Importing 3D Model

Hello.
When I import the 3D model to Phoroshop the texture on the model is very dark. Whot should I change in options to have model with correct colors(not that dark)?

Adjust the material properties for diffuse and specular shading as well as ambient light. of course first check your light intensities as well. Choose another light setup, if you like. If all else fails, ramp up the self illumination in teh material settings.

Error while importing EJB model in Web dynpro: Unable to fetch the EJBs.

Hi,
We are getting the below error while importing ejb model to Web dynpro.
Error :
Unable to fetch the EJBs. Check if the selected Enterprise Application contain the EJBs.
I have created the public part-> It has a reference to EJB client and the enterprise application also has reference to the EJB project.The EJB is also added in dependency list.
But still we are getting this error. Could anyone please explain what can i do to solve this issue.

Please find the steps i followed while importing EJB model in webdynpro.
1. The Entity forwarding permission has been enabled.
2. public part reference has been created and through the reference entity option the ejbDC->Client public part is selected.
I followed all the steps mentioned in the document. But still i am getting that error. In EJB DC we have list of JPA entities and stateless session beans are exposed as a webservice(top-down manner).The enterprise application has a reference to the EJB DC.
I could be able to invoke the ejb service beans from ejb explorer and Webservice navigator.
I am able to insert,delete and modify the records from there.
Please let me know what could i do to resolve this error?

Reg. Scenerio Sheets are not importing while importing the model.

Hi All ,
Due to some issues , I exported the existing model and then do the isreset before importing the model. I imported the model which i exported. I am unable to see any Scenerio Sheet , planning Sheet in Analysis Workbench which i created earlier. there is no data in Planning workbench .
Do i need to create new Scenerio sheets ? or Is there anyway i can retrive those sheets and Put it back ?
if yes then how, Please guide.

Please let me know your thoughts on following issue :
1) we have already published a model which is having 5 Cubes ,11 dimensions and 100+ measures. Then we add two more cubes which are not related the previous one and we used different Dimension and measures for it. These cubes remain in unpublished state and somehow one of the cube from Earlier published model also came into unpublished state. Why the scenerio sheets which are already created not visible to me after importing this model (Unpublished) to the other instance. I can understand tht untill the model is processed it will not open but it was not visible also in the planner workbench. the planner workbench is completely empty.

Importing EJB Model in NWDS

Hi, 
There is a simple Stateless Session Bean which uses an external library (JAR); and there is only 1 business method with just 1 line of code:
RecordEx r = null;
 
RecordEx is one of the library classes; 
While trying to import this as an EJB Model in Web Dynpro DC in NWDS (7.1 EHP1 SP01 Preview Version), it fails with a NoClassDefFoundError; 
Below are the steps followed; 
1. Create an External Library DC "ext" 
 1.1 Add the third party library to this DC 
 1.2 Create public parts ppC (Compilation) & ppA (Assembly) and add the library to both of these 
 1.3 Build the DC 
2. Create an Enterprise Application DC "util" 
 2.1 Add Buildtime dependency to ppA public part of "ext" DC 
 2.2 Build & deploy 
3. Create EJB Module DC "ejb" 
 3.1 Add Buildtime dependency to ppC public part of "ext" DC 
 3.2 Create a Session Bean (Stateless - Transaction: Container - Local Interface) 
 3.3 Create 1 business method, and create an object of one of the library classes in it 
 3.4 Add the business method to Local Interface 
 3.5 Check Component Properties > Permissions > Entity Forwarding 
 3.6 Build the DC - there are no build errors; default client & ejbjar public parts are created; 
4. Create an Enterprise Application DC "app" 
 4.1 Add the "ejb" as Referenced Project

informs "util" EAR DC has no public parts
this is probably the issue. see if you can make the external library show up in the public part of the util DC

Using Complex Data Types in Import JavaBean Model

Hi,
I have searched and read forums and weblogs related to import javabean model.
But I am not clear about how to use complex data types like ArrayList, Collection etc in my java bean.
If I use these complex datatypes in my bean, when creating model in WDF it displays the Complex data elements in Model Relation. I dont know how to use this model relation in my WD project.
Anyone please explain the step by step solution about using complex data type(used in Bean) in WD Project.

Import RFC Model

All,
I'm using Sneak preview full java version. When I try to call SAP Function module from webdynpro Java via RFC Model, it's asking me to specify the SAP Server detail logon information.
Can anyone help me what information i should give becos im using Sneak preview Java version...

If u want to import Adaptive RFC Models from ABAP backend u have two ways for importing the model
1) single server : where u need to specify ABAP system creditials such as Application server name,client,system number for ABAP system available in ur Local Area Network
2) Load Balancing : Here DropDown List is automatically populated with list of ABAP servers which are defined in ur SAP LOGON PAD . Actually NWDS picks up names of these servers from saplogon.ini file which stores all ABAP servers defined in ur SAP LOGON PAD
so if u have entry for the required ABAP backend in ur SAP LOGON PAD then u can go for Load Balancing method in which most of the entries will be automatically populated from saplogon.ini file
If u donot have SAP LOGON PAD or saplogon.ini file doesnot have entry for the ABAP server then u should go for single server mode for Importing RFC models

Error when re-importing a model

I have a coworker who is trying to reimport a model in his Web Dynpro project. He is getting the following exception (full stack trace below):

You have re-imported the model. This means that once you haev to restart your server. Just Restart it. Repair and Rebuild your Project. Try to import SWT.jar file again and then try.
That would surely help you.

CS5 Extended:Importing 3D Models queries

Hi,
I just spent some time having fun playing with 3d in CS5 for the last 4 weeks. The 3D does offer a new exciting aspect to PS however I have come across some issues while experimenting with importing models.
I'm a experienced PS user but new to the world of 3D. I'm not ranting but if possible like a explanation on the following
1) I have been importing dae files from google 3D warehouse. Nearly all models I import have corrupted textures when rendered in PS. It's as some textures on the models look like they are split apart into triangular pieces.
I have downloaded google sketchup 8 and created simple models and most of the time PS does recognise the textures and render with no issues. It seems however more complicated models do render with issues.
For example here is a great model

I load it into Sketchup 8 and export it in dae format.
This models renders with no errors but the red decals render as described above (corrupted).
Most models from other sites like 3Dvia I don't experience any issues
Are there any known issues with Sketchup exports or is this a PS issue?
2) I create a simple capsule shaped 3d model one in PS and one in Sketchup 8. I compare the texture mapping of both models in PS and was amazed how different they are. (The one created in Sketchup i exported as a dae file). When trying to map a texture precisely on the imported sketchup version it was near impossible especially the way maps around curved surfaces.
Why is this mapping different? What is the correct termination when describing this mapping ?
Do 3d applications save models differently even in the same file format ( i.e dae)?
As a whole in my experience importing 3D models seems to to be hit and miss. Is this the way it is at this time?

The hair is crappy but was just a quick toss together so she was not bald and nekit.

How to Import data models into BPA

How can data models be imported into BPA? We understand that models can be imported from other
BPA repositories. We need to import from something that does not start out as a BPA model. We know how to import the data objects using the Process Generator. But do not understand how to efficiently import Cluster or entity objects (representing tables) connected to ERM Attrribute objects (representing fields). Currently only an EPC model can be imported using the process generator. We've tried importing structures using UML import of class models, but the resulting model is not usable in standard data models.
Any ideas?

i think you are mentioning about the migration from BW to BW on HANA here.
For understanding the benefits , first you need to understand what is HANA. In simple terms HANA is in memory Data base (it is much more than that ). So being all your data kept in the main memory the speed of the processing will be 300 times better than using a conventional DB. (You can find blogson the perfomance of hana test cases of HANA)
So in BW on HANA case we will be migrating the underlying DB used in SAP BW (eg : oracle, SQL, or any conventional DB ) into HANA. As i told it is in-memory you will have very high performace gain in your report execution time.In BW on HANA the cubes and DSO will be represented as hana optimised cube / dso .
Also you can import BW models to HANA, means you can import a BW cube as Native HANA analytic view . Using native HANA modeling will have further performance gains while running reports

I'm not sure which forum to post this question. I have created a tabular model and I want to be able to pull data from the tabular model to populate an excel spreadsheet and then import the data into SAS. When I pull the data into the tabular
model the column names end up including the table name and the column name twice. I would need to go in a manual change all these names. Is there anyway to just get the column name?

Do you mean that you got double table name and column name while import Tabular model data into PowerPivot data model? Please correct me if I have something misunderstood.
If so, this behavior is by design. When we import Tabular model data into PowerPivot data model, the column name will display with the UniqueName. Please refer to the table below:

Re-importing the models

Dear All,
I just started with XCelsius. I am using Dummy's book and just finished the first part. I have a question that
for example, i am data from a Java webservice, i have the following queries in mind
- Lets say my webservice is sending data into xml, do i need to covert it into excel spreadsheet?
- It says that once you import the data-set into the Xcelsius, it loads the data into memory and then
disconnects from the excel. Does it mean that, every time, my webservice change the data, i need
to re-import the model again and again?
- Lets say i am deploying the application into linux server and if it doesn't support excel, then what will
i do.
I have these questions currently. I am studying as soon as i encounter more queries, i will post here.

Firstly, your Xcelsius dashboard, when published to a flash file, doesn't contain any Excel, it's just a pure, standalone swf file.
Regarding data loading: If you have defined a connection to a web service, then you will be specifying in that connection the Excel cells to 'bind' the returned data to. You will then bind a component (e.g. pie chart) to those cells.
When the user opens the flash file, the web service is called, and the data from the web service populates the chart.
That's the over-simplified version, also check out the official Xcelsius manual over at help.sap.com.

Create a new SOA application, then create a project inside it, type should be SOA.
Give Composite a name and select "Composite from BPA template" as Composite template.
In the next window, you will see your BPA Server( otherwise create a new BPA connection) ,explore to your EPC model and double click to import it.
