Importing a sequence of images in order?

Forgive my ignorance. I normally just to scripting in Flash,
not frame-based animation :)
I've got a sequence of images from a 3-D program that I need
to turn into an animation in Flash. I thought it was super easy to
bring them in and Flash would automatically place each one on its
on frame in order. Am I missing something? Did they drop this
feature? I'm using CS3.
Thanks a lot,
Erik

it is still super easy and done the same way as all previous
versions - make sure the image sequence
is numbered sequentially (img_001.png, img_002.png,
img_03.png, etc....). In Flash go to File >
Import, select 1st image and you will be prompted to import
them all.

  • HELP! flash stops working when I want to import a sequence of images to stage

Please! I need help asap! I downloaded Flash CS5 and I am using it as a trial and every time I want to import a sequence of images to stage the program stops working and closes without saving. I need to do this projecto for the day after tomorrow and Flash is just not working right. This project is a stop motion animation.
I will deeply appreciate any help, since I just don't know what else to do!
    Laura.

I cannot individually cause it's a stop motion animation...like 200 pictures (this part, the whole of it is like 1000), it would take me a lot of time.  I tried doing it in parts, but when  I get to frame number 100 more or less the program just shuts down...I really really don't know what else to try.

  • Importing a sequence and images only being 1 frame

Is there a way to import a sequence and when the images go to the timeline they are only 1 frame long?

  • Importing a Sequence of Images

    Hi ,
I have get our client 200 tga picture (renders), i want to insert this picture one by one key frame how can i do automatically.
I am try to select & stage but picture is place one over another, please help me
    Regards
    Manoj

create a new movieclip and while that movieclip's timeline is open, click file/import/import to stage and select the first image.  if they're named sequentially and you're using a flash pro cs version, flash will offer to import the entire sequence and distribute each on its own frame in the current timeline.

For reasons unkown, Apple has decided to limit Quicktime 10, by removing many useful features that were avaliable in previous versions of Quicktime.
Luckily, there are others ways of achieving what you want to do...
    1)
You can download Quicktime 7 and Purchase a Quicktime 7 Pro Registration Key. This will enable many extra features that are inactive in the standard Quicktime 7.
You can download Quicktime 7 at the following link...

You can purchase the Pro Registration Key at the following link..

    2)
You can download a FREE software, known as Time Lapse Assembler, that will allow you to import a sequence of images, and export them as a video/movie. If you're on a budget, this is the best way to go.

  • Wrong sort order for rapid sequences of images

When I have a sequence of shots taken at high speed, i.e. a number of them have the same timestamp, being taken within the same second, I find that LR displays some of them out of order. For instance, I have a sequence of 5 frames all with timestamp 9/4/07 2:17:32pm and the file names show up in this order - 1740, 1742, 1741, 1743, 1744 (these are the file names assigned by the camera)
The frames show in this order with any of the sort order options selected except, of course, File Name, and in that one instance they display in the correct order.
Is there a way I can specify in LR that I want to sort in Capture Time order then within that in file name order? This would give me the result I want. The reason I don't want to simply use file name order is that with images from different cameras with differing file naming conventions, or with file names I may have applied, that would not give me correct time sequence as shot. I want to see a whole day's images in correct time sequence regardless of file name.
If there is not a way to specify this in LR, should I add this to the Feature Request list?

Capture Time and Import Order do the same thing.
Additional information - I see the same wrong sequence is presented in the import dialog when I try to import the same photos again (they happen to still be on the card). So, I think it is initially caused by the order that the camera lays down the photos in the file structure on the card, or in the way that Windows reads them off the disk. (I have a Canon EOS 30D, SanDisk CF card, using a card reader rather than plugging the camera to the PC.)
If I use the import dialog's renaming process (in my test I chose filename - sequence) and apply a sequence number to the images the sequence number ends up wrong. So LR is importing the photos in the wrong order (may not be LR's fault?)
So, this modifies the definition of the problem and of the feature request. No longer is it simply the sort order displayed in the library; it needs to be addressed at import time as well.
Here is my attempt to redefine the feature request:
    - when importing images that are taken in rapid sequence (multiple shots within the same second) LR should allow for sorting the images by camera-derived file name to correct out-of-sequence delivery from the card/camera. This sort order, when selected, should re-arrange the preview thumbnails so the photographer can verify the images will be imported in the correct order.

  • Issues with importing photos in an image sequence!

    Hi all,
Just at work and we're doing a rather large Time Lapse photography project which I and another colleague are editing within Adobe Premiere. After gathering a large selection of images we decided it was time to have a go at doing a first edit. Opened Premiere and made a new project etc. and have made a couple of practice runs with different pictures but I opened the pictures (File/Import) and then tried to import all of the pictures but I can't tick "Image Sequence", which is greyed out. Does anyone know why? I assumed it was due to the fact that it was importing them off an external drive but I put them on the MacBook just to make sure but it still wouldn't import them. I then tried to import less pictures at a time still to no avail.
Being flat out of ideas just thought I would ask what I would consider experts with more knowledge than myself for a hand! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, with this being a work project I am eager to get started as soon as possible!

might be the filename convention stuff... like if you have filenames that have a lot of weird characters and no easily discernable " number" sequence it might not be recognizing them as a potential sequence. I'm on  a pc and use a program called " renamer "... which I got for free I think.. off internet.. and it works great for renaming stuff in a folder...
what I do is put a group of files in a specific folder ( like maybe a temp directory I make just for the purpose of renaming files ).. and use renamer on that stuff...
It's a little tricky so experiment with one file so you know it is working the way you expect... ( adding rules and using wildcards and so on ).  If you post a sample of one of your filenames in the sequence someone may be able to tell you definitively what is up ...
    good luck
edit.. an afterthought.. post 2 filenames that you think are sequential... and that way we can see how it is progressing re: numbers, dates, whatever.... and also someone could test it ( like I could create 2 files in ps using those names and see if it works to import as sequence.. and also see what renamer rules would work to fix it if it needs fixing ) ???

  • Importing side by side image sequences

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if there is a easy way to import 2 sets of image sequences into AE and have them side by side, so both sets will be inside 1 frame.
Example of what I'm doing is having a phone conversation, instead of switching back and forth between the actors (image sequences) I want to see them both at the same time next to each other.
    Thank you

No offence, but I really don't want to start there, nor do I have the time to sift though a number of tutorials that may or may not show me what I need. I just want to know how to do what I asked. After I get these images together I'll probably never touch AE again, least not for awhile. This is probably the 3rd, time I've opened AE in 20 years
Appearently it's not so simple, if none of the 50 people that viewed this post can answer the question for me. I can do this in photoshop, but it'll take forever to layer everything, even with scripts. I was just hoping someone could help me out and make my life easier. I've been working 18-20 hours a day for the past 3 weeks with no days off on this animation and learning something new isn't really going to stick anyhow.
    Thanks anyways

  • Importing picture sequence in Media Encoder ? like in the help

If you look in this help document   http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AdobeMediaEncoder/4.0/WS8A54CAA7-268E-4af0-B8A4-0EA3EACEC1A3.h tml
it says you can import TGA sequence and JPG sequence. From the document :
    - JPEG and JPEG sequence (JPE, JPG, JFIF)
    - Targa and Targa sequence (TGA, ICB, VDA, VST)
but I was unable to do that. You can drop a jpg file in MEdia Encoder and it will convert just fine - but only the first frame. How to load the entire sequence ?

I'm trying to import. When you're working with 3d graphics and rendering - the common work-flow would be to render a series of frames, a sequence. Many people work like this also even with normal footage.
Or some programs expect also a sequence. For example the software Nuke (commonly used for compositing in films like Watchmen and Avatar).
And because I think Adobe Media Encoder is one of the fastest encoders around I would like to use it to convert a sequence of JPG in a WMV or H264.
Since it can export a sequence of TGA or BMP it's only normal to expect that it can read also a sequence. And more so the Help says it can :
    Supported still‑image formats :
JPEG and JPEG sequence (JPE, JPG, JFIF)
Targa and Targa sequence (TGA, ICB, VDA, VST)
But if I drag a JPEG file in the encoder - it reads only the first frame. Is there a special method to read the rest of the frames ? Maybe a script , or maybe I have to make a text file like a playlist ..or something.

  • Keeping Imported photos in a slideshow in order

How do you keep the photos I manually import into a slideshow, in the order that I imported them? I have many photos from several locations from several cameras, and when I add them a slide show in the order that I want them, when I go back through the images they are in a different order. How can you get Aperture to NOT change the order of the images? I know you can move them afterwards but I'd prefer not to do the same thing twice.

Thank you. This works, although you can't choose manual until you actually start a slide show and you move something. So it's best to know your first few slides and move one somewhere and then back again before you seeriously start on importing photos into the slide show Then you can choose manual from the drop down list.

  • Importing a sequence of photos

Hi, I am sure this is a newbie problem, but I am a newbie.
How can i import over 700 photos into the stage, automatically
creating a new frame for each photo so they play in sequence. I
need this for a stop frame animation project. I have done some
research and apparantly flash does this automatically if I open a
new doc, new keyframe, highlight it, file > import > import
to stage, then select my photo sequence, which is numbered 1 - 734.
It is then supposed to recognise the sequence and do it all for me.
Not only is it not doing this it is also resizing my photos.
    Help!!

If your sequence is properly numbered then when you import
    the first image
Flash will say something like ' sequence detected - should I
    import the
sequence or just this image?' If it's resizing anything on
    import then it's
probably because the images are not 72dpi.

  • Import PSE 3 catalog & images into PSE 9

    Hi
I have a new PC (Windows 7 64 bit), with the trial download of PE9 (and Premiere Elements 9) installed.  My old PC is Windows XP 32 bit with PSE3 (and Premiere Elements 1) installed.  The images are in "My Pictures" in the old XP PC, generally in date folders but with some folders with names not in the date sequence.   I have a full backup of my photo images made using Photoshop PSE3 backup onto an external hard drive.
To check that my camera is recognised by the new PC I first downloaded images from my camera onto the new PC, and these have automatically been fetched into the Organizer catalog.  I have not yet formed any albums, or done anything else in Organiser or Editor.
Now, how do I import the catalog (and images) created with PSE3 from the external hard drive into the new PC, so that the folders are in My Pictures in the same format?  I have looked in Help and in Forums and seen comments about importing and converting from earlier versions of PSE to PSE 9, but it's not clear to me how to do this - can you please advise?
I have also downloaded some short video clips from my camcorder using Premiers Elements 9 trial.  These clips appear in Organiser in the Albums pane under a heading of Video Projects.  Does Organiser automatically put all video clips (or video projects) into Organiser in "Video Projects", and can this be disabled or  customised at all?  It seems at first a bit odd to me that Video clips and Still images are all in the same pane.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

On the new computer, in PSE9, select File->Restore Catalog, and point it to the backup you made from PSE3. You will be given several options about restoring the photos, including one that is to original directory location.
More details are here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402894.html (which was written for PSE6, but applies to later versions of PSE as well)

  • Slideshow--how to change sequence of images

How do you change the sequence of images in the slideshow.
I am trying to highlight in the film strip, and I can drag it.  But, when I try to place it somewhere else, it springs back to the original location.
    What am I doing wrong?

Yu cannot change the order of images within the Slideshow module.
To change the order, go back into the Library module (must be Grid view), grab the image part of the thumbnail and drag it to it's new position in the sequence. Switch back to the Slideshow module when all of the images are in the preferred order, then create a Slideshow Collection. The order and setting will be stored in the collection.

  • Help importing PNG sequence

So I believe I have successfully accomplished importing PNG
sequences before more than once. However, this time around, I'm
losing my mind. I just successfully rendered a PNG sequence out of
Adobe After Effects CS3, roughly 130 images, and I'm attempting to
import all of them as a sequence to FlashCS3. However, when I do
this, every image is duplicated with a graphic, and the graphics
are about 50x larger than the original PNG size. I cannot figure
out what I am doing wrong, I've never come across this problem. If
anyone has any advice, please let me know; it will be greatly
    appreciated.
I also wanted to know how to move the position of images or
movie clips on multiple key frames at one time. If that makes
sense. As this PNG sequence for example.... If I don't like the
position of the sequence, I have to manually click each key frame,
and move the selected position... any help.
    Thank you
