Imported music from a CD does add to library, stays in Recently Added playlist

Imported music from a CD does add to library, stays in Recently Added playlist.

Having the same problem. Album imported on CD won´t appear in my music on Itunes! It´s in the Itunes files and in the Recently Added folder, but it won´t appear!
I can play it from the outside file! So frustrating.

  • All music i add only shows up in recently added playlist not in the main library, how do i get it to main library?

    ?

    Hi ft_wesadaguy,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you see songs in your Recently Added playlist, they should also appear in your iTunes library. First, double-check that you're viewing your music library:
To view the contents of your iTunes library, click the Library pop-up menu near the top-left of the iTunes window, and choose a type of media to view (Music, Movies, and so on).
    From:
iTunes 11 for Windows: iTunes library
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12402
Additionally, make sure that the "songs" category is selected at the top of iTunes.
If you've confirmed that songs in your playlist do not appear in your iTunes library, I recommend re-creating the library using the steps in this article:

  • Delete songs from iTunes library from "recently added" playlist

can you please add a function that removes songs from both the entire library and the recently added playlist by simply right clicking a song while in the "Recently Added" playlist that has the "Delete" function. this is very simple and would make iTunes that much more user friendly.
    thanks!
i have no idea where else to submit suggestions like this, apple people aren't user-friendly enough.

can you please add a function that removes songs from both the entire library and the recently added playlist by simply right clicking a song while in the "Recently Added" playlist that has the "Delete" function
We are only other users, such as yourself.
You can send suggestions to Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Press *Shift Delete* to delete songs from a playlist and also from the library.
    (from your signature block)
    pc, duh
Not really "duh". I have a pc and it is a Macintosh.
The idea is to put correct info in your signature to help with problems you may be having As an example, if you had problems with your iTunes library disappearing and your signature showed "Sony Vaio", immediately we would know the Sony media software is the problem.
    why do you care
So we don't have to ask when you post a question.

  • ITunes freezes when importing music from CD and also when playing,

Just recently iTunes has started to freeze when importing music from a CD - it just stops and the progress bar remains as it it. The whole mac then freezes and I get the spinning beachball. I can't use any other application. The same thing is happening when I play music - it's ok for a song or two and then freeze and the beachball appears. I've downloaded iTunes again and reinstalled and it's just the same. Using Safari and Mail etc is no problem at the moment.
I also have a problem getting the iMac to recognise external hard drives - it won't show them on either firewire 400 or 800. I can see my 1TB drive using usb ( it shows up on the desktop, whereas on firewire it doesn't do this) but if I try to open it and see the contents in finder, it opens, but doesn't dispaly the contents of the drive. I can see the disk size but just get a grey spinning wheel in the bottom right hand of the finder window. Timemachine does not work.

I have had the same problem & itunes crashes when i try to import a file. Now i can't even start itune. I've reinstalled itunes so many times, without a fix, I've lost count.
I did post and had no reply. I'll watch this post with interest.

  • How to I extract my music from an iPod and add it to the library if it's not linked to the original ID anymore?

I have an ipod previously linked someone else's account. We used to share the library and they used to update my iPod for me. Now I have my own ID and laptop with iTunes. How to I extract my music from the iPod and add it to the library ?  At present, I cannot do it because I am not authorised on the account the music was orginally purchased on - but I have my iPod still.
Is there anyway for me to extract the music files from my iPod and download them into my new iTunes library and using my own Apple ID?
Help!  I paid for most of this stuff but they left with their computer and now I can't even update my iPod!
    Thanks

Unless you want to learn more than most of us want to know about being a good geek, you'll need a third-party software utility to do that. CopyTrans worked well for me when I moved songs from an old iPod to a new computer for a friend.
So 1.) set up your (PC?) computer with iTunes, 2.) get something like CopyTrans which imports the stuff from your iPod to iTunes on your computer, 3.) make sure all the files from your iPod got copied, and then 4.) set iTunes to be the Mother Ship, which will then write all your old and future stuff to your iPod.
Make sure you've 5.) tested a backup strategy for your iTunes library going forward, because Apple would prefer you'd buy everything again from them. iTunes no longer has a good, native backup utility.

  • Is it possible for me to import music from my pc?

I have been able to import any music off of my pc that I had downloaded from the internet. The problem is that it seems all of my full albums (wva files) say they are downloading, but I cannot find them in my itunes library. The only thing that has worked so far is burning the wva files onto a disc from my pc, and then downloading them to my itunes library on my mac.
    I have already tried:
    1-File sharing on the network
2-Using a flash drive to transfer
    What can/should I do?

HELP! I am using a Mac running OS 10.4.10 NOT a PC.
Somehow my question got lost as I did NOT ask "Is it possible for me to import music from my pc?"
    Here's my question again:
I want to place a piece of music that I purchased from iTunes [ocean sounds] in iWeb AND to play that sound clip continutously.
In iTunes I am able to have the sound repeat. In iTunes, with the repeat song selected, I dragged the clip from iTunes into iWeb.
In iWeb I am able to play the ocean sounds but the piece does NOT repeat.
    A. How do I get the piece to play continuously?
    B. How do I enable the sound to begin playing when the iWeb page is opened?
    Thanks

  • Using External CD Rom drive to import music from CD to Itune

I have itunes 6.0 on an XP laptop, and an external TDK DVD/CDrom drive. Itunes imports music from CDs when I use the drive on the laptop, however, only imports links (seem like URL links) when I use the external drive to import music from a CD into a playlist.
I am trying to use the external CD rom drive for importing music into Itunes, but there seems to be a problem, or I have not checked some box or the other. Can someone help??
    Thanks

First, Jaguar does not come on a DVD. The standard Jaguar release comes on two CDs. What you probably have is a gray color OEM DVD or a copy that was made for a specific Mac model and will not work with your computer. Furthermore, in order to run OS X on your computer you must first install a firmware update.
You also need at least 128 MBs of RAM for OS X and at least 3 GBs of free space on the hard drive during installation. Your particular model requires that OS X be installed on a drive or partition that is less than 8 GBs. If your hard drive is larger than 8 GBs it must be partitioned such that the first partition is no larger than 7.85 GBs and OS X must be installed in that partition. The drive must also be formatted Mac OS Extended (HFS+).
Furthermore, you cannot boot OS X from a USB drive, only from a Firewire drive.
You will need to get the correct Jaguar installers. You can purchase the right package at www.applerescue.com. Your particular model is compatible with Panther thru 10.3.9. Panther would be a better choice than Jaguar because it is much faster even on your iMac. However, OS X will not be very fast on your computer because it lacks CPU speed and video horsepower. If you continue to install OS X, then you should plan to install the maximum of 512 MBs of RAM that iMac supports.

  • Problem Importing Music from

Hello, I just setup my network attached storage and I'm having problems importing music from it. I get a runtime error with CTImport.exe "abnormal program termination", nice and informati've (see below). I'm running MediaSource 3.30.2, the most recent version. I can add songs little by little, but anytime I try and import a bunch, I get the error. It's not the length of the pathname either, because I added the longest one individually, and it was fine.
I tried importing from a mapped dri've letter and from the network path directly, both have same problem. I also get the same error from the file sniffer built into MediaSource.
I'm actually running an external USB hard dri've that is attached to Linksys's Storage Link NLSU2 (or something). Don't know if that is the problem. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    <IMG src="http://www.dustinandalison.com/Ebay Pics/MediaSourceError.JPG">

Yes, I originally had all my songs on my local dri've. Anyway, it turned out to be a "corrupt" file. This file was fine in every other media player I had, but MediaSource couldn't do anything with it, not even play it (it was an unprotected .wma). I don't know if that song was originally imported while on the local dri've, but I deleted it and MediaSource imported everything fine.
It was a pain hunting that one song down.
    Thanks.

  • Importing music from MobileMe

I have already transferred the songs I want from my PC Desktop computer to my MobileMe account. Now when I try to import these songs from MobileMe to iTunes on my MacBook, either no songs are imported or roughly half of them find their way into my Library. When I first tried to import these files, I opened iTunes, clicked "file + add to library..." and iDisk appeared under Devices. I think somewhere along the line I accidentally deleted iDisk from this location. I can still find it when I search for iDisk, and all of my files are still on my iDisk, but I still can't get the songs into my Library. After half of the songs were imported, I deleted them all so I could try again without importing the same song twice (the songs in my library weren't even in the same order as the songs on my iDisk), so now I'm left with an empty Library and no idea on how to import my songs.

Bottom line: How can I import music from MobileMe?

  • I cannot add music from my computer onto my itunes library.

I cannot add music from my computer onto my itunes library. I have tried dragging the songs, importing them, going to Add files and Add folders, copy and pasting. They just won't turn up in my itunes library.

You don't say where you are having problems.  The best answer will depend upon what exactly you are trying to do.  If you are trying to add one or two files, copy them to a flash drive, then drag them from the drive to an iTunes playlist.  If you are trying to move your whole library that requires a different answer.
Note .wma files will work with iTunes on a PC but cannot be added to a Mac iTunes.  Convert them to another format on the PC first (but I don't think you can do that if they are protected format).

  • Cannot import music from cd

    itunes 11.4 (18)  /  Mac os x 10.9.5
For some reason, itunes has stopped importing music from music cd's. It will recognise the cd, download the track names, but when I go to import the songs, the import process just skips through the tracks, witout actually importing the music. The my iTunes library will then show that music is in there, but the tracks are all between 10-80kb and contain no music.
wondering if anybody else is having this issue And / or knows how to rectify it?

    Hello Josh,
So with songs not importing I can think of two troubleshooting options. The first is change the way iTunes imports the songs; either MP3 or AAC format should work. If that still does not work then I would look at the second article for troubleshooting the SuperDrive on your Mac.
