Important Steps to create a report using BI Publisher

I have been working in OAF and have also made a few applications.
I have to create a few reports in applications I have made using OAF. Can I use BI Publisher to generate reports in the applications I have made?
I am new to BI Publisher. Can someone please guide me.

Creating a Report Using a SharePoint List

I am using a SharePoint List that Named as 'Service Requests'. It has some fields with Date, Time, Status. The Date & Time will be entered. The Status as three values & those will be selected using a Drop Down List Box. The Statuses are 'In Progress,
Completed, In completed'.
I want to create a Report using this SharePoint List that include status with other fields in monthly basis. As an example I want the report about the Service Requests within the December month.
I also need to know how am I able to link this report to a Web Menu that in the SharePoint Site. Because there is a web menu in that SharePoint Site. I have not developed this site so I don't know the type of the web menu of this site.
I think someone can help me to solve these problems.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a report based on a SharePoint list.
I agree with Trevor’s and Mohammad’s suggestion to use SQL Server Reporting Service to create the report for SharePoint list.
You need to configure Reporting Services for SharePoint 2010 and then use it to create reports.

Steps for Creating a Report in Oracle Apps

I need the steps for creating a Report 2.5 in Oracle Apps.

First you create the report using reports 2.5. (You need to refer Application Developer's User Guide to understand Apps standards for customization)
Then register the report in Apps:
1) Define the executable
2) Place the executable in the appropriate directory (You need to refer Apps installation guide to find the directory structure for placing reports)
3) Define the concurrent program (Pay attention when you define program parameters and value sets associated)
4) Attach your report to the request group attached to your responsibility
5) Run the concurrent program using SRS (you will not see the report when you open Submit Requests Form, if you do have permission)
The above procedure is applicable if you are defining the report directly in your instance. If you are using chain link, then you may have to migrate the objects appropriately.
Some of the above activities are usually done by System Administrator and users are not given permissions.

How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

Hi,
Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
1.     New Report
2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D -> Finish
Then I can see the following under XML

Create statspack report using sql*developer

While connecting with PERFSTAT user I can not create statspack report using SQL*Developer:

Error starting at line 1 in command:

Actually, my problem or question is that how can PERFSTAT user can generate statspack reports from a Client side. What is the other way a non-dba can see the snapshots histroy and generate report (by using perfstat user ) while joing tables or using views?

For statspack i don't know a solutuion. I think the best idea is, create a job to make the statspack report on the server side and access it via external tables or mail them forward to you.

Hi,
I am using Crystal report 8.5. My Database sqlserver 2000. I generated reports and are working fine.
Now I want to use MSDE 2000 instead of Sqlserver 2000 due to license factor.
My application is developed in VB 6. The all the parts of the application is working fine except the report.
All reports produced Database DLL error.
So I opened the report and try to verify the database. But it gives pdssql.dll not found. Database error.
After this error, I tried to create a new report and found that there is no option for MSDE 2000 database selection under more database.
I usually select Sql server 2000 database under More Database option of location wizard.

Is it due to crystal report 8.5 verison problem? I also have crystal report 11 licensed copy.

To use the inproc RAS SDK with CR.NET, you'd have to purchase either (1) Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Developer edition, and apply Service Pack 2 or above, or (2) Crystal Reports 2008 (not Crystal Reports Basic that comes with Visual Studio 2008).

Ho to create Publications Reports using OBIEE 11g BI Publisher

Hi All,
I have a report, actually a publication to be printed on pdf. The content is basically lot of formatted text such as in any text book or manual such as table of contents, index, all type of graphs/charts , tabular information with numbers, foot notes at the bottom etc, etc. It looks like any user manual.
Is such report possible in OBI 11g BI publisher? If yes, then how to do data modeling for such report to display in BI publisher report?
The source of those is in Essbase cube. Hw to create data model so as to print the information (so that related paragraphs are one after other, with embedded charts, tables etc) in logically correct sequence?. Are there any cube deisgn factors which can affect the publisher data model? wht r those?
The amount of text, with grapth, tables is very huge as in any manual.
I want to suggest tool to customer for surch publication report. Customer has purchased OBI 11g for reporting suite which includes BI publisher.., and Hyoperion Essabse application for budget planning.

Can such report be done in OBI 11g Answers? IF it can be done both Publisher, as well as Answers, then which one would be better option?
Can Hyperion Financial Reporting tool can do this kind of report?
Need your suggestions inputs...

Yes. It is possible to create such "books" using BI Publisher. It will take some effort as it needs planning and some custom code but definitely possible.
One of the key features to use is "Book Binding" along with BI Publisher's power to source information from different data sources.

I have done this myself for a couple of customers and produced all features you are asking: Table of Contents, Footers, Charts, even hyperlinks.

I want to know that is it possible to create dynamic reports using netbeans? Dynamic reports means based on user selection(for eg. say by selecting values from combo boxes) some query will be genatated and fetch the query result from data base and displayed results in iReports only my problem is i am working on Netbeans IDE and i have installed iReports as plugins in netbeans IDE. and i am not able to find any tutorial that show me how to work with iReports under netbeans IDE. and how to create dynamic reports in iReports.
