Importing Adobe Illustrator pages to Muse

I built all my pages in Adobe Illustrator. I have many masked png images on my pages. Am I going to have to place them all again in Muse?

That is correct. There is no way to import the Illustrator design.

  • Importing adobe Illustrator layered files into Motion3???

Hello, I am working in AI, I have a layerd file and I would like to import the AI file with layers into motion to be able to move things around and have thigns come in at different times.
Is there anyway to import adobe illustrator files with layers into motion and keeping the layers, not have it turn into a flat image? please help.
    Thank you very much,
    Michael

There used to be a plugin called Ampede LayerLink to do just this - import AI layers into a Motion project, but it is no longer to be found. Some folks have use these tools to help themselves:

  • Import Adobe Illustrator With Transparent Background?

I love using Adobe Illustrator for creating graphics/logos for use in our vidoes. For example, I'll lay out some text (a group of names) and a couple of logos on one page. Then I want to import it into FCP. But everytime I try to do this, it imports with a white background. I've tried changing the Alpha Channel settings in the FCP Browser, but they have no effect.
If I open the file in Photoshop, the graphic will import with a transparent background. Then I can save it as a PSD and import it into FCP. This always works fine. But it's a big pain to have to go through Photoshop, just to use Illustrator as my graphic design software of choice.
Is there a way to go straight from Illustrator into FCP?

  • Adobe Illustrator & Pages

Is it possible to import an item from Adobe Illustrator to Pages? If so, what format should it be in to get the highest quality image?
    Thank you!

    tabert,
The best format is an .ai file itself as long as you have saved it as "Create PDF compatible file".
You can also import a .pdf file which will be smaller once imported, as will an .eps file which will be converted by OSX's Quartz filters into a pdf.
The great advantage of all these formats is that they will be razor sharp at any size as long as they have nothing but vector (drawing) content, and correctly set up they have transparent backgrounds.
Also you get a full preview of them (except the eps before import) in either Finder, Finder's Cover Flow or Pages' Media Browser should you choose to drag a folder load of files to that.
The most compact and convenient file of all is an Illustrator .eps file converted in Preview into a .pdf, but there are some conditions to this. The Preview .pdfs are best if the vectors are simply outlines and simple fills due to Apple only using a relatively low version .pdf format (v1.3).

  • Importing Adobe Illustrator files

I'm trying to import an Adobe Illustrator PDF file and FCE does't allow. Any help appreciated.

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Do you own illustrator? You could open logo and export them as PDF with preview.
Can you open your logo in preview app (in Mac OS) and export them in a new version(in pdf or other graphical format)?

  • Can't import Adobe Illustrator CS4 .ai files

I recently upgraded to Adobe Illustrator CS4. When I attempt to paste an .ai file into iWeb I see only a black rectangle. This was not the case with CS3 AI. It seems that I must now first convert the AI CS4 file into a .pdf or .eps before importing to iWeb. Also, QuickLook does not display either CS3 or CS4 versions of AI.
    Have others encountered these behaviors?

Are you referring to a Photoshop file with an alpha layer? iWeb and iPhoto do not support those. Nor does several other Apple applications like Preview, Quicklook, etc. Send a feature request to Apple via:

  • How do you import Adobe Illustrator files to After Effects?

    Hi,
I had drawn an animation file in Adobe Illustrator with 8 layers each depicting an animation/drawing.
I tried importing it to After Effects, but the drawing doesn't show up.
Anyone tell me what I am doing wrong; why the drawings are not showing up on the After Effects screen?
I made a video recording of it here:
    Jae

Your drawing is black, and so is your background.  Change the comp background colour, or toggle the Transparency Grid view button..

  • Importing adobe illustrator files into powerpoint. (Vector)

How can I import vector Illustrator files into Powerpoint, so I can edit them later. I have tried PDF (won't work), WMF text breacks up and scaling makes the text crap!
    EPS looks rubbish.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I need the graphic to be able to sit in Power point, look great quality and be completely able to be edited in Power point, Text included. It all needs to be vector. And no text breaking up and able to change colours and fonts and scalable etc.
Need to edit the graphic colour and change update text.
Then you can't build it in Illustrator; at least not all of it.*
    ...or create in Power point...
.That's your answer. Ultimately, Powerpoint-editable = Powerpoint native.
    ...which is very limited!
Are you just assuming that, or have you actually tried to do something and found it impossible? Plenty of drawing can be done in Powerpoint, and text is text. What exactly are you trying to do?
*If you are running Windows, there are ways to get straight Illustrator vectors (no live effects, blends, meshes, etc.) onto a Powerpoint slide using Paste Special. Forget text though, seeing as you need it live and editable in Powerpoint...you'll have no choice but to set it in Powerpoint.

  • Import Adobe Illustrator files

    Hi,
Is it possible to import Illustrator files into iWeb? I'm a television editor and my brother created a new resume for me using Illustrator. What I want to do is have an interactive resume webpage. You'd be able to click on the titles of projects I've worked on and it will launch video clips of that title. But I first have to get the Illustrator file into iWeb. If that's the way to go, of course.
    Thanks in advance

If dragging the file onto the iWeb page doesn't work make a screenshot of it and add it as an image file. Then you can put transparent shapes over the various checkboxes and make them links to the video clips.

  • Import Template from Adobe Illustrator CS4

    Hi everyone,
I would like to import a template (a letterhead that i made) from Adobe Illustrator CS4 into Pages, which I use for writing documents. So far I had no success in doing so. The formats supported by Illustrator are png, bmp, dwg, dxf, emf, swf, jpg, pct, psd, tif, tga, txt and wmf. Furthermore there are Illustrator formats ai, ait and eps and fxg, pdf, svg and svgz.
I hope theres someone who can help me...
    niels

The advantage of a vector format (such as PDF) over a bitmapped format (such as PNG) is portability. Right now, for example, you might be using your letterhead to print to an inkjet printer. Some time in the future you may choose to have a professionally printed stationary printed using the same graphic and at that point the PNG file may not produce high quality output whereas the PDF would. Also, in many cases the PDF file not only creates higher quality output but also results in smaller file sizes.

I'm using a 15" Macbook Pro running OSX6.8 and cannot upgrade. I have a subscription to Adobe CC but none of these work on this so I was on with Adobe for 5 hours trying to install and launch Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Muse, and Acrobat Pro from CS6. Well, InDesign is the only one that works and I have a ton of work due! I don't have a serial number for Photoshop or Illustrator except for CS3, and they don't work. InDesign gave me no problems. Illustrator says it can't work on this machine. Photoshop needs a serial number. I'm stumped and getting anxious and freaked out. Can anyone help? Adobe Chat is down right now.

if you have a cc subscription, close ps > sign out and then back in to your cc desktop > open ps.
    ai cs6 requires:
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. Adobe Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X v10.8 and v10.9 when installed on Intel-based systems.*
2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
    1024 x 768 display (1280 x 800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
