Important Question on Next Week's Deal

It is to my knowledge that Best Buy is one of the participating retailers in the upcoming sept.7-11 Buy an Xbox One get a game feee deal. However, in the article from which I discovered this deal, it was unclear as to the limitations of the offer. The article mentioned that "pre-order games" are not eligible for this deal. However, I have been thinking about pre-ordering a console, the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare edition Xbox One to be exact, and this deal gives me a great incentive to act upon that desire. My question is, is this deal exclusive of unreleased games AND unreleased consoles?

Travel to UK with iPhone next week. A few questions if you please!

My daughter is going to visit the UK next week. She will be bringing her iPhone. I have bought her a plug adapter that does not convert voltage because it is my understanding that the Apple adaptor will take 220 fine. Also, the data roaming has been turned off. She has been told not to try to use the internet unless she has WIFI access. I will call ATT on Monday to buy international calling, which brings the roaming charges down a little, but not much.
Now the questions: Will the phone work in the UK reliably? How the heck do you dial an american phone number from the UK Let's say you want to dial 714-555-1212 from the UK, what prefixes are needed when you dial. I don't want her to place her calls with operator assistance! Any other comments would be greatly appreciated, TIA.

When you put numbers in a mobile phone, it's always best to enter internationally formatted numbers.
For the US, that's +1 714 555 1212 for the number you mentioned, or for a UK number such as 01312 345678, it'd be +44 1312 345 678 (leave out the first '0'). Obviously, +1 is the US country code, +44 is the UK. Check out this wikipedia link for other countries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Listof_international_callprefixes
The iPhone - even the US iPhone, works fine in the UK, as it's a GSM phone (the technology used for pretty much every country's predominant cell networks except the US). Mine's been without issue.
One thing that nobody thinks of, but everyone could possibly need - emergency services. It's a common misconception in the UK that 911 works, but it will not. Remember to use 999, or the European-wide (and world wide for GSM phones) 112
Oh yeah, and last but not least, visit Scotland, especially the highlands.

Getting FiOS next week... 2nd Phone line Question

We just signed up for FiOS Triple play and will be installed next week... We have two phone lines (on seperate accounts) coming in the house... the FiOS rep said that they can hook up one during install and that I have to call after install and have the second account merged into the FiOS acct for an additional $10/month... is this true? Or do I have to sign up for another phone package at an additional cost?
If there is a VZ rep who can assist me that would be awesome or someone who has had this experience to walk me thru it..

Trying to run code from this weeks question of the week

i've copied the code from this weeks question of the week "sending an http req from a normal class." when i compile it everything looks fine. i've installed tomcat and it works. so i guess i am confused as to where i put the servlet class file??? and do i need to change a web.xml file?
any help would be appreciated,

i got new repalcement handset after 20+ days of daily chasing... i was given fresh piece but just the hnandset as other all accessories i had and they want replace... i got new 2. shareware also loaded but the Problem SAME still persist... nothing has changed and nothing will change in N91. its been declared biggest failure of Nokia by company. i hv heard that they going to pull out this from market. so prices have also crashed. out of every 10 pc min 6 are faulty with hanghing problems. other 4 are either lucky or not using instrument fully.
my advise will be chase nokia in both place. 1st the service centre and 2nd the helpcare./ keep records of names u talk with. it wl be handy. once u get replacement SALE N91 at best possible price... i wish i had done same but got fooled by promise fr nokia that now the N91 is without any problems... all the best.

Important Questions to ask when developing in Workflow

I have two questions.
I am not a Workflow developer, but I've been asked to find out information about creating a Workflow process.
Here is what <b>I</b> need to know: What are important questions to ask the end-user when creating a workflow. What needs to be taken into consideration?
Here is an example of the kind of thing we need to do:
Send an email on a weekly basis to different Project Managers a Summary of Project Charges = (maybe CN41?)
Each Project Manager will have different requirements, so I guess one question will be: "What info do you want from this report?". What else do I need to know?
My second question is this: I should be able to output this as an Excel, correct? How much can I customize this? I haven't done much SAP -> Excel work. Only when I go to System -> List -> Save -> Local File ->Spreadsheet.

Looking at your example their might not even be a need for a workflow but rather a job that runs periodically to send the required information via email to project managers.
Workflow is mostly used if user actions are required e.g. confirm, approve, reject a request or notifications need to be sent to someone after an event or user action occured.

Thanks, kaluzu! I was searching for iphone 4 case, not iphone4 case. You would think it would hit either way, but I did get it! Now to decide which one to order..... I'm assuming that since there are only either clear or black available now, that won't change. I was hoping for a pretty colored one to go along with the clear one that I have now, but I guess not! Right now I have the Belkin Grip Vue and it interferes with the flash, so a new one is getting ordered to day....
In the app, it says case selection and availability is subject to change. Hmm, I wonder if there is any chance whatsoever that they will have colored ones at some point? (yes, I know, nobody can answer that question, I was just pondering aloud)

I recent got a Refurbished ibook for work waiting for it shipped next week

This Friday that just past, on the email I got says Estimated Shipped By: MAY 16, 2006 Estimated Delivered By: MAY 23, 2006. Now the question why does it take almost 2 weeks ( counting this week coming up) for this thing to be delivered? I dont understand why if this is in thier warehouse as stated to me Friday that it takes this long to get here in Pa.
I got my Imac in 3 days and I got it on one of the busiest time around Chrismas week I dont understand it

We don't work for Apple, this is a user-to-user forum. We might be able to share some similar recent experience, but we can't tell you what Apple's current operation is.
Did you customize anything? Add RAM or a bigger hard drive? Those modifications are done at the factory and things could be backed up a bit. The larger hard drives could be constrained right now. So, five to seven business days before it ships would be next week. You can't order overnight shipping from the factory in Asia, so it could take several days after that to get to your place.
Of course, we can't discuss rumors about unannounced products here, but the G4 iBook could be replaced at any moment by an Intel-based new computer. That could cause a delay in your order while you let Apple know if you want to cancel your order or accept one of the new computers.

Nokia Belle coming next week??

Finally, Nokia belle seems to start roll out from next week according to nokia's twitter....

Unfortunately, it appears that somebody jumped the gun a little. We have checked with the software update team responsibile for preparing the roll-out of Belle to existing Symbian^3 devices and there has not been any plan to begin during next week. Current information is still, as has been previously stated, that the roll-out of Belle will begin during February.
The official word from Nokia is:
We have already shipped Nokia 603, 700 and 701 with Nokia Belle earlier this year, and have received great feedback on the new user experience. We have also started shipping new versions of Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 with Nokia Belle preinstalled. To make Nokia Belle available to consumers globally, we will start rolling out Nokia Belle for the already existing Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia Oro, Nokia E6, and Nokia 500 smartphones in February 2012.
And it is not true that the software is released in alpha-numerical order by model name. Software updates depend the phone product code, meaning that some regional, country and network variants may be released sooner or later than others - so don't worry, Stanely08, if you have an N8 or an X7 you are not at the back of the queue on the basis of your device model.

Connecting an iPod to a PC now, and a Mac next week??

I have just picked up a 32GB iTouch today and have just ordered a new MacBook Pro 15inch after last night's launch, to replace my ailing Toshiba PC notebook.
I would dearly love to connect my iTouch up to my PC installed iTunes so that I can have some music on it for a weekend trip away.
As of next week, however, I will be wanting to install a new version of iTunes on my new Mac and have my iTouch start to sync with the Mac installed iTunes.
Make sense so far?
My question is, can what I have described above be done without any problems being experienced along the way, or would it just be common sense for me to hold off loading any music on my iTouch from my PC, or for that matter, connecting the iTouch to my PC at all, and instead just wait til I have my Mac?
I know that's all a bit long-winded, but I hope someone understands what I am getting at and can suggest what I should do.

Yeah it's like one small change can set off a chain reaction of mishaps in the most unanticipated, yet in 20/20 hindsight makes sense, ways.One of my business partners asked me to stop by a 3-person company run by one of her friends. They have zero tech support and have problems dealing with Western Digital external hard drive solution. I go there, and the device just is not working. I told the guy "Well hate to this, but it's just not working" And the guy is like "I can't accept that as an answer", and I chuckle to myself "as if the device cares what you will accept", so I take him to google and type out his problem and let him see all the people struggling with it and he's like "Oh I guess there is something wrong with it" And I tell him "Welcome to my job.. googling problems and working out which solutions might work and might not...

I have a client that has this odd industry app that I guess is always a PITA. I had a small fix to do a few weeks back. He mentions a rep from this software vendor will be coming and installing some new software features to this app and some special hardware. He said I don't know, but we may need you on that day.
I replied okay, you have all the logins you should need, I think you'll be set. Guy comes, I guess that all goes off without a hitch. The next week though I get email he's like I'mlogging in with this account, I don't recall what we used before.
This account was for the owner and had a roaming profile setup, and printers had changed from default because this vendors work. He tried changing, but they kept resetting. I told him I think it was probably related to so many profiles on this account being open and they weren't all the...

Easy explanation. He displayed both pages shortly each after, this is why under Konqueror there is one more posting. He is using Firefox as his primary browser I guess, therefore Konqueror has him not marked as logged in. Only logged in users have the information displayed, how many users are viewing some particular subforum.

Put your phone in Airplane mode. This turns off all iPhone radios, but you can go back into settings & turn both WiFi & Bluetooth back on.
No nasty surprises if you do that.

Ical moving item in week view to next week view - can you drag it

i like to drag items not completed from a week view to the next week view, but as with Office 2007 you cant just drag the event from the week view to the months calendar view on the side and drop it into a new date.
I know if you use month view, it make is easy but month view is my least preferred display option, also in month view, to drag to the next month is no possible.
I wonder what is a quickstep to do this, it must be annoying for others

Try using (⌘+C) and then (⌘+V). That action retains the event in the original, while also placing a duplicate in the new location.
If you want to remove the event from the original time, use (⌘+X), then (⌘+V) in the new time frame.

How to import questions into Captivate 4 from a delimited file

I'm looking
a way to import questions from a delimited text file (or excel spreadsheet)
into captivate.
All the questions are simple multiple choice, single answer, four selections per question.
I have hundreds - I'd hate to have to retype them all in one at a time.

Other things I would really like to see in Captivate 5.
Importing and Exporting the graded quiz/test content out of captivate into another
application/ form. Such as xml, tab delimited, excel spreadsheet,
Adobe pdf, Word document or another format. Our current content
developement systems allows us to (when publishing) do this.
1> exclude questions from the Published content
(exclude section questions, or final test content)
2> produce different test versions from question banks
3> Produce a PDF paper test for when we want to train in a classroom setting
4> Select which questions we want to produce
5> Import questions from a pre-defined format. To note: when we do this the system also makes us define a unique interaction id so that the import will update existing questions.
I know this will NOT work for some of the more sophisticated questions, But for the simple Mulitple choice, true/false, fill in the blank. etc..
THIS WOULD BE A GREAT FEATURE..
It would also be NICE TO HAVE THE abiliy to PROFILE versions of the SAME Course WITH OUT REPRODUCING / DUPLICATING / REPEATING THE ENTIRE COURSE PRESENTATION.
Such as
"INSTRUCTOR TAUGHT TRAINING"
"WEB TRAINING"
"PAPER TEST A"
"PAPER TEST B"
ETC...
LASTLY: if we can not export the QUIZ content. Can an excel spreadsheet LIKE INTERFACE be used to edit certain aspects of the questions.
Such as the InteractionId which is sent to the LMS ('cmi.interactions.0.id'). My developer team says it is real difficult and time consuming
to track down interactionIds and then maintain them in a perfect way.
