Imported Video on a Single Frame

Well, I imported movie speccifically a .FLV and when it
imports, the whole movie sits on the timeline under the first
frame. Is there any way I can get this movie to be expanded and
take up the correct amount of time on the timeline? Example: If the
imported a movie 23 secs long, I want it to show up on the timeline
as 23 seconds long.
Thanks ahead!

Yes, you can embed it in the timeline.
Here's a video that I created to explain how to do it:

  • VIDEO OUT OF SINGLE FRAMES ?

I use Premiere Pro CS5 to get video out of my 3d renderings. But I have a bad problem:
I can import numbered picture files to get a clip - which works fine. The single frames have been rendered already 1920x1080 for full HD video.
The problem is - I can´t get a playback within the preview or working window. While the cursor runs smoothly through the frames within the sequence window, the preview window jumps and shows some random frames only.
If I import the exported file back, it will playback smoothly without problem, this way my machine should be capable to do it as it is same resolution, only video instead of single frames.
Anything I can do to get smooth playback of image sequences ?
It doesn´t make much sense to export video first before being able to add sound as I don´t have any control for syncing while the clip is a numbered frame import only.

Thanks a lot for that hint - this way I should consider to get another HD - though there is plenty of  capacity on my 1 TB build in.
I don´t do much video editing yet - don`t even have a camcorder, just trying to do some 3D rendering videos. As these use to have few seconds only I never considered to get additional hd space for that.
Just made another observation - I did a 8 second test rendering overnight at 800 x 450 - this plays fine after being imported. It´s just the native HD rendered 1920 x 1080 that cause that trouble...

  • Imported Video comes in one frame at a time

I am working with a Sony DCR-TRV310 NTSC camera connected to my MacBook Pro (OS10.6.7) through a fire wire cable.  I was able to import the video into iMovie 9 but each frame comes in as a separate clip.  When I press the space bar to view the project, the frames go by very quickly.  The only thing I could think of doing was to slow down the speed of the frame but this will take FOREVER if I have to do it for each frame.
I am looking to edit old home movies that were transferred onto Hi8 tapes on a digital setting.  I was very proficient with earlier versions of iMovie but have not worked with iMovie 9 with imported video.
I have found some of the posts helpful...breaking up projects etc. but could not find anything relating to this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am working on a video of my brother's life for my mom.
    Many thanks,
    Madalyn

I have been doing a lot of reading of the posts and realized that the frame issue is just part of the import process.  What I can't seem to figure out is how to deal with the fast and choppy video.  I have two mac book pros, one with iMovie 9 and one with iMovie 6.  I checked on the available space and it is not an issue as I over 100 GB available on either machine.
Any help on what to do about choppy video would be greatly appreciated.

  • 16:9 Imported video does not fill frame in IMovie 09

I have imported video shot with a Panasonic HVX 400. The raw imported MP4s show up as full screen 16X9 videos when I view them in Quicktime, but as soon as I import them into IMovie they end up with a large black box around them, looking like they're trying to fit them into a 4:3 apsect ratio. I have no idea whats happening. Any suggestions?

I also successfully created a still frame to a new project I created for this purpose.
Move to a frame in your EVENT, control left-click and select "Add Still frame to project" from the pop-up menue. It will be added at the END of your selected project.
After that, I am still trying to find a way to save that still to iPhoto'09 as a photo.

  • Slow video down to single frame, pause a few seconds, then speed back up?

I'm working with a video clip where I'd like to show a single frame for a few seconds. I think I can figure out how to slow down the video for a second or two surrounding the desired frame, but I can't figure out how to pause or freeze it at that point.
I'd like it to be fairly smooth on the slowdown, stop, and start up, I'll also have the audio slow down and stop, I think it will be a neat effect.
    Any good ideas?

A possibility is to use the Time Remap free filter. Use the default Mode (Variable Speed) and keyframe the Speed control from 100% to 0% on the frame you want still, and back to 100%. You can also use the Smooth contextual command on the 0% keyframe to get a smooth speed change.
What the filter does not do, though, is to change the audio speed...

  • IMovie imports video with only still frame

I have converted video files from MTS to MOV and they play fine in quicktime.  But when I import them to iMovie, the video appears as one static frame the whole time while the audio plays fine.  I have tried to convert the files again and import those, but I'm having the same issue.  The format of the files is: H.264, 1920x1080, Millions AAC, 2 channels, 44100 Hz, 23.98.  Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

You might try sending it from QuickTime to iMovie by using File -> Export To -> iMovie...

  • If I want to make a single-frame importer, e.g. - for WebP image format, do I need to implement an SDK importer plugin? Are there any examples?

The title says it all really. Was wondering if there's a simpler interface to implement which does not contain video or audio, but just a still frame image.
I don't care about exporting this format from Premiere, just being able to read a single frame or a sequence of frames to be used as footage.

    Hi Rotem,
A standard importer plug-in is the way to go for a still image importer.  You could start from SDK_File_Import in the SDK.  There is also a WebM plug-in on GitHub:

  • Making a video with single frames

    Hi,
I'd like to make a video with single frames.
One of my computergames is able to take 25 frames per second (or 30, 40 etc.). The game saves the frames in a folder. For one minute there are over 1000 frames.
Now I need to know, how I can tell After Effects that every 25 frames are one seconds.
I just want to make a movie of this game. This will be the easiest way if After Effects can handle with these single frames.
Is it possible? I will be very happy if some can explain me the way to realise my idea.
    Sincerely,
    RazooN

  • Videos become single frame when exporting iPhoto album

I've gotten the hang of how to organize pix and vids in an "album" and get them renamed. Now I just want to give those renamed reordered photos on discs to other people that will be on Mac and PCs. This apparently means using the "export" feature, as burning an album directly from iPhoto won't produce a disc usable by a PC.
"Exporting" the album succeeded in making a new folder elsewhere on my computer containing all of the images and it preserved their names. However, I noticed all of the Quicktime and AVI files had very small file sizes. When I double click on a .mov file, for example, it opens in Quicktime but it is now only a single frame. Same is true for the avi files.
Any suggestions on another export setting tweak I need to do to get this right?

You shouldn't have to change it to original though. And if it isn't exporting the actual movie, it should show up as a pic, not have the video icon. I lost important footage from hurricane Ike because I was in a hurry, and trusted the app. Then I go to look at the videos in iMovie, and they aren't even recognized. Current should be whatever it is. Currently that was a video, not an image. Sad.

  • I can't import video frames to layers in Photoshop CS4

I just bought a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.8.4 and installed Photoshop CS4 on it, but when I select import video frames to layers and search for a video, they appear but I can't select any videos. I have the latest version of Quicktime and the videos play fine. I can still use photoshop with photos so it seems like it's just this one function that isn't working. It works on my sister's older Macbook pro though (she hasn't got Mountain Lion though, it's snow leopard OS X 10.6.8), and the only time it didn't work was when there wasn't enough space on the computer but I have over 670GB of available space.

How can I tell if I am using QT X or QT 7? Do you have any idea how I could fix this issue?
Edit: I downloaded QT 7 and changed it to my default player and restarted my computer. I don't know if this is what I was supposed to do, but the issue is still unresolved. Just wondering, why does it make a difference if it's QT 7 or X? I'm sorry, I really don't know much about these things as I am relatively new to photoshop

  • Photoshop CS3 crashes when importing video frames to layers.

This is perhaps not the correct place to post this, but I am new to the forums, as you can see.
I saw that there was a post about this sometime last year, and I tried all the methods offered to fix the problem, but none helped.
Each time I make an attempt to import video frames to layers, I get as far as the "select range to import" screen, and then when I select the range and click ok, it says "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." And then it closes.
My operating system is Windows XP, the photoshop type I use is CS3 as I mentioned before, and I have installed Quicktime 7.3.5.
I checked one of the files I tried to use with the Mediainfo program as suggested, and got the following:
    Format: MPEG-4
    Format profile: Quicktime
    Codec ID: qt
    File size: 176 MiB
    Duration: 18mn 33s
Overall bit rate: 1 327 Kbps
    Writing application: Lavf53.24.2
Hopefully this is enough information for someone out there to help me, because I haven't the slightest idea how to fix it. Thank you in advance.

Convert the file in ffmpeg/ MPEGStreamclip or another tool or export it from Quicktime Pro using anotehr CoDec. PS just sucks at dealing with these compressed files and using such an old version doesn't help with contemporary digital video from a camera...

  • I can not import video frames in photoshop elements 12

    Hello,
I want to import video frames (for making an animated gif). The instructions how to do this in elements is clear (Go to File, choose Import, choose video frames), but I don't see that last option in the menu... See screenshot.
(I tried to import video via Organizer but that is not possible either)
    So what to do?
    Thanks for any help.
    Robert

Frame from video was removed because it was just too old and not useful for what video is like today. It was designed to grab a frame from those short tiny videos that early digital cameras made, you know the ones that could record about 30 seconds of video at 300 x 400. It was never any good at longer videos and couldn't do HD at all, so adobe removed it because it was becoming more of a problem than a solution. It is not in any language version of PSE 12.

  • Error Importing Video Frames to Layers in Photoshop CC

I'm trying to import video frames to layers in Photoshop CC, the most recent edition. I'm using a Mac OS X Maverick version 10.9.2.
The video I'm working with is a .mov file with the following codecs: Timecode, Linear PCM, CEA 708, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ).
When I import frames to layers, the window is black. *Note: The audio works here, picture does not appear.
When I select OK, the layers are transparent.
This issue is specific to Photoshop CC. I tested the same .mov file with the same codecs in the most recent edition of Photoshop CS6, and import video frames to layers worked successfully.
I also tested the same .mov file using another user's computer and their edition of Photoshop CC, and experienced the same issue - black screen, transparent frames.
This leads me to believe it is an issue specific to the Photoshop CC software.
Is there a fix for this, or do you have recommendations on ways to convert the .mov file so it's viewable in Photoshop CC?
    Thank you for your help.

  • Video cuts out of frame when importing to timeline :( What to do?

    Hi there!
So I have my initial video on my timeline and all is well.
However when I try to import another video with the same frame, it looks like it zooms in because it cuts so much of the frame that I can't even see my face anymore . I even tried viewing it in the preview window on the upper left side (which looks fine) until I drag it in the timeline.
Photo 1 : This is the initial video
Photo 2: This is the additional clip that I'm adding that cuts out of frame
Something I should specify as well is, I recorded audio & video separately and merged them through he merge option that Premiere Pro has but that shouldn't be a problem since I did the same thing with my initial video to sync the audio and it did not cut out of frame.
I am still new at premiere pro and when I look up tutorials, no one seems to have that problem. Any help?
    Thanks
