Import wmv video question

hi
Can anyone help. After I import wmv video into flash. Then
select "stream from flash video streaming service". I export movie
and create a swf file. Can the movie start from a pause instead of
straight away play the flv file? If press the button play then play
or else pause.
thank

the FLVPlayback component has an autoPlay property. Set this
to false, and your movie will be paused on SWF load.

  • How to import wmv video tracks in Premiere Pro CC on mac?

    Hi,
Is there a way to import wmv video files in premiere without converting them before?
I'm aware, that exporting is another topic, i'm only intrested in importing.
I only found the information, that AME is able to import WMVs after installing Windows Media Player for Mac (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4031104), but is this also possible in the same way for Premiere Pro?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

Were you ever able to find a solution for this? I am working on a project that has some .WMV files and trying to import them in Premiere Pro CC on a Mac. Thanks!

  • Can I Import .WMV videos to my IPOD?

Is this possible? Is yes how just click and drag?
    thanks!

No, not directly. You have to convert it first through a 3rd-party program. The best program i've found is Total Video Converter (just google it), which will convert almost any video type to mp4 (the ipod format).
Unfortunately, you have to pay like 15 bucks for it... or you can download it via torrent. However, be aware that torrenting it is illegal. Oh, and if you do get TVC, for wmv files you have to do something special. when you go to the part that asks what the output file type is, there's an option at the top, you need to select "internal encoders only".

  • How do I import a wmv video from my PC to my Iphone 5S via Itunes?

How do I import a wmv video from my PC to my Iphone 5S via Itunes?

iTunes and the iPhone do not support WMV files. You will first have to convert the video to an MPEG4 or H.264 format video.
Handbrake is free and should be able to do this, see https://handbrake.fr

  • Top clipped when I import a wmv video.  Please Help.

When I import a wmv video into premier elements 9 the top part of the video is clipped.  The video plays fine externally with windows player, and plays in premier but the top is clipped.  This happens for any video I try to import.  The video properties are as follows...798 w x 480 h, 25 frames/sec, 1858 kbps.  I definitely need help with this one, as I cannot even start a project.

In case you are missing the Announcement, it should display
Announcement: Windows Update Causes Display to Be Blacked Out
    Hide Details
MicroSoft has issued an Update for Windows, that is causing problems with Displays. The following is from Talbot McInnis, who tracked down this problem, and offers a fix:
"MS bulliten MS13-057.  Specifically, on XP kb2834904 and on windows 7 kb2803821 is causing a problem
For us, it occurs when decoding WMV9 files.  Not all uses of WMV decoding are affected, but I confirmed that when connecting the WMV decode DLL to a sample grabber for RGB32 video, the frames arrive black on top, so that points directly to decoding internals of the WMV Decode dll.
You can uninstall these windows updates to resolve your problem."
There are several threads on the problem that this Update is causing on the PrE and PrPro Forums, so one can get more details. So far, there is not another fix from either MS, or Adobe.
Also, see this Adobe KB Article: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/wmv-files-corrupted-import-or.h tml
There have been many, many threads on the subject..lots of helpful hints on the matter of deleting the offending Windows Update kb. Major points that were offered include:
    a. for the present, set your Windows Updates so that you require notification for any downloading and installing of them.
    b. if you catch the offending Windows Update kb in Windows Updates Important Updates, then right click that kb and select Hide...that is supposed to block it from further activity.

  • Top half of video is missing on imported WMV files. Running  CS3 & Win XP Professional

Top half of video is missing on imported .WMV  files. I'm running CS3 Adobe Premier Pro with Win XP Professional OS
    Hi all,
I just installed my Adobe Premier Pro CS3 for the very first time. I then IMPORTED a WMV file into the Project Frame and  then Dragged & Dropped it into the Time Line. All the windows (or Frames) Project Frame, Source Frame and the mini-Project Frame show this video with the top half missing. I’m running Win XP Professional with the latest Service Packs installed.
    Please Help.
    Thanks
    Derek

After Searching the net for a while here, I found a solution to the "Half Screen" problem!
The half screen video problems seen while trying to play WMV files in my CS3 Adobe Premiere Pro program seems to have been due to a recent Windows software Security update made to it’s Windows Media Player programming. As soon as I removed that update, my WMV files now show normally within Adobe Premier Pro.
If you wish to uninstall this Windows Patch / Security Update on Win XP Machines:
No#1 Prior to removing/un-installing the file, shut off "Windows Automatic Updates" and set update preferences to manual. Thus in the future you can select which Updates you want to instal (and which one not to instal)  *remember to ignore the KB2834904 update in the future! That is at least until Widows fixes this Security Update / Patch.
    A) Go to "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel
    B) In the Add/Remove Programs, check the "Show Updates" box located at the top of that window
    C) Scroll down to "Windows XP Software Updates" and within that section, scroll down to "Security Update for Windows Media Player" KB2834904 (mine was dated 7-10-2013)
    D) Click on the REMOVE button and re-start your system.
If using Win 7 Operating System: to remove this Patch / Security Update the file to remove is: KB2803821 - In Windows 7, go to "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel, click on the "View installed updates" link in the left sidebar, search for KB 2803821 and click REMOVE.
    Good luck everyone!

  • Re-importing video question

I did a three-hour interview with a subject in my documentary that is spread over three MiniDV tapes. Originally, because of storage constraints I only imported the pieces of the interview that I cared about, and I've since used those clips in my FCPro project.
Now I have a lot more storage, and I'd like to go back and re-import the -entire- thing, all three tapes worth. Is there a way for me to import this video in FCPro 5, then map my earlier clips to this new footage, allowing me to delete all the mini fragments of interview that currently litter my hard drive?
It's a slightly confusing situation...let me know if I can describe it any further.
    Thanks.

Not really. You will have to manually go thru the cut and find those small bits, then open up the main clip and match the timecode. So if the interview started at 1:05:13:10, then you go to that location on the large clip and cut it in.
FCP sees name and duration when it looks at a clip. It cannot relink to the new big clips for the differ in both respects.

  • Cropping my frame n importing my .mpg videos question

hiii... i just made a frame for my videoo(frame by michael).. but once i import it to premiere, its automatically make the frame i made with black background (inside the frame) so how can i crop it? thxxx...
and i found a problem importing mpg videos... why once i import to my premiere pro library, i dont found any audio in these video i have record
    thxxx againnn

For your MPEG source material, what is the CODEC used, and also the specs. on those files? The freeware utility, G-Spot, will give you all of that info.
Also, most file formats, like .AVI, .MPEG and .MOV are but "wrappers," and can contain all sorts of material inside. This ARTICLE will give you some more background on those "wrappers."
For getting your video into your frame, Harm's way is about as good, and as simple as it gets.
One could also use Corner Pin to "skew" the video (really a PiP - Picture in Picture), as could Track Matte Keying, but the latter is quite involved, and would require some reading, and practice. Go with Harm's method. You'll love it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Can Quicktime Pro version 7 import the WMV video files?

With my previous Quicktime Pro version 6, I couldn't import the .wmv files. Is there any enhancement on Quicktime Pro version 7 to support .wmv files import?

QT 7 still doesn't import .wmv files. There are some plug-ins for Mac systems but so far no one has mentioned any for Windows. Since sometimes people with Macs post in this group (and you don't list your platform in your message) I will include a link to one of the companies that makes such plug-ins for Mac:

  • Cannot import WMV files, converting to FLV reduces volume

I've got an MP4 video that I can import into PowerPoint/Presenter just fine, but it fails when I try to import a WMV video.
I've tried using AME to convert to FLV (but don't think I should have to, should I?), but then the volume is not as loud as the original WMV is.
Another related question ... are there any options for the video controller/scrubber that Presenter adds to video? If I insert a video natively in PowerPoint, it adds a much more elegant controller under the video. Presenter puts a big, clunky one on top.

The volume change is most likely due to a setting in AME. I would agree that bringing in a non-flash video in to Presenter is not ideal. This is because the inline video converter is too simple for my taste, but it can do an ok job if in a pinch. I know there are some good free video conversion tools out there, but I have always used (and liked) the AVS video converter.
As to the video controller/scrubber, I'm not sure what you are seeing. With the published version of your presentation, the video should be controlled with the presentation play bar. The only time I see any other play bar is when you do a slide show (F5) preview of the presentation. But this is not representative of the output of Presenter.

  • I have a an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes. All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem.

I have an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes.
All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem. The movie in question is not 'corrupt' as you can watch it in iMovie direct from the SD card but as soon as you try to import it, it  just says 'error'. iIve tried moving the file to an external drive ( and other variations on this theme) then importing but have had no luck.
    Can anyone please help me.

    The mystery remains....
Thanks for the pointers. The file type is .mts (a proprietry sony one).
I have now found some video converter software (Wondershare and iSkysoft) at a cost. Either will convert this file for me into .mp4. This I can then import into iMovie without any problems. I've checked this on the trial versions and it worked well but without paying am left with a giant watermark in the video
The mystery (which I still havent solved) is why did 20 other .mts files import fine and then this one not?
If you could point me in the direction of some free .mts converter software that would be the cherry on the cake.
    Thanks

I would be glad for the opportunity to customize a Premiere Elements 12 answer to your Premiere Elements 12 issue.
But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
    a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
    b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
    c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.

  • When I import a video from my PC into Itunes, it flips upside down, how do i fix that?

I created a video on my PC using Power Director 12, and it plays correctly. So, i imported the video into the iTunes app on the same PC, and in the viewing window, the video is upside down, when i copy it to the iPad it is upside down. I see posts concerning videos that were filmed upside down with the ipad, but that is not the case, this video played perfectly fine until it was imported into the itunes application, never leaving my PC. the file type is Mp4. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who knew how to prevent this from happening? or just why it is happening?
    thanks everyone for any help.

I'm not sure of your question.
Are you asking how to use Photoshop?
Or are you asking for the dimensions of video iMovie uses?
It edits in 720P HD, which is 1280x720.
You can make it a bit bigger so you can zoom in.
Much bigger then this is a waste of time.

  • Can I import a video from Final Cut Pro

I'm doing a :45 sec. video clip in Final Cut and Kinemac for a local church. They want pre-recorded backround music that fades out at the end. Can I import this video into GB for the music..
    Thanks.
    NN

What do you mean by "this video"? The FCP file? No, but any rendered version: Show the video track in GB and pull the video over.
The question is: Why would you want to do this? If it's just about fading out the music, as you write, FCP will happily do that for you.
