  • CS3 Imports bad Characters from Word

Not the first time I've had to ask this...
I placed a Word Doc -  Remove Styles & Formatting, Retain Character Styles. Several characters have just completely fouled up. As near as I can tell, CS4 and CS2 do not experience the problem. I have highlighted three examples, but the story is chock full of the same problem.
I have identical results on 2 PC's, different OS's and one Mac, 10.4.n, ID patched to 5.0.4 on all stations. Can anybody shed some light on this?
or check how this file imports into CS3
    https://acrobat.com/#d=lA3hlJjfiPZnuSK*iWYhNg

OK, that cleared the bad glyphs swapping out, fixed it. The Word document opened as a Compatability Mode in 2007, it's properties are 2003-2007 document, Template being Normal.dotm (I've never looked, but is .dotm unusual?)
Is there a semi safe Workflow change I should know about; many Word files place correctly, but this is not the first time this has bit me; if these bad glyphs occur late in an article, I have missed it.

  • Adobe Album Import (bad)

I currently use Adobe Album 2 to manage my photography collection. I really like it, it's fast, easy to organize and allow sme to set up tagging so it's to find and export images. perfect. Except that Adobe has dropped the product.
Why? If anything strip out all the features from Album except the photo management! That's all peopel really want. Stop adding features and just create an organizer.
Is Lightroom supposed to be the professional photo management tool for Adobe? All I want is a good and fast tool to manage my library. I don't care about editing my family photos and most of the other features I see in there. That's why I have photoshop. I ONLY want good photo management with tagging ability. Speed is important.
I guess if Lightroom is all Adobe has to offer then I'll go with it. I tried importing my Adobe Album collection into Lightroom but it only partially worked. All the keyword tags came over, but most of the tags didn't have any images under them. Only a small percentage of photos actually came over linked correctly.
I'm certainly not going to switch programs if I can't import my Adobe Album collection. What's up??? You'd think Adobe would have an easy migration to the new software?

If Album works for you and you want to upgrade, the Album upgrade path is actually Photoshop Elements. After Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 and the Starter Album 3.0, Adobe incorporated it into the Photoshop Elements software as the Photoshop Elements Organizer. It will import your Photoshop Album 2.0 catalog with no problem and give added support for new RAW images with the updated Adobe Camera RAW. Lightroom is and never was meant to be an upgrade path for Album. It is a completely new product for a completely different type of use and user.
(By the way, I do agree with you that Lightroom, if it was going to include an "Import from Elements" option should have made it completely compatible . . . I've spent about 5-7 hours "fixing" my imported catalog and still have some problems that I am currently living with at the moment).

  • How to import Data (For Dummies) into a table

I have a excel spreadsheet that is an export of an oracle database table. I want to now import that data into another Oracle Database (same table and format). What is the best way to do that. Someone told me t ouse SQL*Loader, but that is not as straightforward as I had hoped. I tried to use access, but I got an invalid argument on one attempt, and a Reserved Error (-2007) on another attempt.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Now it seemed to run w/o the INSERT error this time, but now when I look at the log, i see the following errors:

  • BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST for changing header data

    Hello Experts,
I'm using Method PROCESS_HEADER in Badi ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST in order to change some header data.
I want to change header data depending on the partner data which are on header level.
It works fine as long as there are data changed in the header or item level and not only on the partner screen.
The method in this Badi isn't processed if only partner data are changed. But for me it is necessary to set a special field on the header depending on the partner data.
    Regards,
    Sven

    Hi,
Firstly, for changing Header data without any INSERT/UPDATE?MODIFY statement, badi - ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST  will not be useful.
As method you mentioned has no header parameters under CHANGING / EXPORTING clause.
You can use the badi which has the parametrs you want in either change/ Export mode. It can be defined under table also.
Below is the list of important badis gettign called, however none of them contains header values in change/export clause.
    ME_CCP_ACTIVE_CHECK
    MD_STOCK_TRANSFER
    ME_DEFINE_CALCTYPE
    ME_PO_PRICING
    ME_FIELDSTATUS_STOCK
    ME_COMMITMENT_STO_CH
    ME_COMMITMNT_PARKING
    ME_INFOREC_SEND
    ME_CHECK_SOURCES
    ME_PURCHDOC_POSTED
Instead you can use enhacement MM06E005  Customer fields in purchasing document.
Create a project under Transaction CMOD.
    Assign enhancement as Project component.
You'll find Exit 012. At time of save you can change header im_ekko based on you parterner data tab.
    Regards,
    Amee.

  • Photo recovery when iPhoto crashed while deleting imported images

I was importing images into iPhoto when it finished and asked if I wanted to delete originals or not. I chose to delete originals. As it was finishing the import/deleting the images, iPhoto crashed. I could see the images right before the crash. Upon rebooting iPhoto, the images were gone from my card and not showing up under last import. Where can I find them??? Thanks!

    Greetings,
Sorry to hear about the lost pictures.
My guess would be that there was something wrong with the import process (bad data / corrupt media card in camera, low battery power during import, bad connection with camera, etc.)
Try finding the images on the computer using the File > Find in the Finder as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1995 (maybe they just got misplaced / not fully imported into iPhoto).
Use the picture in that article as an example.  Rather than having "Kind" "Any".  Choose "Kind" "Image".  This will locate any picture at all on your computer.  You can then copy and paste the images (if you can find them) into a new folder and then import that folder into iPhoto.
If you haven't used the camera since you deleted the pictures there is a good chance you can recover them from the camera using data recovery software.
    Here are a few examples:
    http://joesoft.com/products/klix.php
    http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php
    http://www.macintosh-data-recovery.com/
    http://www.subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?main_page=product_info&products _id=1
You can contact a local Apple Authorized Provider to see if they offer data recovery services: http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/
There are many nationwide / worldwide data recovery companies out there.  Here are a few examples:
    http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com
    http://www.drivesaversdatarecovery.com/
    http://www.totalrecall.com/
Consider using these best practice tips to avoid or minimize the impact of issues in the future:
Do not delete the images off your camera until you have imported your images to the image management program of your choice (like iPhoto), and then backed up your images (like with TimeMachine)
Reformat the camera's media card using the camera itself between uses (check your camera's manual for how to do this).
Ensure your camera has a full charge on the battery before you import (Or run off of AC if possible).
Ensure the date and time on the camera are correct before importing.
If you are using a media card reader and are getting regular failures, try using a different reader or the camera itself (The same is true about importing directly from the camera. Try a reader instead.)
Plug the camera directly into the computer with a solid connection, no loose cables.  Don't use a hub.
Alternate between multiple media cards during photo shoots (trips, etc) so that if one card goes bad (they are just little bits of plastic after all) you don't lose the entire shoot.
    Best of luck to you.

  • Multiple use badi

    hi guru,
    i am new in  abap,
if we have 20 badi's using multiple implimentation.which one trigger first.it is necessary to deactive all badi before running new badi name of some single use ,multiple, filter dependent badi in crm.

    Hi,
As per my understanding, your query is this - for a single BAdI there might be multiple implementation and which one will be triggered first.
As per SAP, there is no guarantee of the order of the call of the BAdI Implementation, but only thing that can be guaranteed is that all the active implementation will be called. You don't need to deactivate any Badi before implementing your BAdI.
I hope this answers your question.
Some important BadI's of SAP CRM are - ORDER_SAVE, COM_PARTNER_BADI, etc.
    Thanks,
    Samantak

  • HT5622 Why im having bad tym down loading in ny app store?

Please help cause i cannot down load anymore in my app. Store why? In settings i cannot open app. Store?

Safe mode: Never used "safe mode" on a Mac or any other Unix based system, I'll look on how and try, then report results.
Another User: No... frankly, I have only one i use and one more i created for such questions as someone suggested that as diagnostic step to some other random problem in the distant past. Dont have a clue on it's password, but i can do something and try that too.
ExFat .... yes. I have my iTunes library on an external hard drive. it's only formatted in MS-DOS (FAT32) so i can use it in more places than just my Mac, if I ever feel the need to. Otherwise I would have likely formatted with something Mac likes better to eat.
So, in thought, I figured I can live without my Music, TV and Movies being in Spotlight as I use iTunes to access it anyway, no need for two databases of the same data. I've just placed the drive in the Privacy list in the Spotlight settings.... as of right now, the message reading "6/25/14 9:13:07.041 AM mdworker[64588]: (Warning) Import: Bad path:", has stopped.
Kinda seems at this point the message above as an issue may have been resolved with that Spotlight privacy setting change however, I am noticing in my logs, even BEFORE the settings change, THESES messages had been hanging out for a bit:
    6/30/14 7:51:39.261 PM iTunes[27164]: Entered:_AMMuxedDeviceDisconnected, mux-device:1876
    6/30/14 7:51:39.262 PM iTunes[27164]: Entered:__thr_AMMuxedDeviceDisconnected, mux-device:1876
6/30/14 7:51:39.262 PM iTunes[27164]: tid:2465f - Mux ID not found in mapping dictionary
    6/30/14 7:51:39.262 PM iTunes[27164]: tid:2465f - Can't handle disconnect with invalid ecid
The last occurrence was about 2 minutes BEFORE the change that stopped the mdworker message.

  • Extremely slow Time Machine backup for only 4 Gb

I have a WD Passport for Mac, which is only a month old, so is in prestine condition.  This is not the first backup, but the past few times I have tried to back up my data it takes hours for just a few megabytes.  I am running a late 2013 model of the RD Macbook Pro, with OSX 10.9, obviously.
I have tried restarting in Safe Mode and trying again, but that does not fix it.  I have also Verified the disk in Disk Utility and it came out clean.  I believe the issue is related to this constant message I get in Console: "mdworker: (Warning) Import: Bad path"

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message that corresponds to an abnormal backup. Now
CLEAR THE WORD "Starting" FROM THE TEXT FIELD
so that all messages are showing, and scroll back in the log to the time you noted. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the text field.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Some personal information, such as the names of your files, may be included—anonymize before posting.

  • Magic Mouse will not pair

I have installed fresh batteries, tried repeatedly to connect via BT with no results. I get the no mouse found message. It had been working great until I booted up from OS10.4 on another drive. Suggestions please? My DLink BT module is lit, then goes out.

Also, I checked the Console when the pair failed and got this message:
11/11/11 11:05:01.640 AM Bluetooth Setup Assistant: Pairing failed with 'Dirty Mouse': error 0x22
    11/11/11 11:05:02.121 AM mdworker: (Warning) Import: Bad path:/   /StoreData
    If that helps...

  • Spotlight is CONSTANTLY indexing my hard drive

    Mavericks Server 10.9.5.
Whenever I use Spotlight, I virtually always get "Indexing <my hard drive name>", and "Estimating indexing time".
If I put in a search term, it often works, but still with the "Estimating indexing time" barber pole at the bottom of the results window.
I have tried all the known solutions with no effect. The problem has persisted through multiple OS updates.
Possible clue: I notice a LOT (like about 5 every second) of lines like this in the System Log:
7:49:533 AM mdworker: (Warning) Import: Bad path:
(other than the timestamp, they are all exactly like this).

Safari Web Content can build up over time.  You could try doing Safari>Reset Safari. I check every item in the list except "Saved names and Passwords" which would otherwise be a pain to re-enter for everything.
Note also that unlike SL, Lion does not quit the app when you click on the x, so maybe you have very many lingering in memory. This should not make a difference as normally the memory manager copes with it, but just maybe a third party app is not letting go as it should.

  • Mac Pro Late (2013) - 3 Hard boots before able to login?

I have been having some issues when booting up or waking my Mac Pro Late (2013). The pattern seems to change but the cause seems to be how the mac commits to memory the setup of all attached items before shutting down or going to sleep.
An example: I turned off the machine (shutting down from the menu). The attached G-Dock gets turned off after shutdown. On reboot the G-Dock is turned off. This seemed to have prevented the machine from booting. It was frozen at bootup. Three reboots later I realized to turn the G-Dock on and the machine fully booted.
Another example I unmount the G-Dock drives, Shut down the G-Dock and than turn off the machine. On reboot with the G-Dock shut down the mac hangs again on bootup. Three reboots later I have disattached the G-Dock and three external USB drives. I have concluded the USB drives were the cause since the G-Dock was turned off before shutting down the mac.
What I have also noticed is that if anything changes after the machine is asleep or shutdown. The waking up / reboot gets messed up and the only way to fix this is to either have everything exactly as it was before reboot or disconnect all attachments and hard boot fresh.
Is there a way to turn off this option the mac does when shutting down which commits to memory the configuration of the hardward. It makes reboots a pain mostly with external drives.

I've not tried exporting with Premiere but with After Effects on my identical Mac Pro also using istat menus, I rarely if ever see the 2nd GPU spin up. I'm exporting right now for example and:
makes me wonder if this is infact an issue with Istat menus or if the 2nd gpu really isnt being utilized.

  • Time machine backup problem with new MacPro

On my new MacPro (6 core, 32gb, 1TB ssd) I am trying to do my initial Time Machine backup. The MacPro has 350 GB of files on it. When I start Time Machine it shows that it is backing up 355 GB of data onto the 4 TB LaCie drive and the time to complete is about 20 minutes. (The extrnal HD is excluded from the backup list). When it nears the end of the 355 gb backup all of a sudden it just starts increasing both the number of gbs copying and number of gbs left to copy (both numbers just start going up incrementally together) way beyond the initial 355 gbs - I've stopped it at 910 GBs several times. Tried different external hard drives, restarts etc.
Any ideas what is going on?
    Thanks

  • Captuiring HDV straight into iMovie from Canon HV20?

Is it possible to do a long capture straight into iMovie on a G5 iMac?
I know we can do DV easily, but was wondering about the AIC/HDV issue.
Thanks for any insight I can pass on to students before they try it,
    Rosco in California

"..Does video shot on an HV20 have to be imported through an HV20? Or can I import by some other means?.."
You can import via some other camera which can play the same system you recorded with. In other words, you could import an HDV (hi-def) 30fps recording made with your Canon by putting that tape into a Sony HDV camcorder and importing it from the Sony.
However, if the Sony can't make sense of your 24fps recording (..and Sonys have their own way of "manufacturing" 24fps, by taking various fields from different video frames..) then it might import badly ..or may replay at twice the normal speed.
If you connect the camera, click on the apple logo at top-left of your screen and choose 'About This Mac' and then click on 'More Info...' and choose 'FireWire' in the left-hand column of 'System Profiler' ..does your camera show up there? If not, it may be that the FireWire port on your Canon isn't working properly ..or maybe you've a bad FireWire cable. I don't have an HV20, so I can't suggest any other ideas, sorry ..but use Search Discussions at top-right of this page to find out if others have had - and solved - this problem.

  • Problems with sqlldr, creating .ctl file

Hi I am trying to load data from a .csv file into an oracle table. I have been successful with loading some .csv files but at this point I am stuck in loading one .csv file that creates incorrect rows.
The .csv file has rows commencing on a newline, with columns seperated by the delimiter ','. Unfortunately some values in the .csv file contain newline characters leaving blank lines in the .csv file then continuing on with a row on the next line. e.g.
    "foo", "foofoo", "foofoo", "lalalala
    lallalallala", "foo", "foo"
Does anyone know what is missing from my .ctl file below so that it accurately reads in the correct values. Also delimiters ',' are present inside values e.g. "foo, foo". Does the optionally enclosed by statement below ingore those cases which I want it to?
    OPTIONS (SKIP=1)
    LOAD DATA
    BADFILE 'import.bad'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE tablename
FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," optionally enclosed by '"'
    --columns
    Thanks

Can you get the data supplied to you without the newline characters in the strings? It would make it a lot easier.Unfortunately not as this is an assignment. I also tried the method of converting to a tab csv and adjusting the .ctl file respectively with the same result. Some records are perfect but others are not and I can not for the life of me pinpoint why. I am new to this and I can just tell like you guys have assured me of that newlines contained in values are ugly. But regardless im open to suggets if anyone has any.
Thank you greatly for your help too, its always appreciated.
