Imported Songs with high time numbers

I have a new cd drive. When importing cd's now, the "time" listed is around 789 minutes. When I click on one of these songs, it skips over them and goes to the first "normal" timed song. Help!

Imported songs from CD have incorrect time. 5 of 12 songs were incorrect. When I insert the CD, the display times are all shown correctly. After import, the listing in my library is incorrect. The time is way off for these five songs (e.g.5:48 vs 789:57:13). I've tried modifying the stop time under get info options tab, but the library time remains incorrect. I've tried importing the CD several times with the same result.

For the titles to imported correctly you need to make sure that you still have Asian language support activated in your OS and also that the ID3 tags are correctly encoded.

  • Imported songs with problems.

My imported songs from my CDs (they are original CDs) aren't 100% ok. They get some sound problems from times to times, as if the CD is scratched.
But I've tested many CDs so far and this is a general problem. What to do?

Nevermind, I think I found the problem.
I was playing the imported songs while I was importing other songs.

  • IPhoto imports QT with wrong time from Panasonic FX7

IPhoto does not correctly import the time for audio comments recorded with my Panasonic FX7 camera. Does anyone know of a fix (including an Automator program)?
These comments are saved as QT movies (with a still picture naturally, not moving) and are seen in iPhoto as being made seven hours earlier than they actually were. I do not have this problem with either still pictures or "real" QT movies made with the camera (i.e., movies that are recorded in movie mode with motion).
I checked the creation date of the QT files and they are correct in Finder, but I am told by AppleCare that the date iPhoto uses comes from the embedded data within the file. I suspect the problem is that iPhoto thinks that the date/time field (which I cannot see) is UTC (the new name for GMT or Greenwich Mean Time) time, whereas it is probably local time -- which is seven hours behind UTC time right now. Assuming that's the case, iPhoto would subtract seven hours from the correct local time -- which is what I am seeing in iPhoto.
Unfortunately Panasonic is not one of the supported cameras for iPhoto. Hopefully Apple will add support for Panasonic cameras since they are likely to be a bigger player in the digicam market. I was dubious about a Consumer Electronics company making high quality cameras, but when I researched this purchase last Spring, to my surprise, Panasonic was rated better than Olympus (my previoius two digicams) and all other brands in the category for which I was shopping.

When you say your Library, do you mean in the iPhoto Window?
    1. Try the options at View -> Sort Photos
    2. iPhoto should be reading the photos by the Date they were Taken not the date they were imported. If you wan to see them by the date they were imported, use the Roll view.

  • Search iTunes music library specifically for songs with "Stop Time" selected in Options?

I made a burn to cd playlist where each song played only the first minute.  Now, I want to restore those songs back to playing the full time, and the playlist and cd are MIA.  But, those songs in the main music library still have the stop time marked.
Is there a way to search just for songs that have that check-marked?

No. Sort the library on duration, select all tracks that are 1 minute long, Get Info. Put a tick against the blank Stop Time box on the Options tab and click OK.

  • Newbie asks:  how do I create a song with mixed time signatures?

I need to use some sort of app (GarageBand 2.x or 3.x) or something more beefy if need be, in order to create some songs that have mixed meters (i.e. a couple of bars of 4/4, then a bar of 2/4, then some more 4/4, then some more 2/4.
What have others done to achieve this?

You can use volume automation on your output track.
    1) Open the mixer and click on the button just above the pan knob on the Output strip.  Select "Latch."
    2) As soon as you do this, the Output track will appear in the arrange window below your other tracks.
    3) Press "A" to show automation on your tracks.
    4) Press on the long gray bar beneath the Output track name and select "Volume."
    5) Click anywhere on the yellow automation line to create two nodes and drag the last one down for your fade.
    That should do it.

  • Cannot sync songs with iTunes since activating Match

Since signing up for iTunes Match I cannot sync songs to my iPod Touch or iPad anymore, it forces me to download them from the iCloud, now multiple times since I have multiple devices.  Is there a way to still move music directly from iTunes to my device?

    @bmorgan
stuart is correct.  Enabling match says "erase songs son device" however that is simply apple's way of saying "we will replace those songs with higher bitrate songs form icloud - you don't need to do anything.
itunes match is a service to have your entire library AVAILIBLE any time you have an internet connection - which most people do most of the time.  Match is for those of us who do not want to take up 30 Gb of storage with music we hardly listen to, just for the one instance we want to "hear that song".
do as stuart suggested.  Turn off match on your ios device, sync to itunes, then re-enable itunes match.  the same songs will be there as before (if higher bitrate songs are available, they will download whether you like it or not.  To avoid this, I would replace all matched songs in your computer's library with the icloud versions - this would keep your ios device from wanting to replace music when you turn on itunes match.

  • Import pptx with movable objects?

I was wondering if there was a way to import a pptx file that will still allow me to move and play with the objects (such as add interactions/motion/fade). Is there any way to do this? I know that you can import pptx with "High Fidelity"....
Captivate states it provides "Native support for pptx. All objects used in presentation, including Smart Art and animation will be included"
I choose High Fidelty but am not able to move objects.
Am I understanding this worng or doing something wrong?????
    Please help.
Thank you Captivate experts, you have been my saviour in more than one occasion!

    OK I see...
So I see what your saying, but it really doesn't help me much. Who would have Captivate and not PowerPoint (rhetorical)?
I get it though, PowerPoint is Microsoft and Captivate is Adobe... They dont want to encourage microsoft products too much
Thanks for the input you really helped out a lot...doesn't make my life easier but answerd my lingering question!!!
    Thanks again!

  • Data acquisition with highly accurate GPS time stamping (hh:mm:ss:sss UT)

A research group has developed a data acquisition system dedicated to daily observations of solar phenomena at radio waves using high time resolution (5-100 ms).
First, the analog signal from the antenna (1000-2500 MHz) is sent to a spectrum analyzer (HP8559-A). After that, the analog signal is digitized during 5 minutes in a NI USB-6009 device connected to the PC, before to be stored in a file. By that time, other acquisition data cycle is restarted and so on up to the end of day.
However, we need timestamp (UTC) the solar data at the beginning and end of each sample of 5 milliseconds, during all acquisition process, in order to have the UTC time information of recorded solar events. So, a time resolution of at least 1 ms is required.
A software permit us to read recorded data and visualize corresponding spectra during last 5 minutes. However, we need UTC time information in the format hh:mm:ss.sss UT. Then, UTC millisecond is important for us, but not available yet.
To solve this problem, we are searching for a high accuracy timing GPS receiver (on the order of microseconds or nanoseconds), with at least three significant digits of precision (UT time in milliseconds) and which give us the UTC signal at least each 5 milliseconds or even better (1 ms). However, most GPS receivers only outputs 1 PPS (Pulse Per Second = 1000 millisecond).
Then, we are open to a better addressing on how to solve this problem !!
We know that GPS time synchronization with PXI-6608 can be used to precisely timestamp data acquisition, but we have to solve this problem with a lower cost. Also, we require a PCI interfacing instead of PXI.
Do we have to use a timer card? How do we use a timer, GPS and USB-6009 to timestamp data acquisition? Does the NI PCI-6602 solve the problem?
    Obs:
The data acquisition software was developed in C++ Builder to run on a PC (Pentium III 2 GHz) under Windows XP environment. We used the NI-DAQmxBase driver to sample the signal from the NI USB-6009.
We are sure your expertise can help us on this matter.
    Regards,

I better explain my problem in the thread How to timestamp continuous analog data acquisition using USB-6009 and GPS timing board?
We are considering to use the PCI-1588 or a GPS timing board (low-profile slot too), but I´m not sure that the USB-6009 can be used to solve the problem.
How to syncronize the data acquisition and timestamps using USB-6009 and PCI-1588 with external GPS?
In other thread I would appreciate any suggestions for GPS timing board and PCI-1588 too.
    Regards,
    Lilian

  • Can only import one song at a time from a CD, then get conversion error.

I have been using iTunes for several years to import tracks from CDs.  Until now I have not really experienced any problems - though I have not had need to do so for some time.  I have just tried importing a few new CDs and am experiencing the following problem.
    a)  First track is imported OK.
    b)  iTunes gets about half way through the second track and then errors with this message:
"Error occurred while converting file "<track_name>". An unknown error occurred (-1303)."
    ...followed by:
"The iTunes Library File cannot be saved.  An unknown error occurred (13010)."
    Note:
    1.  The first track is saved in the media folder OK.
    2.  The library file (iTunes Library.xml) is being still being updated with the new track each time.
    3.  I can resume importing the CD with the track that has just failed and it will import OK, but the next track will fail as above.
    4.  The same issue occurs regardless of the the format to which I am converting (I've tried both mp3 and AAC so far).
I am using the latest available version of iTunes for Windows (11.1.3.8).
    I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
I have checked the web for similar instancves of this problem but without success.
    Any ideas??
    Geoff

i also have the same problem.. it's so annoying!
i haven't yet found out why this is happening.. but i have found a way to start adding lots of songs at one time..
in my case, i am adding from my music folders in my C drive.. so i open the folder using 'my computer' and select all the music i want by holding the Ctrl key.. then i make the music folder window smaller and then put my itunes page back up.
while the music folder window is showing on top of the itunes window page, i press control again and click on one of the highlighted songs (which then picks up all the others i have highlighted) and drag them on top of the word LIBRARY (not MUSIC) until it lights up, this then adds my big group of songs to my library in itunes, then i just right click on my ipod section and press sync.
i have a new ipod 30gb and am using the new itunes 7
i never had this problem with my old ipod mini or the itunes version that came with that
    hope this helps

  • After iTunes update it won't import a whole CD, only one song at a time.

I just updated iTunes on a Win 7 64 bit system and now can't import an entire CD. Import stops after 1 or 2 songs, and I get error message "Error occurred while converting the file "(song name)". The disk is not available". I can import the entire CD one song at a time, but cannot get the whole disc to import with one command. Already tried repairing the install and a few other suggestions I found online. Nothing has helped. Any suggestions?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
Although not directly matching your symptoms see also TS2308: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install in case anything there is useful.
You could also try ripping with Windows Media Player to see if the issue is specific to iTunes, or perhaps related to the drive itself or to particular discs. It is always possible that your optical drive has started to fail and can no longer seek reliably.

  • I can't drag and drop iTunes music files into Roxio Jam 6 anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the " " or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? G5 Dual 2 Ghz and OS 10.4.11

Hi. I have not used Roxio Jam for quite a long time and I just wanted to make a few CDs. Jam used to work easily and well. I have a problem. I can't drag and drop iTunes music files anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the "+" or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? I trashed the preferences file and restarted Jam to no avail. I also have selected that Jam should open files with iTunes in the Jam preferences. I have a G5 DP 2Ghz PPC  machine with OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 and Quicktime's version is 7.6.4. I have 2 GB of RAM and the machine has dual 1.25 Ghz. processors plus a 500 GB HD. Can anybody give me any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Larry

    I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.

  • Can't import videos or more than three songs at a time

I updated and among other problems with this update, I can't put videos in itunes anymore. I converted a DVD with videora to put in itunes, and itunes doesn't even try to import the video like it used to. Same thing with bringing in more than three songs at a time. I tried the file>add file and I tried the click and drag method, neither of which worked.

Thank you so much Tamara, I wonder why the folks at help desk for iPhone are not a ware of this answer.. You been very helpful I really appreciated. Happy Holidays to all!

iOS 6 (which runs on the iPhone 5) requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher.
Upgrade OS X on your Mac.
