Importing a Burned CD need help!

This has to be the worst problem i have encountered.
A friend of mine burned a cd for me.
It was burned as a data cd (if that helps at all)
As i put the cd into my computer it has a new security setting where i cant listen to those songs that he bought off itunes and put on the cd. i need his password.
To make it worse those certain songs wont even play in a cd player.
Even with some songs that i can listen to. The import option DOES NOT pop up.

It will still have to be authorized under the account that purchased it. Even though it was considered to be a gift & you had not intent, it's still illegal file sharing. The terms of purchase, as I said before, state that your purchase is for PERSONAL USE only. This doesn't include giving or "gifting" copies to all your friends. When you buy a CD or purchase a download, you purchase a license to use that music within stated limits, you do not own the music to do with whatever you like.
This is not a good idea to post this kind of information in a public forum. Apple now can choose to go after your friend & you for the violation. I would suggest you drop your efforts to do this, & purchase the music yourself.

Running Repair Disk from your install disk as suggested by neuroanatomist is the best first step. I have outlined the procedure in detail below, with suggestions for what to do if DU reports errors it cannot repair:
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
What’s a kernel panic may help you identify the black screen you saw earlier. If it does, post back and let us know.

Problem burning DVDs, NEED HELP QUICK

I need help as soon as possible. I am using iMovieHD 5.0.2, along with iDVD 5.0.1. I have made a movie about 8 minutes long and all in all it totals 7.68Gigs, and i've tried burning it to a dvd. I did all the steps it says to, going to Share, sharing it with iDVD, then trying to burn it in iDVD. Yet whenever it asks me to insert a recordable dvd, i do, and the computer fails to recognize it. I am using a DVD-R, 4.7GB discs, 4x. I then realized that the movie i was trying to burn was larger than this disc, which might be the problem. I then created a 200mb movie and tried, but the same problem happened. My G5 is not recognizing the blank dvds, yet when i insert a dvd that was made a while ago from a different source, yet the same type of dvd, it plays fine.
The problem seems to be in recognizing the blank DVD, and im pretty sure that its compatible with this computer, being that it plays when theres already a movie on it.
Can someone please help me quickly, this is for a production company and we're losing out every day that i dont get this done. Thanks a million.

I don't have an answer, but as an initial diagnostic step, try loading a blank DVD while iDVD is not running. First open your System Preferences and select the CD/DVD icon. Make sure the options selected do not say "Ignore". Then load a blank disc. Depending on your preferences, you should get some sort of reaction - either a burn window opens or you get a prompt asking you what to do. If there's no reaction from the Finder, it would indicate that the drive is not recognizing the blank DVD. This would be either a hardware or a media compatibility problem. Only way to tell for sure is to run out and try a different brand of media.

Itunes stopped working error comes up as soon as it reads first track while importing CD and needs to close program (APPCRASH). I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times - also ran CD diagnostics in iTunes and looks OK. I'm on Vista Home Premium Edition. If it will help I saved the CD Diagnostics from ITunes and the Windows APPCRASH info. I've spend several hours trying to figure this out. Any ideas?

Problem solved! I had my pc plugged into a port replicator to use a bigger screen, etc. When I unplugged it and tried to import the CDs it worked fine. Not sure why I got the error but whenever I get unexpected errors in the future, I will take it off the replicator to eliminate that possibility. Thanks to all who reviewed.

CD Burn Error - need help plz

My iBook is 3 yrs old now, and its worked flawlessy until about a month ago when I inserted a cd-r into the drive and it started making a grinding sound, very loud. Now it wont burn cds, gives me an error every time. Ive experienced this in iTunes, and Roxio Toast. The drive can read fine, and it imports ok most of the time, although the grinding sound is there when im importing as well. Im wondering what my options are. Any and all help is appreciated.

Mac computer won't read burned discs, need help...

Heya,
So I'm not sure when this started happening exactly, but my Mac stopped being able to read burned discs for some reason. I've tried discs that have audio (legal MP3's) and applications on them (also legal copies of the discs) and they show up in finder but as a blank disc. I'm wondering if there was an update of some sort recently that started causing this issue somehow? Can someone help? Thanks!

I have had my MacPro for more than a year, just updated to OSX 10.6.4
I have not been able to play a particular,commercially bought DVD. No clue about the format of it. It comes up as Untitled. My MacPro has worked OK with other video DVDs and a bunch of install discs. I just discovered this new DVD player problem today, with this new DVD just bought through snail mail.
However, this same new commercially recorded DVD plays beautifully on my old 17" powerbook bought brand-new in 2006, today running OSX 10.4.11
It is sad so many bloat features seem to cloud real needs of working people, or what else could it be? My system has had some other livable problems like the fact i had to trash the much needed OSX Dictionary Application, because it started opening up a window for every word i already looked up-- This problem seems to be due to Migrtation Assitant picking up some weird police state aps or what not. It is hard to live without Migration Assistant because aps like CS4 are so hard to get running on a new system. So grin and bear it.

Bundle Import in CC&B - need help

Hi,
I am trying to create Bundle import to import the configurations of BO, ZONE, Portal zone etc,.
When I click on save, I am getting an Java.lang.ClassNotFoundExeception : CIPTUSEF and looks like this is coming base.
I am doing this on the upgraded environment.
Is there any specific settings that I need to do? Appreciate any help on this.

I think the issue is the FK Reference ci_user. When you look at the FK Reference you will see that the program name is CIPTUSEF but the program type is set to java. Change this to COBOL. The Bundle import screen should display correctly now.

Dvd burn error--need help with error message

Ok so I have read all the support articles and many of the discussions already posted...but still can not burn a dvd.
so, I created a project on idvd, it just has two slideshows that I imported from iphoto. I could not burn the dvd directly from idvd, got the multiplexing/burn error message. I successfully created a disk image and was able to play it on my computer using the dvd player, I then tried to burn it using the disk utility and again got an error message after it started the writing proccess...the error said "The devise failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media" Does anyone know what this means??? I have lots of room on my hard drive and am using DVD-R sony dvds. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Import App Error..need help

I have a perfectly working app that will no longer import to its production app_id. I get this error on both 1.6 (db version 9) and from the oracle site:

Error installing application
I have 2 export files available. The one titled f133 4-26 will still import but is missing many changes. I will send both to [email protected] I have a feeling that the error is coming from page 6, because the line 83 mentioned in the error is the length of the report region on page 6. And no others reach that line. Please help.

Dawn - You should not presume that your problem has not begun to consume the time and energy of others until at least 3 days have passed without a response. In this case it hasn't even been 5 hours. For all matters that are urgent and have anything to do with production applications you should, without exception, contact Oracle Support and begin to use those resources.

Lightroom 2.3 has stopped letting me important RAW files, I need help!

Up until the beginning of this week I have been able to use my LR 2.3 to import, edit and export my RAW files. I haven't changed anything about my uploading or importing process. It will allow me to import my jpg images, however when I try to import any RAW images it says that they may be "unsupported or damaged. (227)" I can see my images and open them in CS6. Any ideas of what might be the problem and how to fix it?!

What camera model? Can you upload one of these images that will not import to http://www.dropbox.com and post a public download link to it in a message, here?
And another question, why are you still using LR 2.3 when LR 2.7 is available without paying more money?

T400 LCD dim issue - Need help!!

I'm having a LCD dim issue with a T400. Have changed the LCD panel, LCD cable and systemboard but still having same issue. If i removed the lcd card, then the display is working fine. I've tested the lcd card in another working unit and it's working as well (means the lcd card is working). I use a working lcd card and plug into this T400 but LCD still dim.
I've try to switch the problematic lcd cable and lcd panel to a working systemboard and it kills the systemboard. Have try to switch a few things but still unable to find the root cause. Urgently need help on this. Any advice will be appreciated.

i suggest uninstalling your current graphic card driver, let windows install its own generic drivers and see if that makes any difference

Newbie needs help comprehending CSS Password Manager functions

Hello All:
I own a TP W500 4062-27U running Windows 7 Ultimate. The computer is trouble-free.
I am seeking a solution to the following need: An application that will securely remember my passwords for various websites, etc. and enable me to log in using the fingerprint reader or similar.
I am aware that Lenovo provides both Fingerprint Reader software and Client Security Solution software, but I don't know whether or not either one (or both) of these applications will provide the functionality I am seeking. I have spent a fair bit of time looking around the Lenovo website, but cannot find a document that describes (in a general, overview manner) the functionality that CSS provides.
I don't need to log into VPNs, or company networks, or anything really fancy like that - I just need something that will enable me to log into about 20 different websites, using a different password for each website. Right now, I'm generally using the same password for every website (that way, I can remember what it is), and as I think you will agree, that is probably not a very good practice so far as security is concerned.
If anyone could point me towards a document that explains how I can get CSS to do what I want it to do, I would be very grateful. If CSS does not have the functionality I am seeking, I would very much appreciate a recommendation of software - possibly non-Lenovo - that does provide the functionality I am seeking.

In regard to your question, Client Security Solution (CSS) should be the right fit for you.
I have a T410 with Win 7, and have several passwords to remember which is really killing me. However, by using CSS, Fingerprint software and Password Manager, I need to enter all the passwords only once when access a website or a tool, and let it saved in CSS.
The next time i turn on the machine and open up a website which needs user ID and password, I just need to swipe the fingerprint that I've enrolled, then viola!
Just take note that after the first swipe of fingerprint, tools or website that are to be accessed later will automatically show the password in the box directly without having to swipe fingerprint again. You just need to click to log in. I"m not sure if this is the experience you're looking for, however, no harm to give it a try.

T400 + WIndows 7, need help with drivers

Hello.
I have just installed a copy of W7 Pro on my T400 but i got some devices in the device manager which i do not know what is.
I Have installed "everything" from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-72858
but I could not install the following:
-Local Manageability Service and Serial Over LAN (Intel AMT 4.0) Windows Vista, XP
-Management Engine Interface (Intel AMT 2.6) Windows Vista, XP
The first i managed to install by going to the intel site and download the newest version but the second one wont install nor will the version on the intel download site.
So far i have the following devices missing drivers:
3xBase System Device
PCI Serial Port
PCI Simple Communications Controller
Hope you guys can help me.

I am sorry that the windows 7 drivers are not fully released yet but we have some beta version of drivers. Please check if you can find what you need here. However, it does not cover all of Lenovo products as yet. Lenovo has a large amount of product models to support. Please bear with us and we shall release the drivers soon after the Windows 7 launch in 22nd Oct 2009.

Need help with a bios/cmos

Hi guys
Having a problem with a backlight which does not turn, I have reached a conclusion that i need to reset bios/cmos..
Looked through the manual guide, nothing there about the bios and stuff like that
Tried to take off the system battery which is inside of a laptop and was not able to do that cuz its stucked or something
Any suggestions??

is your unit's bios at version : 1.09/1.11 ? If it isn't do update.
Also, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Hot Key software.
