Important Questions to ask when developing in Workflow

Hello All,
I have two questions.
I am not a Workflow developer, but I've been asked to find out information about creating a Workflow process.
Here is what <b>I</b> need to know: What are important questions to ask the end-user when creating a workflow. What needs to be taken into consideration?
Here is an example of the kind of thing we need to do:
Send an email on a weekly basis to different Project Managers a Summary of Project Charges = (maybe CN41?)
Each Project Manager will have different requirements, so I guess one question will be: "What info do you want from this report?". What else do I need to know?
My second question is this: I should be able to output this as an Excel, correct? How much can I customize this? I haven't done much SAP -> Excel work. Only when I go to System -> List -> Save -> Local File ->Spreadsheet.

WF is quite a complex topic and someone could write a book to answer your questions - actually there is already a good book available -> check: Practical Workflow for SAP

Looking at your example their might not even be a need for a workflow but rather a job that runs periodically to send the required information via email to project managers.
Workflow is mostly used if user actions are required e.g. confirm, approve, reject a request or notifications need to be sent to someone after an event or user action occured.

If you're using a Mac OS X 10.3 install disk, you can "reset password" for the original user from the Installer menu. If you're using a Mac OS X 10.4 install disk, you can "reset password" from the Utilities menu.

When I try to download apps, I am asked to answer security questions. However, when I cklick "continue", I am required to type in my Apple ID password but nothing else happens. Bottomline, I am not able to download apps at the time which is annoying.

Try downloading something from the iTunes Store on the iPad and see if that solve the password problem.

You're in the wrong forum. Post to iPhoto for iLife, not iPhoto for iOS.

Develop a Workflow to unblock Invoice

Objective
- Use BTE u2013 Business Transaction events to raise the event Invoice is blocked
- Extend existing Business object and add new method to unblock the invoice
- Develop a Workflow to unblock Invoice
Questions:
- Is there any standard FM to unblock the invoice?

I have identified this BTE for triggering WF using blocked price event. But this event get called twice so WF get called twice. Is there any way to prevent it?
- I have copied the FM for above event and this FM gets called when invoice is posted. But in import parameters I am not able to find the key field l EBELN (Document no).

How to import questions into Captivate 4 from a delimited file

I'm looking
a way to import questions from a delimited text file (or excel spreadsheet)
into captivate.
All the questions are simple multiple choice, single answer, four selections per question.
I have hundreds - I'd hate to have to retype them all in one at a time.

Other things I would really like to see in Captivate 5.
Importing and Exporting the graded quiz/test content out of captivate into another
application/ form. Such as xml, tab delimited, excel spreadsheet,
Adobe pdf, Word document or another format. Our current content
developement systems allows us to (when publishing) do this.
1> exclude questions from the Published content
(exclude section questions, or final test content)
2> produce different test versions from question banks
3> Produce a PDF paper test for when we want to train in a classroom setting
4> Select which questions we want to produce
5> Import questions from a pre-defined format. To note: when we do this the system also makes us define a unique interaction id so that the import will update existing questions.
I know this will NOT work for some of the more sophisticated questions, But for the simple Mulitple choice, true/false, fill in the blank. etc..
THIS WOULD BE A GREAT FEATURE..
It would also be NICE TO HAVE THE abiliy to PROFILE versions of the SAME Course WITH OUT REPRODUCING / DUPLICATING / REPEATING THE ENTIRE COURSE PRESENTATION.
Such as
"INSTRUCTOR TAUGHT TRAINING"
"WEB TRAINING"
"PAPER TEST A"
"PAPER TEST B"
ETC...
LASTLY: if we can not export the QUIZ content. Can an excel spreadsheet LIKE INTERFACE be used to edit certain aspects of the questions.
Such as the InteractionId which is sent to the LMS ('cmi.interactions.0.id'). My developer team says it is real difficult and time consuming
to track down interactionIds and then maintain them in a perfect way.

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

I am having issues with a SharePoint Designer workflow. This is a SharePoint 2013 environment, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 and working on a SharePoint 2010 workflow. I'm developing this as a SharePoint 2010 workflow because I need to do
impersonation.
The environment and workflow have been running, in the past week, without issue. I went to add a couple steps and now I cannot publish the workflow. While in SharePoint Designer, I receive the error:
"Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run." When I click the Advanced button on the error dialog, the message is "Unexpected error on server associating the workflow."
That is all the error information I have available; nothing is in the log files.
I have investigated this error and tried the following:
Cleared the SharePoint Designer cache.
The WebApp.UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity was at 7000 so I increased it to 10000. Restarted the servers (which may not have been necessary) and tried again receiving the same error. I then increased it to 30000 with the same error result.
Since this is a large workflow, I tried created a workflow with a single action, write to workflow log, with the same error results.
I reboot the servers and try again and now I can publish the small test workflow but not the original. However, neither will run. When I attempt to manually run the small test workflow on an item, I get an error: "Sorry something went wrong.
An unexpected error occurs. I checked the log files for the correlation id and nothing, nothing was logged for the error. ~arg~
Also, now no workflows can be published in this web app. Not just the one I was working on but none of them!
Does anyone have a clue what has happened to the SharePoint 2010 workflow service? Or some suggestions for me to try?

I appreciate it but if you see my original post, this is a SharePoint 2010 workflow that cannot be published; which has now caused all SharePoint 2010 workflows in the same web app to error.
Your first link is specific to SharePoint 2013 workflows.
Your second link refers to the UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity. If you read my original post, I've already tried this and I've tried to publish a small (single activity) workflow.
Your third link also refers to large workflows with many approval activities. My workflow doesn't contain any approval activities.
And you fourth link refers to 2013 workflows not 2010.
My issue is with publishing and running a SharePoint 2010 workflow in SharePoint 2013.

Developer/Designer workflow

In the videos it shows a two-way share of project Flash Builder 4 (Fb)<->Flash Catalyst (Fc), infact in the 10 minutes demo video it shows a developer 'importing an Fc project' directly into Fb4.
I can not find this option in any drop down menu in Fb4 and it seems the only way to get an Fc project into Fb is to export an fxp file. It also seems that the Fb project created is in quite a different structure to the Fc one.
So what happens when the designer wants to edit the designs? How are the changes updated and reflected in the Fb project (I can only 'import' an fxp file)? If I add code in the Fb project how does the designer see the functionality I have added in Fc?
I thought this was the WHOLE point of Fb/Fc. But where is this functionality?

Thanks for the info, downloaded the two apps today and gave them a spin.
Creating a project in Catalyst and importing the FXP into Flash Builder seems to works fine.
However exporting a FXP file from Flash Builder and then opening it in Catalyst does not work for me. Also this post suggests that it's a one-way workflow so far:

Do you know anything about this? Since it would prevent designers from updating projects it's very much a make-or-break feature.

BUT the Catalyst/Flash builder touted selling point is that is a developer/designer workflow NOT a designer/designer worflow. We have had a one-way workflow for ages, and this was supposed to fix that - really really dissapointing...

Possible way to prevent basic questions being asked repeatedly

could this be a possible way to prevent basic questions being asked repeatedly (and to encourage search before post) (may be atleast for newcomers to the forum, to minimize one-liner questions).
when a user tries to post the question, as the user types or in the preview screen or before he clicks on the submit button, the SCN should show the similar questions/threads (or atleast threads with exactly the same text) asked/discussed before.
then the forum user might click on the links, instead of posting a new one, as the answer could be readily available in existing threads.
this functionality i have seen in yahoo answers.
if you go to answers.yahoo.com and ask a very simple question like
"what is difference between sql and mysql"
then yahoo provides a popup "Wait, we might already have the answer you are looking for:" and it also shows the possible similar questions like:

I also think it is a cool idea, but unfortunately the "no brainers" are a small group in my experience and will not be detered by this.
We are using a new secret weapon in the past weeks against repeat offenders. Please use the Abuse Report button to report such basic questions when the person is "hard of hearing".
As a side note, also consider that some people are not fluent in English. Or even have no English language skills and use enterpreters. That is of course no reason to be a pain and break the rules (cross-posting, etc) but it does explain isolated misunderstandings.
I once called a repeat offender on the phone because he posted his telephone number in the forums. He could hardly speak any English at all, let alone write it...

My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday. I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank. When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message. The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
I'm not happy with HP. Any suggestions?
