  • Can I import e-mail addresses and groups from Outlook Express?

I have just bought the latest iMac (with Leopard) and I'd like to know how to import my Outlook Express address book (about 1,100 entries) and groups (75 groups with between 5 and 150 members each) into Address Book.

    Hello Sijmons,
    Thank you for your response.
I already tried it. I used File/Import a mailbox ..., then "Mail" offer me to choose the software I used, and I had the choice to run Mcrosoft Entourage, Outlook Express, ... and others.
Then I went to the place where I have stocked the .dbx files.
But mail seems not to be able to read it.
Do you know how to read .dbx librairies with Mail ?
    Thanks in advance
    Have a good day

  • Can I import 5 years of email from Win Outlook Express to Apple Mail?

This looks like a large problem.
I'm trying to import 5 yrs worth of email, all categorized in sub-directories within the WIN version of Outlook Express 6, into the current version of Apple Mail.
Can this be done? If so, how?
While Outlook Express is listed on the import panel of Apple Mail, I believe it means the Mac version of OE from MS Office 4. I have that, but it's not installed.
Could I install it, somehow import the WIN OE 6 mail into that, and THEN import into Apple Mail?
Or is there (we live in hope) an easier way?
    1000 thanks!

You may use O2M, or you may import your mail into Thunderbird on the PC, then use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import that into Apple’s Mail.

  • Import mail function does not work for Outlook Express

working on a windows 8.1 laptop, trying to import emails from a Outlook Express directory that was moved to the new PC. Latest Thunderbird is running and the import starts and then very quickly finishes without importing anything.

Thunderbird import does not work on my XP machine either, I already tried it. Do you mean that outlook Express has to be running at the time of import?
I did migrate the mail folder into Windows live email, so I have access to the email but only as a kludgy 2 email solution.
Thunderbird does not recognize Live Mail, so that was not helpful.
I think the import broke in some previous release and has not been tested lately.

  • Importing Wildcard Cert into Messaging Server and Comms Express???

Hi all, does anyone know how I can import a wildcard certificate, private key, & CA cert into Messaging Server 6.3 and Comms Express 6.3?
We have 3 files from DigiCert that I think need to be imported:
    1) A wildcard cert from DigiCert
    2) The DigiCert CA cert
    3) The private key
    Thanks in advance,
    Stewart

Hi, we are upgrading from iMS5.2 to SJMS6.3 later this year but in the mean time i'm trying to work out how to import the wildcard certs, key, etc from DigiCert into our current iMS5.2. I've heard it can be done.
We're currently using a cert from Verisign in our iMS5.2 environment.

  • Probelms printing email messages in Outlook Express

After an automatic Firefox update I can no longer print the message part for Outlook Express 6 email. Only the header (e.g. To/From) prints. I have an HP Office Jet all-in-one printer. I updated my Firefox version and the problem remained.

  • Importing pc outlook express contacts into mail on new mac

    Hello,
I've been looking thru the support archives and can't find anything current on this issue (archived stuff is 2009). Is there any easy way to import your contact info from pc outlook express to mail 4.5 on a new macbook pro? I'm not sure which version the outlook express is, (it's my father-in-law's machine) he just made the switch to a mac. He is not very computer savy, hence the reason I am posting the question... I have looked at o2mac and was wondering if it can be done easily without purchasing an outside application... I have a brother-in-law who is working on the problem but he is soo pc oriented that he cannot find himself around the mac without thinking in pc-mode so I'm now trying to help (I'm AM a mac person...) but not outlook! He says that when he tries to import it comes in all gobbley-gooked (his words)....
    Any help appreciated!

Install Mozilla Thunderbird onto the PC.
    http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/
On the PC import whatever you need, mails, contacts from Outlook Express
From Thunderbird export contacts as LDIF. Copy the file over to your Mac and import it in Address Book.

  • How I copied all my Outlook Express data to my new Black MacBook

    Hi there!
I just made the jump to the "Apple side" buying a shiny new Black Macbook, and having already got a lot of usefull information from this forum, I just wanted to give my little contribution...
Here follows how I managed to copy ALL my Microsoft Outlook Express messages, settings and accounts from my "old" PC to my new MacBook:
I just installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my PC and let the automated "import" function transfer all my data from Outlook Express; then I installed Thunderbird to the MacBook too (skipping all the setup procedures that start at the first run of the program).
Then, on the "PC side", I located the folder where all the Thunderbird profile data is stored: it is something like "xxxxxxxx.default" (in my case "voakmfhs.default") and is stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\Windows_User\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles"
So it was just a matter of copying all the "xxxxxxxx.default" folder from the PC to the Mac (on the "Mac side" just search for the "Thunderbird" folder and then open the "Profiles" subfolder where you have to copy all the stuff)
The last step is to edit the Thunderbird "profiles.ini" file on the Mac, replacing the name of default folder that was assigned during the installation (which you can safely delete), with the name of the one copied from the PC...
For any further question, feel free to ask
Hope this is of some help!
    Ciao for now
    Sergio

  • Is there any way to recover deleted account on outlook express?

I didn't know that deleting account in outlook express will also delete the DBX files of that account. Is there any way to recover the dbx files?

Unfortunately, the mail accounts settings (and messages rules) for Outlook Express are stored in the Windows registry and not in a file that can be easily restored.

  • Export Phone Contacts from Outlook Express to Noki...

I exported the phone contacts using the Nokia Suite to Outlook Express. But how do I import it back to my phone from Outlook Express ?
    Thanks

If Outlook Express provides for exporting contacts in vCard format, you can send all contacts as vCard attachments to a message sent to an email account you access with the Mail.app. Save the vCard attachments from the message to a created folder on the Desktop and then use the Address Book import feature selecting vCards.
If OE does not provide for exporting contacts in vCard format, it should provide for exporting contacts as a tab-delimited text file.
The Tiger Address Book includes a Text File import selection/option.

  • PSE 4.0 - PhotoMail - Outlook Express error

I am using PSE 4.0 with Windows XP. I have been using Photomail for quite a while and it has been working great. But recently after I get the pictures ready to send using Photomail in Organizer, it opens Outlook Express with only the reply buttons available, no send. It hasn't already sent either. I can forward which is what I have been doing. I'm sure that somewhere there is an option so that the send button comes up.
    Any suggestions?

    Byron,
I went to that Knowledgebase article, and it certainly is appropriate. I went to my Microsoft history update, and don't seem to have that update - KB911567 installed. It says it is for Windows XP Sp1 - I have SP2. I can't really use their options - in the article easily. But will try to find that KB911567 because that evidently is the cause. Or I will just forward the message after the Outlook Express message comes up.
    Thanks for your input.

  • Outlook Express Error 0x800c0133 (corrupted inbox file)

I use Outlook Express. I can send, but not receive. I have deleted the many emails that had never been deleted, but still can not receive. I have been
told I have a corrupted Inbox file. Something about the Inbox.dbx, but I don't know or how to correct this error.

It may be possible to fix the problem using these steps :
    Open Outlook Express
Click "Local Folders" in the left side navigation
Select New Folder and name it TEMP
If possible move all of the email from your Inbox to the TEMP folder
Go to menu bar and select Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder and then write down the location of your
    inbox
    Close Outlook Express,
Use My Computer to go to the location is step 5 and then delete the file inbox.dbx
Open Outlook Express - The Inbox folder should be auto recreated.
Move your email from the TEMP folder back to your Inbox
I don't know if anyone is still looking for help with this error. It basically means you have too much saved
email in the version of Outlook Express your are using. You may want to try some of the methods listed in
    Outlook Express Fix Toolbox
    Link to free demo version:-

Hope this helps for people who are still getting this error. If you are getting it, I am sure you are dreading
the fact you may lose 'A lot' of your saved emails. Good luck,

  • Thunderbird crashes when importing high amount of Outlook Express .dbx files.

    Greetings !
I'm trying to make a migration from Outlook Express to Thunderbird for a professional. His mail folder is made of around 1400 .dbx files (18GB of mails -woh-). Every time I'm trying to do the importation, Thunderbird crashes.
I think I should specify that this importation is happening on the new computer I set up and from the old hard drive.
I also tried importing small amounts : it worked but it's killing the file tree, which is not acceptable on a such amount of mails.
I found mention of an 'Undbx' software that could help me. I'll try it very soon and report.
I will provide a dxdiag.txt soon too, but I really think the PC is set up correctly (I have some experience in this domain).
Importing this mail folder is critical since it's a professional need, so I'm relying on you and deeply thank you for your effort here.
PS : English is not my native tongue, excuse the grammar and spelling mistakes.

    Dear Matt.
I can proudly announced the problem is solved !
In 'accounts settings' (not sure of my translation here), I set the mail storage folder to a new one, near the hard drive root, then launched the importation. And it went just well, keeping up the file tree and all.
Thank you a lot for the informations you gave me. I wouldn't have found out the path length is limited to 255 without you. '''You rock, sir !'''
    I owe you.
Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
    Sincerly yours,
    Jack
PS : Some information on this issue on the database would be welcome I think and I'd happily participate.

  • How do I import Outlook Express message files into Outlook 2013 without using LiveMail

I bought a new Windows 7 computer and have copied the Outlook Express .dbx files from the old XP computer onto the new one. Outlook 2013 's import facility does not have a .dbx option.  I  do not want to use Windows Live for anything. How do
I import my Outlook Express mail files into Outlook 2013 ?

    Hi,
It isn't only to Outlook 2013, other versions of Outlook cannot access the .dbx files directly.
In the situation, Windows Live Mail is needed to transfer the mail data to Outlook.
