Imported mp4 into GB but no sound. Meters indicate there is playback. Anyone know why there is no sound?

Imported an mp3 file sent to me via email into GB. The meters indicate there is playback and there is wave images on the track but to sound. The file does play in iTunes without a hitch. Any suggestions? I really need to be able to do this since I am collaborating with another writer for a stage production. Thanks!

Ha! Solved the problem in case else has the same issue.
I went to preferences in GB and set sound output to Built0in Output. It had defaulted to "Airplay". That fixed things.

This happened 2 days ago. Before everything was working normal. Since yesterday each time I import a video and drag it to the time line, it only allows me the drag the audio portion of the file. Even those files which I uploaded several days earlier and

Occasionally import video into PR and it turns upside down, bw. Don't know why.

Anyone know how to avoid this or fix it?

operating system is windows 7; no exotic codec. PR is latest, 2014
Creative Cloud. Display doesn't seem to matter. The way I work around
this is by pulling up previous PR projects that didn't have the problem,
and using them, rather than a new project. At the moment, I am creating
new projects without a problem. Earlier today the black and white with
inverted image was happening.

Onboard Sound Cuts out after a while - anyone know why?

Hiya peeps,
Ever since I bought my MSI motherboard, the onboard sound has been a bit dodgy. Whenever I play games like UT2004 or halflife, the sound cuts out after several minutes of play. It only comes back again if I restart the game, but then after a few minutes it will cut out again. Anyone else experienced this?
I have tried altering all the game settings from safe mode sound drivers to full EAX H/W accelerated but this has made no difference to the stability of the audio. I have been updating all the drivers to my system as and when MSI live update picks them up, os I am up to date on that front. I have a lot of decent kit (PSU etc) in my machine and its not overclocked in any way at all. Also I have the most up to date direct x too.
My system spec is below, please help chaps.
PS im trying here as MSI have not responded to any of my email queries about this problem.

Nothing is overclocked and all BIOS setitngs are set to the defaults.

I had the same problem, this is how i fixed it:
Uninstall everything relating to the drivers for your sound from both the control panel AND the device manager, do not let windows PnP install ANY drivers. Then manually install the latest drivers, not from live update, but from MSI's website, then run the installer package. Make sure you reboot at every step, since that's what I did, and no more sound cut-out.
See, we have many of the same specs in our computers, this is probably the same issue I had.

Wi-Fi works BUT I have to continuously reconnect to network anyone know why?

I heard about the Wi-Fi issues and I'm not sure of the details but my Wi-Fi only IPad 3 is working fine. However, after putting my iPad down and picking it back u maybe 5 minutes later it is once again not connected to the network. I've had iPod touch's, iPhones, and iPads for years so I'm not much of a noob but do you know if this also is a problem or maybe something I'm not fixing in regards to something I need to press in settings?

No it's not plugged in. Just when I don't mess with it for a few minutes I pick it back up and the wifi is disconneed again. I'm also having trouble getting my email. There is no longer a button to push to have it check manually for mail so I have to wait for it and it seems it won't send any mail.

Importing mp4 into Flash 8, converting to FLV

I just finished taking a Flash Video class where I understood
I could import an MP4 and convert in to an FLV using encoding tools
that come with Flash Professional 8. However, I opened a new FLA
just now and tried to import an MP4 (File -> Import Video),
Flash would not recognize the sample MP4 I have sitting on my
desktop.
I downloaded a demo copy of On2 FlixPro and it did recognize
the MP4, is converting it to an FLV as I write this.
Did I misunderstand about importing MP4s into Flash 8
Professional? Is it in fact not possible. Or might there have been
something I didn't do or didn't do correctly before importing? If
so, what might it have been?

The MP4 file extension does not appear in the filetype
filter of the
Import dialog, but if you select "All Files (*.*)," that
should work. I've
imported MP4s (they're MPGs, after all), but the extension
doesn't appear
under the "All Video Formats" choice. (I'm hoping this is
what you mean by
"would not recognize," anyway.)

How to import MP4 into iMovie09

You will need to convert it to something that iMovie can edit.
1) The first step is to see if QuickTime can play it. See if you can open it in QuickTime Player.
If you can, Proceed to Step 3
2) If QuickTime cannot play it, I would try to download a set of open source codecs called Perian. They will handle many odd codecs like this. Go to Perian.ORG and download them. Then go back to step 1.
Note: If Perian does not work for you, come back for some more ideas.
3) Once QuickTime can play it, you need to convert it to something iMovie can edit. If you have QuickTime Pro, use that. If you would prefer a free alternative, download MPEG STREAMCLIP from Squared 5. Drag the 3G2 clip into MPEG Streamclip and then FILE/Export to QuickTIme...
Choose Apple Intermediate Codec (for highest quality) or choose h.264 (for smallest file size) and save it in a place you can find it.
4) Now open iMovie, and use FILE/IMPORT...MOVIES to import the converted file into iMovie for editing.

That WON'T convert it.
If I do the same with an MP3 and change the extension to JPG, it DOESN'T make it a picture. It makes it unusable.
Change it back to AVI and download "Handbrake". http://handbrake.fr/
Use HandBrake to "convert" it to M4V.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I'm new to video editing but I think I recall seeing an option in FCPX which lets you choose the video quality for the preview window. I think the window reduces the quality when playing back for performance reasons and so perhaps that is why it seems to have less quality when moved over to FCPX? Just a possibility, I'm sure one of the more experienced users can confirm or deny this theory.

Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
