Import Wizard Not Translating CMS_HOST to Correct IP Address
I'm trying to run the BOXIR2 import wizard to import objects from PROD to DEV. The PROD server was moved several months ago, and this is the first time the import wizard has run since then. When I type in the CMS_NAME of the PROD host, I get an error message saying that it cannot connect to the CMS, and the IP Address that it is trying to actually connect to is the "old" PROD server address.
When I ping the hostname of the PROD server, the correct "new" IP address is resolved. Does BOXIR2 have a separate location where it stores CMS_NAME hosts, and an IP address for it?
I've confirmed that there is no firewall between the two servers.
The error message is "Error Logging on to server. Check logon information and try again (IWZ 00001). Transport error : Communication failure". Also, it only appears when selecting the "destination" in the wizard. The first screen is the source, and that goes through ok. I've also tried it from both servers, PRD to DEV, and DEV to PRD. Both times it errors when selecting the destination.
I would think that the import wizard can't communicate with the CMS, but I'm not clear on how the Import Wizard connects. Does it have a settings file or registry entry that I can edit?
Thanks.

Import Wizard not functioning in Developer Studio
I am attempting to import a par file into Developer Studio in order to modify it.
When I click File > Import, the dialog box "The following wizards are available" Select Import Source shows a blank list of no import sources and it seems there is no way to perform an import. (No matter which perspective I am using).
Any ideas on how I can get the Import Wizards or feature to work?
Regards,
Stephanie Schipper.Me too. I believe the issue was related to an upgrade. NWDS 7.0.0 was working fine. I upgraded to SP6 (7.0.0.6). Uninstalling and re-installing 7.0.0 fixed the problem.

Data Import Wizard Not Importing
When importing even a very small csv file, pressing the "Finish" button does nothing.
"Verify" reports success on all tests.
Checking "Send to Worksheet" makes no difference.
File is on network drive.
Database is 10.2.0.4.

Report and Layout Import Wizard does not work
We used the Report and Layout Import Wizard extensively in 8.80 with no problems encountered.
We are now upgraded to 8.81 PL07. This is the first attempt at using the wizard in 8.81. The intro window of the wizard, with 'To Start, use the "Next" button' message is as far as I can get. The "Next" and "Cancel" buttons are inoperative - when I click them, there is no response (but they are not greyed out). The program has not crashed - I can move the window, and the "X" close button at top right works, but nothing else does. I am logged in as a superuser, running B1 in an RDP session on the server, same as under 8.80.
Any ideas out there?Hi,
This is a 8.81 PL07 bug!
I had the same problem this week, and i found the note [1615932 - Buttons "Cancel" and "Next" are inactive in Report and layout import wizard window], that says that it is corrected on PL08!

Table or view does not exist - Data Dictionary Import Wizard(Data Modeler)
Hi All,
In Data Modeler, Data Dictionary Import Wizard, I'm able to connect to database. But while going to the second stage (Select Schema/Database), I'm getting an error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist".
I am able to select the table with select * from all_tables and I can open many tables as well.
Could anyone tell me, whether I'm missing any privilege, that causing this error.
Thanks in advance for you support.
Thanks.Hi,
Thanks for your response, sorry for my late reply as I was away from my place.

Import Wizard fails to export - object could not be written in the ids-file
Hello,
the complete export of the BO environment into a biar-file with the import wizard fails. In the wizard's dialog every option is choosen as "all". When the export is started it stops already in the folder objects. The log file says the object allocation could not be written in the ids-file. So I presume a problem with references.
In order to figure out which object is responsible for the error I varied the export and finally identified the "repository objects" as the the responsible type of objects. When I now run the export and only use the needed repository objects it works fine.
But I don't know, if export is complete (I presume it).
Has anyone a idea what the reason can be for this problem? Can it be fixed in the database? This kind of export did work fine the week before.
thanks, matthiasCould you quote the entire error message, word-for-word, verbatim? What Import settings are you using ... Copy, Move, Add?
Most likely you have a permissions issue, but it will be much more clear to me if I can see the entire message. -

ThanksHello
The following solution may work for u.
You may receive the above error message if BusinessObjects Enterprise tries to access database after the associated RSS file has been deleted or corrupted. You need to replace the deleted or corrupted RSS file with a clean copy of the file, either from another BusinessObjects Enterprise installation

Yesterday, a technician was preparing computers to deploy OS. He was in a replace scenario and mistakenly mixed the MAC address of the source computer with the one of the new computer.
So when importing computer information for the new one, he entered the wrong MAC address; the one of the source computer already existing in the SCCM database.
I expected the Import Computer Information wizard to generate an error, but no, the import was successful resulting with the source computer DDR being overwritten...
We spent (and lost) time recreating the DDR for the source computer so we could create the computer association for USMT migration.
2 years ago, I opened a call with Microsoft for the exact same issue with SCCM 2007. At that time, they told me that no hotfix would be developped for this bug since there was a workaround (overwritten DDR will re-create itself with Heartbeat
discovery over time) and SCCM 2012 was coming up.
It seems to me that they forgot to fix the issue in 2012. It doesn't seem to be fixed with SP1 as I didn't find anything about it in SP1 doc..
Can someone confirm this bug and can Microsoft do something? Or is there a hotfix already available for it?
Tnx
PatrickWell you could always remove the Delete Resource permission from the technicians User Rights :P
The option to not overwrite the existing computer object, is right there in the SDK.
So it's anyone's guess, why they haven't added an checkbox in the Import Computer Information wizard and why overwrite is set as the default.
Anyways...you can use the following PowerShell script instead of the Import Wizard.
Just open up a PowerShell console, type in . X:\Path\To\Script\ScriptName.ps1 and
then type New-SCCMComputer
Or you can create a shortcut with the following target %SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -NoExit -Command . X:\Path\To\Script\New-SCCMComputer.ps1; New-SCCMComputer
You will need to change the default values for $SiteServer and $SiteCode to your environment
Function New-SCCMComputer
[CmdletBinding()]
Param(
[Parameter(Mandatory=$False)] $SiteServer = "Server.Domain.Local",
[Parameter(Mandatory=$False)] $SiteCode = "PS1",
[Parameter(Mandatory=$True,HelpMessage="Please Enter the Computers Name")] $ResourceName,
[Parameter(Mandatory=$True,HelpMessage="Please Enter the Computers MAC ")] $ResourceMAC
#ImportComputer
$WMIConnection = ([WMIClass]"\\$($SiteServer)\root\SMS\Site_$($SiteCode):SMS_Site")
$NewEntry = $WMIConnection.psbase.GetMethodParameters("ImportMachineEntry")
$NewEntry.MACAddress = $ResourceMAC
$NewEntry.NetbiosName = $ResourceName
$NewEntry.OverwriteExistingRecord = $False
$Resource = $WMIConnection.psbase.InvokeMethod("ImportMachineEntry",$NewEntry,$null)
if ($Resource)
if ($Resource.MachineExists) {
Write-Host "ERROR: MACAddress allready exists" -foregroundcolor red
} else {
Write-Host "Succesfully imported the computer information" -foregroundcolor green
} else {
Write-Host "ERROR: Could not import the computer information" -foregroundcolor red

"File" does not have "Import. Can't open Import Wizard
"File" on the Mozilla Firefox screen has no "Import" necessary to open the Import Wizard. I can't import any info. from my former browser.
The Import wizard has been moved to the Library window: click ''Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Import Data from Another Browser''

Inbox and Personal docs not listed/imported with Import Wizard (XI R2 SP3)

CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
When using the Import Wizard to import personal and inbox documents from BO 6.5.3, the documents are not listed in the Import summary and are not found. I've read various posts on BOBJ, etc and have attempted the suggestiopns with both an account that exists and one that doesn't exist in XI. I've also attempted with selecting a corporate document in the mix, but no deal. It's like the wizard cannot see the files, even though I navigate directly to the folder they're in. Anyone have any suggestions????
Thanks!!Post Author: CFC
CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
I love it when the solution is this simple According to BO tech support, the Inbox and Personal documents WILL NOT be listed in the Summary page, but they WILL be imported. After clicking the Finish button (even though the reports aren't listed), you'll then see the documents listed when the Import Wizard fires up. It worked for me and Inbox and Personal documents came across fine. -

While login to Import wizard, I am having the following error:
The username and password is correct. I have Full Control right for the user in the folders.
Am I missing any right ?
Thanks and Regards,
ArijitHi Arjit,
Check the Following Points:
Transport Error Communication failure: Due to Connection Lost between database and CCM (Central Configuration Manager), please check the event viewer to see the status regarding connection lost.
If Connection Lost is there then Restart the Server Intelligence Agent (Node).
Then Re-login and check it.
Hope this help you as well. After completion of your activity please close the thread.
Thanks,

DCS Info Not Translating Correctly
After installing Lion, I started getting a false consumables error from my Okidata C9650 printer.
The Okidata people tell me this is a Lion error. They say Lion is not translating DCS (Desktop Color Separation) data correctly. You should send feedback to Apple about this:

Import wizard does not import the tables
Data Modeler Version 3.1.4.710
I want to create ERD from tables in fusion schema
Opened Data modeler
Selected file -> import -> Data Dictionary
selected the fusion schema -> Next
found no tables listed !!!Strange. I assume you're using a standard ("Basic") Oracle connection. What version is your Oracle database? Is there anything unusual about it (e.g. character set)?
In step 3 of the Data Dictionary Import Wizard, the Tables should all be listed on the Tables tab, and the Views on the Views tab. Do the Users appear on the Users tab?
Are there any error messages in the log file? (This is normally file datamodeler.log in folder datamodeler\datamodeler\log.)
