Important- Duplication of Sequences.

Hi folks,
Using Sequences: We create different sequences corresponding to different locations for a document, say AR Invoice (due to statutary requirement). eg. an Invoice at a location should start from 1 at the begenning of a financial year.
Question:   IF I HAVE CREATED 5 different sequences for 5 different locations for AR Invoice then do I need to create again 5 new sequences to start from 1 at the begenning of every year...............keeping in mind that I may have to do posting in previous FY too.
Cheers,
Jimmy...

Hi
Yes u have to create five new sequence for every year....

  • How to import an image sequence in CS4

Hello!  I am working on a big project today and I'm importing images in by the hundreds.  Is there an easy way to import an image sequence into the timeline?  I remember there use to be with earlier versions of flash but I can't figure it out for CS4 - Luckily these images are named sequentially.  Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Ah that was the problem!  i needed to import to stage instead of library -facepalm- thank you so much!  you've just saved me hours and hours of work!  now if i can just get it to import to stage without flash crashing

  • Import of "image sequence" grays out when you select multiple jpg in Premier CC

It worked jus fine untill a few days ago after the CC update. I even reset the number sequencing on my camera to try a test set of picture.  no matter what I do the "image sequence" check box grays out as soon as i click on multiple jpgs.
any one ever have this occur?

As joe bloe says, select only a single image file to enable the Image Sequence checkbox. Once you select multiple files, then the importer is set to import as multiple single still images. FYI, you can also select any file (other than the frst), if you wish to import a shorter range of files (eg: select 0040 to import an image sequence of frame 40 and on)

  • Importing multiple image sequences simultaneously

    Quick but pesky workflow question.
I'm often given a number of folders, each of which contains an image sequence (usually TIFF or DPX) representing a single clip. Usually the project starts by painstakingly importing the several dozen sequences by hand.
Is there any way to import all the sequences at once?

    You could also try this...
Put all of the sequences in one folder.
Then import the sequences into AE.
When you go to import, open the folder containing the sequences and select all the files, or at least one file from each sequence. (for me its easier to just hit "Ctrl + a" to select all of them)
Make sure to put a check next to the "Multiple Sequences" option and you're done!
After Effects will sort them all out for you(assuming each sequence has a unique base name)

  • Importing After effects sequences to premier pro with camera and effects

    Hi there,
I'm gonna try n put this across as best as I can. I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE. Can somebody please help me?
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
Thanks for any help in advance.
    Cheers,
    Nikhita
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.

Every production house in the world that is working on more than one project uses external storage for their video files. As long as the drive name and path do not change you have no problems.
Lossless or nearly lossless means that. No visible reduction in quality. That's why every production house that knows what they are doing uses production codecs in their workflow. Production codecs range from uncompressed (which very few use) to Avid, Black Magic Design, ProRez and a host of other specialized codecs. Jpeg2000 and png QuickTime can store alpha channels as well as a bunch of other 3rd party codecs.
The way you start loosing quality is to use highly compressed formats like H.264 or MPEG or AVCHD in your production pipeline. It is usually OK to start with these codecs as original footage if the camera you used only offers these options, but any use of a delivery format in the production pipeline for anything but delivery is not a good idea.

  • Can data pump handle export/import of a sequence explicitly?

Is it possible to just export/import a database sequence explicitly using data pump.
I know we can export/import sequence by exporting/importing the user in which it is defined.
However I am looking for a way to export/import individual sequnces without having to export/import the entire user.
    Thanks

Hi, you can use the INCLUDE clause into expdp command, with this option you can specified the object for the export and import process. You can review the next documentation for more information about this topic.

  • .psd will not import as a sequence

I am using FCP 6.0 / Studio 2. I am trying to import a .psd file into FCP. The file does not import as a sequence. The file imports as a clip file. What is the solution?

I saved the file in Layers. I am using file specifications/recommendation from Ken Stones site for savings Photoshop files for import into FCP. The file stills come in as a clip and not a layered sequence.

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence grayed out in Adobe Dynamic Link

I'm using PPro CC, and encore CS6. I have created a finished sequence in Premiere Pro, and I want to bring it into Encore. When I go to -> file -> adobe dynamic link, the premiere pro sequence option is grayed out. Why?

OK, well that explains it. Does that mean that if I import a PProCC sequence into encore,
It means you can't import the sequence itself. You must export a file of some kind from PR/AME, then import that. And yes, there is no way to get your CC projects to update automatically to Encore. You must export a fresh file. You can use "replace asset" and such to simply changing the file.
I went to the link above, and was somewhat distressed to see that the industry is moving away from physical media in favor of streaming. Won't happen in my lifetime, but a world without books and records and DVDs and CDs, etc.? Scarey!
Adobe needed some excuse, and that was theirs. There is clearly a very significant number of users that are a) event videographers/editors who must deliver DVD/bluray to clients and b) hobbyists who want the disk format for themselves and to share. My favorite guesses are a) that Rovio's takeover of Sonic/Roxio voluntarily or involuntarily squeezed Adobe financially or b) they don't want to invest the dollars in other aspects of fixing/upgrading Encore.

  • Importing several image sequences at once?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no way to import several image sequences at once is there?
I have many folders of image sequences, but there's no way to drag 'n drop or import more than one at a time. Or if there is, the method is escaping me at the moment.

For that, you can use Lloyd's brilliant script called Immigration: http://aescripts.com/immigration/

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence Problems

Hello, I am new to using CS for video editing so forgive me if this seems very basic.
What I am trying to do, is bring a sequence from Premiere Pro into After Effects so that I can jazz it up with some compositing and effets etc.  I went to File>Dynamic Link and imported my premiere sequence.  It shows up in my project panel, and double clickign it I can view it as normal.  But when I try to drag it into my timeline panel to make a comp, nothing happens.  I have tried draging it to the "create new comp" button within the project panel, and all it does is create an empty comp.  Am I doing something wrong?  I am using Mac OS X 10.7.2

I think you're going about this all wrong. If you go to Adobe Dynamic Link and pick Import Premiere Pro Sequence you get a movie not a composition.
    I don't think that's what you want.
If you go to File>Import>Premiere Pro Project you get all of the footage, the bins, and either all of the sequences as compositions or a selected sequence as a composition. Only cross dissolves and cuts come across but the AE project can quickly become unmanageable if there are lots of cuts. I cut a feature film last year in Premiere Pro and there were just a little over 3000 edits. Can you imagine working on a comp with 3000 layers???
    The project looks like this:
The only difference between importing a movie and importing a Premiere Pro Project using dynamic link is that you can go back into Premiere Pro and re-edit the movie, then bounce back into AE and see the edits without rendering the Premiere Pro sequence. It's not at all useful to do what you describe in your original question. I didn't read carefully when I posted the first answer.
My usual workflow, in fact the workflow used in the project I'm showing here, is to go to one or a few of the shots I'm working on in Premiere Pro, select them then right click on the selected shots and choose Replace with After Effects Composition. This enables AE, allows me to concentrate on the sequence that needs the work in AE, keeps my AE projects very manageable, and lets me work faster and more efficiently. This runway show First Cut had about 15 effects shots, each requiring only about 3 or 4 layers. If I had imported the entire PPro project I would have had about 500 layers to sort out and the comp would have been completely unmanageable.

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence Stops at 50%

I've been up for two days now looking thought these forums. I just need to output a simple, menu-free DVD and blu-ray disk.
    I recently upgraded from CS3 to CS5.5.
I tried exporting the "old" way, but can't just burn the work area. So I output to a MPEG-DVD file, put this new material in a new sequence, and tried Dynamic Link to Encore. Encore reads it all it, but stops with a "Import Premiere Pro Sequence" at 50%. I've let it run for hours, but it doesn't move past this point.
I'm running on an old machine - dual core, 8MB memory, HD6570 video card. I know I need a better machine, but if I can't burn discs, I won't make money, and I'll never afford anything faster.
I'm very disappointed. I'm not doing anything fancy, not much more than simple cuts. Seems like burning discs should be a no-brainer. Judging by this forum, Adobe has turned this seemingly simple function into a major undertaking.

Some observations; take them or leave them as you please:
I'm running on an old machine - dual core, 8MB memory, HD6570 video card.
I've resorted to burning using BurnAware
I've been using Premiere for over 10 years
All that seems to indicate you are running a Windows box.
I know I need a better machine, but if I can't burn discs, I won't make money, and I'll never afford anything faster.
it looks like Adobe has created another FCP user
A new Windows box will cost you far less than a similar-performing new Mac, which is what you'd need to run FCP.  Since you've indicated that the cost of a new system is an issue, you may want to rethink the Mac/FCP purchase considering its cost and the fact that you've already invested in CS5.5.  There's nothing wrong with a Mac/FCP combo, it's just that I wouldn't consider it budget-friendly.
Seems pretty cludgy for a semi-professional video editing product.
Agreed.  But most of Encore's issues are solvable.  No guarantees, but the users here are generally pretty good at getting to the heart of an issue.  They're going to need more info from you, however.  Please read here:

  • Media Encoder CC won't import a JPEG sequence to the queue

I am running Media Encoder CC 7.2.2.29 (64-bit) on OSX 10.9.4.
I have a JPEG sequence GoPro timelapse image sequence that I want to encode into a video clip. All files have a .jpg extension. They are 4000x3000 and have an RGB color space. The Color profile is SRGB IEC61966-21. All images are 3.9MB.
According to the ME help I should do the following.
To add an image sequence, choose File > Add Source. In the Open dialog box, choose the first file of the image sequence. Enable the  Sequence Import checkbox for your file type, and then click the Open button.
I follow the instructions and select the first image in the sequence. The "JPEG File Sequence" checkbox is active and I check it and click the Open button. The dialog disappears and nothing happens. There are no warnings.
How does one get JPEG sequences to import to the queue?
    Please advise.
    -Travis

Yes, import into premiere work fine. The nice part about using AME directly is you don't have to have to create a project or use an old one every time you want to crunch a timelapse. Also, AME has this nice feature where it will autoname the output file IMG[FirstStill]-[LastStill] (ie IMG[GP001234-GP001297]). This was helpful because GoPros change the first number in the sequence every time you stop and start time lapse.

  • Import a jpeg sequence on 2's

I had my first try at Stop Motion over the weekend. After finishing the shoot (a test really), I tried to import the sequence into AE? I've seen a few things about the sequences automatically coming in at 30fps? How do you import the footage on 2's at say 12fps? I haven't seen that option anywhere?
Links to tutorials, or instuctions would be really useful.
Or is AE even the right tool for the job?
    Thanks in advance.

It's fairly straight forward. Just interpret the footage at 12 fps and drop it in a 24 fps comp.

  • Why can't I import an AAF sequence that references a single clip of mono audio ?

I have an AAF file that defines a sequence which contains a single clip of mono audio. When I try to import this into Premiere Pro I get an error telling me that it is unable to reference a file  containing more than 2 audio streams. I'm assuming that a stream is synonymous with a channel which may be a mistake. If it is, then, as my audio is mono, it seems unlikely that I have more than 2 streams. I have checked what is in the AAF and the only part of it that has more than 1 channel is the 'Tape' mob. Is it possible that the import is failing because of this ?

I had this problem also, only the .m4v files could not be imported either! The strange thing was I was able to do this task with other home vids in the past without issue. I simply shut everything down and rebooted at this point as a last dithch effort to avoid a trip to the Apple store and then it worked - itunes was able to accept the import.
