Imported songs show in "recently added" but not in the general "music" tab

I imported two Amy Winehouse albums to iTunes, adding to one of her albums I already had. When I order my list in iTunes by "artist", I only see one Amy Winehouse album, which I added long ago. The only way I can see the new albums I imported is to look under "recently added". If I look in the iTunes folder, under music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Music/Amy Winehouse all 3 albums appear.
How do I get the new albums to appear in the general "music" tab without having to look in "recently added"? Thanks... chas

Go to the top of this page, click "Support", then type back up itunes" ore similar in the search bar. I believe that the support site is down for the moment but it will be back.
or.. You can drag the entire itunes folder to your backup drive/disk.
or..From itunes File>Library>Backup to disk

Artist show in recently added but not in artist list

I have an imac, early 2012 model with the most recent updates (Maverick I think it's called). And an iphone 4S with the most recent update.
I recently added two cd's into iTunes. One cd shows the artist and all info in the artist list. The other does not show in the artist list, but Does show in recently added, complete with all info. This cd was downloaded (and paid for) from the Artists website as an mp3 320. In order to put it on my iphone, I had to make a playlist and add that to the iphone. I also tried making an AAC version, but that didn't help. Any ideas why this might be?
Btw, all the artist info etc... populated on it's own and it looks like All the files imported.

I had the same trouble, and tried various things including a restore from back-up, with no success.
I then had a closer look at the "Get Info" section of the troubled artist.
The 'Artist Name' and 'Album Name' were correctly defined in the 'Info' tab ,
howerver, in the 'Options' tab I notied that the 'Part of a Compilation' dropdown box
was set to "Yes". So, I changed this to "No" and left the check box selected, and then clicked "OK".
I re-checked the 'Get Info/Options' part again to ensure the change had taken affect(which it had).
I then disconnected and reconnected my Iphone 5 followed by a "SYNC" which successfully applied
the above changes to my phone and hence solved the problem.

Check the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.

1) From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Tracks only show in recently added? not music library

anything i add to itunes will show in recently added (or play list) and play fine but do not show in music library? Show in finder will display items where they should be in music folder in finder. Searching through the recently added playlist is not as much fun as it sounds when you have hundreds of tracks. Double clicking on track in finder will open track in itunes under recently added playlist, will not show under music library

Yes, it is a known bug.
By design,iTunes can only have a song in a playlist if it is also in the library. However, due to the intermittent bug, sometimes newly added songs do not display in the Music library list.
Some people report that a system restart (sometimes more than one is needed) will get the display back to normal.

Ripped CD in iTunes Mac in "recently added" but NOT visible in "music" or searchable?

Put the CD in. Rip using normal pop up iTunes window. Done -- CD ejects. See new songs / album in "recently added". Do NOT see it in "music"! Can't search it by name of artist or anything. The files are there on disk in my iTunes Music folder -- they got ripped. Recently added sees the files. Why not the rest of iTunes?
Side note: I'm also running Sonos and iTunes Match. BOTH of these see the new artist, album and songs and can play them (for Match on my iPad). Just not the original iTunes doing the ripping in the first place?!

OK, so the thing that appears to be missing is the library entries, not the files.
As you know, iTunes is designed so that a track can only be in a playlist if it is also in the library. So, you can be sure the songs are in the library.
However, you may have encountered the recent bug where the library does not completely display. Try closing iTunes and restarting it. If that does not help, restart your machine. One guy reported that he had to do this a few times in order to solve the porblem:

If you see songs in your Recently Added playlist, they should also appear in your iTunes library. First, double-check that you're viewing your music library:
To view the contents of your iTunes library, click the Library pop-up menu near the top-left of the iTunes window, and choose a type of media to view (Music, Movies, and so on).

Additionally, make sure that the "songs" category is selected at the top of iTunes.

I've downloaded a song and it shows up on two devices, but not on the third. Does anyone know why this might happen and how to move it to the third device?

The first thing that comes to mind, is that on the third device, you do not have the option at settings> music> automatic downloads checked.

Remove the data which is recently loaded, but not disturbing the original

Hello Experts!!
I have few tables in Oracle 9i/10g , and they already have data in them. I am trying to migrate the data coming from variuos source systems into these Oracle tables. There is a chance that after loading I might get some unwanted data into these tables.
How do I remove just that data which I have loaded recently, and do not distrub the original data it already has.
Lot of people have adviced me to backup those tables and reload the data back if there is any problem, but I am looking at a different approach. I just dont want to change the existing system, as lot of users use the system.
Could anyone help me solving this issue.

I can't delete songs from my library unless I'm in the bulk "music" tab. This will cost me hours of time to sort through. Help!

I used to be able to delete songs from my library from any playlist by holding ALT and pressing BACKSPACE. Now, this only works in the bulk "Music" tab which lists every single item in my entire playlist. I have about 300 items in my playlist that need to be deleted (They are remnants of deleted files and no longer point to an existing file location). I have a smart playlist that collects all these items, and in the past I would periodically just delete the contents of that list from the whole library. Now I can't do that. I thought of trying to modify all the items under a common album title so I could find the whole group in the "Music" tab and delete them there, but iTunes won't let me modify them because they don't have a valid file path. (That's exactly the reason I'm trying to delete them! AARGH!)
The only alternative I can think of is to look up every single item individually and manually delete them one by one, which would amount to a few hours of wasted time. I'm so frustrated. I don't understand why each progressive installment of iTunes does away with features that were helpful and useful when they existed. I feel like Apple hates me.Can anyone help me?

Why are my videos showing up in "Recently Added" but not in TV Shows or Movies?

I didn't have a problem adding videos to iTunes for several months, but now videos are not appearing in the right places. For some reason, they appear in the Recently Added playlist, but they are not showing up in the Movies section (which is where they had all gone before). The video plays fine if I play the file from Recently Added.
The files are mp4 format converted with Handbrake, which I have used for a long time without issue.
2011 iMac OSX 10.7.3 & iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
My research into the issue has found that some users experience metadata info missing from files. I ran some of the recommended programs that automatically add metadata to videos, but still had no luck adding. The issue is with every single mp4 file I add, and it just suddenly started.
If I click "Get Info" on a file, they are listed as being sorted as a Movie. If I change it to TV Show or Music Video then click OK, no changes are saved and file goes no where.
I get no Error Message when adding to iTunes.
I hope I have provided enough information. I'm eager to hear your answers!

Update:
Still having issues getting new videos to show in the "Movies" or "TV Shows" categories of iTunes. However, last night I discovered that Home Sharing on my iPad lists the newly imported videos in the Movies category (iPad & Video app). So, the files aren't corrupt or anything like that. It just seems like I need to 'refresh' the Movies page. Is that possible?
Since I can see the files on the iPad now, I want to remove the extra copies of movies I imported. But, since I can only find them in Playlists, how can I delete them?

How to view songs that were recently downloaded, but not yet assigned to a play list?

I am using the new iTunes, version 11.0.2. In the older version, there was a category for last downloads. This allowed me to to view all the downloads in one place then assign them to a playlist. Is this hidden somewhere or there is another way to see the downlods then move them?

You cannot clear the Purchased playlist unless you delete the songs from your library. It is a smart playlist with all your purchases.
Create a new smart playlist.
Limit to x items/size by most recently added.

Pics showing on my camera but not in the Aperture import browser

There are ten or so pictures at the end of a day's shooting which are still showing on my camera but when the SD card is plugged into the Mac, according to Aperture they don't exist.
Camera is Fuji X100, card is SanDisk Extreme Pro 16GB.
I've searched for answers in Discussions and I've seen filters mentioned, but there don't seem to be any in operation.
Can anyone help? Many thanks!

UPDATE - I've sorted it. I unchecked 'Do not import duplicates', and they all appeared. They had obviously been already imported into another project and I hadn't realised.
