Imported MP4 HD vid. Added text effects. Want to reexport in same quality. How?

I own a:
Model #: p6140f
Product #: NP192AA-ABA
Software Build #: 93NAv6PrA2
PCBRAND: HP Pavilion
I imported an MP4 HD (1080p) video. I then added some text effect layers, and want to export the comp in 1080p as well. Yet, when I try File > Export > MPEG-4 I always get low quality, audioless files.
Comp settings: Pixel Aspect Ratio- HD 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 (1.33), Resolution - Full (1920 x 1080, 7.9 MB 8bpc frame.
When I export to MP4, I have the option of file format: MP4 or MP4 (ISMA).
When I select MP4, My video format choices are: None, MPEG-4 Basic, MPEG-4 Improved or H.264. Data Rate: Optional (256 kbt/s stardard). Image Size: anywhere from 160 x 120, 176 x 144 QCIF, or what I want, 1920 x 1080 HD. Frame Rate: 8-60 or custom.
When I select MP4 (ISMA). My video format choices are: None, MPEG-4 Basic or MPEG-4 Improved. Data Rate: Again Optional (256 kbt/s stardard). Image Size: anywhere from 160 x 120 to 352 x 288 CIF. Frame Rate: 8-30 or custom.
Additionally, none of these MP4 files feature sound either.
What is going on here, and how can I correct these problems?
If you need more info don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks,
Yakshire

how can I correct these problems?
You need to read the help, plain and simple:
Basics of rendering and exporting
You don't use Export, you use the Render Queue and Adobe's native H.264/ MP4 encoders.

  • Adding Text Effects to Photos in iMovie 09

I am making a movie in iMovie 09 from photos. I have 940 pictures with lead in effects and text over the pictures. I have not added music yet and am about half way through the 940 photos and iMovie will not allow me to add text to any more pictures. Is their a limit on how many pictures can be in the show? the movie is currently 1 hr and 10 minutes long. Possibly their is a time limit? Any suggestions are welcome.....

    blakespot,
Make sure you click in the margin away from the main text body to avoid accidentally pasting or creating the text box inline.
You can also select the text box and go:
    +Inspector > Wrap (3rd tab) > Object Placement > Floating+
To make the picture and caption stick together, select both:
    +Menu > Arrange > Group+

  • Keyboard - Turning off Insert mode that deletes added text

Hi, I have an iMac 2.80Ghz dual, 4 GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.2.
Problem is most assuredly because I’m a Windows to Mac convert.
Keyboard (USB aluminum thin plug-in keyboard) is in mode where all characters are deleted in front of the cursor - equal to Windows “insert” key being activated.
Checked the keyboard chart for new Mac users.
Fn and Enter do not make any difference.
Have done this in and outside of num lock being on.
This is really driving me nuts. I do a LOT of typing and when I need to edit something, it’s killing me that everything gets deleted instead of just adding text!
What am I doing wrong? How can I turn off the “insert” mode that is deleting everything instead of adding text where my cursor is pointed?
I’m sure it’s something like there’s a screw loose between my Mac and my chair.
Thanks for help in pointing me in the right direction.

It’s not all software - I discovered this later in the day yesterday.
I had been working in Sun’s Open Office inside of Fusion. Have to work in Fusion with Open Office because use a transcription/time coding software that is Windows-based and haven’t found one that is comparable for Mac other than InqScribe and I don’t much care for InqScribe.
Once I shut down Open Office and reopened it, the insert problem had finally resolved itself.

  • Adding Bubble text effect

    Hi there
Does anyone know if and how you can add bubble text effects to still images on FCE? Or is there a program out there that you can do it in and then import into FCE?
    Thanks

use any paint-app (Photoshop/Elements, Pixelmator, Graficconverter, ... ) which supports transparency; paint your bubble; export as png or tiff (=which keeps the background transparent); add that to your project/timeline.. with some keyframes, you can even 'popp' it into scenery (zoom to zil, a few frames later zoom it too big, a few frames later final size.....)
I'm using the Comic-maker Comiclife http://plasq.com/comiclife/ for creating some very comic-like bubbles .. I have to export the grafics and prepare in Pixelmator ..

  • Muse: Issue: Text Effects options (Drop Shadow, etc) are always disabled.

    Hello,
I am a new Muse user and I have been using the Learn Tutorials here on helpx.adobe.com to teach myself Muse.
I have a strange problem. When following through the "Apply Effects to Text" tutorial at: Adding effects to text | Adobe Muse CC tutorials, the options to add a drop shadow are not enabled. On advice from folks on Twitter, I tried the same using System Fonts, Web Fonts and Web Safe fonts. None of them seem to work.
I am attaching a video capture of the issue.
    Please help :-(

That's worse. If I set Stroke to 1 (you can only do that on the Text Frame and not the text itself), then the Text Effects do get enabled. BUT, the effect is applied to the entire text frame instead of just the text. See this:
I want the drop shadow for the text not the frame (like how Photoshop does it).

  • Why is a layer blending mode result altered by adding and effect?

I've done a search online and haven't come up with an answer but does anyone
know why a layers blending mode result is altered by adding an effect?
I am using CS3 on a PC (Windows XP SP2) and have two layers; one a Tiff and
a second a text layer with an ambient light and a spot shining on them. Both
layers have 3D turned on and accept lights and are in the same position in
    space.
To make the text, which is coloured black, sit better I changed the layers
blend mode to soft light which works well.
I wanted to soften the edge of the text a little so I added a Fast Blur
effect and suddenly the result of the blend was completely different. If I
turn off the effect it goes back to what it was before but even if the Fast
Blur is set to zero, ie no blur on the layer, the blend result is altered.
Does anyone know what's going on?

Many thanks for that. I tried the Box Blur but it too shifted the result of <br />the blend. In the end, to get this job out of the door, I changed the colour <br />of the text to orange, lowered the opacity and used Multiply as the layer <br />blend mode. Adding the Fast Blur effect to this didn't shift the result of <br />the blend mode. It's not as sexy a look as using Soft Light but it works.<br /><br />I wonder if it's something going on with the maths or this a real bug?<br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Presumably a bug that uses the blur's convolution kernel when it <br />> shoulddn't. • Shape Layer to 3D Text Effect

    Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way that I can create a shape layer to and give it the 3D text effect.  To further explain, I created some text in Photoshop, but for it to be stylized, I did it with the pen tool so my words are shape layers instead of text layers.  Im also using CS6 normal and not extended, so I don't have that 3D option at the top.  If there is a method for this, I would greatly appreciate the help.  Thank you!
Examples of what I'm going for:
    http://maxcdn.photoshoplady.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Clean-3D-Text-Effect-Creation-u sing-CS6-L.png
    http://vanimg.s3.amazonaws.com/0613-text-15.jpg

I didn't look at your example until after I made the demo image, but you could work it to produce that effect.
What we used to make 3D text before we had Photoshop 3D tools, was Free Transform Step & Repeat.  You'll find a bunch of tutorials if you look, but basically:
Make your front shape, make a copy and rasterize the copy. Hide the Shape because you don't need it any more.
    Copy your rasterized shape layer.
Free Transform the copy, and use the size and movement values in the options bar.  For my demo I moved it up a couple of pixels, and resized to 98% horizontally and vertically.
Hold down Shift Alt Ctrl (Shift Opt Cmd) and keep hitting the t key until you have sufficient depth.  You end up with a lot of layers.  My size and movement was a bit course, which you can see from the jaggies on the bottom left of the '3' character.
Select all the 3D layers, and go Layers > Arrange > reverse (you just want to bring your initial layer to the top of the stack.
Select all the other 3D layers and merge them
Give the initial layer a different colour or tone.
You'll want to add some shading, so make a new layer above the merged layers, Ctrl click the merged layers to load the selection, and add a layer mask to the new layer (called shading in my image)
Unlink the layer mask.  This is so we can blur our shading without bleeding past the text boundries.
I prefer to paint in the shading because you can blur and adjust opacity.  Paint it in with a hard brush for accuracy, and use a LOT of blur (Gaussian 10)
You might need multiple layers and selections to control the different faces, but I just finished off with the Dodge tool.
Having the front face and body on different layers, means you can mess about with layer styles, or colorize with a hue/saturation layer.
A bit more dodge and burn with some careful masking and perhaps a curves layer set to luminosity...  You have the building blocks and can keep adding to them.

  • Adding Text to DVD itself

I have figured out how to add the movie itself but want to add text before the movie starts such as credits. I am using a MP4 file for the movie, and a logo created in MP4. So I want to have a DVD that is Logo, Title and Text of credits, Movie, and end Credits. How do I do this?

    Hello monarchfilms,
all this should be done in iMovie, before importing to iDVD. In iMovie you can add titles and pictures and combine them into a movie. In iDVD you simply create a menu and add your previously created movie.
The only thing you can add in iDVD is an autoplay item, which will play before the menu (e.g. FBI warning).
"I am using a MP4 file" Although it's possible to use MPEG-4 files, I would recommend using DV format (less compression)
    hope this helps

  • ITunes will not import mp4-files.

For some reason iTune will not import mp4-files into iTunes. The files only contain audio, no video. I know that mp4 is a format that combines the two.
The files were generated in an earlier version of iTunes, like in 2006 or something. They were imported from CD's. I can locate them just fine on my computer and they play without problem in Windows Media Player.
The problem is that when I try to import them the way that iTunes want me to import files its like they don't exist. ITunes locates the folders and sub-folders, but its like there's no content in the folders...
I've tried changing my import settings but nothing seems to help...
Have any of you encountered a similar problem, could you fix it and how?
I've contacted Apple-support but they were unable (incompetent) to assist me...
To me it seems like the only option left is to convert all the files, like 2 GB, from mp4 to mp3.
Thankful for any help I could get solving this ***** of an issue...
    //Magnus

iTunes can handle just about any file format that works with QuickTime and will play any file purchased or downloaded from the iTunes Store. If you've got video files that end with a .mov, .m4v, or .mp4 file extension, you can import them to iTunes with ease. However, the video especially the MP4 video must meet the following specifications: it must be encoded as 540 kbit/s (minimum) MPEG-4 video (H.264) with an approximately 128 kbit/s AAC audio track or encoded as 1.5 Mbit/s (minimum) MPEG-4 video (H.264) with a minimum 128 kbit/s AAC audio track. If not, you will fail to import MP4 to iTunes.
Even if your MP4 files meet the above specifications and are added to iTunes successfully, it may still fail to sync to iOS devices. For iPhones, iPads, and video-capable iPods play videos in more specific video formats and codecs.

  • Adding Text to Turntable Smart Build

Can anyone help me with adding the "turntable" effect in Smart build? I'm trying to add text as a header to each photo I add in the smart build, so that it moves with the picture, but I can't do it. Is there something I'm missing?

If the photo is grouped with a text box, you can paste this grouped image into the Smart Build to produce the effect you want.
Drag the photo onto the slide, add a text box with the header text you want, group that box with the image, and then copy and paste that image into the spot in the Smart Build.

  • How can I import mp4 to iMovie 09?

What I'm doing is going to File -> Import -> Movies and clicking on the .mp4 file on my desktop. In iMovie, the loading bar opens for a brief second saying "desktop" with a blank bar, and then it goes away leaving iMovie sitting there as if nothing happened. I've tried free converters but haven't had much luck unfortunately
Also, will I be able to import this to FCP X? I'm very close to buying it, and if I can import mp4 I probably will. I'm not very good at editing, but I feel that I could learn FCP X easier than FCP 7.

I sometimes work in FCE, so the layout is almost identical the old FCP, it is nothing like iMovie learning curve was steep the first week or so. Toughest ones to memorize were the ripple roll, slip, slide tools for me.
The new iMovie got so powerful with filters and CoreVideo, that it kinda beats the purpose of FCE usage for me. But the Live Type app is a joy to play with - the font made out of smoke, fire or popping daisies is exquisite.
The most discouraging thing in FCE or FCP is the amount of time you will spend editing - if you want to do it right and play with it, you will spend days because they have so many powerful options to try and tweak. That was the biggest shocker for me. I find myself resorting to simplicity and speed of iMovie editing. Shoot the vid, run it through iMovie, let it do its thing, share to Apple TV and be done with it. It's simple, yet much faster to work with, if you don't care about making perfect movies. Kids and work leave me no choice, but to edit at night. FCE has become more of a chore than fun for me. If there is anything people underestimate while purchasing this is how dedicated they are to this hobby. Or not.
If you do editing for gigs, then it's a no brainer. iMovie is a toy compared to FCP.
FCPX yes or no? It's your choice, really.

Great! It looks real good now.
BTW.. I use sWish Max for text effects because it has a whole
lot of built-in effects in the program. Flash doesn't have nearly
    as
good of a set of text effects as sWish does. You can do some
really fancy spinning and rotating etc of text without doing much
    work
at all in sWish. Once the text effects are the way I want
them I import the swf file into Flash.

  • Adding Text to Movie

How do you add texting, besides titles to your iMovie.
Also, is it possible to do a just a picture movie not like actual movies?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Not fully sure what you mean by adding text other than by titling. You could produce slides in something like photoshop with your text on, but I honestly believe that titling will do more or less all you want in this area (excepting special effect titles). If you want text over a black or coloured background, titling will do this for you, all you need is a black or other background.
If by picture movie you mean a slideshow, then yes imovie can do this, you simply need to use stills rather than video. One note of caution though is that imovie can be a little time consuming with very short slides (say 1/2 second or less) under which circumstances other editing applications may be more suitable.

  • What listener do you use for adding text to JTextField?

what listener do you use for adding text to JTextField?
I have a component which adds some text to my JTextField, and I want to pick up this event. I have tried ActionListener with no effect.

  • Drop Down Text Effects

    Hi there.
I'm created topics currently that have drop down text effects in them.
Basically, I have a title which has got a little image next to it (a plus expand sign image).
When you click either the image of the title text, the drop down text appears as intended.
Is there anyway I can get it, so that when you click either the text or the image, the image changes to be a minimise image?
The screenshots below demonstrate what I mean a bit clearer.
    Thanks very much,
    Craig

    Hi Craig
All I can say is that the script or whatever simply isn't finding the image if you are viewing from the compiled CHM. When you compile, you need to ensure that everything is in the place it needs to be. For example, maybe you have a folder in your project and you added the image to the folder. But in reality, it's looking for the image in the project root. Because the image is in the folder, it cannot be found.
I'd suggest a double-check of things just to be certain.
    Cheers... Rick
