Imported event in a calendar disapear after a few syncs.

I am having this weir problem of loosing imported events after syncing a few times over .mac.
I have imported Entourage events in my main calendar and all the data are merged correctly in Ical. When I sync to .mac (complete reset of data to .mac) and I sync to another mac at home and all my data are syncing correcly. I also sync my data on my Palm T3 through Myssing Sync for Mac and all the data are correctly transferred. The problem comes after a few days when I want to sync again, and all of a sudden, all the data previously imported from entourage disappear.
Is there a trace or a preference out there that I need to trash for ICal to keep the merge data. In order to work around this bug, I have been doing back-ups often and restored from this back-up, but this is a cumbersome fix and anyway, after a few days, I still lose the original data imported entourage data...

Do you have an iCloud or Gmail calendar showing as an option in Calendar?
Check there, as well as in your Settings > Calendar and email.
Enable iCloud or Gmail calendar, and then you will have the option to invite when the calendar event uses one of those.

Can't add/modify/delete events from iPad calendar app after updating to iOS-5

Ever since I upgraded the OS on my iPad, I haven't been able to delete/modify events on the calendar app. I have to do it on my Mac first then sync my iPad to it. How do I fix this. Can't delete Calendar app & reinstall.

Have you restarted the iPad? some have reported that restarting it, by holding down the sleep and home key until you see the silver apple, can resolve the issue.

Lost calendar data after update and sync please help!!!

Last night I updated iphone via itunes with latest upgrade....and during or after which information an on my calender has been removed...it only has reaccuring events....all other events are GONE!!
Outlook is not set up on this computer as it is a work laptop and I didn't want to set up with home emails.
I have read a few discussions and looked at the support info on apple, no luck...
I have tried reseting sync history but that didn't recover the info.
I NEED HELP PLEASE!! in the very basic of forms...
Will i need to set up outlook?? Is that where all my info is???

In iTunes your iPhone shows up in the left column. Right click your iPhone and chose "restore from backup". This will put your phone back to when you plugged it in to update.

Iphoto pictures disapeared after trying to sync my droid razr motocast to macbook.

Help! I'm trying to get my pictures to reappear on iphoto but nothing is working. Trying to sync my droid razr to my macbook has changed the format of the pictures and they no longer appear in iphoto. They appear as outlined squares with no photo. I disinstalled motocast from my computer and got rid of it on my phone, but still no luck. I tried pressing the option/command/iphoto icon together to reset thumbnails as is says to do in the help menu, but that does nothing. Does anyone have a suggestion? I appreciate any advice you can offer.

I found another post that addressed this problem and recommended Image Capture as the solution. I was able to transfer all my pictures from my iphone to the computer with Image Capture. Then, I just had to create subfolders and upload the pictures/short movies into iphoto in small batches (about 123 pics/movies at a time).

Outlook calendar items I create not syncing with iphone

I am having difficulty with my outlook items syncing correctly with my iPhone. Any calendar items that other people create are synced correctly but if I create an entry, they are not.
Any suggestions?

Are you creating entries with the iPhone, iCal, or outlook? You should check which calendar is set as default. You might be entering events in a calendar that is not being synced, but it will still appear on the device you used for entry.
On the iPhone, this setting would be in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars ... scroll to the bottom to find the CALENDARS section an look at the Default Calendar setting.

ICal Imported Events Don't Appear in One Calendar

Hi,
I'm transferring data off my old Powerbook G4 with OS 10.4.11 to my new Macbook Pro with Lion 10.7.3, and I'm having a problem with importing iCal data.
When I did an iCal database backup import, 8 out of my 9 calendars seemed to be coming through, but one was not showing up at all in any view. So...
I tried to exporting this single calendar into Dropbox and importing it into my new computer's iCal. This attempt gave me an error something like "iCal can't read this file, no data has been transferred." So...
I tried a trick I read about, opening the .ics file in TextEdit, then changing the extension to .vcs and changing the second line Version:2.0 number to Version: 1.0. This only got some of the events into the new iCal, but definitely not all and with seemingly random results - some reapeating events missing, some one-time events, etc.
This is a real problem for me, as I do reference past events a lot. I can't get rid of the old stuff and move forward until I've shifted ALL of my data over, and many events from this calendar are missing.
Does anyone know what's up? Any fixes for this issue?

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.

I'm evaluating Communications Express from the JES 2005Q1. I imported about a years worth of events (about 30/month) which had been exported from iCS 5.1. When I view the Calendar through Calendar Express everything works fine. However, when I view the calendar through Communications Express the events fail to display in the month view. The same events display fine in the Day and Week views.

After each event had been modified and saved in the new calendar server the Month view now works fine.
So, it would appear that there is some data present or missing from the older exported .ics file that is incompatible with the new version 6.0 of the calendar server. If I look at one of the events modified as descibed above I see only one difference (in addition to the time stamps) and that is the presence of the tag:

We are upgrading to Communications Express from Sun One Calendar Express.
Exporting data from Sun One Calendar Express to Sun Jave Systems Calendar Express works fine; all day events show up, etc
So, the export feature works OK from Calendar->Calendar.
But, when we import the same calendar data into the Communications Express calendar the month view fails. It's only after changing/deleting the all day events does the imported data show in Communications Express in monthly view (the other views are OK).
Isn't the Communications Express calendar really the Sun Java Systems calendar with a different "look"

I want my wife to be able to see my calendars on my IPad /I phone on her mac and for her to add to it . She can then see my work movements and also add in any important events from home life. Can it be done without sync of email and contacts?

I would like my wife to see my calendar on her mac from my iPad so she knows my work movements and can add in any important events I need to be aware of at home. Can I do this without upsetting her mac/iPhone arrangement and without sync of contacts and email?

I'm not sure how iCloud will handle this, but I believe it will allow something along these lines - cloud syncing of the calendar between two. For now, you could just move your calendars to Google calendar and sync it to your iPad - then - you can subscribe to each other's calendars, give priviliges to add events to them, etc.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

To set up CalDAV support for Google Calendar in Apple's iCal, follow these steps:
Open Apple iCal, go to Preferences and then the Accounts tab.
Click on the + button to add an account.
In the box that pops up, enter a description for the account and your Google Account username and password.
Under Server Options, add the following URL:
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user
Replace '[email protected]' with the email address that you use to log in to Calendar. Make sure to include the '@domain.com' portion (which is @gmail.com for Gmail users) in this section.
DO NOT substitute your username for 'user' at the end of the URL.
Leave the Use Kerberos v5 for authentication option unchecked.
Click Add.
Under the Delegation tab, select the calendars you'd like to add to iCal by checking the boxes next to them. You may need to hit refresh to get the latest list of calendars.
Add your email address to your Address Book card by selecting Add Email. You'll be prompted to add your email address only if your address is not already in your Address Book.
You won't be able to invite or email guests to Google Calendar events within iCal if your address is not in your Address Book.
Your Google Calendar will now appear in iCal's list of calendars, and changes you make to your Google Calendar in iCal will be reflected when you sign in to Google Calendar.
Event information will automatically refresh every five minutes. You can change this interval by opening the iCal > Preferences > Accounts menu and selecting a new refresh interval under the 'Refresh calendars' drop-down. Keep in mind you can also force a refresh by selecting a calendar and pressing the Apple and R keys at the same time.
Calendars that are checked but disabled have already been added to iCal - you can remove them from within iCal.

IPhoto '11 - Calendar not showing imported events

Created a new calendar project, picked the calendars to import into it, everything showed just fine.
I quit iPhoto, opened it up a couple days later, and all the pictures were there, but the events were blank. Nothing on any date. Not even the holidays.
I've done everything to try to get these back.. Unselect/deselect. Trash PList. Create new calendar in Calendar.app. Nothing.
This happened to me last year, and I opened up a bug w/ Apple and received absolutely no movement on it. This year, same thing.
(Last year I had to hand-enter everything into it, even the Holidays.)

Okay, sorta success. I exported my main calendar (which was a local Mac calendar) to my desktop, re-imported it into a newly created iCloud calendar. Picked that from the options tab in the calendar editing view, and the events showed!
... but, once I re-picked "US Holidays" from the Holiday drop-down, my events disappeared.
So, I had to unselect US Holidays to get my calendar's events to show up. (But, this didn't work with a local calendar?) And then hand-enter all these events in, which now look "wrong", because the imported events show up in the top 1/3 of each date cell, but my hand-entered stuff shows up on the bottom 2/3. (Comon, Apple)
Other things that have worked in the past, which don't work now:
1) When dragging a picture onto a date (for instance, someone's birthday), picking a caption location and typing in a caption - resulted in no caption being shown. If I re-click on the date, the option for caption shows "None". (Possible the calendar type doesn't support it?)
2) Click on a date, hand-enter some stuff into the cell - if I click "off" the entry window, the entry window blanks out, but doesn't dismiss, and it retains the same date. (So it appears you zero'd out all text for that date, which isn't true.) This entry window should dismiss, I'd think.

After install snow leopard, ical does not show the events of some calendars

After I install snow leopard, ical does not show all the events, or simple does not show the events of some calendars that I created.
Can somebody solve this problem? Is there some update for ical?

Try the following:
1 - Go to your user account home folder, and open the library folder within it.
Look for the folder named "Calendars" and inside you might find a bunch of different folders with weird names. If they are there that means your calendars might not be lost.
2 - Look for the file "Calendar Cache". That file might be corrupted. Trash it. You may want to save a copy of it elsewhere. Once trashed, re-open ical. This should force it to rebuild its library based on those folders with weird names you saw. Your calendars should be back. Good luck

Sync seems to be playing up on my iMac itunes. Events entered into Calendar on my iphone4 fail to appear in iCal after syncing via iTunes. They must be there however because if I then sync iCal with my ipod via iTunes the missing events appear in Calend

Sync seems to be playing up when I sync my iPhone 4 with my iMac using iTunes. Events entered into Calendar on my iPhone do not appear in Calendar on my mac after syncing. They must be there however since if I then sync Calendar on the mac with iCal on my ipod they appear in calendar on my iPod. Is it justa display problem or am I being a bit thick??!

I have the exact same problem as you (minus the coffee incident) where the phone just turned off. Tried everything you have too and now the above link is showing a 404 page... Can you help me out?
