Import Wizard Error Message

We are using XI R2 SP3 FP3.4. I sucessfully created a biar file from my development environment. When I tried to import the biar file into my staging environment, I received an error message that the user already exists on the destination system. Only group membership information will be updated. When I look in my staging environment, I don't see the user. I do know the user ID but is there a way I can search for that and delete the user?

Hey Lisa,
yes, you can go to the BOBJ querybuilder , usually is located at (http://yourbobjaddress:808/AdminTools) and run the following query :
SELECT SI_ID , SI_NAME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='USER' AND SI_NAME='<username>'
That being said, if you look at the username , you can right click and select properties, it will tell you both, ID and CUID , you can delete the user using that.

  • Import rules, error message "Invalid system"

    Hi,
When importing rules under Rule Architect - Import rules, error message "VBS is invalid system" . In the configuration tab we have system  and System Name defined as VBS, test connection successful.
Why is it giving an error message VBS is invalid system? Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    Hi,
Is it rule import after taking an export from other system? In that case, make sure destination system name doesn't contain any space in it.
Also, make sure text and auth Objects are uploaded for VBS system before doing rules import.

The following solution may work for u.
You may receive the above error message if BusinessObjects Enterprise tries to access  database after the associated RSS file has been deleted or corrupted. You need to replace the deleted or corrupted RSS file with a clean copy of the file, either from another BusinessObjects Enterprise installation

  • Dunning Wizard error message

    Dear All,
I have an error message with the Dunning Wizard, and cannot print any of the Dunning Letters. The error message is: 'Invalid variable number (RPT -6300) (Field F_136) Variable '452' I have already deleted this field from the layouts, but it didn't help. I have switched back the default layout forms to the predefinied 'System' types, but the error message is still there. Do you have any  idea on that issue?
    Thank you, Balazs

If you never deleted any fields from system PLD when you edited your PLD, it might be application error.

I just installed BOJ XI 3.0 on a new server. I am trying to import the reports, users and data sources from our CE9 server to the new server. When I put in the APS name, log on name and password I get a error message saying..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I have over 900 reports and I dont wnat to have to manually upload every one..
    Thanks in advance.

    Thomas,
I am afraid that you will have to upgrade to XI or XIR2 first. Below is something from 3.0 guide:
If you are upgrading from Crystal Enterprise 9 or 10, you must first upgrade to either BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, or XI Release 2 SP2 or higher.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lightroom import images error message

I have installed a new version of lightroom onto my new MAC, and I am unable to import my images into LR.
I receive the error message...the following files were not imported because they could not be read... I am able to load the files on a 2nd mac with no problem.  I have tried unistalling and reinstalling LR, with no luck.  What is going on????  This is so frustrating.  I am an avid LR user since version 1 &2 on a PC(new to the MAC world), could it be the MAC?...., however, I cannot figure this one out??
    Thanks
    Rochelle

I know the message talks of reading, but that one sometimes crops up when the files can't be written. Make very sure that you have write access to the folders that you are copying or moving the images into. Just as an experiment, try Adding a photo from some folder on your hard disk. (Add imports the photo without changing its location.) If that works, it will strongly suggest that you need to change permissions on the recieving disk/folder.
Also, if you are writing to an external hard disk, make sure it's not formatted NTFS. Macs can read those disks, but not write to them. To share a disk between Macs and PCs, you need to format FAT32.

  • Can't import music; error message reads, "The importer reported a generic error."

I've attempted to drag and drop multiple music files into the Soundtrack bar but nothing is working. I keep getting the same Error Message, which reads, "The importer reported a generic error." Can someone lead me in the right direction with some help?

Along with the comments by both John T., and Steve G., there have been some issues reported with both of the two, Fixed Audio Tracks, Soundtrack and Narration. I do not think you have gotten that far yet, but wanted to point out the potential for those issues. Should you get your music Imported into the Project, but have issues when you use either Narration, or Soundtrack, just use an empty "regular" Audio Track.
Good luck, and please let us know more about your music files.

  • Recovered Imported Photos Error/Message

When I recently converted back from Windows XP to MacOS I did an import of all pictures in My Pictures directory on Windows into iPhoto. Not sure what happened, but there are 145 pictures that are duplicates that I deleted, but then every time I launch iPhoto it now gives me a message stating:
"145 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?"
When I select "No" I get next:
"The photos have been placed in the folder /Users/charltonmonsanto/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_17"
17 being the number of times I have launched iPhoto since this started. It creates a folder every single time...
Any way to tell iPhoto to forget about these photos? I have deleted all of the folders. I have said yes to the import question and then deleted them again...

TD...I'm having the same problem, and I am new to Mac. Where do I find the Pictures folder? In Iphoto? I imported all my photos directly from an external hard drive into Iphoto. Come to find out though that maybe I should have downloaded them to a folder in Imac first, then uploaded them into Iphoto. Live and learn. Note...the error repeats each time I open Iphoto, but it's the same pic each time and for the sake of me I can't find it anywhere. Appreciate any help you can give.

  • Import Wizard Error: Big Red X

I'm using SQL Server 2012 Management Studio. I'm trying to import a .xlsx file into a database that I full permissions to.  I successfully imported two smaller (~70mb) files and am now working on a larger file of 171mb. When I choose the data source
and hit Next, the wizard sits and hangs for a bit, and then displays an error screen where the "Additional Information" is just a big red X on a white background. This has happened twice.
    Aaron Jarboe

Well I think it is difficult to suggest on the issue without having any issue description.
However my focus will be towards the source field datatypes and destination field datatypes. For instance if you have datetime string field not in proper format and we are trying to import to a SQL column whose datatype is datetime or date, there we may
have errors. Moreover excel file may contain unicode characters which can create additional problem while importing.
Therefore we can try converting the excel format to plain text(tab/csv). Or you may import all the source fields as string datatype and spcifying as string datatype in SQL destination table. Finally you may identify whether it is due to datetime format
    or not.
Make sure that you have enough field size in the destination table.

  • Imported photos error message & Pictures Folder in Library question

I've spent today moving my photos from an external drive to iPhoto on my new iMac. I was pretty much successful, except for a few problems, and questions:
I dragged My Pictures folder from the e-drive to iPhoto, copying the pix. Long story short, I stupidly did it a second time a few hours later, causing a duplicate folder for every one I already had in iPhoto. I dragged each dupe folder to the trash, emptying it after every 100 photos or so. I merged some events, deleted some unwanted pix and organized things a bit.
Okay, I thought everything was fine, but the next time I opened iPhoto, I got this message: "3 photos have been found in the iPhoto library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?" I hit "Yes", which brought up this message: "3 Unreadable files - The following files could not be imported...". This added a Recovered Photos folder to "My Albums" in iPhoto. I closed iPhoto, and when I opened it again was presented with the same "...would you like to import them" message. This time I hit "No" and was told the files could be found in my Library in a "Recovered Photos" folder.
I went to Go then to Library and found 2 Recovered Photos folders in "Pictures" in library. I tried to open one and it started Terminal (yikes!). I quickly quit Terminal, hoping I didn't cause my Mac any harm. In the meantime, every time I open iPhoto, I get the same message, along with another Recovered Photos folder in both My Albums in iPhoto and in the Pictures folder in my Library. I now have 6 of these folders in my Library and I'm afraid to go near them. Can I delete them or is that a no-no? (Sorry, I'm an ex-PC user). What can I do to stop that "would I like to import the 3 photos" message every time I open iPhoto?
Also, I know that when I'm ready to backup my photos to the e-drive I'll drag the iPhoto library file from the Library folder directly to the e-drive. But... why are the folders I originally dragged from the e-drive into iPhoto still in my Library folder under "Pictures"? They still have the names I originally gave them when they were on my e-drive, and I've since renamed and merged them in iPhoto. If they've been copied into the official (or whatever it's called) iPhoto library file, then are they dupes? Can I safely delete the old folders or do they serve some kind of purpose?
    Thank you in advance,
Sunny (scared to make any mistakes on my new precious machine!)

I dragged My Pictures folder from the e-drive to iPhoto, copying the pix.
That imports your old library into iPhoto and will give you duplicates of all photos and triplicates of modified photos - the way to move your iPhoto library to a new machine is to connect the machines together - via a network or firewire target mode - drag the iPhoto library (if there is one) on the new machine to the desktop and drag the old iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the pictures folder of the new Mac and launching iPhoto on the new machine - there is no importing involved
Long story short, I stupidly did it a second time a few hours later, causing a duplicate folder for every one I already had in iPhoto. I dragged each dupe folder to the trash, emptying it after every 100 photos or so. I merged some events, deleted some unwanted pix and organized things a bit.

Doing the above procedure will correct this since you are removing the library that has the problem and bringing over a good library
If this ever occurs in the future it is one of the very few times that you should delete something from your iPhoto library - quit iPhoto, right click (control click) on the iPhoto library and select the show package contents command - drag the import (or importing) folder to the desktop and launch iPhoto - the problem will be gone - open the import(ing) folder(s) on your desktop and be sure that there are no photos in there that you want and then delete the folders
Also, I know that when I'm ready to backup my photos to the e-drive I'll drag the iPhoto library file from the Library folder directly to the e-drive. But... why are the folders I originally dragged from the e-drive into iPhoto still in my Library folder under "Pictures"? When you drag between volumes it copies the files/folders - so to backup you drag the iPhoto library from the pictures folder on your iMac to the external hard drive it will copy it
As to deleting the iphoto library on the e-drive - I suggest you get your iPhoto library totally fixed ad tested on your iMac before deleting any original files or the old iPhoto library

  • Unreadable Files: cannot import files error message

I am trying to import old photos from a previous hard drive and get the following message-
    Unreadable Files: (# of files)
The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).
Then it will have the files and their locations that I am trying to open in the box below. These files can be opened with no problems using Adobe Photoshop Elements 3, Canon's Image Browser as well as Preview. They originally came in as digital photos from a Canon digital camera. They used to be able to open in iPhoto with no problem. They either have a [.JPG] extension or none at all. There are a lot of them. Could it be they were used by an older version of iPhoto and are unrecognizable in this one?
I am running iPhoto 4.0.3 Any suggestions?

    David:
You just reminded me of one more thing you can try. Log in to another account on your iMac and see if iPhoto will import as it should. If it does then it's a problem with your primary account. One cause might be another preference file that's in conflict with iPhoto. You can use Preferential Treatment to check for any corrupt or damaged user or system preference file. It's not foolproof however. If none are found and it sill won't import, then you can try the following method developed my another user:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Prefs folder (in its entirety) to the desktop. Start iPhoto. Determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up. Except for those items that are obviously not related, move the contents to the old Prefs folder on the desktop, replacing what had been there. When in doubt, move the item. The worst thing that can happen is a harmless "alert" message. Then, trash what remains of the new folder. Finally, move the old (but modified) Prefs folder back to the library.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the old one back to its original location.
If stlll no go, I'd try reinstalling the 10.2.9 COMBO updater followed by a permissions repair.
