Importexport.properties utility

Hello,
Anyone know if the version of Hyperion Planning 11.1.2, you can use the CSSExport.bat, CSSImport.bat and CSSValidate.bat, but in a linux environment? Planning is a utility to know the relationship of user-group, as well as roles, supplies and property

The CSSImportExport utility does not exist in 11.1.2, the route you need to take is LCM to import any provisioning.

E:\hyperion\common\utilities\CssImportExportUtility\cssimportexport\importexport\CSSExport.bat E:\hyperion\common\utilities\CssImportExportUtility\cssimportexport\importexport\importexport.properties
produces the same error then it points to a problem in the importexport.properties file, have you made sure that all the directory paths in that file are correct, such as importexport.css=file:/.....

Problems ImportExport.properties (import) In Shared Services Console - SOS

Hello everyone,
I have to export all users, groups and provisions of the Security v.11.1.1.3 a Hyperion Planning. Csv file, in which the user can export the file, you see, modify and re-import. Mequeda export if, if I creael. Csv file, but does not make me import the file with the changes, I just import the file without any changes.
Someone could help me with this pebble to reset the file and it can be used as a capture interface for the user.

The CSSImportExport code in 11.1.1.3 doesn't handle the import data correctly. The issue is documented in unpublished Bug 9012947.
You can copy \Hyperion\common\utilities\CSSImportExportUtility\cssimportexport.zip from a prior version, and use that version of utility for the import."

We have a user essadmin in 9.2.0.0 but not in 9.3.1.
Since we already have a user called admin in 9.3.1, I deleted user admin in export.csv file and tried to import again.
The 9.3.1 ImportExport utility did not like the newly updated export.csv file

I'll try updating my 9.2's export file with password and resubmitting it.
In the meantime, I was told 9.3.1 ImportExport will run in 9.2.0.0. However, everytime I tried that, it gives me the error

Import utility for Security

Hi All,
I need to perform an equivalent of the Essbase MaxL statement "alter user UserX remove from group GroupX" through the import utility in Shared Services, since the Essbase security is externalized to Shared Services.
Can anyone help me on the above.

Hi,
If you use the CSSimportexport utility, update the importexport.properties file with your environment details.
Set it up to read in .csv
In the csv enter the users you want to remove from groups e.g.
#group_children
id     group_id     group_provider     user_id     user_provider
EssGroup               testuser     Native Directory
so the id field has the group name, the user_id has the user name you want to remove from the group
In the importexport.properties file make sure you have the following.
# The import operation to perform.
# Options are: CREATE, UPDATE, CREATE/UPDATE and DELETE
import.operation=delete

Import Export Utility

I have used import/export utility to migrate users from dev to test. While importing only "Admin" user is imported successfully but no others. CSSImport Utility - Remove Users from Groups

We have a security group that has a few hundred users assigned to the group. When there is a need to remove a user from the group it is difficult to find the user as I have comb through the list to find the user i am trying to remove. Two questions: is there a way to sort the users in the group in Share Services? The second question is can users be removed using the CSSImport utility by specifying the "delete" option in the importexport.properties? Does the "delete" option remove the user from the secuity group and or does it delete it completely from ShareServices? (we are using Hyperion v9.3.0.1.0 Build 5)

I am not so sure about the sorting but removing users from groups can be done with the CSSImportExport utility, I see you are on 9.3.0, try and get hold of the 9.3.1 version as it is backward compatible to the 9.3.0 version and more stable.
When removing users from groups, just set your import operation to update
import.operation=update
and in your import csv just put the group children elements and the users you want in the group.
#group_children
id,group_id,group_provider,user_id,user_provider
TestGroup,,,UserToKeepInGroup,Native Directory
This way it will keep the users in the import file and remove the users from the group that are not in the file, also it does not remove the user from shared services only from the group.

CSS Import/Export Utility

I'm trying to export users and groups along with their provisions using the CSS Import/Export utility, and I've configured my importexport.properties file to include export.provisioning.all=true, but the exported file does not include any provisioning. Is there a way to fix this?

I agree with Seb. I could not get the 9.2.0.1 utility to work. It was exporting only native groups and the members in each group and not any provisioning info.
Once I installed the 9.3.1 version of the utility, it all worked fine. Make sure you install JAVA JDK 1.5 as the utility needs that version. Just install in same path as the cssimportexport utility so that it doesn't conflict with any earlier versions of java (we had 1.4.2) on that server.

Hyperion Shared Services Export

Hello All,
I need to export Hyperion Shared services, I know about CSSEXPORT.bat utility but i am not sure how to run, we are using Hyperion Planning, Essbase FDM APS, Smart view, FR and some other tools and I need to export either in xml file or CSV, if is there any other option i can use or how i can run from CMD prompt. We used Hyperion System 9.3.1

Error migrating Security from Shared Services.

Hi,
I was using Hyperion Planning 9.3.1's in Import/ Export utility in D:\Hyperion\common\utilities\CSSImportExportUtility\cssimportexport\importexport\CSSExport.bat. I'm trying to export Security from Shared Services into xml format. I get the following error message:
Malformed \uxxxx encoding
Anyone with similar experiences? Hyperion's impexp.pdf makes the steps so complicated!!

Answering my own question:
Since I am in Windows, I was using backslashes in my paths when I updated file:
importexport.properties
The error went away after I changed the backslashes to forward slashes in all paths.

Error during CSSExport.bat

I am trying to run the CSSExport.bat (file contents below). I am receiving the following command line error when trying to run:-
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/hyperion/css/exchange/CommandUtility
From previous searches I've found that the CommandUtility class that is getting called directly by Java is not included in my file, however I am not sure what I should add to my file to resolve this issue. Is anyone able to help by providing the line I should add to the file and where I should add it?
The confusing thing is both CSSExport.bat and importexport.properties are both the exact same files that have been used and worked before, the only change I can think of that may have had an effect is our system has been upgraded from 9.3.1 to 9.3.3 since the last time the utility has been used. Any help is appreciated.

I have resolved the initial message above but am now getting the command line error "The system cannot find the path specified". I've tried running the export from command line using the full path and using cd and from what I can tell the paths in importexport/properties are correct.
Any suggestions?

I am new to hyperion planning and shared services.I want to export my whole security.Not a report but the details of all the groups/users etc.
Can somebody help me on this.

ÃÂ· Before importing access permissions on a user-defined custom dimension, you must allow access permissions to be set on it by selecting Apply Security.

FormDefUtil
Use the FormDefUtil.cmd utility to move data form definitions from one Planning application to another.
You can export or import data form definitions to or from an XML file.
You might want to use this if you are moving from a development environment to a production environment.
This utility uses a command line interface and is installed in the Utils directory. If you installed.
Planning to the default location, it is in E:\Hyperion\Planning\bin.This utility runs only on a Windows-based system.
You can run it on a Windows-based system even if your application servers are on UNIX. Only administrators can run it.
Refreshing database to Essbase before launching the form go to administration menu > manage database . select database then refresh.

UpdateNativeDir

Usage:
UpdateNativeDir.bat Ã¢ÂÂcssLocation C:\Absolute\path\CSS.xml [-nodelete] [-noprompt] [-noupdate]
ÃÂ· Use quotes if path contains spaces
ÃÂ· Edit the batch file to set JAVA_HOME path
-cssLocation - Absolute path to the location of the CSS.xml
-nodelete - Will not delete any users/groups from Native Directory.
-noprompt - Silent mode operation. Can be used for scheduled jobs.
-noupdate - Will not update any users/groups in Native Directory.
By default the utility would have delete, update and prompt option.
UpdateUsers

ÃÂ· Run on the Planning server using Ã¢ÂÂlocalhostÃ¢ÂÂ for the servername as above.

Backup.bat and Recover.bat
Location:
<Hyperion_Home>/SharedServices/<hss_version>/server/scripts
Used for backing up and recovering the OpenLDAP and Shared Services properties files.
Usage:
backup.bat <backup_directory_path> or
recover.bat <backup_directory_path>
db_recover
Location:
<Hyperion_Home>\SharedServices\<HSS_version>\openLDAP\bdb\bin
db_recover
This is used by the above scripts too but can be run manually. Stop the OpenLDAP service first.
Usage:
db_recover Ã¢ÂÂh <Path_Native_Directory_data_file>
For example:
db_recover Ã¢ÂÂh ../../var/openldap-data
Where openldap-data indicates the name of Native Directory data directory. This is the default location.
ÃÂ· -h is used to specify a home for the data other than the current directory
ÃÂ· -v sets output to verbose
ÃÂ· Before running db_recover backup the OpenLDAP data directory
ÃÂ· If the initial recovery does not work, remove all files other than .bdb files from the data directory and try again.

Error while running CSSExport to export native directory user

ange/CommandUtilityThe NoClassDefFoundError occurs when Java cannot find a class that it needs to run.. In your case, the class that can't be found is the CommandUtility class that is getting called directly by Java. To solve the issue, you need to include the jar file containing that class in your classpath.

Unable to Load DLL (oci.dll)

I am trying to connect to Oracle 10g database using Visual Studio.Net 2003, System.Data.OracleClient namespace. I have created a Web service running on my workstation's local web server, that uses a connection to an Oracle database (my connctionString="Data Source=orcl;User Id=myid;Password=pswd" ). While the program trying to execute myConnection.Open() - it is receiving the error "Unable to load dll (oci.dll)". I have installed the Oracle client on a development (WinXPPro) workstation, so the client BIN directory is visible, production server is running Oracle 10g on Windows 2003.
Is it some kind of connection string issue or user permission problem? How do I setup the right ones?

Yes, I can connect to the database using both Aqua Data Studio or SQL *Plus. I even can connect to the database from Visual Studio utilizing Data Link Properties utility via OLE DB drivers either from Microsoft or Oracle. The credantials I am providing in the last case are the same as I use in my connection string: data source name (tnsname) - orcl, user id and password...
