Importing 10,000's lines of text error

I have several documents that have 10,000's of lines of data updated every month, but every time I import the data I get a problem. Every 6393 lines an extra blank line is inserted.
Is this a known error, and is there a patch to fix it?
I have tried importing the text into a .doc and .docx file and importing that, this didn't produce the error. However my pc crashed with my largest .docx file so isn't a work-around.

Well blow me over with a moderate gush of wind.
I just tried with a constructed text file (10,000 copies of Aidu's post above) and my trusty CS4. I get other 'magic numbers' -- first line 5,202, then line 10,403, then #15,604, and so on -- but indeed, blank lines DO come in at random positions!
The 'magic number' might not be the number of paragraphs (= lines, for plain text input), but of course also could be the total number of characters. Just so others can try: I got a Free Hard Return with every 513,778 characters of input.
It is very easy to spot: if you use repeated copies of the same text and make sure the text frame on each page contains an exact number of copies of the text, all you have to do is hold down the Page Down key until you suddenly see your text jump a line. And add a numbered list to your paragraphs for a rough line count.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think they are going to send you a fix ... Even if this bug (it must be one!) is present in CS6 as well, it just might get fixed in a point update for that, but chances are high they are going to leave this one until a Friday afternoon, when all really important bugs are fixed or it's too much work to start with a complicated one so short before the week-end.

Batch list import is picky about line terminations in the text file

After running into trouble trying to compose a batch list for import, I isolated the issue:
The text file that you attempt to import must have "carriage return" characters at the end of each line. It can have a "carriage return" and a "line feed", but it cannot have only a "line feed".
If you feed Final Cut a text file that does not meet this criteria, it will barf up this error message:
One or more items on the header line do not match valid Browser column headers.
Line terminators have been the cause of many a problem over the years! Typically, MSDOS/Windows systems tend to create text files that use a CR-LF combo. While Mac OS was typically just a CR. And UNIX systems have typically been just an LF. However, since Mac OS X is now a hybrid of older Mac ways, and UNIX ways, you can find mixed situations there. For example, the Mac OS X Text Edit program saves out files with just an LF, and thus can't be directly used to create batch lists for Final Cut.
So, you need to be careful what means you use to create batch list text files.

I am trying to export a batch list created in FCP 5.1 to someone with 6. I follow directions, export and save and then e-mail the file. When he tries to import it, he gets that message ("One or more items on the header line do not match valid Browser column headers"). But I have tried re-importing it from my desktop and have no problem. Is there a problem going with such simple data from 5.1 to 6? Is it possible that the e-mail transmission is corrupting the files?

Until yesterday, I was using Garmin ConnectIQ SDK and all was working fine.
Yesterday, I've updated my system with latest security updates and Xcode updates too (Version 6.2 (6C131e)).

Error when adding image in-line with text

When using some of my templates I have no problem in putting
a small graphic (a pdf icon) in-line with text. Yet with others the
insertion of the same small graphic forces a newline before and
after the graphic.
If the text and image is placed in an editable region of the
template, but not within a table cell all is ok.
If the text and image is place within a table cell within the
editable region the problem arises. I am sure there is something I
have specified incorrectly but cannot discover what it is.

Like the error message says, you don't have a global_lexer. So, you need to create a global_lexer and that lexer must have at least a default sub_lexer, then you can use that global_lexer in your index parameters. Please see the demonstration below, including reproduction of the error and solution.

Is it resizing as I import it or maybe a printer thing?

It is rasterizing the PDF at the resolution you tell it to, unless it's an image only PDF - then the image will be opened as-is.

Smartforms: How to CC email & Include a few lines of Text in Body of email?

I have created a smartform and have it outputting PDf documents and sending then via e-mail and it all works great. Except u2026 now I would like to CC someone and also have a few lines of text in the e-mail. Does anyone have any ideas?

Get rid of the smartform-based mail sending code if you can. That interface is quite old, simplistic, and inflexible (i.e., you can't do what you're asking). I would use class CL_BCS. It's especially much easier once you have developed a (custom) standard email wrapper class for sending various types of emails, including smartform-based PDF-attached emails. You can even go with HTML and dress-up your emails a bit.

Flash now resets them when you open the file to 0, if you notice or not.
when you have negative (-20) set in spacing, usually used when you have margins.

I keep getting the error: "lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error" when trying to import from a catalog?

I have around 400,000 photos of 15 years so given the high number, I organized all my photos into 6 catalogs to avoid potential problems. All the photos and the catalogs are in a 4TB Seagate external hard drive. I use Adobe Lightroom 5 and I use a PC with the latest Windows Office 2013.
I wanted to have a NEW Catalog of all my rated 1 Star+ photos of all the years in a single Catalog. So I created what I called Star+ Catalog and I was told the best option is to import a Catalog at a time and given that there is no means to filter importing only Stared photos, I would import all the photos and then delete all the UnStared photos. I did that for Catalog Year 2014 but at the end gave me the message: "lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error". It actually had imported around 40k photos from about 50k total. I tried again and again and every time I end up with the same thing. I created another new Catalog and stared from scratch and the same ting happened: the ONLY EXACT 40k or so photos were imported and the rest were not!! When I imported Catalog Year 2013 of around 45k photos, it worked perfectly. But when I imported Catalog Year 2012 of 35k photos, the same thing happened!!
I then tried exporting the needed photos to a new Catalog and that worked. But then when I try to import them again from my Master *+ Catalog I get the same error again!!
I also tried creating a new Master *+ Catalog and tried to import the Catalogs of each year into it and the same error happened again!!!
Any advice: 1) on how to solve this? and 2) if there is a better and easier way to create this Master Catalog of All Stared Photos of All my Catalogs?

How to create a view to display Multiple lines of Text using ABAP WebDynpro

I need to create a static view page in ABAP WebDynpro that displays Static text data in multiple paragraphs. I tried to use textview, formatted text, text edit controls by binding the textcontrol to a text object that is created in so10, but the output I am getting is only one line and the character count is limited to 60 to 65 characters.
I would like to know which control needs to be used in ABAP Webdynpro to get multiple lines displayed with text formatting like Paragraph, Indenting and Size.....

In this trxn, we have to always set the Posting variant every month, in spro.(set up line item text).

Whatever text, we give at ID 1000, it gets updated in the accounting entries. What we require, that can it be automated , based on the payroll area/period. I mean, if I give Novu201907, then the text should be u201CSal for the month of Novu201907u201D.

a text change in general ledger line item will not be forwarded to spec. ledger automatically (as the change of a line item text triggers no posting to spec. ledger).
But as you know the document relationship from GL doc. to SL doc go to the corresponding SL doc. and change the text if this is really needed (don't understand why the line item text is that important).

When I imported Catalog Year 2013 of around 45k photos, it worked perfectly. But when I imported Catalog Year 2012 of 35k photos, the same thing happened!!
Any advice: 1) on how to solve this? and 2) if there is a better and easier way to create this Master Catalog of All Stared Photos of All my Catalogs?

OK, my starting point is that LR can happily contain 400000+ photos, and it's a mistake to create a 1 star plus catalogue as you suggest. Instead, I'd recommend you create a master catalogue of all your photos, which you can then query however you want - 2 star, or a certain keyword, or with "xyz" in the title etc.
If you are intent on going that way, you could try a slight change from what you've done so far. Instead of trying to import an entire catalogue and then delete no-star pictures, take the 2014 and 2012 catalogues and select only the 1 star photos. Then do an Export as Catalog for these items, and import the 2014-1star and 2012-1star into your new catalogue. That may get you past the problem images which I suspect are the problem.
If that doesn't work, or if you follow my initial advice, you're going to need to identify the image where the failure occurs. You may have a corrupt image file, and replacing it from your backup may be sufficient to resolve the problem. Alternatively, it may be a corrupt record in the catalogue, and in this case it may be sufficient to remove the image from the catalogue and import it again. You might try selecting everything in the 2014 catalogue and seeing if you can do an Export as Catalog, creating a clean 2014, and deleting 2014's previews folder might also get rid of a potential problem. Something else is to try the Export as Catalog for images 1-40000, then a second Export as Catalog for images 40002-50k.
So a few things you'll need to try, rather than a magic bullet, and a recommendation to change the underlying direction.

1) design for no wider than 600px (otherwise it may not fit in email clients).
2) Slice up your newsletter design in segments for images and html areas with the slice tool.
3) add the <a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com">my website</a> link in one of the html areas.
4) export as generic html 4 code, and put the images in a separate folder.
5) upload all the images to your website's server in a folder (you cannot embed images in an email newsletter - they must link to externally hosted images).
6) change all the links in your html page to the ones that were loaded up on your server. For example, an image's source link would work out similar to this: <img src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/newsletter/image1.jpg" alt="alternate description of your image">
7) open the newsletter with working external images in Chrome or Firefox. Select the entire page content (ctrl-a), and copy it (ctrl-c).
8) create a new email in your mail client. Place the cursor in the body. Paste the newsletter (ctrl-v).
9) send your newsletter to hundreds of recipients, and get blacklisted by several email servers. Receive warning messages from your own hosting provider not to spam other users' email accounts.
10) realize this is too much of a hassle, and instead opt for a service such as MailChimp.
(The result in (9) depends on whether you sent out your newletter only to acquaintances, or not. But even then you might be warned off.)
Btw, many email clients turn off images in an email by default. You must provide the most important content as html, not as images.

How to add the line item text in the Ledger line item report

I having one requirement from the user. He wants the line item text which we will enter in FB60/FB70/FB50 has to be shown in the Ledger line item report. Right now this field is not available. Is there any possible we can make this line item text in the ledger line item report i.e. FBL1N/FBL3N/FBL5N?

Urgent! How to display more than 1 line of text in SAPSCRIPT using tab

Hi, i would like to know how do i display all the text (which may consist of more than 1 line) that i have extracted using a READ_TEXT FM in my print program? Once the text has been extracted and displayed, i would like the proceeding lines of text (if there are more than 1 line) to begin at a certain margin (i have defined a paragraph format as 6.2cm in tab option).
