This is what I get in InDesign:

    These are the things I've tried already: restarting, deleting preferences, changing the import options, using CS2, importing someone else's Word file, importing a Word file that I imported successfully a couple of months ago. None of this works.
    It has been suggested that I save the Word file as rtf, but since I have 200 files to import and I'm using Word's character styles for italics, bold, small caps, etc., I'd rather try to fix this problem.
    Can someone help?

    I am using indesign CS2 and i'm trying to import a Word document into a new chapter for a book i'm laying out. it's about 30 pages, but there are at least 80 foot notes. i'm able to get about 1/2 of the document with the footnotes to flow correctly, then EVERYTHING disappears. the only way i've been able to get the remaining text to appear is by adding characters to the text. i'll hit "vvvvvvvvvvvv" a bunch of times and "magically" a little chunk of text and it's footnotes appears. then the ole disappearing act happens. so i do it again. i'm able to get all the text to appear finally, but when i delete the "vvvvvvvvvv" from the places i inserted them, the text disappears again. i have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. any ideas?

    I am trying to copy and paste some graphical elements from InDesign to Illustrator. The Paste command is active in Illustrator, but when I evoke the command, nothing is pasted. What is wrong?

    Apparently it is an issue with Leopard (and Illustrator)
    Workarounds:
    1) Export from InDesign as eps or PDF, or
    2) Copy paste into Photoshop as a Smartobject, and then double click the layer to edit smart object (it will open in Illustrator)
    I know, it's a pain.

    Re PDFs - actually, I'm working in Acrobat (not just a finalized PDF), and Acrobat does of course allow editing of a sort; I'd concluded that since Adobe is willing to tolerate that degree of editing with its product, it should therefore tolerate moving its native format (*.pdf) into another of its own native formats (*.indd). I see that's a misconception.
    This morning I tried all flavors I could find of getting my Acrobatted content into ID3, including copy/paste, place, and import (from the ID side); none was satisfactory.  Output from Acrobat to Word and then placing Word was fine for English but destroyed the Greek - not just wrong font, but complete gobbledygook and loss of all diacriticals.  Names of fonts don't matter for my purposes; the legibility of the English, and the legibility and tonic accuracy of the Greek do matter. Author of this project is not tech-savvy and is using old Greek system as well; nothing he or i can do to fix that.
    Current plan is to request author to provide me his native files, which will be Mac files.  Am I understanding the Import dialog and your collecitve comments to suggest that with that file resident on my PC (and unopened), I can use the Place dialog, with "Show Options" selected, to get the Mac file into ID?

    Hi, I recently brought a new HP Printer (HP Photosmart B110) and installed the software for for it and all the colour profiles for the papers were visible in the drop down box (they were HP Premium Photo, HP Advance and HP Premium Plus Photo) but after updating the drivers they all vanished (see image for InDesign and Illustrator examples).
    I contacted HP and uninstalled all the HP software as well as deleting HP related files and then reinstalled the software again but the Colour Profiles were still not visible. I have contacted HP again and they have said that it's something to do with my Adobe software so I was wondering if anyone can help me with solving this problem?

    HP is fond of pointing the finger at Adobe, and in fairness their drivers often don't work well with InDesign (HP printers account for the largest number of printer related problems on the forum by far, and I don't think it's just due to market share), but installing color profiles has NOTHING to do with any Adobe software. If the profiles were being installed properly by the HP installer, they's be in the system someplace (probably the colorsynch folder) and they'd be available to other programs even if Adobe apps didn't find them.
    If the HP low-level tech feeds you that "it's an Adobe problem" BS again, immediately ask to be escalated to someone who knows what they are talking about, and take names.
