Important Question for Oracle Corporation

Hello,
I am a J2EE architect in a reputable multinational software house in Pakistan. Till last month, we were using Oracle 9iAS (9.0.4) with Borland JBuilder 9 (using oracle plugin found in Jbuilder Cd). We decided to migrate
to JBuilder X so we downloaded its trial version to evaluate it. But to our surprise it does not include the plugin for Oracle 9iAS. We tried to use the plugin for JBuilder 9 but i did not work.
Therefor i humbly request to Oracle Corporation to provide us the plugin of OC4J(9.0.4) for JBuilder X.
Anybody can help me too if they got the one.
My Email address is : [email protected]
please reply me on the forum first and then email me the plugin.
Yours sincerely,
Shoaib Akhatr
Senior Java Architect

I just post my forms questions here. I'm using 6.0 seems to be fine.

  • Interview questions for oracle dba

Hi I am trying to find teh interview questions for oracle dba .
What will be your answer to the following questions. Can somebody shed some light...
. What is the day to day duties of oracle dba?
    ·     Did you use online or off-line backups?
    ·     What version of Oracle were you running?
    ·     Haw many databases and what sizes?
    ·     If you have to advise a backup strategy for a new application, how would you approach it and what questions will you ask?
    ·     If a customer calls you about a hanging database session, what will you do to resolve it?
    ·     Compare Oracle to any other database that you know. Why would you prefer to work on one and not on the other?
    Thx
    KK

. What is the day to day duties of oracle dba?
I have got a checklist, designed for my daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly tasks. For example, in the daily checklist tasks, I check for the alert log file, competion and correction of my exports and operating system backups. DB space situation, Antivirus status, standby database status, space on disks, any rogue queries etc.
    · Did you use online or off-line backups?
    Both.
    · What version of Oracle were you running?
    8i(not any more), 9i, 10g
    · Haw many databases and what sizes?
8 databases, ranging from 1 TB to 10 GB. I have segregated them into OLTP production, testing, cm, and development and a Datawarehouse.
    · If you have to advise a backup strategy for a new application, how would you approach it and what questions will you ask?
How much they could afford to lose data or they want zero data loss and also I will get their requirements about down time and up time of database.
    · If a customer calls you about a hanging database session, what will you do to resolve it?
First I will identify it, then see to it what exactly it is doing, capture that situation and then either try to release the locks(if its a blocking or blocked session), or kill the session, if its hanging on a runaway query.
    · Compare Oracle to any other database that you know. Why would you prefer to work on one and not on the other?
Oracle passes the ACID rule with distinction as compared to the other databases. Moreover, the multiversion read consistency, recovery, flexibility and challenges of Oracle are matchless.

  • A very important question for every After Effects user

a very important question for every After Effects user, from product manager Steve Forde:
    http://adobe.ly/1exI6tI

Tom Daigon Great idea everybody! Encourage Adobe to do ONLY ONE THING with AE for 2014. Since theres not a heck of a lot of development that can be done on the present foundation, they can really stretch the rental scheme out for many years. And once you get used to the concept, every year they will do ONE THING to placate you. So now they have you swallowing no "ownership" of software and limited development.

  • 2 questions for Oracle portal

    i work with portal 10.1.4
    2 questions:
Is possible to display in my portal the online users or how many are visited every day the portal ?
i try but i dont cant update my portal to latest version 10.1.4.2.
10.1.4.2 buider have differences from 10.1.4? New features?
    thanks,

A quick and dirty way may be to count your logins from wwctx_sso_session$ :
    select count(1) from WWCTX_SSO_SESSION$ where SESSION_START_TIME > (sysdate-24) and USER_NAME != 'PUBLIC' ;
This will give you the number of users who have logged on during a 24 hour interval. It doesn't filter out multiple user logins.
    Regarding 10.1.4.2 :
It is a patch set on top of Portal 10.1.4. By definition, patch sets should not include any functionality changes. Oracle has added generation of HTML 4.01 Strict for your Portal however. Keep in mind however that you are not having all the fixes which have been incorporated in the patch set. Especially the web cache - PPE communication may be a bit buggy in some cases.

  • Support question for Oracle Express

Can anyone tell me if Oracle provides security patches for Express? I read an artical from '03 that said they do not. It said Oracle only provides new builds with the patches included.
    Thanks
    -Don

Support for express is not being delivered via Metalink, but via a forum Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)
I suggest you re-ask your question there.

  • Important Questions for MAC AMATEUR photographers - is it worth it to change what works

    Greetings,
I have been following this products evolution.
Currently I have a system that works very well. After a shoot I follow the following workflow.
    1) BAck up originals on a external drive.
    2) Import into Apple iphoto
    3) Preview and set keywords and albums with iphoto
    4) Edit in Photoshop CS2
    5) Share with pbase or Picasa online albums
    6) Backup the iphoto directories regularly
The idea of the enhanced digital asset management capabilities with Lightroom is attractive but I question how much value it would add to my current workflow. Some questions that is raises are:
    1) Lightroom performances on a imac G5 with 2GB of RAM
    2) Should I use the Lightroom library structures or good old physical directories which are nice if the MAC is down and I want to use a backup windows computer
    3) Still not sure of the best practices for maintaining and backing up lightroom libraries
Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.
    Thanks!!!!

To answer your points and I use an iMca G5 with 1.5gb ram.
    1) Lightroom performances on a imac G5 with 2GB of RAM
Mine goes really well, pretty fast, certainly fast enough for me with Nikon D200 files mostly.
    2) Should I use the Lightroom library structures or good old physical directories which are nice if the MAC is down and I want to use a backup windows computer
I would use physical structures as I find the iPhoto ones rather cumbersome/difficult to use, which is one of the reasons why I stoppped using iPhoto!! Another being I like the LR Develop and Print modules.
    3) Still not sure of the best practices for maintaining and backing up lightroom libraries
Ihave LR set to back up the library evry day and keep the latest two, deleting the rest.
Files ought to be backed up somewhere else. I put the original raw files on DVD too and import to LR as DNG. If the crunch came I can always go back to the raw!!
Hope this helps and most of all:
    Enjoy LR!!!

  • OUAF Application Framework install question - for  Oracle Utilities SDK 4.0

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me, I am really confused.
I have a working install of MDM 2.1 and everything is working.
Now I need to install the OUAF SDK to start coding in JAVA but since I a mstill new to all this I dont really understand where the Application server is. I though that I installed that already. But it is not found in C:\ouaf\demo.
I have the framework installed, I do not understand why the SDK is telling me wrong folder.
Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.1.0 Multiplatform is the one I have installed.
    Here is the install doc:
    http://www.box.net/shared/k86v1a4gtc793ho1zc20
Here is part of the install doc:
    •     OUAF Application Server in 32-bit and development (exploded) form. The installation will prompt for the folder name where this is installed. Note the first 2 digits of the versions (e.g. “4.0”) of both the SDK and application server must match.
I found the patch number to the SDK here: (but where do I find OUAF app server?)
    http://blogs.oracle.com/theshortenspot/entry/new_releases_of_oracle_utiliti
10043375 - Oracle Utilities SDK 4.0.0.4 (for OUAF V4.0.2 based products).

    - Have a look at metalink note 3951017.8 for a possible fix
    - Check that your interconnect is properly configured
    - Try running the query with PARALLEL hint. This would mean doing disk I/O instead of buffer & interconnect I/O.

  • Simple questions for Oracle XML Team - please respond

    1) Which class/methods should be used to obtain the content
model (mixed-content or element-content) associated with each
element declaration in a DTD? In other words, how do I know if a
particular element can have child elements and/or data in a
valid XML document, the frequency each child element can appear
under a particular element, and whether a sequence list or a
choice list was used to declare the element?
    2) Do you have any bug reported so far for this part of Oracle's
parser made available in the last released?

Look at oracle.xml.parser.v2.ElementDecl class and then
    getContentType and getContentElements methods.

  • Accessing oracle DB from a java program - question for oracle driver

    Hi,
    I have Oracle 10 G under vista on my desktop. I am trying to write a simple java program to access/update database tables. I saw in one of oracle example to import 2 packages - namely --- import oracle.jdbc.driver.*; import oracle.sql.*;
Where do I find these 2 packages. Also I read some documentation to download drivers. I would like to use 2 drivers, the thin driver and the OCI driver. Can someone tell me where I can find these drivers and where do I copy these two drivers - so javac and java command can recognize it.
I will greatly appreciate the help. Julia

You can download the drivers from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html.
Note that oracle.jdbc.driver is desupported after 10.2, http://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=201, so you might want to consider using a DataSource to provide Connections.

    Dear Oracle Canada Payroll Customer:
We would like to make you aware of an issue impacting 11i and R12
payroll customers that submit T4 information to the Canada Revenue
Agency on magnetic media. Other Information codes 81 to 85 are not being
reported on the T4 magnetic media file. The T4 Paper Report and T4 PDF
report these codes correctly. The codes represent the following:
81 – Placement or employment agency workers gross earnings
82 – Drivers of taxis or other passenger-carrying vehicles gross earnings
83 – Barbers or hairdressers gross earnings
    84 – Public transit pass
85 – Employee-paid premiums for private health services plans
If you have reported any of the above codes to the CRA through magnetic
media, please file an amended slip for those employees.
    We apologize for any inconvenience.
