Hi. I bought some years ago an HP dv5-1110el with Windows Vista 32-bit.
I updated it first to Win7, than to Win8, without having problems or issues.
Last Saturday I installed Win10 Technical Preview on the PC. Today I tried to update drivers. Then, I updated BIOS. When I was updating BIOS with an HP software (Insyde? I don't remember so good...) a Blue Screen of Death came. The error was CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.

The computer didn't shut down, so I removed the battery.
When I restarted it the BIOS didn't start and the monitor remained black.
Now every time I start it, the BIOS and the OS don't start and I can't use the PC.
HOW CAN I RESTORE THE BIOS THO THE PREVIOUS STATE/SETTINGS?

Ciao gente. Qualche anno fa ho acquistato un HP dv5-1110el con Windows Vista 32-bit preinstallato.
L'ho aggiornato prima a Win7 e poi a Win8 senza avere problemi o malfunzionamenti di sorta.
Sabato scorso vi ho installato sopra Win10 Technical Preview. Nono ho avuto alcun problema finchè oggi non ho aggiornato i drivers. dopo, ho provato ad aggiornare il BIOS con un programma fornito dalla HP, che credo si chiamasse Insyde, o qualcosa del genere. Mentre stavo aggiornando il BIOS col software è comparsa la tanto temuta schermata blu di morte con l'errore CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.

Il computer non reagiva alla pressione dei tasti, nè si spegneva come promesso invece dalla schermata, così ho rimosso la batteria.
Quando l'ho fatto ripartire, il BIOS semplicemente non si è avviato nonostante le luci e la ventola funzionassero e lo schermo è rimasto nero.
Adesso ogni volta che provo ad accenderlo nè il BIOS nè ovviamente il sistema operativo partono, il pc non reagisce a<lla pressione dei pulsanti e quindi non posso in alcun modo usare il dispositivo.
COME POSSO FARE PER RIPORTARE IL BIOS ALLE IMPOSTAZIONI DI FABBRICA O MEGLIO ANCORA ALLO STATO PRECEDENTE?

Problem in print out with English characters (THANGSAN font)

Hi Experts!!
I have created a smartform and print program which should actually print some Thai characters and English characters too. I created a smartstyle and have some 10 paragraph formats and are all have THANGSAN font. So, I am printing all the thai and english characters in THANGSAN font only.
When print preview is seen, the output is very fine, but when being printed, the thai characters are appearing fine but the english characters' font is being changed to somehting else (courier or arial). Why is this happening so? Because of this, all the output is being merged and looking very weird.
The smartform is created in EN and is translated to all languages. All user has logged on to SAP in EN language.
Can somebody please help me out with whether the problem is with THANGSAN or the printer?
P.S. The smartform is actually similar to the standard script Z_RVINVOICE01 in which only THANGSAN is used.

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

I am having a BSOD problem with my win 7 pro 32 bit desktop.

I am facing google update problem since eight months. Two days back I uninstall all google products. last night I have a continuous BSOD probelm for four times with error pointing to a system file Wdf01000.sys . Any help to get rid of the problem?

We do need the actual log file (called a DMP file) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were
loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.

Import table - problems with date

Hi,
I want to import an table from text file with date column. The format in file is 12.01.2000 13:59:12.
When importing the preview of column value is 2000-12-01 13:59:12. I've then added the format YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS. After import all rows with date of year 1999 or below are failed.
Does anybody know why and how can I solve this problem?

Hi Dimitri,
yes all rows with date of year 2000 or higher are correct. It shows me the YYYY-DD-MM HH24:MI format if it recognizes the column as date. Somehow I get it worked that it is recognized as varchar, changed to date and set format to DD.MM.YYYY HH24:MI. So it was imported fine.

There are a few things that are confusing in your question.
As far as I know, you dont have to install Time Machine on this OS as it is already installed for you. You only need to connect a hard drive to your computer via firewire or usb, click on the Time Machine icon, Open Time Machine Preference in the drop down menu and select a disk: your connected hard drive.
You can of course reformat this connected device, partition it into a few volumes to organise data if you so wish.
I find it strange that your mac's hard drive is divided into two volumes... perhaps this was created through bootcamp?
You can access the configuration of your hd through Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities.
Clicking on one of the icons on the right hand panel will bring the details of the contents of your hardDrive and volumes. From there you can decide to erase a partition, reformat etc....
If your hd contains more than one volume, and one of them is empty, you could decide to remove it. Back up all your important data before doing so.

Importing footage results in blacked out clips with only lo-fi audio

I have iMovie '08 7.1.4 (585), and I'm running into some trouble importing footage from my Canon Vixia HF20.
I'm trying to import 1080i footage from a full drive (30 GBs or so), and after a "successful" import sequence, half of my clips are blacked out, with only a low sample rate stream of audio present from the clips.
I've done this import about five times now, in different configurations. The USB connection is directly to my iMac (3.06 GhHz w/ OS 10.6.2), and everything is straight forward. I just can't get iMovie to recognize the clips.
I've successfully imported footage before - it just seems like the sheer amount is throwing iMovie off. Any suggestions?

I suspected that as well. I've tried manual and automatic importing, but not in smaller chunks. I'll give that a go in the future....
In the meantime, I read elsewhere of an individual who backs up his flash drive camera content as whole disk images, which then are imported to iMovie for editing. Sounds like he had better luck w/ a disk image - plus the use of disk space is a bit more in your favor, versus iMovie's archiving scheme...
I'll report back with my findings. Thanks for your suggestion.

Crystal Reports kicks me out with a crw32.exe has encountered a problem ...

I have not been successful in getting Crystal Reports XI Rel 2 to work for me, except for one very simple report that accesses one table and simply prints out all fields. When I try to link tables and do something more complicated, it kicks me out with a 'crw32.exe has encountered a problems and needs to close error'.
I am running Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP3 and using the CR Informix ODBC Driver 5.3 to access data from an Informix DB.

I downloaded and was able to write a report off the Access test DB. So - I went back and connected to Informix, wrote a report that connected 6 tables and now I get a syntax error (it has not kicked me out yet, though!). I get -201 error with no explanation. Here is the sql generated by CR:

Itunes 64 bit wont install on my Dell XPS due to Windows Installer problems. Can somebody help me out with this?

I have Windows 7 home premium, running on a Dell XPS 15, with 64 bit OS, and when i went to install itunes for my new phone, it would almost install, but then say that it couldn't install due to issues with windows Installer. has anybody had this happen to them? can anybody help me out with this?

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware). Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths. For example:
Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad. In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result. Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind. The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

Backup to computer first and sync Apps to iTunes first!
Restore in recovery mode will work, be persistent and retry
Recovery restore challenges
- computer didn't detect recovery iphone, attempted and failed 3 times
rebooted computer then recovery restore worked
- recovery restore was successful, unlocked, and iMessage/Facetime, Find My Iphone, ALL WORKS!
Restore from backup challenges
* Make sure you have plenty of harddrive space!
- have to restore first then restore from backup, i did this incorrectly by restoring from backup and the find my iphone feature got stuck forcing me to recovery restore
- each restore from backup attempt will copy the original backup and create another backup folder. My original was about 10gb, so it copied another 10gb onto my computer's harddrive
- when i restore from backup, my computer ran out of space and errored out/failed.
- I tried again to restore from backup then figured out where the backup data folder was and tried to transfer to external harddrive but not quick enough and failed again.
- finally cleared the extra backup data files and restore from backup was successfull
Missing apps from restore from backup
- Downloaded all my missing Apps from APP store
- I have 300+ apps and there are only 15 screen scrolls, have to organize before apps will populate and load, very difficult to organize now. Wished I had sync Apps first.
Conclusion
This process took me literally 20+ hours to correct and will probably take me few more hours to organize the apps into their respective folders...
At least I got everything to work. Hope this helps!

You can do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store for a fee, get a 3rd party site to repair it, sell it for parts, or get a new one.

My HP 1310 series, model1315 has a problem. Every copy comes out with a heavy green tint.

I have cleaned the cartridge, put in a new cartridge, and the "self help" report only has three bars showing, black, green and yellow. It appears it should have six bars of color. All copies come out with a green tint. Any ideas?

It appears your cartridge is out of magenta ink. Is this an original HP cartridge or a reman.refill? If the former check the cartridge warranty as shown here. If the latter see here, then contact your supplier for a replacement or refund.
