Import, wma to acc?

I'm trying to import some songs from a flash drive to my library that are in wma format.  I follow the steps:
iTunes>Edit>Add to Library>(New window opens)Selected the flash drive>selected the folder the album is in>selected the album folder>selected the song>Open
Worked for one album but now won't work at all.
What do I need to do?  Is there an app I need?
Thanks.

it used to work seemlessly with Leapard and snow Leopard but Mr. Apple decided ONCE again to make our lives more difficult.  I'm very upset at Apple for taking away stuff and having us spending money (on thrid party software) when we didn't have to before.
Here's a trick:
download the "Switch" application - please read the CNET review
http://download.cnet.com/Switch-Audio-Converter/3000-2140_4-10703967.html
you open your file in Switch
then you convert it in the format you want it to be
you will find your converted file in your "music files"
then you can drag your new "music file" to iTunes
Hope this helps

  • How do i convert wma to acc on mac?

I have a file from my old HP  PC with all of my music in it.  I need to convert it from wma to acc format.  Which free application works best?

The free program is iTunes. Click iTunes/Preferences/General, and here you'll find Import settings, which you can set for ACC. Once done, from the main iTunes menu, click, File/Add to Library.

I have the macbook pro and itunes. when i add files from my harddrive -wma files , there is no change in the screen- nothing gets added to the library. Mp3 gets added. My import settings for cd are set in convert to aac files. I am not copying files added to ipod again to storage. I am using my hard drive as the location for itunes media files .

iTunes for Windows can import unprotected WMA files but iTunes for Mac cannot import WMA files of any type.

  • Basic question about importing wma files

Hi, I have a basic question about importing wma files. I ripped some cd's on a Mindows computer using Media Player, but now want to copy them to my Mac and use them in iTunes on my Mac. when I use Import in iTunes, nothing happens and I cant even seem to copy them one by one using the Music folder.
    Can someone help me?
    thanks

iTunes for Mac doesn't support .wma files.
If you can use a PC to convert them, you can use one of many freeware applications. Google for 'wma to mp3'.
For the Mac there's the shareware program EasyWMA that can convert them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Importing .wma

    Hello,
with iTunes for Windows I was able to import .wma files of my digital voice recorder. It doesn't work with iTunes for Mac.
Is there a way to make iTunes for Mac to import .wma files?

I stumbled across a method of converting unprotected wma files to aiff files using free tools you probably already have.
If you have iMovie HD 6 and Flip4Mac, then you can drag a wma into an iMovie project and it and Flip4Mac will convert the file to an aiff. You can find it within the media folder in the movie project.
You can then let iTunes convert the aiff to the compressed format of your choice. Since you're going through a double conversion, I'm assuming there will be some loss of quality. I couldn't tell the difference in the stuff I did, but your ear may be more demanding.

  • Importing wma files to iTunes

Back when i was a PC user, i copied all the music i love off my CDs onto my PC (don't recall what program I used to do so) and then threw away the CDs. When i converted to Mac, many of these songs didn't import to iTunes. They appear to be .wma files. Since i've already thrown away the CDs, is there any way to keep/play my music in iTunes or am i out of luck? It'll cost me a fortune to re-buy all these songs one at a time.

Dude im so sorry to hear abt that, but you did de wrong thing in the right time "BECAUSE"
THE Windows Media Player is now avaliable for MAC users!!!
if the WMA Files dont convert to the ACC format or doesnt work in iTunes... getting WM Player (for MAC) Will be ur best bet!
    you find it on http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/

  • Split & Import WMA file from windows to mac

I have bought several wma files online that are rights managed that I want to play on my ipod. A few days ago, I found a workaround to getting them from the internet to my ipod - download file on the windows side of my mac (I have XP installed and use boot camp), play for a few seconds on the windows media player to acquire the license, burn to CD and then go back to the mac side and use CD to download songs to itunes, then to ipod. Works great except for this problem:
I just bought a file that is too large to get onto an audio CD. I am trying to use software to split the file but I think the license is preventing me from doing this. Anyone have a suggestion?

I'm not sure that solves my problem. I still have to start on the windows side to acquire the license by playing the file a few seconds on a windows media player. Then I have to burn the file onto an audio CD in order to import it into itunes on the mac side. My problem is the size of the file is preventing me from burning it onto a CD. I'm not sure how a program like Switch would help.

  • Importing WMA files- turn into mpeg 4 files- Help Please!

I've just installed iTunes for the first time, and while converting my WMA files, it has turned them into mpeg4 files. How can i turn them back to mp3 files????

If the "Kind" says "MPEG Audio" then what you have are MP3 files.
The format to which WMAs will be converted is controlled by the setting in Edit > Preferences > General > Import Settings > Import Using.

  • ITunes 8.2 refuses to import *.wma files

I have a grand total of 15 songs in WMA format. I know that when I was using iTunes on Windows, and even likely on Mac before, I had no issues - they were converted into AAC (I got the little message box and all). Now they don't react - I tried adding them to the library, dragging them to iTunes, and opening them via iTunes - with no result whatsoever (not even an error message). They work as they open without problems via Quick Time.
Any ideas how to fix this?

iTunes for Mac will not import nor play Windows Media Audio files. QuickTime will play them if you have the freeware Flip4Mac codec installed, but that won't work in iTunes. You may be able to convert them with EasyWMA or with QuickTime Pro and the Flip4Mac import codec (not the free version).

Peabody, for me, Adapter is the ticket, and a free one at that. Quick, easy to use, nice interface and very flexible in terms of formats, destinations, etc. Also converts video. Been using it for a month and love it.

  • How to Import WMA files into i Tunes?

Can anyone suggest how to import my Wma files from Windows Media Player on a PC into iTunes on my iBook?
    Many Thanks!

ITunes will not import nor play Windows Media Audio files. If they're not copy-protected, though, you may be able to convert them with EasyWMA (freeware) or Sound Converter ($10.00 US).

  • Converting WMA to ACC

I recently moved from PC to Mac, and I have about 5GB of files that I am unable to add to itunes or sync to my ipod. This is because they are all in WMA format, and I have no idea how to convert them to ACC or MP3. I see the "convert selections to ACC" option in itunes, but itunes wont let me add them to the library to convert the files. Any help?

Is this on your mac or PC. If you are talking about your mac, you will have to seek out a third party solution. WMA converting is a PC only feature.
