Important information about setting up DNS for ADMT

Hi guys,
For a couple of days now, I've been trying to solve a problem in a test environment simulating the migration of a Windows 2003 domain into another Windows 2003 domain.
The two domains are in different IP subnets.
Both domains are on Windows 2003 functional level and they have DNS integrated zones, so it's a straightforward configuration.
In order to do the test, I've created a secondary DNS zone for each domain in the other domain and setup DNS in the primary zones on both domains to transfer the zones to the secondary ones. I've also configured WINS on both domains to push/pull information from the other domain.
Until now, all is great and name resolution works fine.
I've established a two way trust and did all the necessary steps to begin the migration like setting up the Password Export and enabling SID History and auditing...
Now when I tried a test migration for a group with admt 3.0, I recieved multiple kinds of errors:
ERR2: 7449 SID History cannot be updated for .... The tool could not locate a domain controller for the source domain
WRN1: 7392 SIDHistory could not be updated due to configuration or permissions problem
ERR2: 7816 Cannot determine if source object 'LDAP://groupname' matches an object in the target forest or domain
etc...
I tried many troubleshooting steps but nothing worked until I removed all the secondary zones and created forwarders in place. So each domain now forwards DNS queries to the other domain. I tried ADMT and everything worked like charm.
So I wanted to share this information with you in case there are out there someone with the same problem.

So, i did as everyone was told.
Removed all the secondary zones on source domain controller and added the forwarders for target domain on the source domain controller's DNS.
Still i keep getting the error, "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted (Error code=1355, domain=target_domain)" while doing user migration.
Any help?

Hey just doing a check. In. Do you have any more information about the Lightroom app for tablet? Like when it is coming out, what features will it have? Because I can't Waite. Especially for editing a raw file on a tablet. Excited.
I do have a Few questions. 1. Will the app have a library mode that allows the photographer to display the raw files on the app like how photo shop touch does. Example. When your import a photo from the iPad it shows up in the photo app that Apple makes. But when you take that photo into photo shop and save it as a psdx file, the project or photo does not show up in the original photo app by apple.
2. Will the app use the smart previews when you import a raw file on to the iPad the same as you do with a computer?
3. Do you have to Waite to go home to edit a raw file or can you edit on the tablet once you import the photo from camera to iPad? Instead of going home import to computer into Lightroom 5, then to adobe cloud, then to iPad.
4. Will the app display catalog, book, etc modes like Lightroom 5 has?

It's pretty obvious...
db.adminUser = the username of a dba user in your database
db.demoUser = the username of the demo user that will get created
db.demoUser.password = the password that will be used for the demo user
db.demoUser.tablespace = the default tablespace for the demo user
db.demoUser.tempTablespace = the default temporary tablespace for the demo user
You don't have to change any of them.

Stuck on screen show message "Important information about installing OS X Mavericks"

To fix this people you need to update your original software first apple icon top left then software update (As
shown. If you have already formatted your hardrive when attempting to install from boot drive (USB), you will need to shutdown and restart your mac holding the "Command + R" key together, this requires internet access to re download and install your orginal software because you have wiped it. After it has installed you will then be able to install MAVERICKS! by following the steps you have mentioned.

I thought I'd give you a response even if I can't answer your question completely. (I think we ought to start a separate thread entitled "How do you get any replies on this forum???") Here is what I have been forced to do. I introduced some JavaScript on the web page that contains the applet I want to be run. The sole purpose of the JavaScript is to detect which platform the client is on. If it's not MacIntosh, then I have JavaScript write the <object><embed> tag used by the Java plug-in. It it is MachIntosh, then I have JavaScript write the regular <applet> tag and let the Mac browsers do as best they can. With mixed and disappointing results. Netscape 6.2 crashes with a lot of applets. IE 5 brings up the applet okay but certain Swing components aren't displaying properly. The MacIntosh I've been testing on is version 9.1. I'm trying OS X tomorrow.
Why don't you send a reply to my query under the Java Plug-in Forum--from aronsz, dated 06/11/02--if you have some more info by now. I sure would appreciate it.

However, if it is a recurring problem you would have been expected to utilize the parental control features.

I have my ios devices DNS set via DHCP
You'd have to move to an MDM solution if you want over the air, push profile configuration setting to the devices
such as osx server Profie Manager. You may be able to do it with custom settings, I haven't tried it myself
The basic wifi setting in OSX server PM only allow settings for wifi SSID password etc
no DNS settings ip address etc. alternative MDM solutions may give you more options

Information about setting up the RAID system

I'm completely ignorant here, so you'll have to bare with me. I'm just trying to work out whether I've set things at least correctly if not optimally!
I've got a Mac Pro with four single Terrabyte disks. I've gone to the Raid utility and chosen the Raid 5 setting for maximum security. It's set this up and all be one of the Disks has disappeared.
I've gone back to the RAID Utility and clicked on the RO-1 set - there is only one now, which I'm assuming is normal. And created a volume. I created the largest one it would allow me to.
This gave me a volume of 1.47 TB
Now, to me this looks like I had four T of memory before starting this and now I have two and a half - the Disk 1 and the Raid Volume -
Is this how the system works, by creating backups in those areas I can't now see?
I'm trying to set this up for Final Cut Pro and wonder if this a useful configuration. Any comments please. So far I've no data in the system to worry about so I'm just trying to work out the best set up.

I'm pretty sure I don't quite understand what you've done, but if your intent is to create a RAID 5 array of your four 1 TB drives using Disk Utility then here's what you do:
1. Open Disk Utility. Select a drive from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of partitions to 1 then click on the Options button. Select the GUID partition option and click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS X Extended, Journaled then click on the Partition button. Repeat for all the drives.
2. Once the four drives have been formatted click on the RAID tab in the DU main window. Drag each volume (sub-entry of the drive entry) into the list box. Give the array a name, select either Striped or Concatenated RAID from the RAID type drop down menu, set the format type to Mac OS X Extended, Journaled. If you want the RAID to automatically repair itself then click on the Options button and check the box so labeled in the dialog.
3. Click on the Create button.
I would suggest creating a Striped RAID rather than a Concatenated one. You cannot create a RAID 5 array with Disk Utility. Only 0, 1, and 0+1 arrays. If you want a RAID 5 array you will need to purchase a separate RAID card such as the one Apple sells. If you want some redundancy you could create two striped RAIDS (2 drives in each array) and then create a mirrored RAID of the two striped arrays. Basically this gives a 2 TB mirrored array rather than a 4 TB striped array.
You might want to read up on RAIDs since you say you don't know anything about them. You might do this before you attempt to do a RAID. You might also think about what your actual data needs are and whether storage space is the primary concern or data backup.

The source sends only one stream and there are many source.But how many stream does every source receive? It's important for me!Please help me!

For example:
I have 3 computers that are source and receiver at the same time (communication many-to-many).
Every one sends one stream but does it receive 2 streams from the others?

Where can I find information about creative/artistic software for my Mac?

I write (mostly children's plays) so I need to find out exactly what kinds of software are available to me for scripts, film, published material, etc. I am planning to rewrite a script which has been produced on stage several times into an animated film if I can learn how. I need some software to help me with this project.
I also want software with various capabilities for needlework, quilting, crochet, sewing, pattern design, etc.
For years I have seen artists and craftspersons on tv demonstrating work they have designed on their own computers and then transferred to an art medium and though I have looked, I am evidently not checking in the right places to find said software.
Any help, suggestions or websites you give will certainly be appreciated.

For writing you can use anything, but for the most bang for no money, I suggest the free LibreOffice suit.
It has word processing, spreadsheet, drawing and much more, all free. It's cross platform so anyone who downloads the free software can read it your files. Mac, PC or Linux, doesn't matter.

Well depends upon what sort of animation, 3D animation is very complex and requires a powerful machine and even racks of machines to do the final rendering.
2D simple animation I don't know of anything off hand, I'm guessing you need something that you can make changes in the frames and play it over and over until you get the desired result, moving things around and creating your story line. etc.
You'll need music and sound creation tools to create your clips, iMovie/GarageBand can likely help bring those two together, but doesn't do the animation, you need something else for that.

Ok your likely looking at the Adobe Creative Suite, with Photoshop, Illustrator and perhaps even InDesign for laying out any printed material like manuals and booklets.
Illustrator has exteremly fine controls of detailed artwork, create patterns that you can duplicate and so forth.

Well like any artist they use the computer to assist them to get their artwork done, but then need to use various manual techniques and sometimes very expensive machines you never see to transfer that medium to their end product.
Computers can't do everything, they are tools that can perform certain functions, it takes the human and training to transfer that to a finished piece.
A education in the graphics art field may assist you there, reading how to go about achieving your goals and see how a computer can help or not help.
You can check over at Cnet.com or MacUpdate.com for creative Mac software, lots ot choose from.

Miss informed about U Verse Service for existing Att Wireless Customers

I signed up for new Att u verse service because off a $400 rebate. I called and established new service for U verse and Internet bundle which I was told there would be a $400 rewards VISA card. I disconnected my contracted DirecTV with a early termination fee relying on this rewards card to pay off the early termination. Now to come to find out 3 months wondering where my rewards card is that I don't qualify. Very disappointed!! I would have never agreed for this service if I was not offered a $400 rewards card. And to make matters worse the bundle that was installed isn't even what I ordered and customer service is telling me they can't change it because the service was already installed. I am livid....being a happy Att wireless customer I am now second guessing my decision to activate such service. I feel jipped and lied too!!!

Have a hunch you missed the notice from ATT, about 30 days after install, about the Reward Center to get your reward card. Then you had to go there to redeem it and get it 3-4 weeks after that.
If you'd come here after you just got installed, we'd have told you about the Reward Center.
