Importing a designer 6i repository into a 10g database?

Hi,
I have a Designer 6i repository sitting in an 8.1.7.4 database and I would like to get rid of that database by importing the repository into a 10g or 11g database. My question is can this be done and have Designer 6 still working? If so, how easily?

I'm just in the process of testing the upgrade of a 6i repository into a 10g one on a 10gR2 database. This means I have a 6i repos in a 10g database ... and it seems to work ok - in that I can open things and navigate around. That's just information for you syaing that it doesn't blow up with errors straightaway !

Import SharePoint Designer 2013 workflows into Visual Studio 2012

I have some 2013 workflows created with SharePoint Designer 2013. I can save the workflows as templates ie WSP files but i cannot figure out how to import them into visual studio 2012. Is this possible? please note the import resusable workflows option
is for sharepoint 2010.

"The workflow activities/actions are in separate assemblies, and each tool references a different one." so you will get an error when you try to open the SPD workflow using Visual Studio.

Loading SOAP.jar into a 10g database

Hello,
We recently moved from a 9i Oracle DB to a 10g.
On the Oracle 9i we used the guidelines mentioned in http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/jsp/pdf/JavaDB_Use_Case.pdf to set up the communication with a secure webservice.
However after having switched to the new database these same JAR files no longer seem to be valid. Well actually only the SOAP.jar will no longer load into the database. It complains about a missing classes (OracleSOAPHTTPConnection could not be resolved) - the "funny" thing however is that exactly that class is be defined in SOAP.jar if you open up the jar file.
Can anyone give me hints about what might be wrong - Obviously I am missing something quite fundamental - I am at a loss to what it could be though.

I could not find any reference as to the step by step import/export
procedure with the most important proviso for me.
There is aprox. 24000 photos in Events/Folders and I need to keep these

How to install APEX 3.1 into migrated 10g database not include Oracle Text

Have a database 10.2.0.3 migrated from 9i, which did not include Oracle Text. But now I have to install APEX 3.1. How will I get Oracle Text installed into this database?

I'm experiencing exactly the same install problems as "manimekhalai", the log showing as first error message:

First I had the error
create public synonym wwv_flow_file_objects$ for wwv_flow_file_objects$

ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing objecttoo, but the I dropped all public synonyms beginning with "wwv_" for cleaning up before reinstalling. Still the same problem...

Issue with Date Conversion when loading XML File into Oracle 10g Database

Hello all,
I have the interface shown in the screenshot below. In it, amongst other actions, I'm mapping an XML file element representing a date to an Oracle table column defined as DATE. The source and target columns are highlighted in the screenshot.

When I execute the interface, I get the following error message:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at java.sql.Date.valueOf(Date.java:103)
I'm assuming this refers to the date conversion!
I've already tried replacing SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE with TO_DATE( SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE, 'DD/MM/YYYY' ) in the Implementation tab. This function was not recognised when I executed the interface, so it didn't work! The date value in the XML file is in DD/MM/YYYY format.
I'm guessing that Oracle SQL Date functions don't work in the Implementation tab. Please could somebody let me know:
1. Which Date Conversion function I could use instead?
2. Where I can find a reference for the methods/functions I can use in the Implementation tab (if such a reference exists)?

Hi.
Try to change the execution area to staging area. After You change it, write in the mapping box just SRC_TRADERS.DEAL_DATE. When You use TO_DATE, the source field typu should be varchar2, not date (as it is in your source datastore)

Problems Installing Oracle Metadata Repository into Existing Database

Folks,
I'm slowly going through the process of installing the Metadata Repository into a 10g database, using RepCA I've managed to determine all the DB parameters required for setting etc. The only thing RepCA now reports is missing is the Ultrasearch schema & packages.
I've copied the ultrasearch dirs from the RepCA distribution and placed them in my $ORACLE home dir, I've also attempted to run the admin install script 'wk0setup.sql' which throws out several errors listed below. If anyone has successfully gone through this process on Solaris I would love to hear your about your experience & advice.

Hi guys,
I have used copy of that package from Oracle Identity Management installation, version 10.1.4.0.1 and have been able to complete manual Ultra Search installation. It's valid in dba_registry. After that I did run RepCA and metadata schemas have been created successfully in existing database, version 10.2.0.2. Be careful about database version, only 10.2.0.2 is certified with Oracle Identity management, so you need to run patch for upgrade to 10.2.0.2.

Export from Oracle 9i to be Imported into Oracle 10g on 32bit platform

Currently, I am in the process of performing a Homogenous system copy
due to a domain change in our organization using R3load procedure.
I have taken the export of the existing system which is on Oracle 9i.
Initially, I was planning on setting up the new system on Oracle 9i,
now that Oracle 9i is out of support, I would have to go with Oracle
10g.
I found a note on this topic, SAP Note: 932722, however, this note
explicitly talks about database specific procedure of system copy and
also this note is for 64 bit platform.
Can you point me towards a Note or documentation which can be used as
reference for importing an Oracle 9i export into Oracle 10g on 32bit
platform(System copy procedure is R3load)?

As per your suggestion, I looked at the System Copy guide for Heterogeneous System Copy,
On service.sap.com/osdbmigration under FAQ's this is what I found,
I plan to copy my SAP system to a new hardware with the same OS and DB products but higher release levels. Is this a migration or a homogeneous system copy?
A change of the version of the operation system and/or the database system is not relevant in the context of a migration or a homogeneous system copy. If you don't change the product, but only the release level it is a homogeneous system copy. If you change OS and/or DB, it is a migration.
The system copy guide, doesn't explicitly talk about an export from Oracle 9i imported into Oracle 10g.
Can you point me to a guide or Note?

I have exported my super and shared databases of OFA into "eif" files. Pls tell me how i should import it into Oracle 10g database and subsequently view it using BI Beans or Discoverer.

I tried creating as given in the article, but i am unable to see the OLAP Catalog view. I proceeded as follows:
1)Created a User called DEMO and granted Unlimited Taplespace privilege to EXAMPLE.
CREATE USER DEMO IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD

TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
GRANT OLAP_USER TO DEMO

GRANT READ ON DIRECTORY EIF_FOLDER TO DEMO;
2)Connected to Analytic Workspace Manager as "DEMO" and opened OLAP Worksheet and gave the following commands

IMPORT ALL FROM EIF FILE 'eif_folder\super.EIF' DATA DFNS
(I got the error "CAUTION: FMV is being imported. However, this is a reserved word, so
you must rename the new object before you can use it")
Then, i gave the commands,

In the Enterprise Manager Console of Schema "DEMO" i can see the following objects,

Hi Adam:
Unfortunately there is no possibility to upgrade the internal JVM which comes with your Oracle 10g.
But you can try to backport your jdk 1.5 jars to 1.4 using a [retro-translator|http://retrotranslator.sourceforge.net/].

If you runninng from a client machine then you can use sql script to extract and use sqlldr to load from it. But if you want to extract using pl/sql procedure (utl_file) then you need to write a procedure which generates .csv format on 8i db server, then you ftp .csv formatted and use sqlldr. Setting up utl_file in 8i is easy but it might requires a restart. But in this case, write a small sql script to generate (spool) a data file (csv) and loaded up in 10g using sqlldr. Here a small script to genereate a sql script which in turn will generate "|" delimited datafile.
Just replace "MY_OBJECTS" with your table name and it will generate sql script which you can run from client to generate .csv ('|" ) delimited. You can change it to generate ","

Getting all the CRM on Demand Data in Oracle 10g database

Currently i am using the background worker in .NET to span through all the modules, but recently experiencing performance issues due to data volume.
I want to use .NET as the programming language.

BLOB insertion in Oracle 10g database using ojdbc14 (10g drivers)

I have a situation where I am trying to insert a blob data into oracle 10g database using oracle thin
10g drivers, ojdbc14.jar in weblogic 8.1 sp2. I have the following error happening very intermittently.
java.sql.SQLException: OALL8 is in an inconsistent state.
And this is leading to the "No more data to read from socket" error when I am trying to
insert the BLOB into the database. I have gone through the bug list of SP2 and have realised there is the
following issue fixed in SP3.

An Oracle BLOB sometimes used a pooled connection after the connection pool determined that
the connection was available for reassignment.
Code was added to ensure the BLOB is completely processed before closing the pool connection or
ending the transaction.
I believe the problem arises when we try to insert BLOB into database using a refreshed connection
from the pool.We have upgraded weblogic 8.1 from SP2 to SP4 service pack inorder to come over the above problem.
But this still continues to behave intermittently.
We put ojdbc14.jar in our classpath and Weblogic startup classpath looks like the following :-

OID installation into 10.2 Database

1. Can I install OID into existing 10.2 Database on Linux x86_64 (SLES 10 SP1)
2. ... and if this 10.2 Database used by Oracle EM Grid Control 10.2.0.4?
3. How can I move my existing "standart" installation (OID = AS + 10.1.0.5 Database for AS Repository) into other server/Database?

1) Yes - you can install the OID into a 10.2 database.
2) This is possible as well, as the OID has its own schemas. BTW - I'm working with such an installation right now.
3) Yes, but you will need to create a metadata repository in this new database. Just moving the OID could work, although I never tried that.
